Pepperoni pizza that they left in too long (as you can see) had to eat around certain parts. Smh
    Trish B.

I gave this location (2) stars for the staff when you come in to register (they were helpful and welcoming) and because of my food (which took a while to order because the girl who took our orders seemed like she was not all there --for lack of better words-- she made the ordering process longer and difficult than it needed to be). The biggest issue was a staff around the track --this (1) girl in particular appeared to be having too much fun slowing certain go-karts down with her red remote, imo. But I'll get back to that in a sec. We decided to eat first: Food was okay-- ordered pepperoni pizza (they almost left it in too long and some of the crust was burnt. Had to break those pieces off and eat around it) and Pepsi in a bottle. My bro got sliders, wings, tots and Pepsi. His food took a while so we couldn't really eat together. Ended up sharing my food while we waited for his to come out -- which was weird since we were the only ones there who had ordered anything. When his food finally arrived he ate some of it and threw the rest away --guess he wasn't impressed. He mentioned it was "decent". Now to the races: Multiple people came and bumped me trying to get past me --never saw her slow their go-carts down but she definitely slowed down me and my bro multiple times when we were the ones getting bumped continuously. It got to the point where I just purposely stayed the last racer just to try and enjoy the experience and made no attempts to move up the ranks. Idk what the men's restroom looked like but the women's restroom had lots of gnats! Paper towels overflowing from the discard. Important to note: For as many staff as they had lollygaging around near the track you would think the place would be spotless. There weren't a whole lot of customer so definitely some staff could've been putting in some time and effort to clean around the place. Ultimately: We paid for (3) races. Ended up only using (2) mutually agreeing it was time to get outta there. Leaving the 3rd race on our accounts for another visit that we will be using at ANOTHER LOCATION. No I don't recommend and doubt I'd be returning. This review is reflective of my visit on 11/7/25 Duration of stay around 2hrs.

I came here with family on a special day, on your birthday you can get a free lap. K1 is location in the city of Gardena, this one open it door's in 2008 there is lot of free parking here, there are over 40 K1 locations. Once you register by self sign in and get a K1 annual license to race plus get discount on apparel's and accessories, the staff give you info. and Instruction, you are given a head sock assign a car, 12 laps is about $28.95 The electric cars are 20 horse power 0.45 in 2.5 sec. can reach 45 mph. that is top notch go karting. All of the staff here were very nice and helpful, this was so much fun and I can't wait to get back here.

The automatic doors parted before me like the gates to a forbidden arena. My heart pounded--not from fear, but from anticipation. The smell hit me first: burning rubber mixed with ozone, a bouquet that spoke of countless battles fought on these very tracks. I approached the counter, signed the waiver with trembling hands. This was it. My initiation into the world of electric velocity. The safety briefing washed over me. Speed limits. Racing lines. Flags. But my mind was already elsewhere, imagining the perfect lap, the flawless execution of every turn. Then I saw it: the kart. Sleek. Silent. Deadly. I lowered myself into the molded seat, gripped the steering wheel. The moment my foot touched the accelerator, everything changed. The instant torque slammed me back into my seat! No engine roar, no warming up--just pure, unadulterated acceleration that felt like being shot from a cannon! The first corner approached rapidly. I braked--perhaps too hard--and felt the rear end slide ever so slightly. My pupils dilated. This was it. This was the dance. Turn two. I remembered the instructor's words. Brake early. Apex late. Accelerate through. My body moved on instinct, finding the rhythm, becoming one with the machine. By lap three, everything crystallized. The track revealed its secrets to me. That slight banking in corner four. The deceptive tightness of the chicane. Each revelation was a flavor explosion on my palate--bitter defeat transformed into sweet victory! Other racers surrounded me. I could feel their presence, their fighting spirit! We weaved through corners in formation, each seeking that perfect line, that extra tenth of a second. When I finally executed a flawless outside pass on the long straight, my entire body surged with electricity! The laps blurred together in a symphony of speed. Left, right, brake, accelerate--a recipe perfected through repetition, each iteration bringing me closer to nirvana. And then, too soon, the checkered flag. My final time flashed on the screen. I stumbled from the kart, legs shaking, heart racing, a massive grin splitting my face. The other racers gathered around the timing board, comparing battle scars and bragging rights. This wasn't just fun. This was transcendent. This was speed distilled to its purest essence, served at precisely the right temperature to ignite the soul! K1 Speed had delivered a five-star experience that left me hungry for more.

5 stars for Artur and the team at K1 Speed Torrance! He did a phenomenal job organizing both the July and August GP events. Every driver knows how frustrating kart issues or unfair calls can be, but Artur ensured all the karts ran at peak performance throughout the event with no breakdowns. The atmosphere was competitive, the officiating was spot-on, and the racing was as fair as it gets. Looking forward to the next one!

    Customer service- food

Horrible customer service. The food took forever, which I was understanding about at first, but not how the situation was handled after they messed up my order. We already waited 30-40 minutes for the race, and even after the kids finished racing, our food still was not ready. I finally had to walk up and ask about it, and they pulled the food out of the warmer. The biggest issue is I never even ordered a hot dog. I specifically ordered the giant pretzel, yet somehow they gave me a wrinkled hot dog instead. When I pointed it out, the employee was dismissive and unapologetic. I would have kept but it look dehydrated and shriveled up, but was told that's how they all look.  He told me the previous employee charged me wrong and made me go get my credit card again to pay a $2 difference. After waiting that long and getting the wrong food, I asked if they could at least credit the $2 because of the inconvenience. He refused and said my only options were to pay the difference or get a refund. I'm also including a photo because the lack of professionalism and customer care was honestly shocking. While dismissing my concerns, he seemed far more interested in flirting another female co-worker, than resolving the issue. I drove a long way to come to this K1 location, and after this experience, I will never come back. Mistakes happen, but customer service matters.

I came here for a birthday party for one of my wife's close friends. I looked into what was in store on YouTube. I bought gloves. In a geek. The first set of laps was getting used to it. I placed 7/9 in that first round, so I started 7th in the final race. I finished 3rd, though I had a better average lap time and better best lap time than #2. It was fun. I'm an attorney, so I'm competitive. I was competitive in school, in academic debate, and as a lawyer. So I was competitive here. I hope that I wasn't a jerk. I saw other people ram into others and cut them off. The boyfriend of the birthday girl ran her into a wall. I didn't do that. It was an interesting human behavior observation experience. So this activity brings out competitive urges. Finishing 3rd made me happy, though I actually passed the other guy before the finish line. Did I mention I'm competitive? The people who work here are young. But they're nice and do a good job. The whole thing was pretty fun. I'd do this again. But I'd also want to get better at this. Did I mention I was competitive?

Still no refund. They cancelled our package and charged us twice. Horrible establishment. Do not spend your money here. They ruined my son's birthday.

DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU WANT A CONSISTENT RACE. Many of the cars are busted--on the final race (of 3), my car randomly stopped three times. I would be going at full speed and then it would just power down and come to a complete stop. The third time, I wasn't even able to finish the lap because the car just wouldn't turn on again. And this wasn't even an isolated incident, as my friend's car also experienced issues related to sudden power cuts. The speaker system was also really bad in the facility. While it was loud, the employees words would be jumbled into a mess, making it really hard to hear when they call your name for the races. Overall, while it was fun when the karts were working, the faulty karts made the entire experience terrible. I would definitely recommend finding another K1 Speed.

    Very nice workers!

I had so much fun going with a group. The workers were very friendly and helpful, especially this guy and there was another guy with short hair who was also really helpful. I'll be coming again with my family

Ask the Community - K1 Speed

Is the annual license good for other k1 locations?

Hi Danny, the annual license is good for any K1 Speed indoor location. See you on the track!

When purchasing the amount of races, is the helmet included with the fee or the helmet has a separate fee?

    It's included

What is the age requirement to drive/ride?

It's by height. My son is 8 years old but is taller than most kids his age so was able to drive alone with the younger group.

    Do they accept walk ins?

Hello, Lucy! Yes, we do accept walk-ins! In fact, we've got Arrive & Drive race experiences just for that! However, wait times may vary depending on the day, time, and what events we have scheduled. Typically weekdays have shorter wait times for…

Is there a promotion right now? There's only packages up 3 races what if I want to do 5-6 races?

We offer a 5-race package, you just have to ask our front desk for the price. It's kind of like a secret menu..

Do we get to keep the cotton masks you hand out?

Hello, Sarah! Yes! The headsocks we give you are yours to keep and can be reused during your next visits!

Hello, can we bring a birthday cake to the facility?

    Yes

Approximately how long is one race?

Hello Candice! Each race is 12 laps which takes anywhere between 6-10 minutes depending on the speed of the fastest racer. Hope this helps answer your question! We look forward to seeing you soon at our track!

Does everyone need their license to drive in here?

Hey Tony! A Driver's License is not required to race at K1 Speed. We just need you to meet our height requirements and reach the pedals safely: 4' for junior karts, 4'10" for adult karts. You will need an Annual Membership to race, however. We sell…

Is it only one person per Go cart?

Hello Laura! Thanks for your interest in K1 Speed!…

    Is the food good?

It's delicious, Jeanette! But the best way to find out is by trying it yourself! Hope to see you soon!

I'm a big guy, what's the weight limit to ride and enjoy it?

Hey Darien! The weight limit is 300 lbs. We've had some pretty big guys from the NFL in our karts, so unless you think you might be bigger than them, you should be fine! See you at the track!

I have a brother that only has use of one leg. Would he be able to drive the kart?

I don't see why not!! He should be able to drive the Kart!!

My strange daughter wants to have her sweet 16 at a go kart place. Do you recommend this facility for a group of 15 older teenagers?

I'm also lowkey cheap and don't like to spend too much at theme parks. Metro B/Red Line accessibility + shuttles: Perfect. Once you leave the station, you have to cross a bridge that takes you to a shuttle stop that will pick you up and transport you to the parking lot + Universal City for free. If you are unfamiliar, just follow the crowd. I recommend Park & Ride using the train, if possible. Universal City: Mostly shops and restaurants. If you don't want to eat the theme park food, this is where you go before or after your visit. I only go here for the Hot Topic. Entry: Fast and easy, way easier than I anticipated. It is a theme park, not a stadium, so regular Loungefly/Bioworld mini backpacks are allowed and often worn by guests. We had to go through a bag check and then walk through Universal City to the actual theme park gates to go inside. Cleanliness: Very clean. That's all I have to say. No complaints. Crowds: It was a Thursday afternoon, so it wasn't as bad compared to the weekend. There was a good number of people because it's Universal Studios, and it was after 2 PM. Most people came for Horror Nights since the park closes off to daytime guests after a certain time of the day. All I can say is that the cheaper the ticket, the less the crowding, since tickets are priced based on demand, if I am not mistaken. Food: Comparable to most venue and stadium food... I skipped it. Very expensive for the quality and taste. Atmosphere: Hogsmeade is a VIBE and is my favorite area of the park. Super Nintendo World felt like a cash grab, but that's just me, as a lot of people seemed to love it. The other areas of the park did not feel as memorable to me, but I appreciate their artistic design. I did not visit the Minion or Secret Life of Pets areas, as those are more child-oriented. Maybe it would've been more fun if I were younger or went with friends, but I visited as a solo adult, so it hits differently. Rides: The main reason why I came here. I went on a good number of the rides, and I can say that the motion simulators are better than the roller coasters (unless you experience motion sickness). The Mario Kart ride for me was the most disappointing, but it was partially because of a skill issue on my end. I really enjoyed Flight of the Hippogriff, Transformers: The Ride 3D, Jurassic Park Ride, and The Simpsons Ride. Harry Potter and The Forbidden Journey, for me, was the scariest, since I didn't know what to expect beforehand, but it was a trip! Also, when they say that you will get wet on that Jurassic Park Ride, BELIEVE THEM. I was unable to get on the Fast and Furious ride, as that one required a more expensive ticket purchase and is not included in most tickets. Wizarding World of Harry Potter: Peak fiction, but the author had to be hateful. A shame, since my friends and I were Potterheads back in high school, and going there kind of healed my inner teen. I wish the area of the park was larger and more immersive. I am considering buying a cosplay off of Depop, but I am not too sure yet. Definitely go here at night when the stores open up; it's a vibe. Haunted Houses/Horror Nights: I only went on the ones with smaller wait times, and they did not disappoint. The scare actors were a very good jump-scare, but at the same time, I saw them coming. Love the effort they put into the designs, decorations, costumes, and makeup! Will I be coming back?: Yes and no. I do plan to return, but not in the near future. I will probably wait until new things open up, or until I have the disposable income. This was more of a bucket list visit, but I definitely plan to return!

While it's noticeable throughout the facility, the waiting areas for the other tracks felt better ventilated. I still felt like I'd chain smoked just by being there. The karts are clearly well used but in good condition. The staff are friendly, young, and clearly into go-karting (I wouldn't be surprised if they take laps themselves on breaks). They're attentive about safety without being so strict that it kills the fun. Overall, a solid four star experience.

Restrooms were super clean which is a plus. My son enjoyed the many options of fun games. We will definitely return as we were both impressed. Customer Service was top notch as well.

My frustration was with the way management handled changes to party packages. I booked and prepaid for my son's birthday party in June (for a July party) during a promotion. Before the party, I even called the party hotline twice to go over the details of my reservation, and at no point was I told that the attraction tiers had changed or that there would be optional upgrades available. When we checked in with seven excited kids ready to play, I was told I would need to pay additional fees as their packages had changed. Mind you, I had already paid the $200 for the party in June. I had to pay $35 for an extra kid because the new package included 5, not 6 kids. In addition, I had to pay an additional $9 per child if I wanted everyone to have access to the attractions they wanted to use. That wasn't the time to be making an unexpected spending decision, and realistically I wasn't going to tell a group of kids that some of them couldn't participate. (I was prepared to pay for one extra kid and an extra pizza). We ended up paying $360 instead of the $260 I had budgeted. To add to the confusion, I also didn't receive the balloons that were included with my party package. After reaching out to management, they explained that the attraction tiers had changed after I booked and clarified how the pricing worked. While I still think the communication leading up to the event could have been much better, I do appreciate that they took the time to respond, acknowledged that the communication wasn't clear, and offered two complimentary Unlimited Play passes and a large pizza as a goodwill gesture. My suggestion to Urban Air would be simple: if party packages change after customers have already booked, proactively notify them before their event. It would avoid confusion, unexpected charges at check-in, and allow parents to make informed decisions before arriving with a group of excited kids. What would be even better is that when you book a package, you are locked into that price and details instead of it changing. I would be really hesitant to book another party here because I wouldn't know what price I would ultimately be paying day of. Overall, the kids had a blast, and we'd likely return to play. I just hope the communication around birthday parties improves, because that's what took away from an otherwise fun celebration.
