I've visited this location a few times, and decided that the most recent visit would be my last. Here's why: For starters, its very expensive (granted - this is not news - and full disclosure - I wasn't paying on this trip). But do the math: lap times range from 16-18 seconds, and a typical race is just 16 laps. So at $20 a race (if you don't buy a package which is cheaper) that's ~$4 a minute (put another way, upwards of $240 an hr). Renting an airplane is cheaper. Second - the facilities aren't great. Cars show some wear, the projector screen above their only straightaway is so dim you can barely make out your time. And of course there are no drinking fountains so that if you a parched after a race your only choice is buy their over priced drinks or drink from the bathroom sink. Finally - I ran three races, on the final race the car I got had zero brakes. I mean mash your foot to the floor with no result - sticking a leg out would have been more effective. The cars just slide around so I didn't feel like I was in any real danger - but I felt a bit jipped (getting back to the $240/hr price tag). But what really ticked me off was that when I told the staff about the problem with the car after the race - they said "Okay - we'll have our mechanic look into it" and put the car back in line for the next group (which included my wife and inlaws). Later the guy saidsomething to the effect that they only pull a car if someone stops in the middle of the race scared for their safety. Unless you are a party of 8 or more with a reservation prepare to wait... and wait... and wait. I took my son there for his first carting experience and was told it was a 20 minute wait. OK... no problem. After 45 minutes our names were still not called. I asked and they said it would be another 20 minutes!?! Then a party of 10 with a reservation came in and got placed to the front of the line. Since they only race about 6 cars at a time that party got split into multiple races. After an hour and a half of waiting I gave up and got my money back. It would be nice if they had a better system for people not in groups to get a turn or at least be realistic about the wait times. read more

Track wasn't big enough so you can't overtake drivers easily. The service was subpar.

My and my boyfriend went just to have some fun but we didn't. We got there and the guys at the front told us the wait was going to be 15 min, we sat in our car for 15 min and came back in and he said "there's actually 2 more races in front of you" (along with the 15 min we waited) we were annoyed because he didn't tell us that from the beginning) so we sat back in our car and waited more and as we were doing so we saw all the employees just hanging out smoking weed and vaping (as if they weren't on the job) we felt uncomfortable but still wanted to race. we walked back in after another 20min (and after the 2 races that he told us were infront of us) and we expected to get in the carts and no one was communicating with us we were just sitting there so we asked him again what's going on and he told us "oh actually there's another race in front of you" at that point after waiting an hour we asked for a refund and he gave it back to us luckily, we wasted our time :/ this place is not worth your time and money it was the weirdest experience. read more

Super fun. I've been to this location twice now. Once in a workgroup, and once with a friend of mine. Both times we had excellent service with clear and concise instructions. Everyone we met with on the staff were friendly and accommodating and smiled. On this second occasion my friend and I were walk ins and happened to be arriving while one large group was finishing and another large group was preparing to race. They gave us the option of using both of our races back-to-back, or having to wait 30 minutes or more while they cycle through the large party. They fit us in quickly, and gave us options. Would not recommend for someone who is trying this sport for the first time One of my kid was kicked out of the race in the very first lap and was asked he come next day to complete the races we bought on his account. This place will milk you for your money. Everything is a separate fee or charge. We are purchasing everything through them- a package "deal" for a party of 13, food, drinks, and everything is a separate charge. Want a room for your party? Not included-it's a separate charge per hour, even when you're on the track. Literally the only reason why we are coming here is because of the location- it's way closer than the other places. But if you have a choice- please go elsewhere unless you want to end up paying an arm and a leg just to have 2 hours of fun. read more

Went there last night with my kids but it turned out I made the trip for nothing since they shut down the junior races 3 hours earlier than posted on their website. This was annoying. Don't waste your time at K1 speed. To whom it may concern, Hello, my name is Don. I live in Lynnwood, WA. I've been planning to visit the K1 speed in my state and had been looking forward to the experience. My girlfriend's birthday was a great opportunity to go a few races so I called Monday, 09/28/15 to inquire about racing that day. Long story short, I ended up not racing due to the employee's lack of communication, the inhospitable environment, and the discomfort from my experience. Upon arrivel after my call to the redmond location I see a sign stating an event closure, we go inside and are promptly told they are closed. After having asked why I wasn't told of the closure over the phone, the employee told me I should have looked over the website. Delayed for 2 hours we return at 6:30, and enter again, and are told to wait outside. I ask if would be acceptable to wait inside for the time being and was told, no. The lack of empathy shown by the K1 speed crew caused me discomfort. When they eventually allowed the group of people waiting outside in, I went to ask to speak with the manager, in hopes of expressing my situation. I was approched by a man named Jason who addressed himself as GM. His presense was unwelcoming and defencive, and when I asked about contact info he told me to look on the website. After I told this to their feedback option online, I was given a half message from an unidentified person from their cell phone, who didn't address what I had to say, then claimed to give me a race "on me", but since the only name that shows up on the email is Ball02, I doubt it would be worth my time to travel out there again. It's like a quick romp with a high-class escort: Fast, glamorous and expensive. The venue is modern and clean and the front desk girl was cheerful and helpful. However you're then charged $27 for a 10 minute race and given mumbled instructions from a bored and surly teenager. The karts are plenty fast, but the track is so small and narrow that you can't get close to, much less pass, your buddies. It's certainly a thrill but over way too fast and certainly not worth what they're charging. read more

Fuck this place. Called ahead because I know how annoying birthday parties can take up the place. Was told that there was a race that starts at 12:50 that I can partcipate in. Arrived at 12:45 just to be told the 12:50 race has started. Unless time works differently at this place, they are staffed by morons that will most likely end up retiring in the trash bin next to the place. Let me explain to you why this place is expensive. The race ends after the fastest person crosses the finish line. An race is 12 lap, and faster folks can do 18 sec/lap easy. That means the race will finish in 3.6 mins! You paid 20 dollars for 3.6 mins of track time! Do you know how ridiculous that sounds? I paid 20 dollars for a 4 races groupon and that was because the person who purchased it couldn't resale it and have to unload it at a discount. Even then, you are talking about 5 dollars for 3.6 mins of track time. I had been to many kart tracks in Washington. This is the worst go kart track I had been to. They have lots of employees running the place, but most them just walk around and talking to each other and joking around and totally ignore the customers. read more

I think this would be a better experience if you have a large enough group to get to race together. The way it's set up you go in and wait and then they may put you with others or not. From what we can tell, if you are a repeat member then you get to pick your group but otherwise they group you. We were a group of 5 but one of our group had not raced before. They put us with two experienced younger people so there were 6 of 7 that had been on the track before (but we aren't regulars) and 1 that hadn't. Because the track is tight, the one person had to keep staying to the left to avoid messing up the experience of the other 6. They knew this person had never been there before so it wasn't a surprise. The grouping is really odd. They charge you $8 every year even if you don't want to be a "member". The total cost is about $240 for 5 people to do short races with the membership. That's $240 for what is approximately 12-14 minutes of go karting. Very expensive! ...and keep in mind that you can pay your $240 and end up being paired with a few more people that want to go around at a snail's pace so the money doesn't guarantee you the speeds you might like to go around at. Our group was a mix of speeds. Otherwise, the facility seemed clean and our wait time wasn't that bad. You can have to wait sometimes an hour to two hours. The employees were nice enough, you could tell it was routine for them but they did their jobs well. We'll see if we want to repeat the experience. It was fun, part of our group hadn't been there in probably 5 years. We may or may not got back in another 5 years. read more

I wish i could give 0 stars went with my friends for having a good time, but alas it turns out that they are very busy now and don't want to treat their customers with respect. After waiting for 45 minutes and race being pushed 3 times when you ask their customer service why the race is being delayed he tells me that you are welcome to leave if you have a problem. And then all the staff starts fighting with us and keep on telling us that you can leave. I don't wish to return ever to this place neither will return ever. read more

Their website specifically said NO AGE REQUIREMENT, only a 48 inch child or 58 inch adult requirement. When we got there they denied my son EVEN THOUGH HE WAS 61 inchs!! They said his knees were an issue. WTF? Nowhere on the website does it explain about KNEE requirements. I tried explaining that we spent an hour and a half driving there and the guy didnt care, turned around and ignored us. Terrible Staff. Terrible service, terrible explanation on requirements. Never going to return. Tell your staff to learn to be a bit caring when explaining your terrible rules and requirements, and good luck finding kids to want to come here. Great place. Big fun. Excellent staff. But if you're looking for Nordstrom or Starbucks type of customer service, you won't find it here. Our race was interrupted due to faulty equipment. Those things happen. But store policy states that we received all of our laps. Perhaps I'm old school. I'd at least offer a discount for a future race when asked. But nothing. Now we are hooked on karting . Was considering their $500 package. But now we will check out the competition and see what they have to offer. Surprisingly, this location not busy on a Friday night. Well I can here with some friend and the first 2 races were fine but in the 3rd race in the 3rd lap my friend in a curve just stopped and I bumped into him hard and they stop everyone and tell me to get up screaming at me a lot of times and I had to leave. It was fun for the kids but...The scheduled time and actual time of race was off by 30 minutes. This was frustrating as we had come earlier in the day already then showed up 25 mins early to the race. All in we invested over one hour for 10 minutes of playtime. I will reconsider for $100 (2 races) for two kids. We only did one of the two races which was also concerning since we were told there would be enough time for two races back to back. Don't expect to walk into this place with your kids so the can try go-karting.... everything was already booked with weekend parties.

Very professional and well-maintained. Convenient location for Eastside people. Unfortunately the facility isn't all that big and therefore tracks are relatively short. I would say this is a perfect place for parties & company morale events but not so much for serious racers. read more

We had amazing service today. We are novices, so we did not know what to expect. The young lady at the counter was so very busy, but when it came time to help us, she acted like we were the most important customers. She explained how it works and gave us a rough idea of the wait. Thanks to Groupon, indoor go kart racing has been finally made affordable. Be warned though, on busy weekends the wait is at times over an hour or more minumum for a race so be sure to call in advance so you know what you're dealing with. My group had to return on a weeknight to ensure that there was no ridiculous wait. I have this paranoia that my kart would flip over & burst into flames so maybe I was driving like Ms. Daisy and got flagged a few times to let other speedsters pass me. Overall, a fun great experience and you get a printout & visual graph of your speed per every lap & race. You can also post in on facebook from their computers. They should make a 4th place podium stand though...hehe read more

What a disappointment. Apathetic staff would be my first point to mention. Short course and runs. EXPENSIVE!!! And did I mention that the staff could care less about the people and groups who come in? The long and the short of K1 in Redmond is this: the cars are Awesome, but only when fully charged. The track is way to short though, and while the staff is probably just doing their jobs, the slightest contact on the course with another car means you get slowed down which just F's everyone else's runs since they constantly have to pass you (since the course is sooooo short). We (a group of 6) also had to wait two full hours since you need 8 (EIGHT!) people to make a reservation. This is not the staffs fault I will admit, but it was somewhat suspect when the group of 3 hot Asian girls got onto the course a full 40 minutes before we did. I'll let you do the mental legwork on that. K1 racing of Redmond is fun for the 5 minutes a race lasts, but the wait, the staff's apathy, the heat of the track (i.e. it gets HOT) and the price all lead me to review this location as a total AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Sykart in Tukwila is a much better bet (and I have raced at both locations). PS - If you are a slow driver, please don't go here as you will totally mess up other peoples races because again, ANY bumping and you are done, and it is really really hard to pass on this track given its short length and overall narrowness. read more

Super fun but expensive and a short, tight, indoor track. There was a LOT of bumping and slamming and the operators didn't call out those cars. Maybe we were there with an overly aggressive group of strangers but the track was packed and pretty intense. Did another couple of laps with less people and it was a lot more fun. read more

I went for a corporate team building event and I have to say that while the staff isn't super organized, they are friendly enough and they are pretty good about making sure groups are together and having fun. The track rarely if ever changes, so I'm going to give this a 3 star rating. The carts are electric so you don't have to worry about smelling like gas when you're done. The carts themselves are varied, the newer ones have better brakes, while the older ones tend to drift a bit too much. So from race to race your lap times may change. It's in town and easy to run to for a quick race so I would say that this place is still a good place to hit if you don't want to go far to feel some speed (legally). Tons of fun! Clean facility, very nice staff, free pool, free discount coupons, and overall great experience. The electric carts had excellent acceleration and speed, and the drifting was great. Great experience! We took a group of 13 people and originally made a reservation with a group rate. While at the track, we realized we could shave off a few bucks and get an extra race by restructuring ourselves into individual racers instead of having one large group. The manager, Brittany went above and beyond to re-enter us all into the system as individuals and save us the money! Also, the go karts are insanely fun. You won't be disappointed! read more

I think I've been to 6 different K1s across the country and the Seattle location is my favorite. The carts aren't the newest and the track is pretty small, but the customer service is great. The very first time I went there, I told the manager about my racing background and he gave me a sweet deal (don't want to get him in trouble so won't say, but in general the more races you buy at one time, the better the deal). He then proceeded to let me race SOLO on the track to try to beat the lap record...and when I say solo, I mean like there were other people waiting to race, and he let me do that lol... I was pretty shocked that he let me do that, so I wouldn't go expecting that but I'm just trying to illustrate that they have great customer service. That manager no longer works at the Seattle location. There is another manager, Jason, who is a real stand up guy. He convinced me to do the league race and I was always impressed at how much he cared that it was a great experience for everyone. He and the staff worked tirelessly to make sure the carts were in tip top shape. He also writes the best post race stories on the k1 blog which are quite fun to read. Honestly, racers tend to be pretty whiny about a lot of things and this particular K1 did their best to cater to whiny racers like me. It's probably because they know, I'm a good, repeat customer that brings in a lot of my friends to race there. It's hard when I go to other K1s, because they don't know me, so I don't get that great of service, though I think K1 Seattle has good customer service regardless of your skill level and how many times you've been there. I like K1 Seattle because it was easy-in and easy-out, fair prices, and great customer service, particularly for experienced racers who are a bit demanding. read more

The cars have variable speeds and sometimes u find your group has an extra person amongst you which is one of their special members and they give them vip treatments kicking you out to make way for him/her. The employees at K1 do not get enough credit. Even though they deal with, quite literally, some of the most incompetent customers I have ever seen. They continue to work hard and suppress the emotions they get from the fact that the same 10 year old kid just crashed into a wall for the 40th time that day. I go there often enough to know what God-awful drivers the people around Redmond are. If you find yourself pulling up with a brood of kids in a beige crossover, maybe racing isn't for you. The other customers and employees certainly don't want to deal with a bunch of idiots without a flying f of an idea what they're doing. That being said, the employees handle tough situations well, and will separate skilled drivers and bad drivers whenever they can. The time bottlenecks are usually because of slow charging times. The only reason I give it 3 stars is because of their pricing. read more

I'm not sure if I'm qualified to give a real review as I didn't race, but I've been here twice and watched. I didn't participate as it is pretty pricey (not sure in comparison to other places) and I would rather spend that money on food or clothes...just me. But it looks really fun if you do want to ride go-karts. Fun for big groups. There is sometimes a long wait during the weekends. Not sure during the week. I noticed there were problems with the go-karts (bumpers falling off, other parts falling off) which sometimes stopped the races. Otherwise, probably try it out if this is your thing... read more

I come to this place once in awhile and i honestly enjoy my time the go karting itself is very fun and i enjoy the unique competitive system that k1 has since most other gokarting places don't even record lap times. However it is a bit pricey even though they always have good deals in emails i receive from them, they have a pool table which honestly i never see anyone use. The track is a little on the smaller side which makes the laps feel like they end before they start. And im not exactly a fan of the head socks. its very fun for the family but take note if you are a first timer and underage you must sign a waiver and have some one at least 18 present! as i vaguely remember this years ago as a excited 16 yr old. To end on a high note the staff is very friendly and informative and if you come in on a quiet day and are willing to shed some cash you will enjoy your time! read more
