-Fun carts -Friendly staff -Interesting track layout -Good safety wall -High fun factor The cars have a good amount of grip, speeds are about as high as they can be without endangering drivers. That being said, what you really need to watch out for are bad drivers. They can be overaggressive and run you into a wall, or they can be painfully slow. Be aware of other cars and the line you take. That being said it is a bit difficult to get information on the fastest racing line. In the couple of times that I was here the fastest guys (semi-pros?) were a bit snobbish with a beginner asking questions, perhaps it is the competitive nature of the sport, or perhaps because they were just irritated at the thought of some noob messing up their runs (which is why it is good to help). Me: Have you done this before? SemiPro: Have I done this before?! I was driver of the month! *Points to wall* See that car up there? I drive that! Me: Wow that's really cool, I love the art of road racing, I've done autocross. SP: This is waaay different from autocross. Its addictive. Me: So what do you think is the best line through that hairpin? SP: *looks at the track, doesn't say anything* Anyway I had one of the best lap times for any first timer and had loads of fun. Even getting a pass on Mr. Semi Pro at one point as he tried to overtake another car. My only gripe is that the ranking system only counts the one fastest lap in the race results and the point rankings. For example you can run a 28.5 second lap 13 times in a row, and "Lose" to someone that ran a 28.3 second lap one time even though all their other laps were run in the 30 second range and your position is way farther on the track than theirs. In this regard it is more like autocross or qualifying than road racing because the point standings do not reward repeated lap consistency. Advice for beginners: -Attack the corners with gusto, you should get a good workout -Try to maximize the abilities of the tires -Make any driver inputs smoothly -Properly apex the turns -Do NOT bump other cars as it can lead to injury and wasted runs read more

Went here for a company event. Had a bunch of speeders in the group. Got in and then drove. Felt like it was faster than Speedzone. Some areas it seem can you can drift and spin out. We got food (pizza) delivered to us which was very cool that we could bring our own food. Would I go again.... maybe not since racing is not my thing but everyone definitely had fun. read more

Got invited to a business meeting and 3 races, business meeting lasted about 40 minutes and then we got into the racing, so the first impression is that it looks fun, the electric carts go fast enough and the course has some twists and turns to challenge drivers. My previous experience with Kart racing was at an outdoor course and most of the cars were too small for me. These carts were also too small and I couldn't sit all the way down in the seat so it was kind of difficult to drive, I still made it around the track for the whole race but the times could have been much better and it was really fun, if they had carts that would fit taller people than I would do it again. Some of the things I learned Driving these little Karts is a WORKOUT; you need to be in shape, free from back, shoulder and knee problems and able to get up from a seat 6 inches off the ground. Also being less than 6 foot is probably a good idea. Drivers are athletes; it looks easy sitting in a seat for a few hours going around a track, but it's really a lot of work. So after my less than stellar first race, my old aching body decided we had enough for the day, just too much work to and I knew I would pay for it in the morning so with some reluctance I retired from the world of indoor Kart racing (at least until they have bigger Karts). The people were really nice, the facility was clean, since it was a week night there were not too many people there and they give you a print out of your times after each race. read more

I brought my boyfriend here for his birthday and surprised him with his buddies. We couldn't have came at a better time: Halloween special 3 races for $30!!! The staff was really friendly, and we all had a great time! The only thing is maintenance on the carts: they had to switch out a cart during 2 of our 3 races due to battery and other issues. Came here a couple of weeks ago with my boyfriend. I've never been go-kart racing before so I was a little scared at first, but once I got the hang of it, it was a lot of fun! The front desk ladies (not sure what to call them...) they were very friendly. Helped us out a lot since it was our first time. The guys who actually ran the track...could be a little more cheerful. I forgot to look at his name, but when I went the guy who was at the podium explaining the rules and such, didn't seem like he enjoyed it very much. I understand that he probably explains the rules many times, but come on; if you're irritated, you don't need to be that obvious about it. Also, he went through the process really fast and I didn't quite understand everything; didn't want to ask him questions, since he looked annoyed. :/ But anyways, the good points: facility/equipment were all clean. I came here on a scouting trip just to see how it was and if I wanted to bring a bunch of friends. It was a Tuesday afternoon and the place was literally empty except for 2 people driving around. I paid the $20 for a race after walking around and hey....it's pretty fun to race around! I mean this is no Speedzone with the full size karts, but it's still a good track and being indoors helps. I hear a lot of complaints that the wait can be long, and I see that the place is built and arranged for large groups of people. There are a lot of couches and tables, along with pool tables and like 3 arcade games. It leaves me to wonder that wouldn't people get bored? there is only so much TV you can watch (and there are TV's all over the place) before you just start staring at the people racing in go karts. Overall this place seems like a fun place to bring a huge group of friends, provided everyone arrives on time and you don't miss your reservation. read more

Came here yesterday as a present from my girlfriend. Was very skeptical having raced on 50-250cc karts in the past on outdoor tracks as to how the electric versions would hold up. They were fast and the corners much tighter than on their 2 stroke equivalents which gives the illusion of speed. Definitely fun though and the indoor surface was very grippy allowing some pretty high g-forces on cornering. As a first time racer you will be put with other beginners, they start you off with your speed limited for the first lap or two then as the marshalls recognise your skill level they increase your speed. By midway through the first race I was at full power and handling the car goes from being something mundane to a bit of a thrill! Not the cheapest but I highly recommend going there. The wait time was quite long so it may be better to book in advance. read more

I've been to their Torrance, Irvine, and Anaheim locations and they all are pretty similar. It kind of feels like everyone is a motorhead who knows everything about cars and watches Nascar weekly, but most of the racers are pretty friendly. They offer a lot of discounts on their races and may as well buy 3 races instead of two. Very pricey. $50 for 3 races and each lasts only about 10 minutes long. If you've gone to a lot like me you'll probably be stuck in a race with 3 or 4 good drivers and the rest of the pack that just gets in the way and stops the race by crashing. You can expect to be forced to stop by some nitwit that either ran into the wall or their buddy. The locations are always in some refurbished warehouse in the industrial side of town. It's open nearly all day, but if you find you can't always get a partner to attend for the adrenaline rush then evenings and weekends are best for find opponents. Racing only two or three people is fun, but it's hard to get in more than one race when there is no one there. The carts are actually fast (up to 40mph) so it's fun, until you try and shave off every second. Sometimes you get stuck with a cart with a bad wheel, or stiff steering wheel, and tires with no grip that slide and those affect your time. Worst thing about the whole experience. They also offer monthly tournaments, but are also pretty pricey at about $100. They include the best racers and you can get a trophy. Torrance has probably the smallest track. Anaheim has a small tunnel. For Irvine they combine both tracks into one giant one for the tournament. read more

The battery of the cars keeps breaking up and keep postponing the race. I was waiting for 2 hours and I asked the estimate time and they say maybe in another hour but is not guarantee so I requested a refund after 2 hours of wasting my time. I wanted to give Laura a shout out for amazing customer service and enthusiastic attitude! She definitely made the wait worth it. Coming here for drift night and being told there's a three hour wait is not what I want to hear. I was reserved to wanting to pay for one race and never come back. Laura's bright attitude made it seem like a non-factor and informed me of the 3 race sale which I ended up taking due to no expiration. She upsold it to me when it was the last thing on my mind. Pretty easily too. Although karting here is a blast, I probably wouldn't have been back for a long while. While we expected just old fashioned go karts, we were absolutely blown away by the facilities and how advanced everything is. The staff was great, especially Daniel the manager! I had a blast there with the group I went with. Employees are nice, although they can control your speed and not give you full power. I got passed like 4 times and then all a sudden a boost of power. One race tho i believe it was rigged, I got the checkered flag twice and had to do around to the end at a snails pace. Needless to say I came in last. And for some reason although I came in like 3rd of 4th or 5th my number wasn't on the board. But I went there to have fun and that's what happened, wasn't really competing just there for fun. read more

Went to K1 for my boyfriend's birthday and dragged along some friends as well. K1 is a bit pricey, but definitely a great place for friends and family to get together and express their competitive streak. We all had alot of fun and the time passed in the blink of an eye. Surprisingly, all the racing drained our energy and worked up our appetites lol. Wear something loose because you'll be sweaty and dying underneath the helmets and after each race. Will be back again in the near future. Maybe for my boyfriend's 23rd. Be safe and don't get all banged and bruised up like I did. Shit hurts :'( read more

Believe the reviews, don't waste your money here! First time trying this place out today at 7 pm, had already purchased 2 races online and when greeted by the cashier he pointed us in the direction to make our accounts (required for all new racers) then spoke to us about how things would go and told us our race would be within a hr. About 45 minutes pass and I go to ask more information about how we'll know it'll be our turn. The girl cashiers begins to look for our names and turns out the first guy I spoke to never even put our name down in the system and we had to wait an additional hour and a half!! What a JOKE, we had other things planned for tonight and we spent the whole night waiting at k1 speed. And not to even mention the 10 minute race was definitely NOT worth that wait. Instead of leaving with happy faces we left with major headaches. Would never recommend this place to anyone read more

This is the worst customer service I've ever had. The young lady working behind the desk was rude and short. When my daughter decided not to ride, I asked to refund the ride just for her. Without telling me they voided they whole transaction and wanted to re-charge the cc, which then takes double the amount out of my acct until the voided one is refunded from the bank prolly 3-5 bus days. When I expressed my frustration to the manager and turned my back to tell my kids something, she proceeded to talk about me rudely. I understand this is a minimum wage job, but cmon! My son celebrated his birthday party tonight. Overall, the kids all really enjoyed themselves, but the 3 stars is mostly about their organization. They were delayed, which meant a lot of waiting. They gave us some tokens for the arcade games, which was greatly appreciated and nice of them, but they only filled up a short portion of the time. Waiting so long is really hard for a bunch of young kids. The other part that was frustrating is that drinks were included for the party room, but they didn't actually bring them out until 40 minutes later. That means all the pizza was already eaten and the kids kept asking about drinks. Organization felt poor. The racing itself was a really good time. read more

Great place for date, though it is kinda on the pricey side and Elizabeth the cashier, was nice and guided us through our first time. Though there were lots of racers during the time we went, they also said there was no bumping, but didn't end up doing anything when some guy rear ended me. Thankfully I had a helmet on and didn't get a concussion.
