Yesterday I had emergency eye surgery and I just wanted a quiet place and a bowl of soup. The service was fast friendly and had good advice . The place was clean and they even had the World Cup soccer on one entire wall . I wanted to say thank you to the staff for providing a good meal at a reasonable price . Thank you !

This was authentic and so delicious! Picked up a late night snack before bed with my kiddos. Service was great and it was a very clean & cute restaurant that you can also enjoy your meal there or take home. We decided to walk there from our hotel- probably not the greatest idea around that area. Overall this spot was so delicious and it definitely hit the spot! Their kimbap was so big and tasty! I wish they gave me more radish, but overall it was very satisfying. They take card only just fyi!

    | visited Kimbap Heaven literally 20 minutes ago for the first time and I have to post about it! I got the fried shrimp kimbap and it was incredibly delicious and fresh! There were a lot of different textures and flavors. There were varying levels of crispness from the fried shrimp and veggies. The pickled daikon was refreshingly bright. I liked that the kimbap was packed with ingredients with a perfect layer of rice. It was filling, especially with the miso soup that came with it. They did a great job renovating the space, which used to be a vegetarian Thai restaurant. It's brighter and feels more open. I took my order to go, but the gentleman who took my order was nice. And I got my food within 15 minutes. I'm definitely coming back to try the rose tteokbokki.

Date: Monday, October 13th, 2025 Party of: 2 Meal: Lunch Delivery Time Ordered: around 2:15pm Time Delivered: about 30 mins later Ordered Thru: DoorDash Delivered To: Outer Richmond *Fish Cake Soup 어묵탕 ($6.99) *Fried Seaweed Roll: 4 PCS ($4.99) *SSam Kimbap ($13.99) *Basic Kimbap ($10.99) Quick, easy, not too expensive. I believe the hubby picked this spot since he wanted something that reminded him of home? I however, just wanted the fish cake soup. It was tasty - savory soup, chewy cakes, slight sweetness from the onions. I believe he enjoyed the kimbap. Tho he likes to add srirachi to every single bite. The seaweed rolls were just meh. I can't recall what the hubs was expecting, but it wasn't this. Decent spot to grab fast korean food. REVIEW #3869

I called in at 3:30pm for a pickup order at 5:15pm (14 items!). They called to let me know it wouldn't be ready until 5:40pm due to a sudden surge of orders. It worked out since I was late getting out of work. When I got there around 5:30pm, I still had a bit of a wait but they offered me a seat and water while I waited. There's white zone and yellow zone parking on Willow St, right around the corner. My order was finished around 5:50pm. One of the staff kindly helped me carry my order to my car (3 bags full). When I got home, I was pretty amazed with the amount of food there was. It was all good, only complaint from our group was that some of the rice seemed a bit mushy. Items that I'd order again: Rabboki Rose tteokbokki Bburinkle chicken Musubi kimbap Bulgolgi kimbap Ssam kimbap Things I'd like to try: All their rice plates (My kid loved the tonkatsu rice plate) The interior of the restaurant looked clean and bright. They had K-pop playing from a projector on the blank white wall. Not my thing but could be nice if dining in. Hope to try more one day!

An old sketchy Burger King turned into a high tech Ghost Kitchen. Although it looks like 3 mall food court kiosks, the digital menu is like 15 restaurants. I went with the highest rated on Yelp and did my own pickup with that cool cubby system. Bulgogi Kimbap: Pretty good quality kimbap. Seemingly made-to-order since the rice seemed fresh, unlike the stale rice you get in Korean grocery store kimbap. Had so many nice ingredients in the middle to complement the bulgogi. Really love all those pickled veggies. Musubi Kimbap: Looked nothing like the photo. It was essentially a regular kimbap, but with spam for the meat. So felt a lot more kimbap-like than musubi-like. Tasty, but I the bulgogi version is better. Soy Garlic Wings: It feels a bit pricey to pay $30.40 for 10 wings that you pickup yourself. But they are good quality. Crispy skin with very light battering. No squishy fat underneath, indicating it was probably double-fried so all the fat had been cooked off. Nice tangy soy garlic sauce.

Tuna Mayo Kimbap w/ green onion soup ($12.99) + Housemade Kimchi ($3.99) - ghost kitchen, takeout + delivery only

3.5 STARS NGL, I was hoping for a fork to come with my kimbap. I mean, this is the Mid-Market area. J/k! But, including a faux metal fork it would have been a cute ode to Squid Games. I'm always on a hunt for affordable lunch options near the office so I was happy to find Kimbap Heaven on yelp. While the business notes, they're a "restaurant" on yelp, they're a ghost kitchen inside Mid Market Eats. They share a space with over 18 other concepts inside the old Burger King space. It's takeout and delivery only. You can find them on 3rd party apps, order ahead direct: https://midmarketeats.com/, or in-person via kiosks. M E N U Array of kimbap (korean seaweed rice rolls), KFC, ramyun, tteokbokki, rice plates (galbi, bulgogi, donkatsu, etc), and housemade banchan. O R D E R I N G To beat the lunch rush, I placed a direct order on Mid Market Eats around opening time and was quoted 14 minutes. When I arrived, I had to wait an additional 30 minutes for my order. Without asking, the kind front desk employee ran downstairs four times to check with Kimbap Heaven on my order (thank you!). I hope they're able to give more accurate wait times for those on break and need to get back to work. F O O D * Tuna Mayo Kimbap ($12.99): https://tinyurl.com/3nmfbpr5 Large, filling kimbap with canned tuna, surimi, egg, fishcake, spinach, burdock, carrots, and pickled daikon. While I appreciate that the kimbap had little rice, it was on the bland side, missing a creamy tang. Easy fix with adding more mayo to match their menu description of "rich and creamy". The kimbap also includes a side of hot green onion soup. * Housemade Kimchi ($3.99) Maybe because the kimchi had been sitting for a while but it was mushy and too sour, akin to commercial ones. Overall, Kimbap Heaven is the only kimbap specialty place in the city (Woori Food Market/Catering does have a handful of kimbap options tho) so worth trying if you're in the Civic Center/Mid-Market area. Unfortunately, I have to round down for the long wait time.

Soft opening started 1/12. They recently moved out from the ghost kitchen down on market to this cozy spot. Interior is bright. Everything is brand new. I only had a couple of things to eat since it was consider as my first meal. Just got a basic kimbap and fried seaweed roll. The soup comes with the kimbap. There was on the house chives pancake. Can't wait for grand opening

    Kimchi cheese kimbap, ddukbokki
    Katie K.

I did pick up and found that it was a cloud kitchen. Reminiscent of the restaurant chain of the same name all over Korea, this place specializes in kimbap and other street food items. The kimchi cheese kimbap was amazing. The roll itself was huuuge and it had all the proper authentic filling that you'd see in a kimbap in Korea. I also really appreciated that they didn't not skimp out on the egg--the egg really makes or breaks a kimbap. The ddukbokki was absolutely on par with the street ddukbokki you get in Korea. They used flour based dduk so even after the dish had cooled down the texture of the dduk stayed super chewy. The sauce was also the perfect balance of sweet and spicy.

This is actually a nice place to order food from. The food here is great also they don't serve just Korean food here. They also have pizza here. The Korean food I had here tasted great. The service was friendly and the ambiance of this place is very nice. A great place to have lunch or dinner. This place is mostly a takeout place. I give them 4 stars. I may come back again

Once you step through the doors, however, you're greeted by a space that feels both cozy and contemporary, with an effortlessly stylish atmosphere. Even the restroom was thoughtfully designed and remarkably comfortable--a small detail, but one that speaks to the restaurant's overall attention to detail. We began with the Uni Scallop Toast and Mulhwe as appetizers. As someone who is typically not a fan of uni due to its pronounced brininess, I was genuinely surprised by how much I enjoyed the toast. The bright citrus sauce balanced the richness of the uni beautifully, while the contrasting textures from the crisp toast and delicate scallop created a harmonious bite. The scallop also helped mellow the stronger oceanic notes of the uni. It was a creative and memorable dish unlike anything I've had before. The Mulhwe, a Korean-style fish salad, was dressed in a refreshing apple vinaigrette that gave it a light, summery citrus character. The fish itself had a pleasantly chewy texture--firmer than salmon--with no trace of fishiness. While enjoyable, it didn't leave quite the same impression as the uni toast and was my least favorite dish of the evening. For our entrées, we ordered the Galbi Steak and Pork Jowl Bossam. Both dishes showcased exceptional execution. The meats were cooked perfectly, but what stood out even more was the precision in preparation. The steak was expertly sliced and incredibly tender--so much so that even with braces, it was effortless to enjoy. The pork jowl achieved an ideal balance between lean meat and luscious fat, creating a rich yet satisfying bite. We enjoyed the meal so much that dessert was non-negotiable. The Matcha Tiramisu was a creative interpretation of the classic. A dome of mascarpone cheese encased ladyfinger biscuits at its center, accompanied by a vibrant matcha ganache sauce. The dessert leaned far less sweet than traditional tiramisu, allowing the earthy matcha and creamy mascarpone flavors to shine. It was elegant, balanced, and a wonderful way to end the meal. Lastly, the service was outstanding. Our server was soft-spoken, patient, and genuinely attentive throughout the evening, making the experience feel warm and welcoming. Considering the quality of the food, thoughtful presentation, ambiance, and service, I found the pricing to be completely justified. As a pleasant surprise, I later learned that Bansang is part of the same restaurant group behind Daeho--a detail that certainly explains the level of quality we experienced.

Granted we were a bit late for our reservation, we ended up having to wait another 30-40 mins. The place (2nd floor) is small & awkward. We were all cramped waiting on the stairway and the actual seating area is also fairly small for a busy KBBQ place/big parties. The 8 of us squeezed into a booth with 2 chairs on the side. You can also feel whenever the table next to us got up and stomped/yelled/moved in their chairs-- which was really often. The basic AYCE menu is fairly limited-- esp for the side options. The marinated meats were pretty good as was the tteokbokki. Side & meat portions were alright, but the kicker is having to flag down staff to make sure they put in the order & bring it out. We asked for japchae about 5 times before it actually reached our table towards the end of our meal. The server/manager also told us that he had accidentally brought out 2 bottles of soju for us and that he'd COMP 1 bottle. We didnt notice that he had actually charged us for 2 and comped/subtracted a "third" one. So none were really comped at all. I just realized after we paid and that felt really sketchy. The wait for the dish was almost 25 mins but all worth it !The complimentary soup and banchan were huge and alright. The servers know what they were doing but one minor thing about my experience was that the waitress served a really really hot dish at her convenience and I had to move it to the center for sharing. Since they're busy they expect you to finish your meal, pay and go.

This is my wife's favorite SF Korean restaurant, so I am glad that she was able to join me on this trip. Actually, my guest was the one that requested Korean today. LOL. Today, my guest ordered the following: Soft Tofu Soup - Complimentary. Now this has the most flavor of all the dishes. It also came out piping hot, see picture. Seafood Pancake - Overall good, I appreciate the precut slices, thanks. Makes eating and dividing easier. Marinated Chicken - Decent portions, tender, etc. But with minimum flavor. Broiled Fish, Broiled Mackerel - My guest loves fish, but she did not eat too much of this. So more food to bring back to the house for her. Stir-Fried Vermicelli - Good, but you can almost not mess this up. Actually, I make a pretty good Japchae. :) Banchan - 9 options; good variety and with decent to generous portions. Actually, all the dishes came out steaming, piping hot, and fresh. If you do not like spicy food, this is the place for you. Most, if not all, dishes including the banchan are not spicy. Atmosphere - Good size local restaurant. Table or booth seating. Private room in the back available. Hibachi style dining available. 2 clean bathrooms. See picture. Open 5 days a week from 11am to 8pm or 9pm, closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Street parking, it was not too bad. I got a space a few blocks away. Service - 3 stars. The owner is typically friendly but did not greet us today?!?! One waitress was extremely more professional than the other. I think the other waitress was in a bad mood?!?! It was not easy asking for stuff, tea refills, water, utensils, more banchan, etc. Price - $120 + tip. Reasonably priced for Korean food, especially because my guest will get another meal out of it from all our leftovers. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since...??? I have been coming here for 20+ years. Maybe 30+ years...? Or am I outdating myself...
