Whenever I travel, one of my biggest concerns is finding good meals. During my trip to San Francisco last February, I ordered food from here and absolutely loved it. i was craving kimbap and had kimbap heaven saved for awhile. the bulgogi kimbap was truly incredible, everything tasted super high quality. the bulgogi was very well seasoned and every bite was a symphony of flavors in my mouth. if you dine in, they also bring you a small soup. i got the small tteokbokki (spicy rice cake) and it was good but not outstanding, i would pass on this next time. the kimbap is definitely what makes this spot excellent!! i would highly recommend kimbap heaven and can't wait to come back. read more

I ordered some Kimbap to go on the Fantuan app. First of all, the gps location of the restaurant is way off...the area this restaurant is located at is the most dangerous part of the SF and the gps was taking me to a complete wrong street and I felt very unsafe considering there were shady people all around me. I checked the google map after. The store location pin does not reflect the correct street. I arrived at the restaurant after the app shows my order is ready to pick up but I ended up waiting more than 30 minutes to get my order. People arrived after me, placed order in store, and got their food before me. I had to wait anxiously in the store worrying about my car which totally killed my appetite. Service was great and it was a very clean & cute restaurant that you can also enjoy your meal there or take home. | visited Kimbap Heaven literally 20 minutes ago for the first time and I have to post about it! I got the fried shrimp kimbap and it was incredibly delicious and fresh! There were a lot of different textures and flavors. There were varying levels of crispness from the fried shrimp and veggies. The pickled daikon was refreshingly bright. I liked that the kimbap was packed with ingredients with a perfect layer of rice. It was filling, especially with the miso soup that came with it. They did a great job renovating the space, which used to be a vegetarian Thai restaurant. It's brighter and feels more open. I took my order to go, but the gentleman who took my order was nice. And I got my food within 15 minutes. I'm definitely coming back to try the rose tteokbokki. read more

I called in at 3:30pm for a pickup order at 5:15pm (14 items!). They called to let me know it wouldn't be ready until 5:40pm due to a sudden surge of orders. It worked out since I was late getting out of work. When I got there around 5:30pm, I still had a bit of a wait but they offered me a seat and water while I waited. There's white zone and yellow zone parking on Willow St, right around the corner. My order was finished around 5:50pm. One of the staff kindly helped me carry my order to my car (3 bags full). When I got home, I was pretty amazed with the amount of food there was. It was all good, only complaint from our group was that some of the rice seemed a bit mushy. Items that I'd order again: Rabboki Rose tteokbokki Bburinkle chicken Musubi kimbap Bulgolgi kimbap Ssam kimbap Things I'd like to try: All their rice plates (My kid loved the tonkatsu rice plate) The interior of the restaurant looked clean and bright. An old sketchy Burger King turned into a high tech Ghost Kitchen. Although it looks like 3 mall food court kiosks, the digital menu is like 15 restaurants. I went with the highest rated on Yelp and did my own pickup with that cool cubby system. Bulgogi Kimbap: Pretty good quality kimbap. Seemingly made-to-order since the rice seemed fresh, unlike the stale rice you get in Korean grocery store kimbap. Had so many nice ingredients in the middle to complement the bulgogi. Really love all those pickled veggies. Musubi Kimbap: Looked nothing like the photo. It was essentially a regular kimbap, but with spam for the meat. So felt a lot more kimbap-like than musubi-like. Tasty, but I the bulgogi version is better. Soy Garlic Wings: It feels a bit pricey to pay $30.40 for 10 wings that you pickup yourself. But they are good quality. Crispy skin with very light battering. No squishy fat underneath, indicating it was probably double-fried so all the fat had been cooked off. Nice tangy soy garlic sauce. read more

I did pick up and found that it was a cloud kitchen. Reminiscent of the restaurant chain of the same name all over Korea, this place specializes in kimbap and other street food items. The kimchi cheese kimbap was amazing. The roll itself was huuuge and it had all the proper authentic filling that you'd see in a kimbap in Korea. I also really appreciated that they didn't not skimp out on the egg--the egg really makes or breaks a kimbap. The ddukbokki was absolutely on par with the street ddukbokki you get in Korea. They used flour based dduk so even after the dish had cooled down the texture of the dduk stayed super chewy. The sauce was also the perfect balance of sweet and spicy. read more

I've tried this place via delivery a couple times now and have been disappointed. The fish cake soup is pretty good but today I got the fried shrimp kimbap and the shrimp had shells on it. I usually don't care enough to leave reviews, but I ordered here for my lunch break (been on kimbap kick), and I was excited for it (cause it was recommended by my coworker). I was so disappointed, and I paid around $12-$14 per roll for online order. I ordered bulgogi, tuna mayo, and veggie kimbap. The bulgogi was so dry, I couldn't even believe it. I added sesame oil and condiments to compensate (usually should have sesame oil on the seaweed anyways). The veggie one was also flavorless and underwhelming. The best one out of the three was the tuna mayo. I usually go to Woori on Fillmore for kimbap, they aren't not even charging half the price, and totally worth it. Or Kingbob, but around or less the price they are charging here. read more

Tteokbokki was on the sweeter side but true to Korean taste. Probably the best chewy texture, shape and size rice cakes ive had that I can remember and ive had many. Personalized Kimbap and Basic Kimbap hit the spot and the free soup on the side really ties the meal together so nicely, helps wash the kimbap down :p No other spot provides the soup. Very efficient concept with the online ordering/locker system, but the food wasn't that great. I got bulgogi kimbap, and the beef was pretty dry and had none of that sweet saucy goodness of bulgogi. Also, there was a huge portion of fake crab stick in middle of the bulgogi roll which tastes pretty odd/unappetizing mixed with beef, and feels like a way to cut back on the beef portion (which was miniscule, probably a pebble of buglogi in each roll). This was my first time trying food from this place, and it was such a delightful experience. As a Korean, I can tell when Korean food is truly good, and this place absolutely deserves a 5-star rating! I ordered Kimbap (tuna and bulgogi), fish cake soup, fried chicken (which was so crispy and perfectly seasoned!), and tteokbokki. These dishes are usually enjoyed as street food in Korea, but here, they've been elevated to something truly special. I'm so grateful to the owner for the love and care they put into their food.
