Kukahiko Estate - Beautiful Oceanfront private beach

The interior is spacious and comfortable, allowing for an indoor seat to view the beautiful ocean landscape. It is a small and intimate venue, but it serves a cozy and breathtaking purpose. There is a small parking area 'across' the Estate, almost pushing up into the wooded/ green areas. The restrooms for guests are separate from the main building. They took care of all at the wedding, from bride to groom to parents to guests. The food is not the best, but it was sufficient. No one will choose this venue for the food over the view- it's the view! Lovely venue for that purpose, you'll be ecstatic.

It's an event-licensed venue but family-owned and private, so you'll need to use one of several different Maui wedding planners for more detailed information and booking. The house can easily serve as a beautiful stand-in stage if it rains, with ample space and guest bathrooms conveniently located directly outside the front entrance. It's in a residential area so there is very limited parking in front of the house, and while there are a few more parking spots across the street, it's actually easier to just taxi or shuttle your guests in at very reasonable rates (which is also safer if your celebrations include any alchoholic beverages). Regardless, the lush back lawn landscaping, running right up to the oceans' edge, anchored by the most incredible lava rocks! will just take your breath away. It was actually hard not to turn around and gaze during our ceremony, even harder not to bail on our guests and just sit out on the rocks while the sun slowly set. Stunning arena, awe-inspiring photographs, priceless memories ... I'd just as readily elope here in hindsight. Kukahiko Estate is truly the most magical venue ever!

The food and venue were both incredible. Their team kept us on track throughout the night and acted as pseudo- day of planners. The team was incredibly responsive and patient with us as we made decisions about food, timing, and other vendors. They provided advice and answered all questions we had to help us create the perfect experience for us for our intimate wedding. We appreciated that everything could be handled in house by the Heartbeet/Pu'uwai team. They handled the bartending, cake cutting, servers, cleanup, and joined in some of the dancing! Plus, the food was INCREDIBLE. We had two kids, under 10, who can be picky, but they ate everything on offer! A true testament to delicious options that were curated for our event. We opted for family style, for our small group, and an extra protein because we couldn't decide on just one! The family style serving option helped us all feel at home, we loved it. Pu'uwai Gardens held a beautiful backdrop for the evening, including the covered area for eating and dancing, that included cute lighting, and the build in covered bar- stunning. The land and tress were also beautiful, as was the view of the water. The Heartbeet/Pu'uwai team overdelivered for our day and we are so grateful to have chosen them to host our reception.

While we ultimately had too many people to make that work, we knew from our first visit that we wanted this special property, and the wonderful people who steward it, to be part of our nuptial celebration. We ended up hosting our rehearsal dinner here in September 2022 and, my friends, it was absolutely magical. The property itself is stunning, with a gorgeous tree canopy and colorful blooms everywhere. There are plenty of great places for a golden hour photoshoot, which we took full advantage of! They waited patiently for us to finish our photos then ushered us to our tables, which were beautiful decorated with 'olena flowers from their garden. There were so many beautiful, special touches that went above and beyond our expectations. For example, when we arrived Chef Erika adorned my husband and I with ti leaf leis they had made for us. As we sat down for dinner Chef Erika gave a Hawaiian blessing and thanked the land for providing such a bounty for us to enjoy. The food, oh my goodness the food... it was SO GOOD!! I love that they source as much as possible from their own property and from other local farmers and ranchers. Everything was so fresh and prepared beautifully. Plus, they were able to accommodate my nephew's very severe nut and dairy allergy without any issues, which we all really appreciated. They let us bring our own wine for a very reasonable corkage fee and the bottle service was gracious and timely, with never an empty glass. They also nailed the timing of the dinner, we never felt rushed nor was there too much time between courses. It was just perfect! Everyone in our party was totally blown away. They were expecting the typical rehearsal dinner at a restaurant or something and this overdelivered in the best possible way. It felt so intimate and private, just what we wanted. We all still talk about what an amazing night it was. Jesse, Madeline, and Chef Erika were such wonderful hosts, and they were great to communicate with before the event via email too. The team here truly embodies the aloha spirit. We are so very grateful for the experience they curated for us on our special night. I highly recommend Starseed Ranch for any special occasion gathering you might be hosting!! Their property, their team, their food, their aloha, is second to none.

We went about 4ish but seems they're opened till much later and that's when it gets lively. It's a nice place to walk around though, but it's not very ADA friendly as there's lots of gravel and rocks so something to keep in mind. There's limited parking in the front but also a large parking lot in the back. Restrooms were clean.

Not like a garden you walk through with different plants and flowers. They have lots of things, though. There was a yoga session happening in the middle lawn area. They have a butterfly area, even though the butterflies were somewhere else. There is an aging tortoise, I forget his name. There are also different businesses in the buildings, like a spa and a salon. There are different small vendors with their booths and several food trucks; although, some were not open in the morning and the Thai food truck had all their items sold out on their menu already. The prices were even more pricier than the food trucks at Maui Food Trucks. One vendor had hand crafted desserts for $20/piece! I admired from afar, haha. Everything is advertised as "farm to table" maybe justifying their prices. We shared an acai bowl and it was mid. The the peanut butter was just scraped on the side of the bowl. Our typical acai bowls at least put the peanut/almond butter in the middle like any other topping so you can get an even bite with everything. But the dallop of peanut butter just on the side, it was like we ordered peanut butter on the side of our acai bowl. It was weird. I bet it's more alive at night with more food trucks open and live music. We came and saw and didn't come back. I can see how it can be great for families with toddlers running around, giving them a safe space to burn their energy. Until then, this probably won't be the top of our list.
