Chicken shawarma wrap was stacked, actual portions not the sad little wraps you get at most places. Mint lemonade was the real suprise, fresh and not too sweet, got two of them. Tried the tri tip shawarma fries after seeing them on someones table and yeah that was the right call. Cheese melted into the fries just right, tahini sauce on top pulled it together. Counter service works fine here, staff brought everything out fast and checked in without being annoying. The food was flavorful, and they were generous with the amount of meat served. Because of that, I felt they could have included a little more rice to balance the portion, but it's hard to complain about getting plenty of chicken. The service was good and the ordering process was simple. You place your order at the counter and then choose a seat either inside or outside while you wait for your food. Inconsistent. Used to be pretty good, but lately our orders just seemed off. We were fans of their kefta kebab plates, chicken kebab plates for the kids, and chicken fries to share. Good news is the sides have been pretty consistent and have been tasty, notably their rice, hummus (yum!), and tomato cucumber salad. Their chicken kebabs have been a kids fave (just a lil dry for me), so yay for that. Their kefta kebabs usually come with 4 lil ones so it's a bit on the pricier end for their plates, but recently it's been globs of salty mess as if some binding ingredient(s) were forgotten or something. Not sure what happened, but the pita bread for the plate to go was covering the "kebabs" so unsure if it was intentional for them to hide that. Their version of fries have been a favorite within the fam, but recently, the chicken on has been so off that I had to spit it out, worrying that I'd def get food poisoning or something. It tasted so off. The fries and cheese on them were great though. Been to Manakish for takeout many times, but my recent experiences pushes me to find another spot for this type of food. Stopped here after seeing their pics and reading all their reviews. Lots of great choices. Decided on the flatbread with cheese and olives. As I went up to the counter, a young woman looked up from whatever she was reading. No greeting, no smile...nothing. Hmmm not a good start. When my flatbread arrived I was ready to dig in BUT I had NO napkins, cutlery and none were offered by the young woman. Hmmmm... is it me?? Flatbread was very tasty and was about the size of a medium pizza. It could have used some seasoning..salt maybe pepper...anything. Was that available? They are located on the corner of N Main St and Treat Blvd in a busy intersection. The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating, so we decided to sit outside to enjoy the warm weather. We wanted to try their flatbreads so ordered the Zaatar & Whipped Kefir Manakish and didn't like the hard texture of the flatbread. The whipped kefir did not help with making then dish more flavorful and also didn't like the Kalamata olives. The fries could have been crispier. The falafels in the bowl were super hard. I think it's one of the worse falafels I've ever had. Very disappointed with the quality of the dishes and felt like they should have nailed it given that they are a Mediterranean restaurant. Our experience was really just ok. We bookmarked this place because it seemed really cute from passing by with their market lights and outdoor seating, and we finally got to try them. They also seem pretty popular. Their parking is pretty limited, and it's kind of hard to get out if you find there is no parking left. We had to park in the adjacent plaza. First off, there was a large party in the restaurant already and they were quite loud (definitely nothing the restaurant staff could do about). Since their party took up most of the restaurant, there was limited seating indoors as a result (maybe 4 more tables). The menu seemed pretty varied. We ended up ordering sujuk (spicy sausage) and cheese flatbread, cauliflower and eggplant fatteh bowl, and knafeh cheesecake. We also wanted to order baba ganoush, but they had sold out. We waited for over 25 minutes and were wondering why our order hadn't come out yet. We were even listening for our order. I think it was unfortunate, because the large party was loud, and the staff didn't bother to check in on us/walk our order over to us when we didn't come over when they had supposedly called our order out. Besides that, the service at the counter was ok, and it was really hard to hear the cashier explain the dessert options in the fridge case. The other unfortunate part is that the food got cooler as a result of us waiting longer than we had to because we hadn't heard our order and no one checked in on us. The sujuk (spicy Lebanese sausage) and cheese flatbread was a good size, but for how much toppings you get compared to the other options, it seems this was pretty skimpy. The sujuk was cut pretty thick and there was like maybe 4 pieces on each large slice. The cheese was nice and gooey, but the amount of toppings did not justify the $24 price when the lahm bajin is $21 and the pictures on Yelp seem to show ample toppings. The only other toppings on our flatbread included red onions and cilantro, which was barely there. I would probably avoid the sujuk and cheese flatbread. Cauliflower and eggplant fatteh bowl - this was a decently sized bowl, but there were less toppings than we expected compared to other Mediterranean restaurants. We opted for half rice and half salad. Then it comes with cucumber tomato salad, a large scoop of hummus, pickles and turnips, and house sauce. I honestly do not remember the pickles and turnips, and this bowl seemed to fall flat. The hummus was very fresh. The amount of eggplant compared to cauliflower was a bit skimpy, but seasoned well. I really wished they had more of these toppings. The rice was very clumpy and not necessarily cooled down from sitting there, but seemed to have been reheated. The knafeh cheesecake was ok. The knafeh was a bit soggy from sitting on the cheesecake itself. The cheesecake was pretty standard, creamy, not too sweet. Our most recent kabob was made up of low quality cuts of extremely thick slices of steak that were almost inedible. The fries were bland outside of the paprika they were dusted with. For a price tag of over $30 it was of such poor quality that we decided it was our last visit to Manakish. It appears to be a big portion but it's really the container (take out) that is the illusion. Also tried their mint lemonade (very delish, fresh made). The pita is handmade and the food is filing and feels like a farm to table vibe. I appreciated the large portion of hummus, wish I had more pita and chicken kebab (it's only 1 kebab). Plates come with a garlic sauce and their own hot sauce. Service was very welcoming, engaging in small talk and overall added to the ambiance of this restaurant. The flavors were different from what I'm used to, but I enjoyed them. the combination of the seasoned rice, tri-tip, fresh lettuce, and vegetables. The hummus wasn't really my favorite, but that's just a personal preference. I also had to purchase the pita bread separately, which I didn't mind. But I would have expected you to come with the dish. Unfortunately, the service didn't match the quality of the food. This was my first time visiting, and tomorrow is my birthday, so I was excited to try a new place. The gentleman at the register wasn't very welcoming, and I was hoping for a warmer first impression. My buddy and fellow Elite David A. was selected to participate in the 2025 Badge Bash event here, and he invited me to tag along. We came here on 01/27/2025 at 4:30pm. Upon entering, we were greeted by Niya the owner. She was very friendly and welcoming. The interior was clean and well-maintained. David told her he was part of the YEE and she immediately checked him in. For the YEE, David was comped with a starter (Beef Shawarma Fries), an entrée (Lamb Kebab Plate), a bottle of freshly squeezed lemonade, and baklava. He also purchased a Chicken Shawarma Bowl and another bottle of lemonade for me. The food was ready in about 15 minutes, and Niya brought it to us. We were pleasantly surprised by the generous portions. Just the comped part of the meal was more than enough for two people. The quality of the food was excellent. The pieces of lamb kebab were nicely charred, tender, and flavorful. Brisket was used for the Beef Shawarma Fries and it was tasty and moist. We also enjoyed the lemonade and bakalva. Overall, the entire experience was a great one! Niya treated us like valued guests, and the food was pridefully prepped and delicious. Came to Manakish in Walnut Creek because I love Lebanese food and especially manakish, so I was excited to try it. We ordered the chicken shawarma wrap, a tri-tip manakish, a fattoush salad, and a chicken kebab plate. It took over 30 minutes for the food to come out, which was a bit of a wait. There was also a mix-up with the order, they made a chicken shawarma manakish instead of the wrap, but it wasn't a big deal and I still ate it. The flatbread itself was okay, nothing particularly special. The fattoush salad was missing pomegranate molasses, which I feel is a key ingredient, so I ended up adding some I had at home. It was kind of early, maybe 10 AM, and I didn't even think they would be open, but then I realized they did have the sign outside on the sidewalk. I walked by the front door and it opened automatically. My heart started to flutter. So I went to look at their menu online and saw that they had chicken shawarma bowls. I love chicken shawarma. I decided to look them up on Yelp and make sure they had good reviews. I realized that they were a sponsored ad, and that gave me pause. The last time I went to a Middle Eastern restaurant that was sponsored, it was not so great, so I quickly checked the reviews. They have pretty good reviews! One review said that the chicken was dry, but others were more positive. I had a really good feeling, so I ordered it. Another reviewer commented that the rice was so good -- and they're not normally a rice enthusiast -- so when I placed my order, I upgraded my rice from the white rice that comes with the order to the rice infused with turmeric and garbanzo beans. When I opened my order, the bowl was a pretty decent size. If my husband had been with me, we probably would've been able to split it. In my order, I saw: * Seasoned chicken drizzled with shawarma and a delicious white sauce. * Hummus * Tomato cucumber salad * And this yellow turmeric rice I couldn't resist -- the rice was the first thing I tasted, and it was delicious! I can't quite figure out what flavors are in there, but I could taste a hint of cinnamon, and there were definitely other flavors there. The chicken was moist and flavorful. The hummus could very easily be the best hummus I've ever had. I really enjoyed this meal. I really wanted to eat the entire bowl myself but decided to save half of it for my daughter, who I know will also love it. Customer service was excellent. Adam was at the counter and greeted me very warmly. And when I was leaving, they asked me if I wanted hot sauce and then they put that in the bag. Overall, I give this five stars. I love that the food comes in an eco-friendly container. If there's anything that I could change, it's probably that they put it in a plastic bag instead of a paper bag. I try to avoid plastic as much as possible, but the container was quite big and needed to be in a bag while I hiked back to the oil change place. Oh, and before I forget... one of the first things I asked before I ordered is if the shawarma plate was gluten-free, and he assured me that everything in it was unless I was getting pita. Sis and I got similar meals of baked falafel, but I had a wrap and she had a bowl. The bowl had lettuce, rice, cucumber tomato salad, hummus, pickles, turnips, tahini sauce and of course, baked falafel. The wrap was mostly the same but had lavash bread instead of rice. It was good the next day, but I wished I had some tzatziki sauce. There's a case with refrigerated drinks, with combinations like lemon and mint. The size of the cauliflower and eggplant bowl is huge and deep! The seasoning is just right. Loved the color arrangement and flavor of the chilled crunchy veggies on top - also glad they offered half rice and half salad greens. I had also ordered the zataar and whipped kefir flatbread to go, but tried some while I was there. The flatbread is amazing - soft and pillowy, almost melts in your mouth. Next time I'll get the cauliflower and eggplant flatbread with some chicken shawarma fries (the people next to me were raving about them). We tried the chicken shawarma bowl & wrap - let me tell you, the portion sizes are so generous and filling! I loved the spices the chicken was seasoned with. The pickled veggies were nice and crisp. The large scoops of hummus provided in the bowl is so good! One thing I would say is I wish the bowl was built a little differently because the rice gets buried underneath the hummus and the lettuce is also hard to find at the bottom of the bowl. The manakeesh was just so soft and doughy and over whelming almost 95 percent zaatar couldn't get past one slice even. The shawarma tasted like it came out of a boiled plastic bag from all the juices, not traditional or done right at all and the fries were over bearingly salty as well. This is my second time here and it's exceptional. This is not just a simple kebab shop. Everything has well developed authentic flavors combined with large portions and the freshest ingredients. And while normally I'm not a fresh juice person, the fresh strawberry juice is worth the splurge. I had the opportunity to visit Manakish again recently in an attempt to redeem my previous visit. This visit was much better than my first visit. I took my son & coworker with me, we ordered 2 chicken shawarma bowls, 1 chicken shawarma wrap & the cheese fries. Our order came out with first the 2 bowls & then about 10 min later, the wrap & fries came out, so the spacing was a little off putting, especially as we watched multiple customers who came in & ordered after us receive their food before we received the rest of our order. Manakish has been on my list for a long time thanks to IG reels. I saw a hilarious reel with comedian Naw_sir (Nassir is his name I believe) and I couldn't stop staring at their Manakish flatbreads. Plus they support Palestine and are Halal certified. Came with a dear friend and we left STUFFED and so happy. The food is so tasty, flavorful, hot, and of the greatest ingredients. I highly recommend the shawarma fries. We couldn't finish it, and had to take it home. I didn't ask for extra cheese, but I'm really glad they did that because it just elevated everything. It tasted really good the next day in the air fryer too. I got the za'atar and whipped kefir flatbread/pizza and it was DIVINE. Their flatbread is out of this world. I have no idea how it's so freaking soft but it's like a pillow on my tongue. I can't eat pita or any other flatbread any more because Manakish truly elevated the game, and that olive oil is like golden butter. SO rich and full of nutrients. Restroom is single stall and clean. Parking is a small lot, but it's more of like a no-frills, simple sit down spot vs a full service restaurant. So people come and go. Outdoor seating is GREAT for folks with dogs. Really wish we had a Manakish here in Oakland, but I'll happily make the drive to Walnut Creek to get my hands on those fries and that flatbread. Mm! read more

Tried this place out after my honey had them catered at his workplace. He loved it so much he convinced me to try it. It's a small and very clean establishment with good decor and bright lighting 4/5. The lady at the counter was kind and ready to take our order as soon as we made our decisions 4/5. Now let's get to the food. We both ordered lamb kabob wraps and they're a pretty decent size (the average California burrito size). The wrap was well constructed and help up until the end, when it got so soggy it fell apart. The meat was a bit more gamey than I expected but the meat was way too big in size and I think that contributed to that. The wrap itself was about a 3/5 for me. The chicken shawarma fries were by far the highlight. I'm a huge fan of steak fries, and theirs were top tier, but the chicken on the fries lacked good seasoning, and all of the cheese was piled below the friends, so that gets a 4/5. I think this is my favorite Mediterranean spot in the Bay. I make it a point to stop by whenever I'm in the area which is usually after a doctor's appointment. It wasn't even close to what shawarma is supposed to be. Instead of proper sliced shawarma off a spit, it was more like shredded beef--almost like a birria-style filling. Calling that shawarma is honestly crazy. The fries were good, I'll give them that--but that's literally the only positive. If you're advertising this as a Middle Eastern spot, the shawarma should be the standard, not completely off. Based on this experience, I wouldn't come back or try anything else.
