So I'm driving around Glendale with my friend (who is Armenian and KNOWS kababs). She wants kababs at Raffie's. I want cheap lunch, because mah pockets ain't deep this week. We're driving into the parking lot and already I'm having doubts. Not about it being cheap, but dammit, I want cheap AND good. I order shish kababs (#7 on the menu) and a fountain drink. I pay $8.xx. The girl who takes my order is actually very pleasant. My friend tells her it's my first visit to Kabab Way and we have a nice chat for a bit. When my order arrives at our table, I am pleasantly surprised. The plate is PACKED with food, and we all know that's a good thing when you have very little pocket money. I inhaled the shish kababs, rice, salad, roasted tomato and pita bread in record time. I ordered my salad with a house dressing and I thought it was very good. My friend ordered a bit of hummus and that was also very delicious. I literally waddled out of the store. Before we left I thanked the employees and half jokingly told them that I would first stop at Zankou for some garlic butter before I went to Kabab Way next time. They told me that wouldn't be necessary as they also have garlic butter. I'm sure my husband felt a disturbance in the force at that same moment, 20 miles away. I love garlic butter but he hates what it does to my breath. So, to wrap things up - this is good food for cheap, lots of it, employees are very friendly AND they have garlic butter. It's my new fave lunch place in Glendale. Move over, the Habit - your burgers have nothing on their kababs. read more

I've been coming here for the last 14 years and I will say that until this last time that I try the food I would always brag about them on how good their food was , the quality and just the overall presentation of the food. This last time I went I got a number 13 and their beef looked small dry and like if they had bought the lowest quality of the meats and it was nothing like before juicy fresh overall . I'm very disappointed I'm sorry to say that I will not come back . Try Tarme is up the street . Newer place but still quality also their service is not good :( read more

Came here with my family and infant daughter tonight. Ordered about $50 worth of food about 30 minutes before closing time and ate it there at the restaurant. As the restaurant starts closing up and turning new customers away a couple of the staff members start talking smack about us in Armenian about why we are taking so long to finish and how we must be "dense and stupid" for not knowing they're closing up. After hearing these comments several times my wife speaks up and says that we can hear them. We leave our unfinished plates on the table and walk out the door. Not 10 seconds later, their manager (about 30 years old) runs out the door towards us yelling at the top of his lungs. He motions to me to come over and screams at me in Armenian "You are going to go back in there and throw your food away." He says this with his chest heaving, FISTS CLENCHED and right arm partially cocked, and without a doubt in either my mind or his, he is seconds away from striking me if I do not oblige. My wife who is holding my 7 month old infant 10 feet behind me is frantically calling 911 and my 72 year old father in law comes over to calm this guy down. Never in my life has any restaurant employee ever threatened to physically assault me. Say what you want about a restaurant's food being bad or their service being lousy but no patron should ever fear for their safety or their family's safety like this. read more

I thought the food here was very good. I love kabobs and the chicken and beef were so flavorful and tender. I also really enjoyed the rice. It was so fluffy and also flavorful. Overall, you'll get a lot of good food and a very reasonable price. Our cashier was very patient with us as we were also changing our orders a bit. I think the only downside might be that parking is a little awkward in the back and they don't have printed menus, so you're having to look at their electronic menu on the screen. It's not a big deal, but the pictures rotate really fast so if you're not familiar with what you want, you might have to go through the pictures a few times to figure out what is what. First time trying their food and I love it!! We got #15 which is combination of shish kebab and chicken kebab served on a mountain full of basmati rice (I'm Asian so I cant complain). We used to go to Elena's across the street for our middle eastern/armenian food, but over the years, the portions have become smaller, and the food, not as tasty as it used to be. So now we come to Kabab Way. It's a tastier alternative to Elena's. They don't have lamb :( which is too bad because I love lamb, but they do have fish which is good for my dad who has gout. This is more of a "fast food" type of place, not a service restaurant, and the food does not come out fast, which is GOOD news. That means they are cooking it fresh, can't say the same for McD's. It's affordable and tasty and keeps the family happy, what more do you want? read more

Outstanding Lula. Both the beef and the chicken are extremely juicy. They have surprisingly wonderful rice, just the white Basmati sort, but steamed perfectly and unctuous, oily-- rice like momma makes. A bomb pairing with the lula. Armenian "ranch" is outstanding, mayonnaisey and garlicky and oh-so free-of-charge. Vegetarian sandwich is a home run too--Dolmathes mooshed into the toasted bread and served with house vinaigrette and tomatoes. As I was searching on yelp for hot lunch spots in Glendale, I came across Kabab Way. I decided to check it out with the bf and I'm so glad I did! When you walk in, you immediately see the entire menu on the wall. Everything is reasonably priced. You order at the counter, get your number, and seat at a table. I opted for the Beef Lula and hummus plate for $5.75. Great deal! The beef lula tasted almost identical to the beef lula (koobideh) at Raffi's. For almost half the price, I think I'll be coming to Kabab Way alot more for lunch. The hummus was so DELICIOUS! it tasted so much better than Raffi's hummus - smoky & creamy. The pita bread was okay, the ridges were pretty tough to chew. My bf opted for the Beef saltani which consisted of the chicken lula and shish kabob for $12.50. His order came with plain rice and salad with house dressing. The chicken lula was also very good and tender with alot of juicyness flavor. My bf LOVEDDD the shish kabob. The rice was very meh.. nothing special. Honestly, I wasn't completely full after lunch.. which led me to stuff myself with more pita bread. I like this place. It is sort of a fast food joint ...except everything they serve is freshly cooked. We ordered their combination plate of Beef Kabob and chicken kabob, then a plate of beef Lula with the Hummus. All the meat was tender and juicy and really flavorful.Serving portion was good and it is priced really well. Kebab Way is consistently delicious. They do fast-food style meat on a stick and they do it well. I almost always order the Beef Shish with Hummus (and a side of cucumber & yogurt!) and it has never let me down. The meat is so tender and juicy, the pita is served piping hot, the hummus is the perfect compliment and the yogurt is so refreshing! I have had combos with salad and rice before, too, ad i agree, the salad is small, but you can always ask for double salad! I prefer cutting my pita in half and stuffing it full of everything on the plate. Makes for a handy sandwich of yum. Very cheap kabob plates! And very tasty too! I like this place, and they promise you "no heartburn" - and so far, they've kept up with their promise. I usually get the chicken lula kabob, and swap out the boring salad for their tomato-cucumber salad. Now that's a good one, particularly because I really like they way they cut the veggies in there. it's not diced up in tiny square pieces as most places do, but huge chunks that keep them crunchy despite the dressing. Kabab Way is a kind of tweener restaurant... its more than a fast food joint but not quite a sit down restaurant and I think that hurts it a little bit. The service takes quite a while... I was in there and it was pretty empty but still took 10-15 mins for the food to get out. It's presentation is very fast food like... the food is on a styrofoam plate and you eat with plastic utensils but the food is priced the same as a lot of the sit down places I like to go to (Like Skaf's and Mini Kabob). FOOD I ordered the Beef and Chicken Lulu Combination Plate. The plate comes with 2 chicken and 2 beef lulus over a bed of rice. There is a side salad with a choice of ranch or balsamic, a roasted tomato and a piece of pita bread. Both Lulu's were very well prepared. They were juicy and pretty flavorful... very good, but not quite great. I ordered a side of garlic sauce for the chicken which ratcheted that up to 11 pretty quick.... but on the downside it made the beef lulu very bland by comparison. I tried the garlic sauce with the beef but it didn't make as much of an impact. The roasted tomato was nice but the salad was very blah... it was very lunch special like. Beef Lulu - 3 out of 5 Chicken Lulu (with sauce) - 4 out of 5 OVERALL I'm kind of on the fence about the restaurant. Glendale is blessed with lots of amazing Mediterranean restaurants so that complicates things. The very positive reviews made me want to like it but ultimately it was just an ok experience. If I think really hard and wanted some Mediterranean fast food I'd be more inclined to go to Zankou Chicken while if I wanted a better sit down experience I'd go to Skaf's or Mini Kabob. Ok so I gotta say if I was writing this review only based on food quality alone I would have given 5 stars easily. Unfortunately they forgot about my order today and my food took a lot longer than expected. Aside from that this place is great, so when in Glendale the debate will always be, do you go to Elena's which is just across the street or kabob way? Here's how you can decide ladies and gentlemen, so Elena's is definitely more bang for your buck, but your required to leave a tip so it balances out and the value is about the same for both restaurants. However I love the garlic sauce at Kebab Way it's very potent and just delicious and for that the slight edge goes to Kebab Way in my opinion. So at the end of the day I would say if you have not tried either do yourself a favor and give them both a try and decide for yourself which is better your gonna leave happy either way my friends!! read more

The meat was tender, and the rice was moist (but bland). The pricing was fair with good portions. The reason I didn't give this place a higher rating is because Elena's is right across the street! I would choose Elena's over this place without a doubt due to a few reasons: equal pricing, better rice (flavor wise), hummus comes without ordering it separately, and a better dining experience (service wise). First time at Kabab Way and I'm rating them with 3 stars only. Please read on if you wanna know why... Let me start with the pros... Food: I ordered 2 ala carte beef steak kabob. Before I placed it in my cart the ordering page gave me an option to add on a variety of side orders with the cost of each one. I decided why not no? So I added pita bread on 1 order and hummus on the other. Now let's talk about the food... the meat looked and tasted fresh, it was cooked to perfection to my taste that is (medium), the meat was tender, juicy, it's a little pink but no red/blood oozing as you cut or bite into it. The portion was average just like most places 6 pieces/kabob. Taste: Now I mentioned how the meat was earlier, couple all of that description with flavor and perfect balance of seasoning. All I can say is that one order was for me and the other is supposed to be my partners'. Let's just say instead of 6 pieces of beef, he's going to get the "happy meal" version of it lol. With 4 pieces of meat. I'm not worried I'm sure the delicious and tastiness of the meat will distract him from noticing the size (at least that's what I'm hoping for lol). Ambiance: The restaurant looks and feels clean. It gives off a relax atmosphere. They have an outdoor seating as well, that I imagine can be nice to seat at during sunny but cool weather. Pricing: I think the cost of each plate was reasonable. With the portion and taste I think this place is a winner in that category. Parking: The restaurant is located in a plaza with 3-4 shops and they share the parking lot (free). They have enough spaces during non-peak hours, but I can imagine how it can be difficult to find parking during peak hours. Don't despair as street parking is available and it's free. Now you must be wondering all that pros, but why the heck 3 star rating...below are the cons Customer Experience: Now here's the deal breaker for me thus my low rating. 1st of all I walked in the lady in the counter greeted me right away, as she said hi to me the phone started ringing and before I could respond to her, she picked up the phone and started talking. I thought to myself an 'excuse me' or 'please give me a moment while I take this call' would be polite. The call took 4-5 minutes, so I was getting a little antsy because I was there just to pick up my order but was made to wait. I was actually ok with that. After 3 more minutes another staff member came to assist. 1st of all the lady that came to help didn't even say hi. She looked at me and said: "pick up?" I said: "Hi and yes please" (still cheerful, as I was really excited about my food). She then started walking away and turn her head half way and said: "name?" I said my name which I don't think she understood because she then barked at me and said: "what did you order?" I was still okay at that point, until she started reprimanding me and telling me about my order: she said that they usually do not allow for side orders to be added to ala carte but she did it just this time. Now this TICK ME OFF at this point, 1st and foremost the ordering page provided that option, I did not design that page and how am I supposed to know that your not supposed to be able to do that if the system allowed it. Secondly she lied to me, because when I got home there was no hummus, the pita bread I ordered for one of the ala carte was received,1 but no hummus. You know that feeling when you've been craving for a certain food and you finally got the food how satisfying and enjoyable that could be... well I got the first part, waiting in anticipation, excited, saliva collecting on the inside of your cheeks - then you get home open your to go box excitedly, just to see that the hummus you've been craving for weeks isn't even there. I was really bummed out and disappointed. So yeah I wouldn't count on the customer service here. My 1st time experience as a customer really could've been way better. Now would I recommend this place? Taste and pricing wise yes. But if you're particular with how you're treated then I'd say maybe skip it or come armed with enough patience and be prepared to receive unfavorable to mediocre customer service. read more

The stuffed grape leaves are so delicate and good. I've had those in many other places, and these were the best I have had. The hummus was fresh.
