Great place. This is the establishment that turned me on to Hoegaarden as the beer that will make everyone happy. They were right. We don't often need assistance, but when we ask, there's always a smiling employee there to help out. My only "complaint" is that we can't keep up with the renovations and improvements. Every few visits, we have to relearn the layout of the store... because they keep making it bigger and better. read more

Great selection, especially for a guy from Washington state; I wish distribution was better from home. The staff is very knowledgeable, thankfully, when it comes to the inventory, especially the out of state micro brews. It was fun also to get an education on local liquor laws. I was in the store several months ago to pickup some wine. While I am not a big customer, this was the only liquor store I frequented. When I took the wine to the checkout counter, the clerk did not say one thing to me. The only thing I heard from the clerk was asking me if I wanted a bag for the wine at the conclusion of the transaction. Beware of the individual craft beer selection, King's uses this section only to try and sell their past due dated beer that they can't get rid of. Lazy and rude employees, they like hanging out at the cash register and talking with each other instead of waiting on customers. Asked the manager why a 12 pack of beer that is priced on the shelf for $10.45 is ringing up for $18.65. First they seemed put out that I was even asking, then was told it was probably just human error and the $18.65 is actually the correct price. We come here often due to its convenient location and awesome staff. They're always so friendly and helpful. I think the liquor selection is great as well as a nice variety of wines. Often I see a booth set up for samples from specific liquor companies for promotion. I mean, who doesn't love free samples?! But as far as price goes, I'm not sure how this store stacks up against others (obviously not enough for me to notice). I can guarantee you'll have a pleasant experience though! read more

King's is a very friendly, well stocked liquor store in a part of town that is lacking in quality liquor stores. They have a well thought out beer selection that covers even the biggest beer connoisseur's needs. The best thing about King's though is the friendliness of the employees and owner. Maybe I'm buying good beers (okay, I am buying good beers) but I almost always have a conversation about what I'm buying with the clerk ringing me up. They enjoy talking about beer which I enjoy. Further revealing my bias for King's, the owner and I share a love for Lagunitas brews, which I think everyone should love. read more

Prices are compatible and I can always find what I need. However one night I was checking out and the lady ringing me up was clearly drunk. I was not the only one who noticed this and I was almost overcharged for the wrong item. The apparent management on duty seemed to be oblivious to the situation. I wish there was a way to leave no stars for a review. Stopped in on way home. This is the third time I've been to king's and will be my last. Third strike you're out. I grabbed a bottle of vodka and whiskey and the larger/taller guy was ringing up my purchase. He did not even acknowledge me as a customer. Was too busy talking with the gal he was working with and another guy that appeared to work there. He didn't even say "hi" or any of the normal customer greetings. They usually are rude like this, the past two times, but tonight took the cake. Not only did he not acknowledge my presence except to ring up my two bottles, but I was waiting to see if the chip reader worked, and the guy wouldn't even look at me still. So I took my chances with the chip reader, and it worked. He didn't even let me know when the purchase was complete, just kind of put the bottles into a bag, and turned his back on me to continue his conversation with the same two (apparent) workers. So, I stood there, waiting for at least a 'thanks' or 'see ya next time', or something. But instead, about 10-15 seconds later, the girl was looking at me, and he turned to look at me standing there and said, "do you need something?" What business treats their customers like that? Not King's anymore, as I will never step foot in there again. Nor will I recommend anyone to go there. I have seen the other comments from people on here, and I am on board with one of them that said, "I hope this place goes out of business." The people of Olathe deserve better treatment from businesses. And if this is the best customer service the taller/larger guy has, then find something else. read more

Price gouge and extremely rude. I have spent thousands of dollars on wine and spirits at Kings. When I called for an explanation of why they are charging $50 for a $20 dollar beer the owner was completely rude and made it clear that he didn't care about losing a valuable customer.
