The groups department told me the only way to accommodate 10 kids was to be the first at the door when they open at 10am. We went here for a bday party. it was a last minute decision on a weekend, so we were not able to book reservations for a party since the corporate office was only open M-F. We were a party of I think 8 teenagers and 4 Jrs. Everything was going fine and dandy until the reserved bday parties started to arrive, which pushed walk-ins into later time slots to continue their laps. We were 1 lap away from everyone completing their 3 lap packages, when we were given the pushed back news. We had already been there since 3p, and here it was 630ish when we were told we may be able to continue our final laps arond 8-830p. We had little kids with us, and work the next day, so that was unacceptable. The manger Ken was awesome! He refunded us for the laps we weren't able to finish, and our memberships. We are planning to do an adult nite here since there is a bar (beer/wine) only. A small snack bar, but you are able to bring in your own food which was great since most places you can't. Just be aware that if you purchase laps online, that price does not include the $8 mandatory membership price per person, but it is cheaper than purchasing laps once you get there. And if you're planning a celebration, reserve with them so you don't get bumped by parties that did. read more

My family and I are big Karting enthusiasts. We didn't realize how well Ken ran this place until our recent trip down to the LA area. We got use to the caring staff at Dublin that kept things moving quickly to improve the customer experience. Ken leads by example so his team follow suit. We were at the Irvine location and it was a total mess. They tried to queue two groups while another session was on the track but it was not efficient. The 1st grid blocked the last group from exiting so it was a long wait. We sat in our karts for 10 with a clear track waiting for stragglers still walking in not on the session yet. Will never go back again. Thanks for spoiling everyone in the Dublin area Ken, you've raised my standard/expectation for K1 and it's unfortunately not met in 3 other K1's we've visited. It's very disappointing to say as I was very excited to come here for the first time. I came here with my boyfriend this past weekend for his birthday. We were racing and there was a lot of safety hazards happening. At one point in the race there was this couple who were playing "bumper" cars and had constantly crashed into my kart at full speed. My body hurts and at one point I couldn't control the wheel because of it. The employees did not tell them to stop which felt like it only caused them to do it more. They began to antagonize me not letting me park the kart and constantly moving the kart backwards to hit my kart. The workers weren't paying attention to anyone parking the karts and were no where to be found but in the front. There was also a previous incident that day right before our race that we saw where two kids had to get ice and get off the track from being hurt from crashing. the employees in charge of my races did not check if I was okay or if they even saw anything that was happening at all. In front of your workers, We exchanged some words with the couple there as I did not appreciate how they treated me and your employees did not stop or say anything. My safety in this premises was compromised and I am paying a lot of money to have a good time in the safe environment you guys are advertising. During this time I had a terrible anxiety attack and my body was hurting that we couldn't even finish what we paid for. we left right after the second race but we paid for 3 races and had a free birthday race. Don't waste your money, paid almost 150 dollars for 6 races (3 for me 3 for my fiancé) and kept having my kart come to a dead stop in the middle of the course multiple times, 2-3 races were completely ruined, first race there was a random caution while my kart was at a stand still a staff member came running up to assist someone and smacked my head, braking my visor off of my helmet and landing in my lap, I yelled at him and asked what the fuck his problem was he just shrugged his shoulders and ran off, I threw the visor at him lol, shortly after another I was told I'd be able to speak to a manager about it, nobody ever came, then for our 3rd and final race, a totally different staff member felt up my fiancé while "adjusting her harnesses" if you wanna go racing pick another K1 this one's fucking trash, even had a staff member tell me their management is shit, never gonna go back lmfao read more

Ordered 3 races for 2. Been over 24 hours and didn't get an email confirmation or anything so I didn't know how to redeem my order. Went to location and they were able to confirm. Though they said it was going to be a 2-3 hours but then said its 1.5 hours. So we went bowling and came back at 7ish as were told. Waited another 45 and still haven't go to our races yet. So by the time our first races start it would have been 8:30. 3 hours from our arrival. They should really have a book time system online. I then asked if I can get a refund and staff said I would have to do it through corporate office and call in. Super weird. It is the weekend so I can't even do that at the moment plus it's a holiday weekend. I don't think I'll be doing K1 ever again after this. Too much hassle. I keep calling 2 different corporate office number and no on pick up. Just take you directly to voicemail after a few rings. It is terrible. read more

I came here with my nephew for his first experience go carting! The actual go carting was fun but the reception gal was very dishonest and rude! She tried forcing my nephew to buy 2 tickets when we said we only need 1 ticket she said that is not possible. We then booked one ticket online and showed her it was possible. As I was preparing to review my experience yesterday, I was reading what people wrote about their experience yesterday. I would have to totally disagree about them being unorganized. Yes it was hot yesterday. Yes me and my family had to wait outside to go in the building. Yes we got a race time 3.5 hours later. It was really busy!! However, they were extremely organized. I watched then clean and sanitize everything after every use. I heard them communicate not only to me and my family about wait times and social distancing, but to everyone in line. This was our first time here and with what's going on in the world we felt safe at this place. The staff did extremely well and the manager running the door made sure things flowed at the best of his ability. We will definitely be back. I think next time we'll come back during the week. They told us it's a lot less busy and we'll get to do more races. read more

If I could give this location zero stars, I would! Horrible customer service from the staff and especially the shift supervisor today. I went in here today looking to enjoy a Sunday with my family racing, but walked out wasting almost 4 hrs of not only my own time but my whole family's time on a Sunday no less! When I initially got there, I registered and signed in. I was told I had to wait for 2 hrs til we could race ... ok not a problem, I get how these things work. 2 hrs later and I'm told it will be another hour. Ok fine we'll wait another hour (since my boys really wanted to do this). All this while I am seeing people that came in with us 2 hrs earlier walking out because they were done with their races. An hour later I'm told it will be another hour! AND that is when it became unacceptable! Shift supervisor comes out and says, " you and your family were never put in line to race." SO I basically wasted over 3 hrs of my family's time waiting for nothing! I requested that we be put into the next race to fix this issue or give us our money back. I am in the service industry myself and have been for over 20 years and you never want to give people back their money ... you fix the issue! Especially if it is your fault! Money given back is always the last resort if you've tried absolutely everything and that shift supervisor did not try everything! He is terrible at customer service. Reading the reviews on this K1 location, this location has a customer service issue. They should hire better people that care about the business and even more so, about people. If I could give 0 stars I absolutely would. This place is so unprofessional, we called a day ahead of time to see if we can make a reservation for 5, they told me we can't be it has to be walk in the day of. We get here at 1pm to see if we can walk in or make a time and they told us come back at 9pm but we had to pay first. We go to pay and the system goes down, we wait about 15 min it comes back up and as soon as we go to pay goes down again. The manager tells us that we can just go and he will save our slot and for us to get here at 8:30 for our 9:10 slot. We come back at 8:30 & these 2 young ladies sat here with attitude and all saying that they can't do anything. Telling us we can come back at midnight and that's the best they can do. As we are going through this there's another customer upset next to us because he got charged for the wrong persons account. ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS & 10/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND read more

The worst experience ever. Management does not seem to know how to run the business. I called the day before to get the logistics, time, appointment and so on. I was informed by Dublin staff that my party was to small to schedule an appointment and that I could just walk-in during open hours. That was not the case We arrived at 3:00pm our first race was at 8:30. Can you believe that! Very poor management. Never, never again will I come to K1 Speed in Dublin, they suck big time. Wait was 2.5 hours for myself, my 13 year old, and my 11 year old to get on the track. That is after the other 15 min in the disorganized line to pay, and way over the 1 hr and 20 min wait they predicted for us. Then, the grumpy, unfriendly staff on the track were impatient to all of us, rude to my girl who had never driven a go cart EVER, and did not penalize an aggressive rider effectively in our batch that rammed my kids multiple times. Then, after a total time in that place of 3.5 hours and paying for a "membership" and 2 races x 3 people and only having one, they made us get out, and get in line again for another 30+ minutes in order to get our second ride. (We didn't stay.) We will go back to Umigo instead. read more

*My son and I Showed up on a (disclaimer; during pandemic) Tues night at 6 PM, 30 mins after opening for A rare drift night event. Could only get tickets for 8:30 race, that's fine because I didn't order ahead of time. Bought 2 races each, a ( sort of short 6 minute) drift race and a regular race (10 minutes?) for 80.00. Asked how close our races could be, and was informed our races would be "about 30 mins apart, and show up around 8 we might get you in earlier". Came back before 8, our first race wasn't until 9:00 and 2nd race ended up after 10:00. 4.5 hours spent for 2 races not more than 16 minutes total. Asked for 2nd race refund at one point but they talked me into waiting "just a little bit longer" but was a LOT longer. Didn't get home until very late on a school night. Very disappointing. Sure am glad I didn't renew our soon to expire annual membership. (10 Days.) I think we are done after that experience. *Risk during COVID epidemic; very few racers were made aware to place helmets on a different shelf after use, for disinfection. Most were not getting sprayed between uses. Even my son commented on the COVID spread risk. But they were limiting amount of people entering to register. And every one was masked. (Only kudos for the night) * Drifting works by adding slip rings over back tires. They slide off a bit requiring techs to soft-hammer them back into place occasionally. Both my son's and my cart needed the rings repositioned. mine were rubbing on the external bumper frame. I nicely asked the guy behind all the carts if he needed to fix our back tires that needed repositioning and all I got was a nasty defensive " Let me do my job, man!" And ignored my question. I know it's probably a sucky place to work but if you do you gotta be nice to your customers. Or go get a non customer facing job. read more

So far not so good turned out to be ok. I had sent an email to the Corp sale office to plan our birthday party. Sergio and I talked and he didn't have the dates available that I wanted. So I told him I would need to call him back after making sure future dates worked for us. I had wrote down the wrong extension for Sergio, so I left a message on the Corp. headquarters voice mail explaining that I was looking for Sergio, but never got a call back. I called 3 more time and was never able to talk to anyone in person. Each time having to leave a message. Finally, resent an e-mail and Sergio email me, and it had is phone number and extension. I call at least 3 times and he never answer, left voice mails. Finally, he email me to let me know what day worked. We finally agreed on the date. He sent me the credit card form to take the 50% non-refundable deposit. Sent me a confirmation. In the confirmation they say that they need the final head count 3 days from the party date, NEVER heard from them to confirm. Called the GM at the Santa Clara K1, Juan Sandoval, to find out if they supply everything for the party or if we needed to bring decoration. cake and utensils. Guess what, it went voice mail, this is at 11:30 am. So far the customer service is a joke, I just need a couple answers to make my sons party a success. We will see how the party goes and I will edit may post accordingly. But if we end up waiting more than 15 minutes to start racing my edited review may not change. To Jane D Business Customer Service- Please do not write back and tell me your sorry that the place we busy when we arrived or whatever excuse you want to tell me. After saying that to every bad review it falls on deaf ears. Your customer service stinks, obviously, you are short staff in the Corp head quarters and the Santa Clara store. In stead of apologizing you need to fix these problems. Ok - just got back from my son's birthday party at K1 in Santa Clara. I still have a problem with the customer service and not being able to talk to a person before actually going to the party. But once we got to the place to run the races it actually ran very smooth. I had the group show up a half hour early to fill out the waivers, but I than found out that you could submit the waiver online (something a phone call could have let me know). but not a big deal, all my guest showed up on time. Bella the party planner at the Santa Clara track was great, she was professional and kept the us on time. The room was ready after the 2nd race, and the pizza was served right away. It turned out to be a very good time and the kids really had a great time. I would recommend this track, but I would ask for Bella to run your party. Be prepared that the customer service stink and you my not hear from them before the actual party date. I think parents need to understand how dangerous this place can be. My nephew hit a wall and slowed down a bit when my son came around a corner and ran directly into him. There was little or no time to react and he ended up on top of him. My son's entire car was sitting on top of my nephew, with a wheel pressing into my nephew's shoulder. This was frightening. My brother and I saw the event unfold and went to attend to my nephew. I have since read another review that this happened to another driver. They really need to address the safety issues with these cars. They reluctantly provided a refund for our unused races but we still paid for an annual membership we will never use. read more

THIS PLACE IS PRETTY AWESOME!!! And not for the weak hearted!! I literally LOL'd at one of the other reviews for being refused due to not having the right shoes... It's a LEGIT high performance go kart racing experience... Don't hate because they care about your safety... COME PREPARED TO RACE!!! They let you race your little heart out, so be prepared to go fast, spin out, and maybe even wipe out and crash. I was amazed to see they were electric because you couldn't tell with the exception of the absence of the smell of gasoline. Prepare for long waits over the weekend, and they don't have in house food, with the exception of snacks... No outside food and drinks allowed.. read more

They have a serious scheduling problem. Called last Monday to ask about wait times on a Saturday night. Was told... No reservations but no problem. Just show up. Came at 6 pm and told 3 hour wait. But I could pay now to guarantee our spot. Paid and then went to dinner to kill time. Came back at 8 pm (an hour before our 3 hours was up) and my wife was told it would now be 10 pm before all 6 of us could ride. Politely but firmly went to the counter and explained that the original time commitment had to be honored. To their credit, they fit us in. But between the original bad information on the phone, ridiculous original scheduled wait and my wife bring ignored by a staffer (yes, male)... We are never going back. I hope they remain this busy as they will need the overflow of customers if they treat so many like they did us. read more

What a blast! These karts are pretty fast, and as long as your not hitting people. They pretty much let you race!

After the yelp review I left, the company reached out via email. However the email was located in my junk mail. Aziz reached out and called me to review my complaint. He acknowledged my complaint and reviewed some company guidelines which I was unaware of. When you make reservations for 8 people you will be charged that amount even if all in the party do not show up. Aziz was kind enough to refund me the amount for the people who did not show. My son was home from college and we came In for a drop in and were told it was a two hour waite because of a party. They suggested to come back in the morning so we dis only to be.told.it wqs another 2 hour waite. We did call numerous times before we left to be sure, but they never answered the phones. Been here 2 weeks in a row love it! Just have one complaint on my second time there was this guy bumping a lot and very dangerously on track the guys/marshals didn't do or notice until I pointed it out after the race. They should be more aware and punish or have a talk with them since someone can get hurt, they should use the flags more often as-well since its hard to know what's happening with out them. At first they'll give you half the power so you get to grips and then they'll give you full power quite fun! My second time was a busy day we had to wait for like 1:30 so we bought the race left and came back 30 minutes before everything else went great the staff did great although they do need to be more aware for safety since el they didn't go over the safety procedures for the cars before we got on, but overall it was an amazing time and experience! Cool place to go, albeit a little pricey. It's 20 bucks per race, but if you get 2 races they charge only 38. The more races, the bigger discount. I went with a group of four and everything was great, the first time they even let us race by ourselves. We didn't have that much of a turnaround time and were back on the track for a bigger race with more people. The electric carts themselves are quick and some of them can corner really well. Also, you realize what the days before power steering were like cause you have to use some effort to turn the wheels. Well worth it. read more

My 17 year daughter had a party on 5/7/2022. Communication with booking was great. We had a big party of 16 drivers. I was told upfront that the groups would be divided evenly and that there would be races in between our big group. Not a problem. I prefer to be notify of everything upfront so I can plan accordingly. Honestly the kids and adults needed a break after the first race. The staff was well informed and made sure our whole group felt comfortable. Even when members of our group had a small crash, the staff was right there and kept everyone safe. The pizza is not the best but honestly isn't that part of birthday parties. Crappy pizza but loads of fun and memories. I would definitely do this again. My advice is just to come early so the wait is shorter. read more

This place ALWAYS has issues. I come in early to avoid the crowds but every time I do that they either have a staffing shortage, or don't open on time, or have a power outage. It's unfortunate because it's nice facility, great short track and closest track to me. Drove 30 minutes to get here just to get turned away for a power outage. Staff was not attentive to the drivers or wrecks, too busy looking everywhere but the track, unfortunate experience. Multiple cars hit my sons car pretty hard until the staff stepped in to check on him. They don't take into account first time drivers vs the more experienced ones and the staff is not managing against the rules. Definitely will not go back. read more

Horrible experience and will definitely not be back. First it took far too long to even pay for the number of races my family and I wanted. Then as we were waiting for our turn, we could see 2-3 idiots on the track not even racing but rather playing bumper cars, purposely trying to hit people. (It was so obvious). The rules are clear on the large banner and on their website that there is no bumping. It was pretty clear that these idiots wanted only to hit people and not race. You would expect the workers to warn them or kick them out, but their workers were just as idiotic as these "racers." They did absolutely nothing. Unfortunately when it was our turn these 2-3 bumper car enthusiasts continued with the next race and continued the same shit. As I avoided bumping one of them with my car, the other one hit me from behind so hard that my visor popped completely off my helmet and went onto the track. Of course the 3 workers didn't noticed or care and they continued their wreckless bumper car style driving for the remained of the race. After we complained, they gave us a free race for next time. Laughable because we won't be back and we didn't want a free race. You probably should have refunded us to make up for our crappy time due to your incompetent workers. I highly advised everyone else to take their money somewhere else unless you want to play idiotic bumper cars instead of racing. *For people reading this, I never leave bad reviews. If I could summarize it with one word it would be ADRENALINE!!!! This is nothing like go kart racing at the mini golf. These karts are freaking fast and electric so its instant torque. This was my first time going and I'm still shaking from the rush. It was such a thrill. A couple of things you should know: You can't reserve or book a time unless you are physically there. The only exception is if you do a group reservation of minimum 8 people. Not sure how much that runs but next time I come back I am definitely rounding up my friends and taking them with me. Your experiences may vary depending on which random people you get stuck with. I would highly recommend doing a group reservation if you can. We walked in around 8pm and it took us an hour to get on the track. The staff told me that on the weekends it gets pretty packed. If you just wanna go with a friend or date just plan on organizing the day in Dublin. Check in here first and then go out to eat/drink etc. They do have an arcade and pool table to stay entertained in case you want to wait it out. They also have a bar and food but you can't drink alcohol if you plan on racing. Pricing. You have to have a membership to race here which is $7 as of this review. One race is $25. I think you're selling yourself short if you only do one race, especially if this is your first time. 2 is a perfect amount IMO. You do 12 laps but believe me it flies by; One lap is around 20-22 seconds depending on how you drive. You can pay for the races and use them for another time. We plan on coming back so we ended up buying 5 races for $80 and that includes the membership too. Experience: Do not underestimate this activity it is freaking intense when you are at full throttle. The adult karts can go up to 45 MPH and trust me when you are on the twisty bits and drifting on the corner your heart is pounding. After my first race I was shaking from the adrenaline rush. They give you a head sock that you have to wear and then the helmet so it can get a bit stuffy. I would recommend not wearing too many layers. Also try to leave your possessions in your car (bag/purse/sweater/etc). They have a communal shelf to leave your stuff in when you're about to race but I didn't feel comfortable leaving my stuff there cos they would have gotten stolen. It would be cool if they had lockers. We had to stop the race b/c someone's wallet fell out while driving and that was really inconvenient. The karts can be remotely controlled from the staff if something like that happens. They suddenly lose speed and slow to a crawl. Feedback for the staff/management: They really don't do a good job of preparing us for the race. They'll read off a laminated paper about the rules and what the flags mean but TBH they really just throw you out to the lions. I wish before the actual race started we could do a lap around the course at half speed just to get a feel for the track before letting us go full throttle. Your experiences will vary as far as driving etiquette. We were in a group of randoms that were very rude and immature. I got hit a few times and I was disappointed that no warnings were issued. When I left to the parking lot my car had been vandalized (someone tossed their fountain drink at the hood of my car). It really did put a damper on the experience and I will only come back if I do a group reservation. Honestly this was a really memorable experience and I highly recommend it to anyone who has driving experience. If you ever wanted to drive fast and test your limits but in a safe environment this is the way to go. Or if you want an awesome date night this is perfect adventure. read more

NOT COVID SAFE- Went for a group event and was very dissatisfied. No Covid protocols in place. All kiosks that were shared were not wiped down between people. The go karts were not sanitized between riders. The helmets were treated with minimal spray only inside - the outsides were not treated at all. I saw multiple people try on helmets and put them back on the clean helmet shelving. I am in healthcare and this is a horrible display of trying to open up safely. I am worried about the safety of the public at this venue. We will never go back. read more

Checking out this track for the first time and like Santa Clara this place is awesome! It's kind of busy so we expected some waiting. So what! You get to race these totally awesome electric high performance race carts! Fast acceleration, challenging course and some people that really don't know how to drive! It all adds up to a ton of fun!
