Dropped in for an oil change, wheel alignment and brake check service on a friend's car today in the early afternoon. They were on the busier side but we still walked in without an appointment. Service is still amazing, everyone's friendly and prices are still super reasonable and lower than your dealership costs. I have been going to K&G for car services for many years now and I have had a great experience each time. Both Kit and Grace are amazing at what they do. Their customer service is professional and the prices are very fair for the quality of work they put in. Grace is very sweet and warm hearted. Not only am I treated well with respect but other customers are also treated the same. The waiting area is kept clean and the whole atmosphere is comforting. Kit is an expert at what he does as a mechanic. He always clearly explains what was wrong with my car and what was done to solve that problem. He won't argue with you over silly things and is there to listen to your concerns as well. Both Kit and Grace are very trustworthy and will not push you towards getting something else done if you don't need it. In the end they are there to help you and make sure you have a great experience in and outside the shop. The timing of the labor is also fast and professional. The service may take longer on a busy day but that's understandable. The mechanics have great attention to detail and do their best. They don't half-ass things. I highly recommend K&G's services to all my family and friends. Regarding the one star review by another user, I don't think it is right to give a one star out of just one rare personal incident she had especially when she even wrote "Kit and Grace are very nice people and they have a clean shop and an efficient work method." She then explains that she "will be taking [her] car elsewhere for service now, but it's not because of the owners or the shop's quality of work." Her one star is purely out of emotion and not about the service. Just because this one user had one unfortunate experience out of her many loyal years of experiences does not mean the shop overall deserves a one star. One star reviews really hurt small local businesses and those who actually open shops or stores are just trying to live as well. We are all human, we all make mistakes. Sure the situation could have been handled differently but it sure does not deserve a one star. These guys are awesome! I had a problem where all the electricity with the car was off. It was so crazy. No other mechanic could fix. It was only at K&G that he figured out a way to repair the problem. As a women I have often been ripped off at shops. Not with K&G everything was explained clearly with me and the pricing was modest. Honest, competent, reliable, properly priced - If it's broken, Kit (the "K" in K&G"), and his mechanics fix it. If it's not broken, there's no up-selling. Waiting area is clean and pleasant. Kit personally explains what **has** to be done, what **should** be done, when and why. I always dreaded going in for auto repair but K&G has really made the experience great. Service was fast and professional. The owner explained everything to me, was very honest on what needed to be repaired and what I could skip for now. Prices were reasonable. My friend recommended this shop to me, and since it is hard to find an honest mechanic I took her advice. After all, she had been taking her Pontiac sunfire there for 13 years and it was still running strong with over 200k miles on it. Kit takes the time to explain to you what needs to be done, shows you the prices of the parts and lets you decided if you want aftermarket or original manufacturer parts if available. The labor price is fair at about $80/hr but he will only charge for a fraction of an hour if it takes less time. I wish I used him for my state inspection ($75 as opposed to the $98 charged at another inspection center). His quote was well below their price and it passed the re-inspection with flying colors. Hopefully he will keep my car running well into the end of it's useful life. I have a 2006 Mercury Milan with about 90k miles on it. read more

Their waiting room has a TV and magazines, and it's very comfortable. Not like some shops that are cramped or smell like fumes. I highly recommend K&G Automotive. I've always been a bit weary of being taken advantage of by mechanics' shops, but K&G is as honest as they come. They quickly and thoroughly examined my car, gave me a detailed estimate of the potential costs (best case and worst case), showed me (on my vehicle) what they planned to do, and then performed the work as inexpensively as possible without cutting corners on quality. Kit, the owner of K&G, even gave me a ride too and from the metro station. I highly recommend K&G Automotive if you want to get high quality service at a VERY reasonable price. read more
