Stopped by K Soul Kitchen and got the sausage mozzarella Korean corn dog with potato and ketchup on the side. The spot itself is pretty small, more of a quick grab-and-go kind of place rather than somewhere you sit and stay for long, but it works for what it is. Service was quick and the food came out fast, which I really appreciated. The corn dog itself was good, crispy outside, nice savory sausage, and the potato coating added a fun texture. The only thing I'd say is I wish there was more cheese pull/more cheese inside, because that would've taken it to the next level. The food here is soooo delicious!! I ordered the bibimbap and the fried chicken. I was pleasantly surprised to see some deep fried rice cakes thrown into the mixture of the fried chicken. It was the perfect combination of chewy and crispy deliciousness. The radish here is also super refreshing and a little sweet which is the perfect side dish to refresh your palate in between bites of the fried chicken. Even after going for a 30 minute uber ride it was still crunchy and super delicious. The batter is light and sweet, with a crunchiness from what I think was panko? I also got the galbi fried chicken, mixing boneless with wings. I love that they throw in some deep fried tteok: they're chewy, crispy and delicious. This place has great korean fried chicken! We usually get takeout (call to order and pick up), and the workers are always so friendly. The chicken pieces are nice and big, very juicy! My favorite flavors have been the galbi chicken and the garlic & jalapeño chicken wings. I'm a person that doesn't like an overload of sauce, so I felt that the amount of sauce was perfect. We got the fries with our last order and they were also great! Very lightly seasoned, could argue that they need more salt, but I found that it worked perfectly with the chicken. We've only had takeout here so I can't comment on eating inside, but the dining area seems spacious and homey (with a bonus of kpop performances playing on tv). The NFL season and College Football regular season is coming around soon and nothing pairs better than some cold alcohol and some chicken wings . We don't go to Korean restaurants much since the vegetarian options are usually pretty slim but I've been dying to try cheese corn for awhile so we finally got around to stopping in. We ordered the cheese corn, a corn dog, and the galbi chicken. The prices range quite a bit with the corn dogs and corn cheese being on the low end but the chicken on the high end. The flipside is that there was *so much* chicken, my partner brought leftovers home (he rarely does that!) so overall, you're getting a lot of food for a really great price! Service was quick and came out to our table. I was blown away by how delicious everything was and my partner was so happy to get the option for boneless chicken. We saw a few things on the menu that we'd both love to get, so I think we'll be coming back since it's in the neighbourhood. Tell me why when I first opened the delivery box of galbi boneless chicken and stabbed what I thought was a French fry with my fork, I literally did a chew double-take and removed the tteokbokki from my mouth because my taste buds were so thrown off from what I was expecting. A few things I examined to create my short list were varieties/flavours of chicken, quantity to price ratio, other customer ratings, images of the chicken, and proximity to my neighborhood or deliverability to my friends' neighborhood where the Friendsgiving will be hosted. When I took the first bite of K Soul chicken, I knew I'd found a winner. I'm very particular about KFC having spent the last few years living in LA and Orange County, home to copious dedicated KFC restaurants. K Soul's chicken tastes the most similar to my favourite spots in SoCal. It has the perfect texture and crunch, the meat is neither dry nor greasy, and the umami flavor is on point. Service here is minimal, with more of a cafeteria style setup. You order at the counter, they bring the food to your table, and afterward you can either bus your own tray or leave it for the staff. Either way, the gentleman working the front makes sure to wipe down the tables promptly. We returned a few weeks later and tried the spicy wings and their fried chicken sandwich which were much better and much more flavorful. It would be hard to say that Korean fried chicken wasn't in the running. You can see everything I had here. Before I've also had one of their original fried chicken offerings with the jalapeño and garlic sauce. I tried a few new things this time. The chicken sandwich didn't stack up to the elites in the city. The fries were fries. The corn dog was great. You don't find these everywhere. These put regular corn dogs to shame. Highly recommend. I like the regular fried chicken the most but the price is a little high. They do know what they are doing in here though. It's a no frills place. They get you your stuff pretty quick and hot. It was very flavorful with lots of garlic on it. The yang nyum was good as well and also quite flavorful but didn't have a special taste to it, I felt like it was similar to a lot of other flavored korean fried chicken that has go chu jang as a base in the sauce. The ddeokbokki was quite delicious though! It got more spicy as we ate and came with other things like dumplings which was nice. When the shot glasses were brought over, we also asked for beer cups and the waiter was nice he explained the lines on the cup to help mix the beer and soju. We sampled two different types of fried chicken, the gochujang being our favorite until we dunked the jalapeño garlic chicken in the ddeoukbokki; then that became our favorite. The chicken was perfect KFC, and definitely worth going back for. The ddeukbokki came with seaweed rolls and fishcakes. The heat level was satisfying.
