I substituted salad for hummus, not sure if there was a charge since I didn't receive a receipt, but the cost was a little higher than I expected. I care about little charges so I would appreciate a notice if it was an option. The texture of the beef was great, the taste for the whole meal was good. Service was fine. Portion is good for a meal; however, in comparison to what you can get at other mediterranean places for the price, it is somewhat smaller. Had a wonderful lunch here yesterday. The chicken kabob meat was super tender and the garlic sauce was a great compliment. The salad was delicious and fresh and I loved the Kalamata olives in it. Had to cook some rice at home and add a salad to make it a meal. The hummus given was like a tiny ketchup sized cup. The babagounush was in a small cup barely butter than the condiment cup. I'm not sure if I was also supposed to receive pita bread but I did not and was reaching for it when eating the little hummus I had. Return - unlikely. During the COVID-19 pandemic, we'd normally order fries at other places and the fries would be soggy by the time we got home, or even when we eat them in the car. Not so for Kabob Cafe - great texture! Nice a crispy, great flavor. Definitely the surprise. I tried the lamb and ground chicken plate - really good. The meat is so tender and juicy. This eatery is part of the Foothill Ranch Food Festival food court (located next to Regal Cinemas) and offers Mediterranean fare. The interior is small but comfortable and there are a multitude of tables outside. Order at the counter and your food is brought to you...even if you're outdoors. I ordered the koobideh combo plate (beef and chicken). Koobideh is ground meat mixed with onion which is cooked on a skewer. My two proteins came with pita bread, rice, and salad. The vast amount of food justified the price (around $14 if I recall). Staff here were very friendly and warmly answered questions I had about plates I was unfamiliar with. The beef koobideh was quite good despite my being unaccustomed to the texture. The chicken koobideh was a bit on the bland side though. Pita, rice and salad were all excellent. The Greek salad was fresh and vibrant with feta, cucumber, tomato and olives atop the greens. I also sampled my spouse's beef kabob and found the meat to be very flavorful and tender. Definitely a healthier choice amongst the "fast food" eateries in this food court which will please the palate. read more
