One of the worst local meals we've had in the area. We tried the appetizers, plated entrees, and wraps- everything was a huge disappointment. The barg filet was so overcooked that it was challenging just to chew through it. The wrap was so dry and bland. We love Persian food and actually came here with Persian friends, so they know what real, good Persian food is! What a let down. Service was also abysmal. We came for a late lunch and were literally the only party in the entire restaurant. We had a teenage waiter who could not have cared less about our experience and we waited over 30 minutes for our food. Very confusing as there are numerous positive reviews online. read more

The free appetizer they give you is so good! The baba ganoush was a little different than what I'm used to and the spanitopika was ok, a little extra cheesy. The falafel wrap was ok, I wish they had added more falafel to be honest. It was a nice little spot to eat outside for lunch. Went here for my birthday, service was really good and there's a guy who sings and plays on a Sunday! I think I ended up getting the gyro platter. It's a LOT of food so just be aware of that lol. One of the best takeout options in Danville! Great for my family, we'll just give them a call and pick it up 15 minutes later. I highly recommend Santorini. My wife and I enjoyed this wonderful restaurant on weekends and their take-away during the week. All the specialties we have tried were excellent. Babaganoush, Greek Salad, Chicken Shawarma, and Gyros were all delicious. I especially enjoyed getting a side order of Gyro to go with any of the salads-- just fantastic. The flatbread and dressings are already wonderful. When the main dishes come, they just make the meals so wonderful. On Fridays and Saturdays l, our dinners were accompanied by Steven Douglas Mullins, who has a strong but mellow baritone voice to sing all the great songs from the standards. read more

We went to this restaurant for a birthday dinner. The menu is extensive. They did not rush us, I had enough time to decide what I wanted to try. I would go back again to try something other than what I ordered. After going back and forth between what I wanted, I went all out and had a cup of the Greek Lemon Chicken soup and the Chicken Marsala. Pat had Dolmas and grilled prawns. My soup was okay I thought it was a little bland. If I go again I will have Lentil soup. The sauce on the Chicken Marsala combined: wine, mushrooms, garlic, and lemon over fettuccini. The lemon, which wasn't mentioned on the menu, gave it the flavor of Greece. It was delicious. The chicken breast that sat on top was dry and overcooked. I pushed it aside and ate the pasta. I had plenty of leftovers. When I heated this meal the next day, I cut the chicken and mixed it in the sauce it was an improvement. I tasted the grilled prawns. If I had ordered this I would have been happier. read more

A hidden local gem. This restaurant has been our go to for family dinners many years now. Food always fresh and delicious. Best pita and dip to start off your meal every single time. Very appreciative about having a free appetizer in this day and age a testimony that this restaurant still wants to please their customers and not just pump money from us. The food was good and priced right. I had their lunch special and we shared the dessert and paid $27 each, including tax and tip. I think it's well worth it. The service was pleasant too, even if there was just one server. The ambience was beautiful, giving you that Santorini feeling for sure with all the paintings and decorations. Updated review, for in-person dining on Friday/Saturday. Santorini has quietly risen to one of our top family dinner places, especially on Fridays and Saturdays. For those nights, they have live music with this older gentlemen with an amazing voice. He sings many of the classics from Sinatra, Elvis, etc. His rendition of "For Your Eyes Only" was superb. Definitely helps sets the mood and his voice even seems to calm down my now threenager! As for the food, Santorini has always been great at chicken and koobideh kabobs. We have recently discovered some real gems however: Moussaka - This is my son's favorite dish and I swear he can eat half of it. Like a lasagna except its layered with eggplant, tomato sauce, ground beef/lamb, and layered with cheese. Super delicious and hard to make at home. My son probably got hooked on this dish from his first day at daycare, where the family made a blended version of this dish for him. I have to admit, I'm also a huge fan. Grilled Salmon - On our last visit, we had the most amazing grilled salmon. A thick fillet and seasoned with simple salt, pepper, and squeeze of lemon. But man, it was cooked perfectly and was so juicy and flavorful. Somehow it stayed moist through the entire dinner. Flatbread - These are always free when you dine in, and is soft, chewy and great with that dip. If you order from Doordash, they'll charge you for both the bread and the dip separately. Our search for good moussaka led us to Santorini Mediterranean. Unfortunately, it was the worst version I've ever tasted. There was no bechamel sauce, very little eggplant and totally lacking the spices associated with this classic Greek dish. It was just layers of potato slices and ground meat that might have been beef as it had no lamb flavor whatsoever. Will not return. read more

Extremely inconsistent restaurant. I've had great koubidehs from them, and I've had absolutely terrible koubidehs. Simply put, the kitchen has good and bad days. Unfortunately for them, today was a show of their worst. I ordered a koubideh, and instead received a burnt briquette that would rival a school ground bouncy ball in terms of which is a chewier and bouncier. The rice, of all things they skimp on -- in favor of undercooked and unseasoned vegetables. I'm used to the nice and tender and juicy and butter meat, but with these off days, I cannot and will not continue to support this business. read more

I have been eating at Santorini for years with no issues, however lately it has been going down hill in terms of cleanliness. The floors are dirty and my shoes were sticking to the bottom of the tile flooring . The bathrooms need a deep cleaning as the floor, sink, toilet and walls are dirty. Also the doors that separate the walkway to the bathrooms are covered in stains. Lastly, tables and chairs need a deep cleaning. They have to do better with cleaning especially since the cost of a kebab plate (rice and salad ) is 22.00, expensive. read more

The new cook should be flipping burgers at Mcdonald's. I first ordered the shrimp appetizer. It was basically a brothy soup with flavorless, shrimp and uncooked spinach with lots of feta. I returned it and got the koubiddeh luncheon plate which was worse. The new cook did not know how to cook koubiddah correctly. The meat was undercooked and not charred. The rice was flavorless old and skimpy. The hummus was the worst i've ever tasted. The greek salad used to be fresh and flavorful. This review is purely for the Iranian New Year event this restaurant catered for in Orinda back in March. First off, I think the organizers underestimated the number of people coming out. But this place charged me $20 for 1 skewer of koobideh and even forgot the rice- I had to go back and ask for it. I should say, there was a massive bottleneck at this event and it took 2.5 hours for me to get my kabob. I was overall, really hungry and very disappointed. Well that's it. Last time I will go to this restaurant. I use to go at least once a month for my favorite pomegranate chicken and my husband loved the lamb. About three months ago my husband and I had a very disappointing meal. The lamb reeked of old meat. But I still craved the pomegranate chicken that was soooooo good years ago. So last night I gave it one more try. OMG so bad. Chicken so dry, it was like sawdust. And no pomegranate sauce at all. Veggies were awful too. Old broccoli and pre-prepared carrot sticks. Still, it was good enough to order again. Bottomline, we loved the food and the service. Prices were fair, and oh yes, we'll be back. Good food, beautiful ambiance and great service. Went here randomly for my birthday dinner, checking at yelp for a place to eat and stumbled upon this. We love greek food and I would recommend this place because first you will feel like you're in Santorini (I can say this because we've been there for our honeymoon) due to the interior of the restaurant with the Santorini picture as their wall, the blue and white tables and chairs and the vibes feels like you are in Santorini. The lady who served us was very attentive, approachable and friendly. She always checks on us from time to time. The food was good, I ordered Moussaka since I'm craving for it and it's the first Greek restaurant in the bay area that I found having it on the menu while my husband ordered the chicken pesto fettuccine and it was good too. Don't forget to put the sauce on the side for the Moussaka because it's dry without it. Our favorite is their pita bread with their complimentary dip and we ordered the tzatziki dip. The server gave us baklava for my birthday. I'm not a fan of baklava since every baklava I tried were too sweet but theirs is not. From the time I had this place booked parked as wanted to visit, got slightly disappointed in not meeting there island, relaxed and welcoming Santorini vibe. From the moment stepped in, got greeted worth "What can I help you with?". Well, that's one way to greet the customers. After I helped myself with table selection, proceeded with ordering a late lunch: Greek salad and spanakopita. To my great disappointment the cucumber crops turned out very soggy this year and unfortunately ran short on baking so had to warm and serve. On the serious note, cucumbers were spoiled in the salad and had to be replaced, spanakopita was soggy and all crooked.
