    Veg ghormeh sabzi

I love this place! I have basically come to the conclusion that if I come to Walnut Creek, then I must get their Ghormeh Sabzi. So were in town last week and got a regular and vegetarian Gormeh Sabzi. Both were delicious and made quickly. The only thing that makes me sad is that they don't give you the hot out of oven flat bread anymore and they don't have any seating. So I either have to devour it in my car or drive home and let it get cold.

*****Customer Experience During the COVID-19 Pandemic***** Located in the San Miguel Center on the south end of Walnut Creek, Kabob House is a small restaurant that has been serving up mouthwatering Middle Eastern food for more than a decade. I came here on 09/26/2020 in response to a family meal deal promotion posted on the Facebook page of a group called Help Save Walnut Creek Restaurants. The family meal deal was a one-day event. For $55.99 plus tax, it included chicken kabob, beef koobideh, grilled tomatoes, onions, and green peppers, hummus, rice, naan, and baklava. It was advertised to serve four to five people. I called at around 3:30 pm just to make sure they were not talking about little people. The lady confirmed that the meal would serve four to five adults. I placed an order and asked for it to be ready at 5 pm. I walked in a few minutes before 5 pm and they were just putting the order together for me. I took a look around while waiting. The interior was very clean. The owner and her staff all had masks on. An automatic hand sanitizer dispenser was situated near the cash register for customer use. Everything was neatly packaged and nicely presented. The meats were seasoned/marinated well and charbroiled nicely. They were both juicy and flavorful. The chicken had a nice hint of coconut milk from the marinade and the beef was spiced just right. The hummus was pretty decent. It had a nice taste but was a little bit grainy. It went well with the naan, which came room temperature. I should have heated it up in the oven before eating. The two types of basmati rice, flavored with saffron and coconut milk, were the perfect accompaniments to the meats. The baklava was a nice sweet way to end the meal. The portions were very generous and definitely enough for four adults. We ended up with lots of leftovers. The owner and her chef were very nice people. They were polite and appreciative of my business. Overall, it was an excellent experience. The ordering was easy, environment was COVID-safe, and the food was delicious. Hopefully they will run this promotion again. Even if they don't, I will return. BONUS MATERIAL: - Curbside pickup available. - Major credit cards accepted.

Their chicken kabob is my absolute favorite! 10/10 would recommend to anyone looking for Persian food!

I have reviewed Kabob House before and felt compelled to write another review. Kabob House is my go to for great Persian food. It is the best around (and I have tried several others that don't even come close). We ordered the beef Koubideh kabob, chicken kabob, tadig (crunchy rice that you hav to try), and yogurt with mint. Try to zereshk pollo (white rice with burberries - gives a sweet and tangy taste). The staff are pleasant and the food is delicious. All middle eastern food is not the same and neither is all Persian food. If you want the really good stuff - Kabob House in Walnut Creek is your place.

It's so difficult to find good Persian cuisine in the east bay and being down the street from my house, we gave it a go. Service was amazing! Super caring and attentive during our carry out process. The Soltani was a little dry for my taste but was a large portion which I like. We also ordered four orders of koobideh which my teens devoured before I can snap photos. The fesenjoon with chicken was delicious and will be my go too. They will definitely be our new go to when we're craving kabob nearby.

For the appetizer, we had the halloumi and shrimp dishes, plus the hamachi and poke tostadas. All of them were great! My personal favorite was the shrimp and the poke tostada. For entrees, we got the lamp chops, shrimp shishito risotto, and braised chicken. All three were great, the shrimp risotto was my favorite - absolutely delicious. The scalloped potatoes that come with the lamp chops are also incredible. The braised chicken is a very generous portion and enough to share, also tasty. We also got the cucumber salad and creamy chickpeas as our sides, our group loved both. Our last appetizer was the pita and hummus, which was heavenly and so fresh. For dessert, we got the tiramisu, halva chocolate cake, and baklava. Our group loved the tiramisu a lot. I am not a tiramisu girl, but I loved it. The service was also wonderful! Diana was our server and she was really sweet and attentive. She gave us a lot of great recommendations and was so helpful as we made our choices off the menu. Highly recommend if you're looking for a new twist on Mediterranean food with great ambience and service. We can't wait to come back!

Loved the fresh ingredients and how the tostada kept its structure each bite. 3/5 Grilled Filet Skewers: good, but, would I get it again? Maybe not unless I were to share it with someone.. It was pretty heavy for me. 4/5 Tiramisu: very good, but also again I was full. But i loved the texture and the fact that it didn't taste like your average tiramisu. The nuts brought great texture, there was definitely hints of liquor in there as well. I would order again & share with a friend Service: Lastly our waitress was great! Not a simple order by any stretch. Getting the owner (?) on the phone to place the order took some persistence, but once we connected, she was fantastic. She helped us figure out quantities, steered us toward the right dishes for the vegetarians and the kids, and was upfront about what contained nuts. She even threw in extras (salad and dessert) to complete the meal. I felt like she treated us like family. Pricing was very reasonable, everything arrived on time -- delivered by her uncle, no less -- and there was so much food that every guest went home with a takeout container -- the true mark of a successful spread. My husband was considerably less thrilled that I didn't save any of the meat dishes for home (he still laments it every time we talk about this awesome catering experience to others). For dine-in, our favorites are the lamb kebob, the Qabili, and the chicken kebob. We'll keep coming back.

What made it so much better was I found the Yogurt sauce in the back. It's all you can eat. I used 2 on their small containers of sauce. And it really needed it as it was dry without it. My mom loves fries so that's why I ordered this dish. I think she was disappointed that they were stuffed inside and wasn't a side of fries. My mom did smother then wrap with ketchup which I thought was odd, but she enjoyed it and that's all that mattered. Next time I'll order her the Kabab Fries($14.90- Crave Fries plus protein. I wish they would put more sauce on the inside and add a little more flavor to it. I found it a bit on the bland side. Next time I'll try some of their spicier yogurt sauces.
