Hey, it was super cool and afordable! We had a blast with live music and drinks. I loved the atmosphere and the service.

Went here for a second time. Had to downgrade my review this time. Our server Juan, was anything but pleasant. Almost seemed as if we were bothering him to be there. Long story short, we waited over 25 minutes for him to bring us our check and while we were waiting, another server was taking photos for a group of women and while taking this photo she not only impeded our space, she was actually in a leaning backwards position with her long hair on our table. Very uncouth. Please do better. Food was good. VERY Noisy. Not a place to go to if you want an intimate evening. Live band was amazing also.

I really enjoyed the live jazz band and the ambiance of this restaurant. The waiter was also very informative about their specials and the most popular items on the menu. As far as the food goes, it was just ok. I felt like our appetizer ( I forgot the exact name but it was similar to a cheese empanada) was too salty and my husband also mentioned that his entree had so much sodium in it to the point where it took away from the flavor of the food.

The inside of the restaurant is lovely with fireplaces and great lighting. Although we didn't show up on a day where they had jazz, it was a lovely restaurant. The service was great. He was very attentive, even though they close in an hour they allowed us to eat in peace. All 4 of us truly appreciated it !! The food came out cooked to perfection and tasted great. Their rice was the fluffiest and tastiest I've had in forever!! They only serve beer and wine which is fine with me. Oh they also serve wine based cocktails .. not something I'm particularly interested in but it would be nice for someone seeking something outside of the norm. I'd love to return again on a night that they have just to experience the meal with a jazz band.

THE BEST Greek salad my taste buds have experienced!

EDIT: Disappointed to find the receipt included a 20% gratuity (for two) and we added another 20% tip = 40% tip!? it was good, but not 40% tip good....i find this so shady! Almost $200 for 2 people is ridiculous! Minus 2 stars. Found this place by pure luck and what a treasure it was! The Sunday eve ambiance was sophisticated and sexy with its elevated Mediterranean cuisine, moody lounge with dimmed ceiling string lights, wall candles and faux fireplace. The food and wine impressed! We ordered wine, fig & goat cheese (to die for), the dip trio and Greek salad- all 5-stars (except the pita fell a little flat-didn't taste fresh). Then the live music began... a little seductive intro and sultry songs from the big screen giving old Hollywood vibes. We lingered to listen more and opted for a dessert to split and ordered a Napoleon which was the most light, flakey and decadent sweet I've ever had the pleasure of putting in my mouth. Seriously. Even the vanilla cream was so light, it left me feeling guilt-free and overall slight sedated with the entire experience. My only regret is not taking photos of the fig & goat cheese appetizer and the Napoleon dessert, both were beautifully presented and oh so delicious!

What a hidden gem! Tucked up in West Hills, this little restaurant will not disappoint. Nicely decorated entry way, nice big screened in patio, and nice dining room filled with twinkle lights. The blues is such a treat. Really talented musicians. Nice little stage set up at the front of the dining room. You can hear the music from inside or on the patio. Great wine selection. The food is yummy - although it overly relies on cheese to create flavor. Rich fat bombs, that are of course delicious, but heavy. We had the cheese burka. It's basically a mozzarella stick in a pastry dough. The mushroom julienne was a new item on the menu. The description in the menu doesn't describe it well. It's sautéed mushroom and onion which is then baked in cheese. Like a mushroom cheese dip. It should be served with pita on the side, but isn't. So we asked for some pita. The pita was just plain pita, barely heated. The branzino is really good. It's not a whole fish. It's 2 fillets, nicely cooked. The mashed potatoes on the side are perfect. They are the same potatoes as served with the steak. We ordered the crème brûlée. Unfortunately it was not brought out right after it was fired, so it was served with an over crisp sugar top and cold custard. The chef sent out a taste of the roast beef as a surprise. Wow. That was a tender piece of meat. So yummy.

I absolutely adored this restaurant! The whole ambiance of the restaurant was amazing. I enjoyed listening to live music while eating & drinking. You have to try the trio for your appetizer. It was divine! One of the best parts of this place is the hooka bar in the back. After dinner, I spent another hour and a half drinking and smoking hooka. Yuri helped us out and he was amazing!

5 stars for the vibe and service but sad to say the food is 2 stars at best. We live walking distance down the street and had been dying to try this place. My girlfriends and I decided to have a girls dinner date night here. It's very cute, definitely a vibe. They don't serve hard liquor (beer & wine only) but I think they are in the process of getting their license so hopefully soon they'll have some cocktails on the menu. The Babaganoush was awful. Served very cold (as if it came out of a refrigerator) & it is not like a spread or a dip. It's pieces of eggplant in a strange oily base. I have a lot of Lebanese and Syrian friends and have never had baba ganoush like olive & fig serves it. No bueno! I ordered the chicken lula and one of my girlfriends ordered the beef lula kebob plate. They were served cold... we are not complainers by any means but if we are paying to eat out we at least expect a warm meal. The server was very kind, he sent it back. The chef came out to apologize & warmed our food up for us. I would say it was 5/10 very averages. My other girlfriend ordered the chicken shwarma. It was cold but it was so disgusting. It tasted like it was marinated in pickle juice and a few bites gave her a stomach ache. The quick shops like Panini kebob grill have much better quality & tasty food and that should not be the case. It was really crowded so this place is definitely a great time with the live music but I hope they do better with their food quality. The only good item we tried was the hummus.

Not much into jazz but there was a birthday party planned here and went to this very obscure location located on the end of Roscoe and Valley Circle. Very tacky to charge 10.00 valet parking in a shopping mall Corner strip type place I just parked the cross the street for free. The Armenian mafia imposes its will once again. The interior is typical Armenian decor nice clean and modern furniture with colorfuul lighting. There was a dude singing some tunes mostly from the '80s he did a good job playing the keyboard at the same time. The inside is very cozy but now let's get to the food which is what matters more than anything. The appetizer crispy puff pastry cheese boreg was delicious. I also had probably the best french fries I've had at a restaurant. Unfortunately the buck stops here in terms of taste and quality. Salad was crisp but lacked seasoning. The hummus trio (only tried hummus) was flavorless, super bland. The rice was fluffy white good, but the meats were zero flavor to borderline awful. The lule (skewered grilled ground beef) was the worst, rubbery and non-existent of flavor. Chicken breast chunks dry and zero flavor. The shish kabob pieces were large, tough to chew and-you guessed it-zippo flavor. Cant recall tasting more bland food/meat in my life. Overpaid my dues and although an easy one and done, appreciated the service and ambience and tunes, so giving 3. But besides the boreg and fries, food is 1-2 stars at best, especially the main meats.

It is not easy to find a nice, cute little place in LA that would have it all: a substantial menu, delicious food, great drinks, kind service, ambient atmosphere, AND entertainment. All of these under one roof in a quiet corner of Canoga Park. Is this a reality? How come residents of Canoga Park got so lucky??? Live music 5 days a week. Blues or Jazz. The cover charge is so worth it, besides, musicians deserve to be paid. Sturgeon fish as a main dish is another level of dining experience. If you love and appreciate food, you will definitely find something you'll enjoy on the menu. Next time I'm trying their mushroom julienne and lamb chops. The bar doesn't serve hard liquor yet, but the bartender makes incredibly balanced and tasty cocktails anyway. It's a gift, I guess. If you feel adventurous, as I did, ask for something off the cocktail menu. My discovery was limoncello with peach and champagne, as well as some cherry drink. If I lived closer, I'd be coming here almost every night because it feels cozy and homey, not like you are in a big fancy restaurant where no one cares about you. Here, I felt really good and will be coming back for sure.

Disappointed. Fig & Olive Restaurant and Jazz Bar is such a cute restaurant, but fell short on so many aspects. Service is terrible. First, our initial waitress took awhile to introduce herself and take drink orders. By that time, we placed our dinner order and never saw her again. Our second waiter shows up to check on us and take my friend's order, as she arrived late. There was no communication, in regards to the changing of the servers/wait staff btw ...only after the fact, due to our group complained to the wait staff about service. The second server checked on us, I asked for more water and he never came back (WTH?). Tsk tsk... they need to get it together here. Place was busy with birthday parties that night, but that should be no excuse for lack of and poor service. Food was a let down. I ordered the veggie wrap with fries $10.50 - fries were undercooked and my wrap didn't have all the listed ingredients, as it was missing lettuce. Only thing good, was the live music that night (was a Sunday night) and $6 for 16oz beer. Valet parking for $7 and only 1 guy working the lot, so it'll take awhile for your car. Arrive early, as there aren't many spots available for valet. Oh well ... too bad not every Yelp restaurant adventure gets 5 shiny stars ... Stay safe and healthy (mind, body and soul) Yelping out there :)

What a great new find! Jazz at around 7pm, the food is excellent, and the service from Evangeline was perfect. Don't miss the Meat Borek. Crispy and full of flavor. Also very reasonably priced and large selection of wines to choose from. Valet service available or parking across the street for free.

Hands down one of the best places in the valley. Food is so rich and delicious, service was great, and even the host was kind and welcoming. Inside is very cozy and has the vibe of a place in WEHO or LA but with MUCH less people. It was so cozy and relaxed on a Friday night at 10 pm...definitely will be returning.

Cool photo ops all around. They had a trivia game scrolling over the bar which is always fun. Lots of lounge seating great for smaller groups to drink and chat. That being said there were some things I didn't anticipate and wasn't prepared for: -not enough accessible parking very busy for a Friday night. When I arrived at 6:45pm valet parking was already full -no AC in the venue- two ceiling fans. It was unbelievably hot inside. -seating at the tables near the stage requires dinner service and there were 10 adults seated at an 8 ft table. Just impossible. The tables were end to end. No space to move. I was seated between two men and our shoulders were touching and everyone is trying to eat dinner. I was having a panic attack so my friend got us moved. -the meal was ok and so were the drinks. We had to purchase dinner and 2 drink minimum in addition to the price of the concert ticket. I knew this when I made the purchase but had no idea what the food was going to be like. - my meal was blackened Salmon. Which was good but a very small piece of salmon. The garlic mashed potatoes were ok however my veggies weren't steamed they were too hard. The entree was $42. No salad, bread or dessert option. I think this was very pricey for what I received. Despite what bothered me above. I had a great time after we moved our seats away from the stage and got to finish our meal with some elbow room. There isn't a bad seat in the entire venue so I am not sure why they cramped all the tables like they do. The space allows for lots of walking around so you can visit with friends- which I did. The venue is accessibility friendly. The entertainment was amazing and I have to mention all the staff working that night were very accommodating. They checked on me a few times. The staff Zoe, Ryan and Marco were all so very helpful. Including Robin the sound engineer-he was friendly as well. I will return if another act I want to see is playing at The Canyon Club. Now I know what to expect and can plan accordingly.

Before my most recent show, it was a venue I looked forward to visiting. However, it had been a bit of time since I was last at the club and things have changed. Unfortunately, after the show I attended on July 31, I may not be back. Please note that this review is for the venue only, not the show itself. While there is a large parking lot, and parking is free, it was very difficult to find a space. We drove around for about 15 minutes before we were able to see someone leaving a parking space that we could grab. On the day of the concert, the temperature was 100° F outside, or possibly a bit higher. When we arrived at the venue, we found that it does not have refrigerated air conditioning - just some fans. It was uncomfortably hot inside. If I had known this would be the case, I'd have brought a portable personal fan. It's hard to believe that a venue that holds up to 1,200 people does not have legit air conditioning. For those that would like a seat, you have to purchase dinner along with your concert ticket. The dinner selections are very limited and pricey. There is no longer drink service at the tables, so you must head to the bar for drink orders. Since the tables are packed so tightly together, this is not the most convenient situation for patrons. Also, if you use a credit card for your purchases, you will be charged an extra service fee. The bartenders Gus, Zack, and Lindsay were great. They provided friendly service and were a lot of fun. I felt bad that they had to endure the uncomfortable hot working conditions while taking care of everyone. I rarely leave a one-star review. It is really a shame that the club owners don't value their guests and artists to keep the venue comfortable. For the price of tickets, food, and drinks, we really deserve a better experience.

I actually had to walk out at one point because my ears felt like they were going to explode. I know they had a sound guy there, but the place is SO small, maybe not the best venue for a punk band. Ha! The barback here was so well dressed and sweet. Bartender was quick and friendly. Cocktails and wine selections are very meh, but I had a whiskey and that worked out for me. Lots of high top tables, a decent amount of seats at the bar, and a pool table. There is also a small patio if you want to hang outside. The Maui Sugar Mill is in a strip mall, so plenty of parking available!

The service is outstanding and the neighborhood bar vibes are peak when you want to get a "locals only" experience. Some things to note: * They love their UFC here, so if you're into that def come on over. There were more screens dedicated to UFC than WC semi-finals when I visited and the packed restaurant ROARED when the UFC action was happening. * They do line dancing lessons and trivia nights and other fun entertainment here (check the schedule). * The pizza is NY-style, very legit, love the crust, and you can get a whole pie or (I love that you can get it) by the slice. * I also tried the wings. I usually go for bbq or buffalo to keep it safe but tried their tequila miso since it sounded unique. Def delicious and loved the ranch it came with. Would get it again. * They have a separate arcade room with pinball machines and TV screens tucked in the back. There are multiple tables and it's great for a private party. I'm so happy with the staff putting me back there instead of the main room bc the main room that evening was too loud for the kiddos. The back room was perfect.

I have always been a HUGE fan of Tiffany Haddish. To be frank, I am not too much into female…read morecomedians. However, she is very funny to me and love her demeanor & great sense of humor. She came to Improv not too long ago which is a lot closer to where I live and missed her show. What a bummer!:-( Well, last night we made this a reality. She had 2 shows. One was at 7pm, and the other one was at 9pm. Closed on Mondays and they open the bar/club at 6pm. We went to the 9pm show. The drive over there was pretty hectic and far. My friend offered to drive, since she has a newer car.. Well, a friend of mine and I decided to go see her live last night and we are both glad that we did! She was FANTASTIC! Can't comment about the food, because we had both eaten before we went. However, we both got drinks. I got a small Espresso Martini(made to perfection)! She got a beer and we both got 2 bottled waters and Sprite. We were sitting not too far away from the stage and the sound of the microphone and overall the system was great! No complaints. They hold many different events from comedy to concerts. You can even dance. They have a decent dance floor, and the venue itself was fairly large, with bar tables and chairs. It was somewhat crowded, but we were not bothered with that. Customer service hit the mark. Tickets were $41.00 & up. Venue was nice, clean, including restrooms and we parked outside on the street. I believe they also have their own parking. One other thing that I should mention, it gives you that old school vibe that I love. Would highly recommend this venue and I will definitely return if and when anyone that I know and like has a gig. Was our 1st time, and definitely will NOT be the last. Thank you all very much for an AWESOME ENTERTAINMENT!!!

What a fun place to catch some music in Venice! If you are looking for a small venue to catch a…read moreshow then this may be your jam! Check their online schedule to find their latest offerings as music changes! The venue also offers food and drinks. If eating good to reserve a table so you can enjoy it for the night rather than standing for the concert. The food is American like with pizza being the featured item. The food is not cheap but you are at a concert hall. The venue also offers a full bar: the cocktails were ok but nothing to rave about. I would say your focus should be to enjoy the music. I thought the performance we saw was solid and cost a mere 19 dollars. And maybe grab some drinks. Remember the venue is not large so plan to be among the crowd on the floor unless you grab a table along the wall. There are only about 4-5 tables not in VIP area and maybe three in VIP area. Book ahead as limited tables. Enjoy! Cheers!

"I am interested in how the wild beast lives in the jungle, not in the zoo."…read more -morton feldman when i was a student at calarts one of my favorite things to do was to see as much music, dance, film, and theatre that i could fit into my schedule, in addition to attending weekly art openings. it wasn't hard to do, there was always something (and there still is) going on around the campus or at the REDCAT downtown. i graduated in 2005 and at the time it was apparent that the music school was sorely in need of a dedicated performance space. they had the roy o. disney concert hall (which is tiny) and would occasionally program concerts in the main gallery or the modular theatre, but the availability and capabilities of those spaces was very limited and i'm glad to see that they now have this incredible indoor-outdoor music pavilion. it's a wonderful addition to the calarts campus and a fantastic, versatile performance venue. named in honor of morton feldman, a pioneer avant garde composer who once wrote an essay about about the illusive and expansive nature of creative energy, the wild beast resides in the taper foundation courtyard and it's quite the force to be reckoned with. the thirty two hundred square foot structure has a long rolling wall along the front that can slide aside to transform the space into an open air amphitheatre that seats over seven hundred fifty people or, when all the hatches are closed and the wall rolled shut, it can be configured into an intimate recital hall that seats up to one hundred people in addition to serving as a music classroom/studio. designed by the culver city based architectural firm hodgetts + fung, the wild beast roared into existence in the spring of 2010 and is an acoustical instrument in and of itself. all of the odd shaped curves and walls made from glass and wood coalesce into a beautifully complicated infrastructure that produces superb acoustic clarity. i've had the opportunity to attend several shows here and they've all been wonderful. with programming that stretches the gamut from balinese gamelan performances to orchestral concerts headlined by german krautrock band faust to a long distance elton john performance (this was particularly fascinating, with a grand piano set on stage wired up to mimic a piano that elton john was playing offsite), concerts are free and open to the public. it's the perfect place to take a picnic and enjoy some great music.

This was the last stop in a night where Conrad and I stepped out to LA to have a good time. So by…read morethe time I got there I was tipsy. I was not falling down the stairs, nor was I slurring my words, nor was I misaligning my pool shots, but I was definetely feeling the good inside my blood. I note this, not to highlight my cool factor as if I was a frat bro in a Florida party school, but more to describe how my experience was fogged by my consumption. This place was definetely a hot spot to hit, but I just will not be able to descrbie everything with speicifc detail, more, broad strokes of a good time. The place is reached by going down a flight of stairs, which feels like one is going to catch the J line in New York. I think I felt this more because of the Spring St sign- a famous stop in NY, NY. As soon, I got there, the goal was to continue the good time and this place allowed that at a reasonable price. They had these can drinks that I really responded and they were only 7 dollars. Ok, I know that saying something is only 7 dollars in this economy can seem out of touch. But a drink in LA most of the time will run you at least 12 to 16 dollars, and I think it is mostly on the 16 side. So finding a 7 dollar drink in a hot spot is refreshing. It was a Suncruiser- a vodka spirit based drink- that was part of their specials for their night. maybe is more expensive on other nights when it is not on special? After the drink Conrand and I stepped into their floor. It was the first time we were there and it is basically a basement game room on whatever it is that Bane takes to make himself go from puny human to muscle-on-muscle-on-muscle villain. There is a lot of pool tables maybe like 5, and I saw ping pong, and other table games. Additionally, instead of a speaker or a recorder- the one's that spin old timey records- there was a band. I took a short video of the band but I could not tell you if this band was good or bad or their name or their style of music. I was partly present, and I just heard the music, I did not appreciate the performers. It happens. So Conrad and I play all the time together. And I saw a guy playing by himself. We quickly introduced oursevles and then we played pool. Here is the thing that I am happy to write about this place. Unline a regular bar with a pool table, where every one knows your name, this place had the opportunity to meet new people. And I enjoyed playing with this guy. He was a new challenge. He had fresh stories. And he offered a view of the world I enjoyed. So this place offers the opportunity to meet new people over a game of pool. If pool is your thing than this place will make you happy an if pool is your way of meeting new folks then this place will make you happy and give you opportunities to find the folks you imagine you need in your life. In the final analysis, I want to go here again, and experience the place more broadly. Not sure if I will write a new Yelp, because even though I bared bone this one, it still gives the primary messages I want to. And to the guy who I played with thanks for having a good time with me, even if it was short. And sometimes, short, can be just enough.
