Ok I love love Pita Cafe, but I am a fan of this place now. First things first: from reading the reviews I expected a dumpy restuarant inside with good food; nevertheless I was pleasantly surprised. In the past week they did a redo...New floor, booths and decor.....Very nice upgrades.....We did take out....The server was very helpful to tell us what everything was and recommended some things. We ordered the combo and tried everything.....The meats were so tender and full of flavor. The garlic sauce is not very strong. :( There potatoe choice is french fries and their bread is just slice up, thin pita bread warmed up. Overall I would definely recommed and I will definely be going back. A meal is around $10 bucks and the portion are huge. We wanted to try this place since it was always super busy and I pass it on a daily basis. When we got there on a Saturday evening it was in disarray and they told us to sit where ever. We sat down at a table and they took a few minutes to get to us, threw a bowl of garlic sauce on the table and a pitcher of water and a couple of menus that were super sticky. Long story short I probably wouldn't recommend eating here if you are even remotely picky about how clean your dishes are, or if you want good service. Get carryout. Don't dine in. read more

I have eaten here several times and the LEBANESE FOOD is great. However the menu on yelp displays quite the PERSIAN selection of dishes. My wife called to verify this and was given a very foul sharp tongue response of "this is a Lebanese restaurant, why would we have persian food?!". We found this to be very rude and not how you treat past and potential customers. But perhaps this is all part of the experience and with good Arab food you get some Arab hospitality and for the ambiance I gave it two stars since the food was good and the middle eastern experience. You did not get any more stars since I did not find it cute, or endearing for the treatment we received for asking a question about the menu. read more

I love their food here. Although I will say it is MUCH better to eat there than to do carry out. Eating there you get more food, the hot bread, more garlic sauce. Doing take out you get the bagged pita, small garlic, and as much food as they can stuff in a take out box (still a lot) But the last few times I have done the weekly carry out for my office there have been missing items. And it sucks to get back to your desk only to find out two people do not have food. Despite that I still enjoy eating there cause everything I have had has been delicious. read more

Decent place that gets jam packed at lunch with mostly gm workers. For all the business they get they would be smart to put two cash registers and two people up front rather than just one. Re-opened 6/8 for dine in food. Yay! Food was great as usual. However..... restaurant cooks were NOT wearing masks. I discovered this after we ate, and went to the restroom (dirty, water puddles on the floor in a stall of ladies room). I called the store the next morning to let them know what I saw. They were VERY defensive (I was asked how I knew this, she wasn't there yesterday so...., etc) and would barely listen to what I was trying to say...... I was trying to help them avoid some kind of violation. We have loved this restaurant in the past but it was pretty obvious they weren't ready to open up. It felt like such a treat to sit and eat somewhere for the first time since Mar 7th. The stars given would be a 4 for the food; I really want to give it a 2 for everything else. Also, new menu has priced every item between .30-.50 higher than last menu. I can appreciate that, but I feel like Restaurant should be going further to bring people back. But the food is so good, I am sure people will flock in anyway. When you put a sign on your door stating you must wear a mask to walk in as in 6/8/20, then everyone inside including chefs better have one on. I just had lunch at the Kebab House. I think it's the same place as the Super Kebab House - it's located at the same address - but there is nothing Super about it. Several reviewers said the service at this restaurant was bad and their waitress was 'really cranky' (Marj J.), while others said the service was 'efficient and super friendly' (Jen M.), or 'fast and pleasant' (Mary Y.). I know that a waitress can get 'cranky' when she's rushed, so I came in at 3 PM, after the lunch hour rush. I was the only customer in the place, but I still had to sit and wait while 3 waitresses stood at the back discussing who they were going out with tonight. Finally they finished talking, and one of them brought me a basket of pitas and garlic sauce. Contrary to what several reviewers (Jen M., Mary Y. and Katie G.) said, the tables were not already set with pitas, garlic sauce and a glass of water when I walked in. Most of the tables had not yet been cleared from the lunch hour rush. I had to look around before I found a clean table. I ordered the chicken gallaba with lentil soup. The lentil soup was OK, but I've had better. I've never had worse gallaba. It was definitely not 'supremely fresh' (Joe H.). It had the bland taste of leftovers warmed up in a microwave. Not only did it look limp and withered, liked leftovers. If these leftovers were sitting in my refrigerator at home, I would throw them out. I went to this restaurant because I found a 10% off coupon for it in the newspaper. But when I paid the bill, the waitress would not honor the coupon. I didn't bother to argue with her about it because the meal was cheap. You get what you pay for. read more

I was in the mood for some Middle Eastern cuisine and after reading all the reviews on Yelp, I just had to try it. The inside decor is cute has adequate seating. The pita bread that seemed to come endlessly was fresh and I quite frankly ate too much so I couldn't finish my entree. I ordered the Kibbeh Nayeh because I was curious to see what raw ground beef tasted like. I was pleasantly surprised. I could taste the cinnamon and bulgur wheat. MMM. I ordered the lamb shawarma plate and I could not finish it. My friend ordered the Super Falafel and that was delicious too. The portions are HUGE. Good bang for your buck. Kabob House is the lunchtime gem for GM Techies and TACOMers. I absolutely love the food and have had a hard time finding comparable Lebanese food. The closest I've found is La Saj in Shelby Township, but in Warren Kabob House hands down. I haven't tried a lot of things on the menu because I have a hard time not ordering the chicken shawarma - its sooooo good! I have tried the falafel sandwich when I gave up meat for lent and it was really good too. Unfortunately, Kabob House is a little grungy so that knocks the rating down a bit. If the inside were a little cleaner and the décor a little nicer, it would definitely get 5 stars. read more

This place has saved my life. I just moved and it's about half a mile down the road from me. I get a carry out for a medium (it's huge..) fattoush salad for $5, and it comes with some pita bread and garlic dip. They have it out to me in less than 5 minutes. I've only been there twice now, and last time I didn't get the garlic dip and the pita bread was totally different :/ I'm hoping it was a fluke and that my future visits live up to my first. Either way, the flavors are amazing and the portions are plentiful, especially for the price. I'll be living here. read more

Visited Kabob House for dinner on Tuesday August 13, 2019 and what I experienced was very disappointing. I have been here for lunch since I work for GM and have never had a bad experience. However at dinner time I have had two experiences where customers have become irate with the management over trivial things. This last visit was resulted in an argument over a $2 overcharge on a lamb chop dinner where the customer was charged more than what was on the menu and the reason for this was the menus were being updated. The customer then yelled to the dining room about being overcharged, and the lady at the cash register (wears a head scarf and usually see her at lunch) began yelling back and asked the guy to leave. Next thing the entire kitchen crew is in the dining room watching the argument escalate and finally another patron called the Warren police. At that time a second woman came out to engage the customer and yelled "Bull$hit" to him and the F-Bombs began to fly! The customer - apparently a regular - left and the woman at the register explained that because she and the customer were Arab he was trying to make a scene and prove a point and that was why this happened. Nevertheless, we quickly finished our meal and left while the staff continued to talk and swear about this episode at the table next to us. Therefore, I will say I won't be back anytime soon for dinner and perhaps not even lunch. Would have expected the management to do a bit better of apologizing to all of us customers who had to experience this. Poor customer management was on display for all to see and I must say Ihave never seen anything quite like this in my life. read more

Ordered my food at 7:30 pm and it was ready by 7:45 pm. That's a good thing right ? The food was actually good only downside was it was wayyyyyyyyyy too salty especially the fattoush dressing (that's why I came was for the fattoush) someone recommended that they had good salads I was disappointed because it was so salty couldn't even finish it. My fault I should have tried it before adding the whole thing to my salad. We got the combo for two the rice was good. So was the meat that came with it the meat kabobs were a little red inside but that's ok. Baba ganoush was good too. Their garlic dip was a little salty too. My husband loves salt so if he says the food was salty then that's a problem he usually has to add salt to his food. I went to SKH based solely on the reviews here. I knew I would be driving by the area, so I was happy to stop and so looked forward to a new middle eastern restaurant to satisfy my falafel and salad cravings. Let me start by saying the location was easy to find and had ample parking in back, as well as a back entrance. The restaurant interior was really clean, smelled of deliciousness and the girl who waited on me was super busy and really nice. The place wasn't packed but the phone rang off the hook...good sign, indeed. I am always craving a salad, so I decided on the Rice Almond Salad with Chicken. It's the usual salad I get at my regular mid-eastern haunt, Shish Kabob Express in Troy. If it's a new place for me, I have to try the falafel...so I made sure to order the Falafel Platter. Add into that a cup of lentil soup and I had myself a feast for the next few days. After a short wait, I was on my way with my carry-out. When I finally was able to open all my goodies at home, color me disappointed to find that the salad had the dressing already on it and the lettuce blend was soggy. (Serves me right for not checking first) The portion was HUGE, gotta smile at that but it was 75% rice to 25% salad. Bummer. The chicken breast on top was super flavorful, though it didn't seem like there was much actual poultry. The rice was...well, rice but the salad didn't have much in the way of flavor. Much like Sheesh in Clawson and La Marsa in Troy, the dressing was extremely bland. No spice...the mix of tart and savory is completely missing. Another bummer. Onto the falafel. Wow...this is where it gets good! Nice spice, crunchy and they even reheat beautifully. The platter had 10 pieces and I am indulging on the last of it as I type. The only real problem...no tahini. Huh? Falafel without tahini is like spic without span. It's just not right. A few sour pickles and pickled turnips completed the garnish and while I did miss the tahini, I had some hummus at home that I used in place of it. And really, the falafel is so good, I really didn't need it. Still...not all is forgiven for that. I'm a tough customer. The lentil soup was the last of my delights and it was smashing! Thick, creamy but still had enough texture to make the tastebuds happy. In the words of Sophia Petrillo...if this soup "was a man, I'd get naked and make love to it!". Ahhh yeah...blissfully delcious. 3 stars because it's didn't live up to the reviewed hype, the missing tahini, the drenched salad and because I'm feeling a bit foul for a Monday. read more

We had a giant order for a business, we decided to go with them because we've heard others say great things about them. Only to find out that they forgot about our order, when we were expecting to have everyone fed at a certain time and had to wait additional time. The food of course, was great.
