Peter looked over the furniture and provided us a very reasonable estimate to refinish two chairs and a love seat. He said it would only take a week or so. He delivered on both promises - they look great again and he did it all in the timeframe he estimated. They look so good that we are planning to take our teak lounge chairs to him after the summer is over and let him work his magic with them as well.

He spent lots of time with us at our home going through samples and combinations of color arrangements for our "new" cabinets. Of course, we were initially hesitant about painting old cabinets to make them look like the highest quality of new and professionally painted cabinets. "My gosh, is this going to appear professional?" Wow! The finished product bowled my wife and me over!! Peter took our 15-year-old and outdated wood cabinets and turned them into meticulously perfect "new" cabinets. When you go through the photos, there will be 5 initial photos of the "old" and following that, there will be 5 or 6 photos of the "new". You can easily spot these as you review the photos. Peter was VERY easy to work with and had tremendous suggestions. He advised us to keep our same hardware since it would look great on the "new" cabinets. We took his advice and you can see that it looks great. My wife and I are so VERY pleased with Peter and his A1 Cabinet Painting firm. Throughout the process, Ed and his team took their time to ensure that I was content throughout the process, taking a bit more time than quoted as a result of my thoughts/wants, but I am incredibly happy with my new floors. I HIGHLY recommend using Ed and his team for your next hardwood project. The value provided was very high and I would definitely be willing to invite him back in the future for other hardwood projects. My stairwell may be next! The team feathered in the new floor into the old, meaning that they took out a few boards from the old floor into order to get the new floor to flow as smoothly as possible. The material is similar to the type that was already installed, but the new material has more worm holes and noticeable defects -issues that are common with real oak but I do wish those specific boards were either not used or the holes patched as needed. Again, I understand the flaws are common, but the floors we were matching did not have these same imperfections. That said, the team did everything they could to ensure that the new floor was stained to a color I was content with. We tried many colors and the team remained patient with me the entire time, showing their level of detail for customer service. Even though I am disappointed with the material itself, I cannot overlook the patience and level of detail that the team had - 5 star experience with the subcontractor used!

We are selling our house & got our own inspection done because…read morewe have lived here 18 years & did not want to be blindsided at repairs when buyer got theirs done Turns out our HVAC ducting has had air-leaks (improperly installed) and has caused subfloor damage in center of house under 1 bathroom. After calling 3 crawlspace repair places to get estimates. It was unanimous the repairs had to be done from inside. Called Troutman's after Yelp search of bathroom repair. He came out & surveyed damages. We discussed timeline & although they were pretty booked with jobs, he said they work me in. It would take several days- but I was fine with that. I just needed it done before buyers had their inspection. He called me later with the estimate, price was reasonable for everything they had to do. He asked if it was ok to work on Labor Day & that way they could get it all done in one day. I happily accepted. I also asked if while they had floor ripped up could they address the damaged joists under the house. (3rd crawl space person quoted me $3500 to do bathroom floor & joists!) some Bologna about the joists being "special" and he would have to order the wood to do it. I asked Troutman's if they could do the joists whole floor was ripped up. He agreed at an additional $300. Awesome!! The crew showed up on time & prepped areas with drop cloths to minimize dirt etc. they quickly got to work ripping everything except rub out. They had everything done (including joists) and new tile laid by lunch time. They went to lunch while tile dried. Once returned they finished the bathroom in just a few hours. Cleaned up & were gone they arrived at 8:30 & were gone by 4:30. The job looks great.
