My friends raved about the Vegetable Kimbap they had for lunch today! I had to add a quick review for them since they believed to be one of their favorite dishes they have had so far while here in New York! To make the food better, the setting is also unique and relaxing. Service was also great. They brought the food out from the stand directly to our table. Food 5/5 Service 5/5 Ambiance 5/5

The food here is amazing, it tastes fresh and the flavors combine so well. The service here is great! The lady at the counter has such a nice smile, and she even gave me a free stick of gum!! The eatery itself is kinda noise and overwhelming if you have social anxiety (like myself).. but no worries, they have an online order kiosk next to the booth if you're nervous talking to people. Will come again, delicious kimbap~ I got the beef bulgogi~

(Overall: C) - This is a small, kind family-owned shop in a food court and it is clear that the owners has a love for cooking Korean food. Unfortunately, I found most of the food to miss the mark in terms of taste, but I do hope to see the shop improve over time. (Bulgogi Kimbap: C) - You can tell that there was a lot of love put into meticulously wrapping this Kimbap with the multi-colored vegetables that each add their own texture and flavor. Unfortunately though, the beef tastes bland, boiled, and dry even though I saw it cooked in front of me on a pan, perhaps because it was on a small fire for too long a time and not marinated enough. We really hope for the bulgogi to be the driving flavor, but unfortunately it was the pickled radish. (Crab Samgak Kimbap: D) - What stands out from the Korean Kimbap is the abundance and varied use of vegetables to develop upon the Japanese counter part. Unfortunately, I thought this triangular version undid all of that by only putting crab, egg, sandwiched between a significant amount of rice, leaving out the beauty of the burdock and other fascinating Korean flavors. -- Food: -1 Presentation: E Price: E Atmosphere: E Service: +1 Menu: E Overall: +0 C Insta/Beli/TikTok: @amei_eats

The kimbap here is so fresh! Everything is made to order and the flavors are so good. I always make sure to stop by when I'm in the area.

I was surprised to see another kimbap place in chinatown. I was so excited, and it definitely did not disappoint! However, it was my first time entering this food court, and it wasn't the best-looking place. Authentic. Delicious. Flavorful. Kindness is a bonus. The couple, I assume, owners, were so sweet. Since they had a couple of other orders that they were working on ahead of me, they were worried that I would be waiting long and offered me a cup of their Sikhye to try. I've never heard of this drink before, let alone tried it. It was pretty good, actually. After completing my order, instead of calling me over, the woman brought the order to me and proceeded to educate me on the drink. It made me feel good knowing that it's a healthy drink because I am on a diet, lol. Now, the food itself was a 10/10. I ordered the beef bulgogi while my coworker tried the spicy tuna (wish it were spicier). We both loved it and vowed to be back. I especially like the fact that the carrots did not have a strong flavor (I hate carrots, sorry). I hope they will be around for a long time, even if it's not within this food court. I want to be a long-term customer.

This place is a hidden gem inside the Mott Street Eatery! It's hard to find good kimbap that really delivers a satisfying bite. You need the perfect rice to filling ratio, a variety of ingredients that complement each other, and ideally, fresh rolls that bring out all the flavor. The kimbap here actually delivers on all of that, and they are sizable portions too. There is a pretty expansive menu to choose from, and you can see your food being made right in front of you since everything is made to order. I love that there are also a bunch sides to choose from, like fresh grilled rice cake and sausage skewers. Plus yummy rice drinks that are all house made. Also, the owners here are so sweet and you can tell they care so much about making food that is healthy and delicious. They take quality of ingredients super seriously and that really translates into their food. This is an awesome spot for a quick meal or to go order. I'll definitely be back!

Newly opened kimbap spot! Freshly made kimbap is unbeatable. The owners were incredibly kind and offered me a sample of their tteokbokki. I usually don't enjoy dishes made primarily of chewy starch, but this one exceeded my expectations. It was small with a crunchy exterior, well-seasoned, and you could even taste a hint of sausage flavor as you chewed.

    The stand!

Saw that there was a new Kimbap/Korean spot in Chinatown and decided to give it a shot! Although affordable, the food is delicious and fresh. I got the Beef Kimbap and Tuna Mayak Kimbap. The Kimbap was dense and filling, I was able to split the two items into two meals! I didn't dine in but there is the option to in a nice ventilated food court with plenty of seating. The people running the store were so friendly and kind and are happy to customize your order however you want. I would suggest bringing cash as it's a small business (thought they do take card). I can't wait to try the other things on the menu and bring my friends-- will definitely be visiting here regularly!

Inside Mott St Eatery lies a mom&pops gimbal shop ran by a sweet couple. The gimbap is made fresh, well seasoned and hefty. The customer service is impeccable. We got the spicy tuna which was delicious, though not e'very spicy. Will definitely be coming back to try other flavors.

The effortless tranquility encourages you to slow down, enjoy the food, and get away from the everyday, hubbub. Their menu leans into fusion dishes with a nod to some of the classic home-style classics. Everything is presented with a refined, elevated touch. Here's what we ordered: ~ Tako Wasabi - 5/5 stars A fiery delight. This appetizer feartures chopped raw octopus marinated in wasabi. It has a lively zest from the wasabi and is topped with tobiko, which adds a pleasant contrast in texture. ~ Honey Makgeolli - 4/5 stars A traditional fermented Korean beverage that is light and pairs brilliantly with your meal. It is a cloudy alcholoic drink served in a metal teapot, and surprisingly, there is much more in that teapot than you would expect. It easily provides six to eight generous pours. The flavor is subtly sweet with a pleasant tang. ~ Temaki Set - 4/5 stars You can order a set of three by choosing from selections 1-17, or you can order a la carte at the listed prices. Some of the temaki stood out more than others. Our two sets included marinated salmon, bluefin tuna, spicy yellowtail, spicy bluefin, and two dynamite temaki. ~ Spicky Pork Ssam Set - 5/5 stars Truly another standout entree that even surpassed my beloved grilled BBQ bossam. You received a generous basket of assorte greens, including romaine, kale, perilla leaves, dandelion leaves, nappa cabbage, and more. It is well worth the price and makes for a fun, interactive dining experience with your family and friends. There is also various banchan offered and this time, they were beyond kind enough to offer refills. The last time we were here, we ordered just as much food and they stated they normally did not offer refills, which I thought was very odd. With its casual bougie aesthetics, this spot has quickly become one of my favorite eateries in Fort Lee-lee, It beautifully blends Korean, Japanese, and American flavors in a way that feels both comforting and elevated. Needless to say, we will be back!

We walked into a stylish but relaxed space that feels suited for both casual dinners and a night out with friends, with an atmosphere that balances energy and comfort well. The room gets lively when it fills up, but the noise level adds to the experience rather than detracting from it, making it feel like a place built for sharing and conversation. The food is where Hojokban stands out. The complimentary banchan sets the tone for the meal with flavorful sides that add variety before the main dishes arrive, each one thoughtfully prepared and offering a different texture or flavor profile. The gomtang soup is one of the more comforting options, bringing together tender meat, a rich broth, and classic Korean flavors in a way that feels hearty without being overly heavy. The galbi dishes are also a highlight, with the meat cooked well and carrying the sweet and savory balance that makes Korean-style grilled beef so enjoyable. The portions are generous, and the quality of the ingredients is noticeable across the board. The menu has several unique dishes worth exploring. The truffle potato pancake is one of the more memorable items, combining a familiar Korean staple with a richer, modern twist that adds depth without losing the essence of the original. The perilla oil noodles are another standout, offering a lighter but still flavorful option with a distinct nutty aroma that lingers on the palate. The beef tartare adds a more refined element to the meal, fresh and well seasoned, while dishes like the ramyun fried rice bring a fun comfort food element with bold, savory flavors. Together, the menu covers enough ground that you can build a meal around both familiar favorites and more creative choices. Service is friendly and the overall experience feels welcoming rather than overly formal. The staff are attentive without hovering, and they handle the busy flow of the restaurant with a pace that keeps the meal moving without feeling rushed. The menu is designed for sharing, and the portions make it easy to order several dishes across the table, allowing you to try more of what the kitchen has to offer. The lively atmosphere adds to the meal, making it a good fit for group dinners where the energy of the room matches the pace of the food. Hojokban does a good job blending traditional Korean flavors with a more modern dining experience. It is a place where you can come for familiar comfort food while still finding dishes that feel creative and different. If you enjoy Korean cuisine and want a restaurant with a little more personality, this is a spot worth checking out. It delivers a meal that feels both familiar and fresh, striking a balance that makes it easy to return to and explore more of the menu.
