Okay I just had the most bizarre and worst experience at K9 groom and wash on Clearacre Ln. I went on Saturday to see if they had any openings since I've been trying to call all week with no luck of anyone answering the phone. The owner Sara said yes she's been having issues with the phones but give her a few minutes so she can see her schedule. I said okay yes no worries I'll be sitting in my vehicle right in front of her door. She said okay and after about 10 minutes came out and said tomorrow around 10 or 11 am she can take her in. Sounds good. She was very polite and I was too. She called me this around 9 this morning to verify our appointment I said yes we will be there shortly. I dropped off my dog at 10:20 she said she'd give me a call when she was done. 4:30pm I still haven't heard from her so i tried calling no answer so I decided to go check in and see how she was doing since they do close at 5:00 pm. When I got there I didn't hear anyone greet me so I popped my head over the dividing half wall and said hi I'm Lola's she immediately started yelling at me that she didn't appreciate me booking her to spy on her work. She kept repeating she knew I was a groomer and I just wanted to see her work. I repeatedly told her I had no idea what she was talking about and that I was definitely not a groomer. I told her we have been bringing our dogs there for a few years now and She just kept yelling at me with my dog in hand and said I know exactly who you are and I'm not done with your dog so give her 45 more minutes and that she wouldn't even going to charge me. By that point I was done being yelled at and said no just give me back my dog I don't want you touching her anymore. I left there so frustrated and confused. 6 hours later and my dog barley got a bath nothing else was done. Who did she confused me with I have no idea. Today my dogs nails were absolutely butchered, bleeding uncontrollably, uneven, frayed, just absolutely sloppy. The guy working wasn't transparent with me that he made them bleed. I had to go buy styptic powder. I called and all he could say was to bring them back and he'll fix them. How? He'd only make them worse and now they're traumatized. Amazing experience! This was my first time getting my dog professionally groomed, and with an upcoming photoshoot, I thought it was the perfect opportunity. I have an Australian Shepherd with comically long fur around her backside, and since she's an outdoor dog, she was definitely dirty and tangled! A friend warned me that getting her groomed so close to the photoshoot was risky in case I didn't like the result. But luckily, Nala turned out amazing! Her fur was so clean and bouncy, and she looked fantastic for the photoshoot. Her grooming took just under 3 hours and she looks ten years younger It is wild. Sara is friendly and amazingly fast. My dog, Sugar, hates getting her nails trimmed so much so that we couldn't get near her with nail clippers. Sugar's quicks have overgrown as a result. We didn't know what to do. Sara took her on and had all her nails clipped in less than 2 minutes without any hesitation or pushback from our dog. It was quite remarkable. Our puppy loved Sara. Licked her all over and I don't think he stopped. I think he likes pretty gals. This was out first time there and everything went well. I am not sure what type of shampoo they use but he was smelling like a champ when he was done. Not sure how this pup should look but after searching online most of the photos were puppies of this type with longer hair. After his clipping, he looked more like a poodle but since his hair grows so fast that will be helpful in the warm weather. Next time we may keep a little of the curls. Sara was delightful and even spent a lot of time talking to us even though she was quite busy. One of the biggest factors in finding a great groomer is how much you dog loves and bonds with them. My puppy barely wanted to leave her. He was a bit shaken for his first hair cut with a groomer where there are other dogs around including big ones. But we want him to have as many new experiences as he can while he is young. It was easy to get in by making an appointment online even though they are a busy salon. We would recommend Sara to anyone and we have already done so in person and on social media. So many new people with dogs are coming into the area looking for help with their dogs. I forgot to snap a few pics but, today was our first visit. I gave my dog a bath at the self serve dog wash and he had a nail trim. My dog has severe food allergies and is just coming out of a flare up so he looks pretty shocking. They were not phased at all which made me feel at ease. They had an interest in his situation and had some good advice too on what could help him during flare ups. I think all 3 staff members in the shop durjng oyr visit chatted with us. We were set up at a wash tub which lowers and raises which is an awesome feature since I am only 5'5" and my dog is 82 lbs with long german shepherd legs. They even provided the gentle hypoallergenic shampoo and the extra soft wash gloves with soft scrubbing nubs, which really helped get some of his healing but dry and flakey skin off. They were also really kind about his embarrassingly overgrown toenails. Gabby did a fantastic job taking her time with him to be sure he wasn't injured in any way. Prices are great. $18.00 for self-serve wash, they provide everything you provide the dog and your washing skills. The nail trim was only $10.00! Far less than his vet charges. The atmosphere is warm, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. I will be back and recommend this business fully. Located on Clear Acre with ample parking. read more

I have been going here for over a year now and I honestly loved their service at first but these last couple of months have changed my mind about this place. The last month I took my dog and they had over clipped his ear to the point where it was bleeding!!! And when I had picked him up they did not report that so this time around when I took him over the week I had asked them nicely to report any incidents that happen , I pick up my dog after 4 HRS of waiting and his eye seems irritated. (he could barely open one of his eye) so I had shown up and SARA had asked "is his eye still bugging him"?!!! So she knew something happened and didn't bother reporting it after asking her to report any incidents!!! So I had taken him to the vet and they had told me his cornea was severely damaged due to soap getting in his eye! (Now I understand incidents happen too and dogs fuss a lot when getting groomed but none of this was reported when I had picked him up until after I showed up!) now I don't wanna hate this place because Sara did pay the vet bill but it's so unfortunate that this had to happen to my dog. read more

I live in SF and visited Reno. Had my senior fur baby with me so I decided to get her nails trim. I'm used to - make an appt. Drop her off. Come back several hours later when they call and pay $16-$22 depending on where you go in SF. I was pleasantly shocked when I called and they said I could walk-in. Upon arrival, I asked when I should pick her up and they said to wait there. My baby squirms so she had to hold her to clip her nails. But then she saw me so we held her while the groomer trimmed her nails (which I don't mind at all!). It was done in 10 mins and drum roll pls....She said $5.Yes, $5! I had a twenty on me but she didn't have change. She said I could use my credit card but you know what, it was worth $20 for the speediness and how the treatment. I watched another staff tried to lift a beautiful but stubborn husky to bathe. It was very cute. They seem to treat the fur babies well there so I recommend this place. The person who clipped my baby's nail is named Erin. She's great! read more

I brought my pup to Sara regularly every 10-12 weeks for three years with absolutely no complaints. I followed her to three different locations in three different parts of town because she frequently moves. Because of the threat of the dog virus that was going around in Oregon and California at the end of 2023 (and no idea when or if it would hit Nevada), I held off on one of his grooming appointments because I didn't want him potentially getting sick just from a grooming appointment. When I eventually brought him in, he did have long hair but I was given no notice upon drop off that her solution to that would be that he would be shaved down to pretty much no hair on 100% of his body (and it was the middle of winter). When I went to pick him up, I did not recognize my own dog. He was this naked, pathetic shell of his former self. I said something to the effect of "wow! Please don't ever shave him down this much again." Sara then went off about he was so matted and so long and she had no option, and that it took HOURS just to bathe him, that big dogs are so hard to groom, etc. and while all of that may have been true, it would have been nice to have been given notice beforehand that I would have a completely unrecognizable dog upon pick-up, or to have been told at drop-off that she was going to have to shave him completely. She then dismissed me as a client when I went to re-book, claiming she had "too many" big dogs in her rotation already even though my big dog had been part of that rotation for three years. So, because I was critical of her work one time in three years, she dropped me as a client. Would not recommend. read more

The dogs were washed beautifully but when it came to the nails one of our dogs toe nails broke during cutting. They then didn't finish and didn't cut our other dogs nails out of fear and proceeded to charge us full price. We took our dog to this groomer three times. The first time was okay, second very good and third really dissatisfying. We have a Havanese who really needs a certified groomer. This groomer does not clip our dogs nails unless we expressly ask for it, and even then it's a chop job. The last grooming appointment was less than an hour and, as the dog's hair started growing out, it became evident it was just an electric clipper job done with very little care.
