    Nachos
    Nachogirl1 ..

Nachos: Perhaps the saddest nachos I have encountered. The dim lighting makes this sordid image look slightly less unappealing. I looked at them with guilt and disbelief, they looked back at me drenched in fake cheese, shredded lettuce from a plastic bag, unevenly cut tomatoes, sketchy Mariana sauce, Kalamata olives pleading for death, and some random green seasoning that could've easily been mistaken for something scratched off the walls. All else: Gorgeous place though, super fun and the music is always incredible. Service is quick and great. Drinks are great. Folks are the friendliest in town. This bar is timelessly cool. I love the atmosphere here. Other food seems more appetizing. Unfortunately, not a safe space for nachos.

If you want great local music and good comfort food this is the place! They also occasionally have some amazing rhubarb pie. The meatloaf dinner is filling and can be split with two people if needed. The burgers are good and the gyros excellent.

I was bored and looking fir something fun then I found this place. They had open mic night! So in a day like Tusday there is nothing to do but that place made my night! Very good chessburger :) will come back for sure!

This establishment is a dive bar, but thats what makes this so unique. On first impression you ask what did you get yourself into when you enter, but it grows in you. Some of the staff is friendly and the others can be rude. *Update: 4\Thursday. Stopped in for a quick dinner at 6:30 while heading home. A band was setting up to start at 7:30, ($10 Cover) At 7:00 I was told to get out, while still finishing my dinner and waiting for my check, since I wasn't staying for the band. I'm stopping in here less often now.

Cool place that pays homage to US Veterans and Rock & Roll through pictures and memorabilia. This is a combination bar, restaurant and small live music venue, tucked into a small strip mall. They have music every night of the week and weekend afternoon. The drink and food menu is rather extensive but don't expect it all to be great. Had a cheeseburger and meatloaf sandwich. Both were good and filling. Onion rings were good too. Stick with the basics and you'll be fine and have lots of choices. The staff was really friendly and took time to tell us the JV story which started back in 1947. Some patrons have been coming here for 40 years. We were not able to stay for music this day but we'll be back.

JV's is a great historic Restaurant in center of Falls Church, Virginia with great food , life music, life band every day. Part of the American history, opened 73 years ago by Greek American Mr. Dross and is run now by his Greek POW's daughter Lorraine Campbell. Food is good quality at very affordable prices and real classic American, wine and beer only. They have several great bartenders and special one is long timer with JV Ms name Patty she knows how to make Best omelette with spinach and mushrooms. There is one very unprofessional and Nasty Bartender name Sandy or Cindy. She is nasty and has very bad karma. She need to be terminated ASAP. Nasty bartender name Sandy or Cindy she will be fired same day in any 4 star hotels or any upper restaurant. I am food and wine and hospitality expert and I know what I am talking about.

The Best part is the live music and the camaraderie of the customers and the staff. This place rocks.

But let me back up..... The atmosphere was incredible, sitting outside on rooftop bar in the early summer evening! The service was TOP NOTCH!!! We were a little complicated w questions & unable to make up our minds PLUS I asked them to change my drink a tad & take out all the chocolate, reluctantly he made it and my GOSH it was the BEST espresso martini I've ever EVER had in my life AND it looked the very best too!!! The food.....ALL FOUR of us said it was delicious and the very best we've had!! I only got pictures of my supper and their dessert but it was ALL delicious!!!! I extend my HIGHEST recommendation for you if you're ever remotely close to Washington DC. It's not in DC but worth the drive across the river! We NEVER eat at the same place twice on a trip, but guarantee ya we would be there tomorrow if we weren't going to NYC!!! Came out piping hot, which is wonderful, but the cheese dip tasted spoiled to me. I've had it there before and I think that's just the way they serve it. It was too viscous and I think tasted off. They had a chicken chili. I don't know what made it a chili, but it was a delicious soup. I'm so glad they didn't make it spicy. I don't know why everything has to be spicy these days. Staff was friendly and they do their best at making the environment look nice. Our waiter and subsequent service staff were very good. It looks like they hire local teenagers also--hat's nice.

Only downside is the owners are Gators I think so there's no FSU stuff in the entire place! I always enjoy coming here and having a tasty beverage or two on the patio and listening to some live music while enjoying some grilled shrimp tacos. I've had other items and enjoyed but the grilled shrimp tacos are my go to here. Food and drinks are just as good in the winter but it's not quite Florida weather so I'm eating inside when it's too cold for flip flops. The margaritas are always enjoyable as is everything else I've ever had to drink. The grilled shrimp tacos are also always just right and they bring the shells and tortillas separately so you can fill the shells yourself make them just how you want them. I usually choose corn tortillas and black beans but they also offer flour tortillas and refried beans as options. Service is always fast and friendly here, even when they're crowded on a weekend. This place is a must try if you're a Floridian in exile or just want to enjoy the beach bar experience in Falls Church.

Do not come expecting a solid seafood dinner. We came here after a nearby event. There was live music in the very sizable back lot area. People were actually up and dancing and having a great time. The vibes were stellar. I don't know if I would be into tbis place in the winter if I had to eat inside because the inside is kind of dingey, but outside in the summer is pretty paradisiacal. I did notice that they were doing karaoke in a weird little side room and it did not seem crowded on a Saturday night so that might be worth checking out. Servers were also all super nice. Pretty sure we entered the wrong way and kind of just let ourselves in through the back lot area and then we had no idea where to go to find a host(ess). So we asked the first server we could find where to go and she went "oh I can seat you" and grabbed two menus. Excellent. She also gave us our choice of wherever. The place is huge. Our assigned server was also nice and really knew the menu, which is not small. The menu had a ton of options including some really interesting tofu options and I had a hard time picking so I got excited. Also very customizable where you can choose your preparation. The beer list was not exactly artisinal...a lot of like...michelob ultra. And they had those island slushy kind of drinks. So at first I was like...this is my new weekend hangout. Then our drinks came. They were small and in little plastic cups. Wuhoh. Then our food came. I should have known it wouldn't be fresh. The price wasa little *too* good. When I asked about the catch of the day it was like four different things. I ended up with a buffalo grouper sandwich (grouper was one of the four things). I have had a fresh buffalo grouper sandwich in Clearwater before and that was in 2019 and I still remember it 7 years later. This buffalo grouper sandwich? Oh no. First of all it was this thin, flat battered fried cutlet thing. The breading absorbed the buffalo sauce so I couldn't taste it very much though they did bring me a lot of Bleu cheese dressing. The fish was bad. I bit into it and it tasted fishy and it was dry. Honestly if I hadn't been super hungry I would have just not eaten it. On top of that, I paid an extra dollar to upgrade from fries to hushpuppies. These were legit hushpuppies, but hushpuppies are small and how many did they bring me? 5. Are you kidding? Again, in Florida these are brought free by the basket. They're literally just fried up balls of corn meal. I think that may have offended me more than the bad fish. My husband went witb BBQ pulled chicken and fries and said both were good. So. Here are my thoughts. Would I come here again in the summer for fun vibes and good service? Yes. Would I set low expectations for my food and drink? Yes. Would I probably just order a softdrink and stick to something simple they can't screw up like a quesadilla and fries? Yeeeeeeeah.

Although the space is on the smaller side, there was plenty of bar seating, an ample number of booths and the drink prices were a good deal. If I lived a little closer, I could see myself dropping by much more frequently. T he only downside that felt apparent to everyone I came here with, was the strong smell of fried fish. I personally wasn't too phased, assuming it as part of their menu. But the longer we settled in we realized it was coming in from an adjacent business which is incredible hard to control. With that being said, we smelled like fried fish when we got into my friends car and the smell followed us everywhere for the rest of the night. Like I said, I understand that's a hard thing to control but it may be something to be mindful of if you've got anywhere you need to go after. Each order comes as one large deboned piece of meat, which is then cut into bite-sized pieces--easy to eat by hand or with a fork. They're available in a variety of flavors. I ordered them dry and got several sauces on the side to mix things up. Highly recommend. Seating - The restaurant has a surprising amount of seating. There's just as much indoor seating as there is outdoor, and possibly even more inside thanks to the bar and high-top tables. It's a great spot to start your night, end your night, or enjoy happy hour with friends after work. Service - For a bar, I thought the service was really good. Multiple waiters checked in on us, and we never had to wait for water or anything else. The recommendations they gave were great, and they stayed attentive throughout the night--even though it was moderately busy when we went. Pro tip: Be prepared to sit inside if you're hoping for a meaningful conversation--the street noise outside is quite loud. Between the main thoroughfare and the neighboring restaurants in the same alcove, it can get pretty noisy. If you value good conversation, you'll definitely want to opt for indoor seating. Pro tip: There isn't much parking in the area, so give yourself an extra 5-10 minutes when planning your visit.
