After a very lengthy and chaotic check in process and AFTER paying for my family, they then tell me it's going to be a 2+ hour wait. We decide to roll with it, go home and come back to do our races. After 2 1/2 hours we show back up and we are told it will still be another hour for our race time. They need to either allow for time reservations or limit walk in traffic. The place is run by teens and needs a serious customer service overhaul. I've read all of the responses they give to poor Yelp reviews and it looks like the typical lame response. So basically no one gives a crap about the customers. If my kids weren't excited about racing today i would head home and dispute the credit card bill. read more

Came here for a team building event with my co-workers and we had some changes where not everyone was able to attend as expected and we also found out one of the girls was pregnant. We went to let the staff know and they let us know that they would still be charging us for the full amount even though all the expected people were not going to race. I thought this was policy was a way for this company to make money at their expense regardless of changes. We decided to cancel and still they charged for cancelling which is understandable, but it was way more economic than to have to pay for everyone even though not everyone was racing. We wasted an hour of our time. The racetrack itself looked small and it did not look as fun it does on the website. I'm not interested in returning especially after the experience that we went through which by the way the price difference was $500. read more

Staff were really nice but karts are horrible. Non adjustable, how are guests supposed to race comfortably?! Brakes are delayed, karts are bumpy on every turn and no seating pads. We gave it a chance but Octane is where it's at. Very smooth karts, they are much faster and way more responsive, track is much larger as well. Like i said staff was nice but dont waste your time. Thai was fun for the kids! We purchased a groupon and split it between the two boys so each raced twice. The team was good at explaining to the kids the flags & meanings, as well as how to drive safely, while having fun! They were also attentive when one of the kids slid into the wall. We've been to lots of indoor kart racing and this is the worst. Went to octane last night and this place doesn't even come close, karts handle terrible and some are noticeably slower, my group left feeling like we wasted our money, done waste yours and go to octane! read more

Quick check in for the arrive and drive this is everything Octane wasn't, professional. My boys had a blast on the carts and wished they could have kept going but we had a plane to catch. $44 for 2 races per person. The more races you buy the prices goes down slightly add to that a yrly membership fee of like $8 (recognized at other locations) and you're good to go. There is a little bar area doe adults, a gaming area and theory with couches and tvs while you wait your turn. Your fee includes a racing sock for your head as a liner under the helmet they let you use. Great family fun. read more

They gave us the run down on what to do how to do it . They had a good bar Incase you get hungry very competitive racing. This place was great we will definitely be going back again. Ended up buying three races. We were told that there was a two hour waiting time so we waited. We ended up only racing two times after being there for three hours. Went to get a refund and ended up waiting another ten minutes to figure out the whole deal. Eventually we just said screw it and left. Didn't get a third race or a refund. Unfortunately to write a review a star is needed. So here it goes... We came by earlier this afternoon for some family fun but was told there is a 3 hr wait. The gal told us we can take care of the waivers, schedule our race & get all checked in. Agreed to get all that done. To make the process much smoother. ***ok everything was good. on her customer service.*** Before leaving the counter we she tells to come in at least 30mins prior to our scheduled race at 840pm. Our group checked in more than 30mins prior. Waited. Which was expected. But what was NOT expected, was to wait pass beyond our scheduled reserves race time. Which was definitely pass our time. Myself & the hubby both go ask what's, only to be told there is a group in place & another party before ours. Ok. No, not ok. Adding that there isn't nothing they can do & the reealty of it is that we still needed to wait 10-15 minutes. Unacceptable! Why even bother with the scheduled time. I mean if they knew there were other parties before our group, it'd only make sense that they mentioned it upon our arrival. Not such a great 1st time experience. read more

What an adrenalin rush! I get a rush every time I race here! For the arrive and drive, there is no need to bring anything except closed toe shoes. They provide head socks and helmets. The electric karts don't run as quick as the Yamaha 100cc- two stoke gas kart I've raced on an open track before but a thrill none the less! Super friendly staff and no exhaust fumes at this racing facility! The staff will give newbies a quick safety lesson and kids can go in their own junior races with lowered speed limits and feel like a real racer! I've had good experiences at the K1 tracks in California as well. I liked F1 race factory in Phoenix, when it was around but the fumes from the exhaust got to me after a while and the staff was just okay. read more

I'm extremely disappointed with this place. Our group came in when there was a lull in the building. We registered and proceeded to pay $500 for our group of 5 for - 2 races - membership fee for equipment Our first race went fine, just 10/15 mins waiting for groups ahead of us. We had our turn then waited for a following group. After an 1.5 hrs of waiting they then informed us that this group of 20+ ( w/ kids so separate races ) had a reservation. They said initially there were two races ahead of us but it turned out to be a lot more. After 2 hours of waiting we decided to leave bc we had dinner reservations that we were already late to. They were totally fine with taking our money.... But not giving us the courtesy of letting us know a party of 20+ would be coming in soon - which would be given the priority "We cannot do anything. We can give credit for the next race" - we're from NJ, that doesnt help We'd like a partial refund but it isn't likely to happen. read more

My 7 year old son and I decided to stop in and see what this place was about. We asked if my son was able to race so she measured him and said, yes he can drive. We were happy and excited until she said he has to drive a junior car and everybody racing is an adult so he would go around the track himself. I asked, why wouldn't I be able to pay also and I could drive my own kart so he is not alone. She replied, it's company policy. I understand if you have 2-4 juniors and a few adults that could be dangerous. But, he has to go alone oh at full price of $50! It just seems people are afraid to think on their own or just use logic. That said, they as a business lost the $50 I would have paid for myself and my son had to race no one at K1 Kart Racing, yes racing and still pay full price. My wife and I came here around 2:30pm on a Saturday. They told us it would be an hour wait, so we waited. At around 4:00pm, they called our names, with a bunch of others, and we all went through the pre-race instructions. We had our helmets on and everything, but when it came time to get in our karts, the guy running the thing said he couldn't find our names anymore and told us to go up to the front check-in to figure out what to do next. This happened to at least 6 people in our group who all had to go up to the 2 or 3 front check-in people who were already managing a large Saturday night crowd. They had no idea what happened either and said we were now slotted for 4:55pm. Not sure what happened to our first race, but we asked if we could just get a refund and head out. The "manager" refunded most of our fee, but not the full amount. We didn't even get to race, and it was due to some sort of error on their part that they really didn't have time to look into for us or the others that were impacted. So not only was it a bad experience, I now have to follow-up to resolve the refund. Also, while we were waiting from 2:30pm to 4:00pm for our non-race, there were several races with only a few people racing. 1 of them only had 2 racers and didn't seem to make sense. I think they need to figure out how to get people in and out better. Just seems like a cluster fuck over there. read more

Absolutely misleading. Don't waste your money buying online. They "arrive and drive" they advertise is completely false. Bought tickets online, arrived and registered with their QR sign and still had to wait outside for 2 hours before we were able to go inside and re register. Very misleading and confusing. No communication what so ever on how their system works and when I asked, I was talked to in a manner that Warren's being fired. After numerous unanswered calls and an e mail to reserve a party for my 11 year old I decided to drive 45 minutes to reserve in person. The staff assisted, took my information and assured me we were all set for the party. I was told the party planner would be reaching out to further the details. A few days went by and again I found myself calling without response. Well today is my daughters party and K1 Phoenix called me to let me know since I did not leave a deposit my party was unable to happen until after 8 PM. Customer service gals Niaeli and Renee both gave me the same song and dance. Niaeli told me to just go to a competing business for my party. I go to octane race way quite a bit and wanted to try something new hoping for a mew track experience and was very disappointed. The track was extremely short the karts were non adjustable and very unresponsive, the brake would be delayed in slowing down and releasing the brake making me have to predict my braking and the karts were very very hard to turn, I was having to death grip the steering wheel the entire time i was racing and my hands hurt a lot after each race. I have a gas gokart I use for racing and I like going to these indoor places for fun and it was just so hard to have that here. The atmosphere of the place is very dark and empty the guy at the counter was very nice but other than that everyone else seemed like they didn't want to be there. I had really high hopes for this place because of how long it was shut down and i had heard good things about other k1 locations but was severely let down. Honestly I would recommend going to octane at talkingstick, they have more stuff around that place as well to have fun and kill time while waiting to be seated for your race. read more

Spent 2 hours driving my son there to get 2 races in, we paid for 2 and cameras, got our first race in all good, waited over an hour for next race and finally went to the guy and asked when our second race was and he said we had to go tell the lady up front to add our second race. I wish I could like this place. Everything looks real cool and nice inside. The only good thing here is the staff, nice people. Half the arcade don't work.... I been to 5 different go kart spots and you can't use a GoPro here on my own helmet... Thats an embarrassment for being a sport action spot. Go-karts look dope but 1/3 of the karts suck. I'm in Phoenix for the weekend and as I'm hooked on driving the karts at K1, I have to go check out their Phoenix track too, right? It's also my buddy's birthday so another reason to go! Plus I found and bought this great deal on Groupon, 2 licenses and 4 races = $44!! LOCATION: It's not on a main street so you'll have to zig zag through a few streets to get here. Once you find the address you'll have to follow a chain-link fenced in "alley" around to the far end of this big warehouse building they're located in. THE STAFF: One Yelper wrote the staff was really rude. I didn't get any of that. The staff I encountered were pleasant, informative and helpful. We arrived early Saturday to avoid long wait times later in the day. We walk in and there are only 2 other adults and 3 kids and no one had raced yet. SWEET! The woman at the counter said she'd add us to this first race so we wouldn't have to wait. NICE. However for some reason she didn't. The (kart master) held that race about 5 minutes waiting for our names to be added. He even walked over to the counter a couple times to ask. He finally sent that group out without us. Hmm, OK. But it's still early, so we're good. The adult's race, then the kiddos and now it's our turn. The kart master gives us our kart number, we walk over and settle in, or try to. I need more leg room, can't slide the seat back because there's no adjustment lever. I go to the kart master about this and he says "None of the karts have seat adjusters, they keep breaking them and they're $300 each." WTF??? "Umm OK, can you find a kart I can fit in?" Aside from the seat adjuster issue, the kart in the first race was fine. The kart in the 2nd race however needed some attention, mostly tires I assume. One tire had a horrendous flat spot because it was thumpin and shaking the kart the entire race. Plus when I'd turn right the kart would go NOW, but when turned left, very slow to respond. Yeah OK this made for a more challenging drive, but still. ALSO... during another race while we waited for our 2nd, they shut down the race because a kart hit the wall. I spoke to that driver later and he said 2 of the 3 bolts holding the steering wheel came off! WOW, no wonder he hit the wall! OVERALL: K1 Phoenix has a nice facility and track layout, but it seem with the flat-spotted tires and a steering wheel coming off, they need to get better at inspection and maintenance of the karts. Because of this AND no seat adjustments, sorry K1, just 2 stars. read more

We had my son's birthday party here this evening. While the actual racing portion of the party was wonderful and well organized, I do not recommend this place for a party. We had to place our catering order a week in advance (we opted for pizza) but when it came time for us to eat and we asked when the food would be brought out. They informed us that they were out of cheese so they couldn't fulfill our order. We were very upset. At least if we would have been informed of this when we arrived, we could have ordered pizzas from the outside. Instead we were left completely empty handed for our guests. They were also out of a lot of other types of food including ice, creamer for coffee. Our kids had a blast and are begging to do another party there but we will not be doing that, unfortunately. read more

My family and I HAD come to enjoy our outings to this location until we were met with disrespect and a complete lack of appreciation during our most recent visit. After visiting the Phoenix K-1 location on MULTIPLE occasions and being understanding of the challenges of running a customer service based organization, the new leadership has taken the stance that our business is not worthy of the common decency associated with brand loyalty and frequent recommendations. Lyam, in particular, was at best dismissive of our understanding nature. As someone in a leadership position for a large organization, it is challenging to comprehend how Lyam was placed in a position of authority. I have also spoken with several front line employees at Phoenix K-1, and in the short time Lyam has been back in his current position he has already sowed seeds of distrust and favoritism. As a customer that is disheartening and as someone who genuinely cares about employee well-being it's disgusting. I can only imagine how his subordinates must feel with him in a position of power. Needless to say, our loyal business, and the significant monetary commitment we've made will come to a close. It is unfortunate that my kids have to learn a tough lesson that just because you do the right thing and stay loyal to folks they will turn around and crap on your efforts...But hey, I'm sure that's not too heavy for a 7, 9, and 11 year old. Avoid this place for anything other than a one day experience of disorganization and inefficiency. read more

Located conveniently off the I-17, this is a great place for any party or date night out! The electric go karts can travel up to 40 miles an hour and each race is approximately 12 laps. They have a great Monday-Thursday special for 3 races at $39 a person- which is a steal! K1 provides head socks and helmets for all drivers as well as a "scorecard" print out after every race. They have a limited snack section and seating inside or outside with video games to play while other races are going on. There is definitely enough parking and staff is super friendly! read more

I took my girlfriend here for her birthday. It was her first go carting experience and I loved the idea of an indoor track without the gas fumes. The driving was fun, but there are REALLY LONG WAITS in between the races which kill the momentum. There is a lot of fun to be had when in the cars. It is exciting, fast, and a real blast. The place is clean and the carts are very high tech. They can slow the carts remotely and have your lap times printed out by the time you get out of your car. I really enjoyed the nearly instant stats, because it drives you to get better and better with each race. (Unless someone crashes. Then they stop everyone remotely, and your times are ruined.) My only real complaint is the wait times between races. When we were "scheduled" for our race, we were told there would be a 45 minute wait. After waiting an hour and a half, I began complaining. About a half hour after that we were finally called to the track last minute to join another group who was already in their cars. If they could work out how and when to let people race, this would be a lot of fun. But the wait really killed the whole day when you race for ten minutes and wait for two hours in between races. Paying almost $100 to sit around and wait for half the day was expectantly depressing. read more

The carts are fun but overall disappointed with this place. First the track is way too small for 12 racers at once which they allow. It's extremely dangerous and the track is only big enough for 8 tops especially if you get stuck in a crowded lane with a kid who thinks it's bumper cars. Got injured on my second go round. Additionally, the wait time can be long and when we went the arcade was down so there's not a lot to do while waiting what can be two hours before you get on the track. read more

This was my first time attending the track and I was really exciting. Got the 2 lap round and after spending $110 well let's say the hype was more than when we got there. If you are willing to waste 2.5 hours for your name to be called first and then another 2 hours for your second lap then this is the place to go. Definitely not coming back and the area located in the middle of an industrial park. Wasted half of my day. There was an "employee" who was I guess on their day off that was going over and over again on the track. That was so disrespectful because you have people waiting to go and upset customers and to see this person going every single time that was not cool. The place was kept cold so I guess that's a plus. Very disappointed. Took my son(11) and nephew (7). My son has been carting for 4 years. He's takes carting classes at MB2. He was very dissatisfied with the carts and K1's performance. This was my nephew's first experience with carting and he complained the carts were too slow when pressing the throttle peddle. Other carts were much quicker and smashing into the back of them as they drove due to the lack of power. I spoke to the workers asking what was wrong with the carts. Why are they so mismatched in speed? They didn't have an answer. If you are in Phoenix I would suggest trying a different company for carting. read more
