I work close to here and I've been here a few times now. Each time I've gone, it's been good. They have an all you can eat buffet, with a decent selection for the price (it's not a huge buffet so don't expect a huge buffet like you typically see). They also have regular entrees you can order if you don't want the buffet option. The restaurant itself has a lot of room and lots of seating. I usually come here for lunch only and there is usually a good amount of customers dining in. With the buffet, it comes with a drink and they have the soda options that use real cane sugar. The food itself is good. I like that they have vegetarian options, meat options and salads and rice/naan bread. The salad is pretty fresh and you can build your own for an entree or eat it as one of the buffet options. I like the meat options since I see them make it fresh, especially when it runs out. I've had the butter chicken (my favorite) and regular grilled chicken. Also had the meatballs, which were good as well. Customer service is great. They are patient, but quick and efficient and I've never had to wait more than a few minutes in line. This will be a an eatery I frequent , but rarely only because I'm trying not to spend money in downtown. I'm trying to save money. Really solid Mediterranean lunch spot. We've walked past the place dozens of times on the way to other shops and we finally decided to try this place. Serving sizes are generous and the flavors are on point. I also love that they cover the entree in a tasty, crispy, refreshing salad with minimal dressing. It litter forces me to eat greens and that's a nice touch cause we know I need to mix in more greens. Most recently I had the falafel tacos and boy that was a dang good dish. The falafel is fried very well, seasoned really nicely and packs flavor. Just a lil feta cheese to balance all the flavors. Again, not a ton of feta just the right amount and that's a solid hand in the kitchen to keep it fresh and not overdoing it. I LOVE that. I asked the people around me where should I eat for lunch and I was told to come here - Crest Cafe. I thought it would be packed coz it was lunchtime, but it was surprisingly not crowded at all. Being my first time there, I then had time to look at the menu. I ordered the Mediterranean Nachos, but because I don't eat meat, I asked for the chicken on the side (to which I could later give it to my dog). I also ordered a can soda. When I got back to work, I got the pita chips in one box, and then the "topping" on the side, to which I thought that was thoughtful so that my chips would not get soggy - but after taking my first bite, that assumption was incorrect. In my eyes, I believe it was incorrect because what they read as "chicken on the side" it was read as everything on the side. As when I took the first bite, I got chicken in my mouth. Because I could not eat chicken, I spit it out once I realized what it was. I tried to wash and cleanse my palate with the (supposed cold) soda I had also ordered, but that was also a fail as the soda was warm. A total waste of 25 dollars. read more

I come here all the time during the week for lunch and it NEVER disappoints. They have a variety of entrees to choose from but my go to is the garlic chicken wrap. It comes with lettuce and tomato, but I add red cabbage, cucumbers and onions which is no charge. They also have various side sauces and I love their jalapeño and garlic's sauces. They are full of flavor and taste so good with the wrap. Though the wrap is around $16 with tax, it's worth it! It's a good size, taste delicious and always well prepared! Also, the service is great! First tried their downtown location years ago but since the hours there are very limited I have made Crest Cafe in Elk Grove my to go spot for whenever I want a quiet time alone with some amazing food. Crest cafe is very unique to the point that I came here straight off of a flight from Paris because I missed it so much. I can say for certain this place is in my top 5 restaurants in the world. I came into this place for the first time during lunch. I had some catering at an event prior to coming here which included the falafel taco. I fell in love! It is a vegetarian dish, but so yummy! I also added the lunch buffet, which was more than enough for me, but I was not disappointed in the flavor at all. I had the veggie samosa and **kisses fingertips** perfectly hot and goes well with the green sauce in the photo. The butter chicken ,or whatever that was , had so much flavor and I loved it all! I would most definitely come back. I over ordered, because I thought I was ordering one taco, but it is really 3 per order. I don't know how to read yikes! Retired now I ran across the one in Elk Grove and asked if they were affiliated with the downtown one; she told me yes. I've eaten there twice now and have been disappointed both times. The most recent was not good at all and I ended up throwing it out. Also, the tiziki sauce was rancid or something; terrible. I've been hooked on Mediterranean /middle eastern food since 1969 when my Lebanese professor used to cook for his class and invite us all to his office to share his love of cooking. Several of my friends also cook authentic food (Egypt, Morocco and Turkish) so I'm not a newbie with this food. This is my favorite place to go for lunch on a work day. They have very limited hours so I'm lucky I work nearby but they do have a location (with more hours I believe) in Elk Grove too. My favorite thing to eat here is the chicken shawarma tacos but all of the wraps and other tacos are delicious as well. This is the highlight of having jury duty. I alternate between the awesome Mediterranean Nachos and the gyro. Today I went with the lamb gyro in a traditional pita. The meat was seasoned perfectly and there was plenty of it. I really enjoyed how tender it was. One thing I thought was really cool was that the lettuce and tomato was under the meat. This had the effect of keeping the produce in place and not falling all over the place. Truly a little thing, it shows they care. They had nice little tables outside. Great day to be outside and soak in the sun. The indoor area was nice and clean. Not too noisy either. I got dismissed from jury duty so it will be another few years before I get to go back. I used to work close by and would have lunch here all the time. Picked up lunch here today and boy was it a great decision, I forgot how amazing this place was! I used to get the Mediterranean nachos (sub gyro meat, you're welcome) every time. Like legit got nothing else on the menu. They're hands down the best thing on K street! However, today I ventured out of my comfort zone and got the Mediterranean fries (basically the same but with fries instead of nachos ). They were outstanding. It reminded me why I used to go here! There's one thing I would have done differently: ask for extra crispy fries. I will be doing that next time. Also, always get extra garlic sauce! I also added a side of pita chips for a buck extra! Why have I never been here before?! I walk by the Crest Cafe almost every day and finally decided to come to check them out yesterday. How could I say no to that? It came with a cucumber salad, rice, pita bread and about 6 or 7 pieces of "juicy" chicken! It was soooooooooooo good! The rice was cooked perfectly, the salad had just the right amount of dressing and the chicken was definitely flavorful and "juicy!" I devoured my plate! My boss ordered the Cucumber Feta Chicken Entree with no rice and she kept raving about her food as well. My meal also came with some sort of white dipping sauce that was super tangy that I poured all over my rice. It wasn't tzatziki sauce, but it was so good too! There is plenty of seating inside and outside which is nice for people watching. You order at the counter and they bring the food out for you and they also have a water station that had strawberries and cucumbers inside of it plus the soda machine that I loved at "Burger Lounge" that has Root Beer, Ginger Beer and Shirley Temple, etc.! This place was a home run for me! The staff was very friendly, his recommendation was on point and the food came out quick and fresh! I was looking for a quick lunch and I definitely found the place. They had a buffet, however you have to ask about it, I could not see any signs. So I ended up ordering a Chicken shawarma pita. Definitely not impressed. The lettuce was topped on top of the pot bread and was still wet, which began to make my bread soggy. The chicken was as if it had been boiled, so dry. However it did have good seasoning and then a few tomato pieces were put on top. The yogurt sauce came in the side, probably one of the smallest containers I have ever seen. Ordered for pick up today as their fantastic buffet is not available. Went with an office catering favorite, the couscous salad with gyro meat. Added the spicy sauce too, because, you know, spice. The salad tastes just like I remember it. Generous portion of couscous and meat, plus a couple of pita triangles and some tzatiki sauce. I am completely full and I maybe ate half of it? My go-to at Crest is the Lunchbox with Garlic Chicken, with half hummus and half rice at the bottom and a side of white sauce on the side. The lunch box truly is scrumptious and representative of many good things here at Crest. A former co-worker recommended this rendition of the Lunchbox 2 years ago, and I've gone back to get this dish at least once a month since then. I've in turn recommended it to other co-workers and one has said "this is the only thing to get here in my opinion." Other days I've gotten the Garlic Chicken Wrap (get that instead of the Garlic Chicken Sandwich because the wrap is much bigger for only $1 or so more). The only thing that I've gotten that I don't like is the Greek-style fries, because they put so many different types of sauce on the fries that it is too overpowering and leaves the fries pretty soggy. The line can stretch out the door near 12 pm, so I usually go around 11 am or after 1 pm if I can help it. It is better to call ahead, but even then you have to get in a long line during peak hours to pay for it and pick it up. The food is reasonably priced and always fresh. Awesome place! read more

Definitely my fav place to go for lunch. . They have a lunch buffet which is simple and yummy. Most of the buffet is daily vegetables, some sort of rice could be yellow or white rice. As well 2 kinds of meat like chicken and meat balls. As well a simple salad bar with hummus too. . I love the salad bar because its quick and I love eating healthy and simple. A couple thing that really stands out is there samosas, and spring rolls. I love there samosas because the wrap is not thick and more thin and crisp. As well dip in there mint garlic sauce is the best which the sauce needs to be requested. . I also have taken out for the lunch buffet. Basically you take an empty place Togo and fix it up and take it back to the office if needed. . I also loved their Mediterranean fries, which make sure you request your fries extra crispy and add extra white sauce because it's so b.p. good. And they do sprinkle some feta cheese on top too. .
