I stop at K Bakery anytime I go downtown for work to pickup breakfast or lunch or just treats for later. Everything is delicious! I always get a breakfast burrito, which is always great, fresh, and hot. I do wish they could add or offer to add something spicy to them. I've gotten a variety of baked goods, mostly sweets, which are fresh, not too sugary, and always moist. My absolute favorite discovery on the menu are the pupusas. I needed a customized cake for my brother's 40th birthday and after a few clicks on Yelp, I found K Bakery. They were able to create a cake from a picture I brought in AND I didn't get any judgmental looks or disapproving glares (see attached pic) They were very accommodating and professional. Ordering and pick up was a breeze! They're open til 9pm which is convenient if you work late during the week. I've only stopped in for drinks including coffee and the blood red juice concoction known as the Vampiro, both of which were just fine. K Bakery is not only a bakery but also a restaurant and a place for picking up juices and smoothies that aren't exorbitantly priced. Last week I ordered a bionico no coconut over the phone. I got there early, so I waited a bit for the bionico... of course it had coconut. The staff member tried to give it to me she said they didn't tell her, I asked her if she could please remake it as I didn't want the coconut. I can't believe she tried to give it to me like that. Today 06/02/2016 I placed another phone order, this time for two bionicos no coconut. I got there and they were ready. I got to my office began eating.. and the bananas.. WAYYYY over ripped. Like really? Why are you using OLD bananas! I couldn't take the texture in my mouth so I just didn't eat it and neither did my sister. These bananas should only be used for making banana nut bread! I haven't tried many of their baked goods so I can't attest to them but I do love their tamales de queso y rajas and their chicken taquitos aka tacos dorados de pollo. You get 3 tacos dorados for only $3.50!! (+$1 if you add lettuce, crema y queso). They have a little salsa bar that you can serve yourself. Tip: take cash. They charge you $1.50 unless you spend more than $10, which is actually kind of hard because their stuff is so cheap. read more

This bakery has to be one of my favorites! It's a clean establishment that sells many of my favorite pan dulce (sweet bread). They also make delicious food (great lunch spot). I also love that they make smoothies and natural juices for a reasonable price!! They don't over charge you like other places. They also make other great desserts. They have a variety of aguas frescas, iced coffee, coffee, champurrado, etc.. The only thing I can't vouch for are their cakes. I still haven't tried them but I'm sure it won't disappoint. I been a customer from this place long time enough to know how things are and works in this bakery. I STOP myself from complaining on line but it got to a point now that am tired and fed up with the owner of this place. She is very rude sarcastic and most of all very very unfair i order a salvadorian breackfast 2 days ago when i got home i realize how burn my plantains were or what you call fry bananas obviously i was tired and hungry and ate whatever wasn't burn yet the rest of the food didnt taste good either so i didnt finish. Next morning i decide it to call and let SOMEONE know about it not sure who it was but she was ok and told me to come show her a picture of the food i told her i have the platanos in the container could not eat them ofcourse so when i got there they offer me a new breackfast which i figure it was the right thing to do.but while am waitting and time past by i notice the women that work there talking among each other next thing i know the owner appear.goes to the kitchen another lady comes out and tells me the only thing they can give me back are the platanos nothing else.and so they lie to me the owner never apologize .i want it to let her know that the least thing she could of done and totally proper was to give me the entire breackfast and also apologize. There was another real bad time when i bought chicken tamales and you don't want me to tell you what i found but i did.and now ill confess had roaches YES!!! Never again i order them.but now i am not planning to return at this bakery anymore the owner is the WORST one from all who works here the only thing she cares is about the money. Wow this place is a gem in LA. Delicious Mexican food, including veggie options. Also- largest selection of fresh fruit and vegetable juices AND Aguas Frescas I've seen in LA. Everything is super fresh and made on site. I tried all of the Aguas Frescas including guava, Jamaica, pineapple, and one of the most delicious options - ALFALFA! The alfalfa agua Frescas is amazing and a MUST TRY!! not only are the food and fresh drinks amazing, but it's a bakery!!! Everything is made fresh on site. I wish I had discovered this place sooner! The food here is ok but they are wayyyy over priced with there bread! I purchased 2 cream cheese jalapeño breads and 3 bolillos and they charged me 9 dollars???? Everything is fresh made and you can taste it. From the bread to the house menu. Best Cafe de La Hoya around (careful one cup and you'll be hooked like crack). The home made fruit juices are also on point( beet juice will wake you up). Highly recommend it just heads up b4 9am. Packed with late students from the nearby high school. Whomever was in charge of charging people on 11/4/17 sure has a funny way of trying to cut cost .. not only do you charge 50 cents for using square ( I have square and I can't seem to find a reason why to charge my clients an additional 50 cents per transaction ) .. but 20 minutes earlier I had ordered a breakfast burrito add onions and cilantro without a charge ... 20 minutes later , I order the same thing and now their is an additional charge ... mind you I also ordered a burrito with ADD spinach .. and their was no charge for the spinach ... something does not seem to add up here .. Been coming here for a while , and it seems as if they'll start charging for the bathroom napkins they hand out soon ... food is passable and it's convenient enough to not leave the neighborhood .. but maybe training or at least having a consistent course of action when people order certain things would be a good idea .. read more

Best place in LA hands down ! I stayed at the motel across the street and happened to stumble on this place and there is absolutely nothing bad to say. They serve typical and traditional Mexican food that is fantastic. In this plate I got the floutas which came with rice and beans and the were full of flavour. This place has come a long way. I work right up the street, and this place is cute. They have comfort food and all at a reasonable price. We were staying across the street from K Bakery and were hungry. The office manager recommended that we try K Bakery. They have more than just baked goods. The Asada burrito was delicious! At $5.50 it was great size for the price. Their salsa verde is also super tasty. We had strawberry and banana shakes which were also wonderful-not as cold as I would have liked, though. Great potato taquitos that comes with guacamole, lettuce, beans, and rice. The carne asada burrito was plain with rice beans and a few peas in the mix. Hot sauce was dark brownish orange and was good. I will try the burrito again but ask to add cheese and sour cream so it's not so dry. Can't wait to try the agua frescos and bread. HORRIBLE SERVICE and MEDIOCRE FOOD! I had stopped going to K Bakery some time ago due to a mistake they made with my order of tamales, which I ordered the day before and I had a a preset time for pick up, which wasn't ready when I showed up. Later when I got to where I needed to with my order, they got the whole order wrong! I made them aware of what happened and nothing... No apologies. So, today I decided to go back for tamales. Figuered, what can happen now... So, I'm second in line behind a couple that have been there some time, they were done and I stepped up to the register. Then behind me someone comes up to the register with some pan dulce and he was rung up. I was looking at the employee at the register, some brunette woman who's been there for a while, she just ignored me, never acknowledged me, nothing. So, I walked out. So, if you want horrible service and mediocre food go to K Bakery in Echo Park. So, just sharing my continued horrible service at K Bakery.
