Service is soooo sooo slow. They have 3 staff (one of them also handle the front desk!) during dinner hours on a Sunday. With online orders and store orders coming in, they are clearly outnumbered. Hire more workers! This is ridiculous. A kebab place taking 30 mins to get the food? This is unacceptable. Also they have a giant sign saying KIDS EAT FREE outside and said come in and ask the staff. Much better than last time. I ordered the San Diego Grilled Wrap($15.90)- Chicken Shawarma, Crispy to perfection fries, feta, red cabbage slaw, pickled onions, romaine, tomato, cucumber and garlic yogurt. What made it so much better was I found the Yogurt sauce in the back. It's all you can eat. I used 2 on their small containers of sauce. And it really needed it as it was dry without it. My mom loves fries so that's why I ordered this dish. I think she was disappointed that they were stuffed inside and wasn't a side of fries. My mom did smother then wrap with ketchup which I thought was odd, but she enjoyed it and that's all that mattered. Next time I'll order her the Kabab Fries($14.90- Crave Fries plus protein. I think that will be bigger hit for her. My dad had the Chicken Protein Bowl ($16.90) Saffron Chicken Kebab (huge pieces), SuperGreens (aka lettuce), feta, hummus, tzatziki, crispy chickpeas (Crispy but not crunchy like a corn nut), red cabbage slaw, romaine, pickled onions, tomatoes, cucumber, and garlic yogurt. He then smothered it with the Dill Yogurt sauces from the back of the restaurant. The Dill Yogurt and Original Garlic Yogurt are both kept on ice which make me fill more comfortable as they are both milk products. Ambiance was good. I felt like I was in a Kebab restaurant. You order a the counter and they give you a buzzer. The buzzer will buzz when your order is ready and then you go to the back counter and pick up your order on a metal tray. The condiments are help yourself in the back along with the soda machine. The have 2 unisex bathrooms with hand dryers that took a bit to turn. On. I almost gave up on it and air dried my hands. The sensor must be off. Parking is a little tricky during meal hours. It's part of a strip mall with a shared parking lot. All the spaces were taken out front so we walked behind the Thai restaurant closer to Safeway and found parking. It was a little bit of a walk compared to all the spaces our front, but not bad for able bodied individuals. I'd come back now knowing where the extra yogurt is as the wrap was a bit on the dry side. I wish they would put more sauce on the inside and add a little more flavor to it. I found it a bit on the bland side. Next time I'll try some of their spicier yogurt sauces. Also next time I'll order mom the loaded fries. I didn't know she was such a big fan of fries. read more

The grilled steak was so hard to chew, it was almost impossible, I couldn't even eat 2 pieces of it, had throw it away. Chicken meat is okay, nothing fancy or wrong. I liked how they add grilled veggies on side, their hummus was ok as well. In general, that's not a good Mediterranean place to go. I'd rather definitely go somewhere else next time. I finally had the opportunity to try the Kebab Shop, this location in Walnut Creek. I have heard so many great things about this biz and was so excited at the opportunity to give it a-go. A few things stood out to me while there. I love that the menu is visual and shares what items will already be in a bowl and what items you can add additionally or for a small fee. Essentially you choose a base, fillings, and protein. I also love the family-owned feels and the complimentary sauce bar..if there's one thing this girl loves, it's her sauces! You can have the option of O.G. yogurt, fire chili, cilantro-jalapeño, or dill yogurt. There are also sides & salad options, as well as yummy protein options including carved chicken and chickpea falafels. I chose a wrap on the 'famous' charred flatbread. It was SO good and also SO big. See picture below but literally my entire forearm. I can see why this flatbread is instagrammable, it's literally delicious but also quite sizable. I wanted to try something unique and ordered the San Diego wrap (comes with feta and fries) and my husband did a gyro bowl with saffron rice and added pita crumbles. We also did a side hummus and pita, and side cranberry kale salad. Honestly, everything was stellar. Service was fast and efficient, and the WC location was super clean. Ok. I am sooooo sad to even write this but I've noticed the past few times of coming here the food portions have DECREASED DRASTICALLY. This is NOT OK! The price we pay.....the plate of food I order should not be half the size of the plate. When I first came here I would order the wrap and literally pay extra for stuff but they charge 1.50 per extra ya want then when I got my wrap it was like 2 French fries for 1.50. Tablespoon of rice or hummus when you pay $1.50 per extra add on. This is not ok and they fixed it bc I would walk it and they noticed me. But sadly I can't keep coming here for the price they charge and the amount of food they give and I hear this is what they are told to do. They say they can only give a certain portion and it's Just not worth it anymore to me. Hopefully your company changes and actually give people the amount they deserve in which they paid. I do wish TKS would bottle there OG yogurt bc I would buy it but bc of the cost and the decrease amount in food I can't eat here anymore. read more

Missing the famous donor kebabs that we enjoyed in Berlin we were advised by a family friend to try The Kebab Shop as a local substitute. We stopped by on a weekend afternoon - I decided to try the falafel bowl on saffron rice with all of the toppings, and others in my group ordered the wrap with the beef-lamb and the bowl with the kofta. After placing our orders at the counter, we waited about 20-25 minutes for our order to be prepared (the restaurant had a couple of groups dining in, and there seemed to be a handful of phone orders coming through). While we waited, I grabbed some extra cilantro and chili sauces. The portion sizes are generous - my falafel bowl had five pieces, and the wraps were stuffed with meat. While on the denser side, the falafel had good flavor, and it wasn't dry. That being said, I'd highly recommend adding the cilantro and chili sauces for an extra dimension of flavor and to liven up the rest of the ingredients. The rice was solid, but the pickled vegetables (red onion and cabbage) and the tomato & cucumber salad lacked flavor on their own. The yogurt dressing somewhat compensated for this, but I would have liked the red onion and cabbage to have more *zing.* read more

One thing that I really appreciate at The Kebab Shop is the above and beyond service that employees such as Rose and Tekari provide - having to juggle between one end of the store to the other shows that not only do they care about the reception of the customer, but they also care about the quality of the food they provide as well (as evident in the photo presented of one of their dishes, the Protein Bowl). I'm happy to come here on a regular basis given how nice the workers here are, as well as their healthy meals (which is a big plus these days). read more

This review refers to their pricing structure and their lackluster customer service (yes, the women who work behind the counter are RUDE). I ordered delivery (from the TKS app) and paid the $9.00 delivery fee (even though they are less than a mile from my house). Then there are taxes (not their fault). Then there is the tip (understandable). What rubs me the wrong way is that there is ANOTHER service charge on top of the delivery fee. That's just bullsh*t. I also dislike that they charge different prices for Door Dash (I get that a lot of companies do this). That's why I order directly from them even though I get a better deal on Door Dash. My actual item that I ordered was $14.00 (a bowl) and a small side salad ($5.50) After the delivery fee, service fee (ugh), taxes, and tip (20%), my total was just under $30. That is INCLUDING a $10 off coupon. And I had to wait an hour for the delivery. Enough is enough! Treat your customers better. Get rid of that service fee. Hire nicer people. You've got good food going for you, but your customer service is mediocre and can't be remedied with a coupon. Do better. read more

This place is smaller than expected and kind of makes me think of the restaurant next door that sells grilled fish. The man who helped us in the front was pretty nice and answered our questions about hummus. Turns out that the additional $1.50 for the hummus for your wrap is really just a tiny sauce cup size. For a full side of hummus to go along with anything is an additional $5.50. This did catch me off guard because most of the Mediterranean places will just put the hummus on your plate without charging you for the full price of a side. I also wonder why we end up paying 15% tip which we volunteer to do when there is essentially no service. We have to go pick up our food and bring it back to our table and then we cleared our table afterwards. The food was pretty good but nothing special. The wrap is very light and the flatbread is like a very thin tortilla. It's very nice that it is grilled. However the wrap is rather a small meal because it is very skinny so it's mostly lettuce and a little bit of meat. We had the carved chicken thigh which was pretty tasty but messy because it consists of small shredded pieces that fall everywhere. The plate is probably the best thing to order if you're hungry. They give you plenty of rice and salad. Be very careful of the salad dressing because it's very sour and mostly vinegar. I threw the entire tiny cup of dressing into my salad and all I could taste was vinegar which was very unpleasant. The rice is very chewy and not light like other places but it has a very strong saffron flavor. If you ever cooked with saffron, you know that the flavor of saffron is like tasting the sea. I could really taste the sea in this rice. The rice is very chewy so if you like light rice then this is not for you. I think the rice was possibly the tastiest thing that I had today. My husband and I split both the wrap and the grilled chicken plate. It's hard to say which one is better because they are very similar in flavors. The grilled chicken is pretty good but very very skinny. The photo of the kebab on the website is a lot bigger than what you actually get in person. It's almost half the size. It's the skinniest chicken kabob I've ever laid my eyes on. For $40 for the two of us, we were full but it does seem a bit steep for what you actually get which is mostly rice and salad. The protein should definitely be increased for this price point. It's too bad because we really wanted to like this place. We go to Mediterranean restaurants all the time and we tend to pay a little more than this but we always get more protein than this. At this price point, they would have to give us a little bit more protein or add a little extra like a hummus to entice us to come regularly. Next time we might go next door to the grilled fish restaurant. It's also a chain restaurant too. They give you a lot of protein there. read more

Yeeeeeppp! The Kebab Shop has got that fiyaaaah! Extremely fresh, flavorful, and filling. Three F's that I stand by wholeheartedly. I've eaten here 3 times now and I can honestly say that I'm a fan. First off, their meats are so flavorful. I usually go for their carved chicken, but their lamb/beef meat combo is also very tasty. The meat is always tender and well seasoned. I absolutely adore their hummus and I can't come here without getting it now. It's so rich and creamy. All of their sauces are amazing and I usually mix all of them in with my entree. I'm telling you, it just enhances the flavor profile to 1000%. Not that it needs it, but it just elevates it in the best way possible. The bowl is pretty much my go-to and I've been getting it with rice and salad. It just feels so... healthy. Which is really what I need in my life since I've been eating so much junk lately. I finally gave in and got a hummus wrap for the first time a few days ago though. Not sure why I did that because now I may never get that bowl again. The wrap is superb, folks. Plus, it made not one... but TWO meals for me. It. Was. HUGE. And guess what? The one who always takes waaay too many damn pictures didn't even get a picture of it! I know... don't judge me. I've been lazy and I was hangry. But please believe me when I say that it was one of the best chicken hummus wraps that I've had in a long while. I'll also admit that I like it more than the bowl, although the bowl is scrumptious too. Oh yeah, I can't forget those crave fries! BOMBSY! I had an old Yelp check-in offer for half off Crave fries that sweet lady at the register redeemed for me. I usually wouldn't order something like that, but I'm glad that I did because it was pretty damn delicious.
