Service is great. The hostesses and our server were nice. The ambience is casual nice . It was was buzzing and vibey even on a Wednesday evening. Food wise - always on par. Really fresh sushi and fresh ingredients. Everything we ordered was great. We had a fish ripped with truffles and that was amazing with generous amount of it. Everything else were as usually good. Definitely make a reservation before going.

My family and I had such an amazing experience at Yume Sushi. We came here to celebrate our anniversary and everything from the food to the atmosphere made the night feel special. The Yume Roll melted in our mouths and had the perfect slight citrusy flavor. We also loved the Creamy Salmon Cut Roll, the Albacore Roll (slightly spicy but so delicious), and the Shrimp on Shrimp Roll. The spicy tuna crispy rice was incredible, perfectly crispy rice topped with the creamiest spicy tuna that literally melted in our mouths. The staff surprised us with ice cream for our anniversary, which was such a thoughtful touch. The servers were friendly, attentive, and made us feel very welcomed throughout the evening. The decor is beautiful with a modern, elegant vibe that's perfect for a date night, girls' night, or even a family dinner with older kids. We'll definitely be back again!

Cutest sushi dinner date spot, but very pricey! We'd never been to such a nice sushi spot but for our anniversary dinner, we wanted to splurge. Everything we got was delicious and tasted incredibly fresh. The interior is very sleek and dimly lit, and the service was excellent. Highly recommend!

If you want an upscale, focused on the details sushi experience go to Yume and make sure to sit at the sushi bar for the show. We started with the truffle edamame and the sunomono. Both were excellent and great to pick on through the night in between sushi courses. I'm not usually a sushi roll guy but their rolls are amazing. Not much rice at all that usually over powers the fish and flavors is the key. I've never seen it done so well. The citrus roll had a nice bright flavor while the cilantro roll had a nice pop of spice. The other differentiator was the cocktail program. The smoked old fashion and smoked Taru were awesome. It was nice to have cocktails with sushi instead of sake and beer. It will likely be a somewhat pricey night but well worth it because of the quality, details, and overall experience. Valet on the side of the restaurant for $7.

I had never really spent time in Calabasas before, so this restaurant made for such a good first experience there. The drinks here are phenomenal. Even the ice was special, I think it was some sort of yuzu ice ball in my passionfruit drink, and it was so good. You can tell they really pay attention to the details. The albacore with crispy onions was amazing, and the sushi itself was just really solid overall. I honestly think this place is really all about the ambience and vibe though. It's super pretty inside, pretty spacious, and they even have a really nice waiting bar area if you get there early. I'd definitely recommend making a reservation beforehand. Our server was also really sweet and helped us pick out drinks, which made the experience even better.

Very beautiful ambience and interior. Sushi was incredibly tasty, great fish to rice ratio, fresh tasting and well balanced. One of the better sushi spots in the valley for sure. Highly recommend checking this place out. My only complaint would be how much we had to flag our waiter down to get a refill of water. If we didn't ask, we wouldn't get a refill. Other than that, no other real complaints

Celebrating our daughter-in-law's birthday at her favorite sushi restaurant in Calabasas. We asked for the back room where it is a little less bustling and less noisy so conversation is easier. We started with two orders of edamame - one regular ($7) and one spicy ($9). I preferred the spicy - not too hot for a gringo palate. After that we shared a variety of rolls and specialty rolls including spicy tuna crispy roll ($18), spicy shrimp crispy rice ($19), creamy rock shrimp tempura ($18), albacore crispy onion ($30), shrimp tempura cut roll ($15), California roll ($11), and citrus roll ($24). One dish was better than the next - hard to choose which was my favorite (though next time I will pass on the California roll and the albacore crispy onion). Presentation of the dishes was also excellent (see the photos). Regina, our server, was very welcoming and friendly. Service was outstanding throughout the evening. Excellent choice for a celebration meal.

It felt like a fast casual omakase bar. Sushi-case-less freedom / nothing to hide mentality (open kitchen concept) without the Michelin price tag. Very refreshing to see something like this pop up nowadays. Service was ok , chef- customer interaction was good . Felt like the tone was set by the staff instead of the customers which is great. Look forward to see good things coming out from this company

I've been wanting to try Yume since they first opened, but then I found out I was pregnant -- and now that the baby's here, all I've been craving is sushi! We finally made it out for a date night, and I'm so glad we did. The vibe at Yume is intimate, contemporary, and romantic -- perfect for a date night. They offer three seating options: the lounge, table in their main area, and the sushi bar. We initially were offered a table in the lounge, but luckily when they texted us, a table became available in their main area. Our server was so kind and walked us through the menu, pointing out some of their most popular dishes. We started with the creamy rock shrimp tempura, truffle edamame, and sashimi salad -- all absolutely delicious and a great way to kick off the meal. For our mains, we had the cilantro roll, citrus roll, Yume roll, spicy tuna hand rolls, and a few pieces of sushi. Personally, I thought the rolls really stood out -- especially the Yume and citrus rolls, both very flavorful. The nigiri was good, but it didn't quite have that "wow" factor I've experienced elsewhere in the Valley. I'm giving Yume 4 out of 5 stars because of the nigiri and also it took some time for our items to come out even though they weren't that packed. Still, everything else was spot on and I'd definitely order the same appetizers and rolls. Next time I want to make reservation for the sushi bar and try a few other items on their menu. Friendly tip, make a reservation ahead of time! We waited about 30 minutes on a Sunday night without one.

The best in the valley, both locations are fabulous. Such fresh fish, amazing vibes and great service. Perfection

My little sister recommended this place because of the spicy shrimp on crispy rice and super cool ambiance. That dish was insane but THE CITRUS ROLL ‍ oh my god it's indescribably good. I wasn't sure how I was gonna feel about the cilantro roll, but it was also equally delicious. You can feel how fresh all the fish is after the meal is over because you don't feel sickly full. SIT AT THE SUSHI BAR. A little pricey but worth it for the quality and dining experience.

I actually showed up on a Friday afternoon just before 5 pm around 4:45 and put my name down. Around 4:55 there was easily 15-20 people outside the door who had been on the waitlist. We all fit into the first seating at 5 so no sweat there. There was even an open seat next to me that was filled by a drop in a few min after opening. The sushi- so.freaking.good. I love how generous they are with the portions and it was seriously tasty. The bluefin tuna + caviar was to die. I'm not even a sashimi person but I saw this and was like I want THAT. I had one and then immediately asked for a second one! The spicy tuna rices cakes were awesome, there was so much spicy tuna mix on it that it nearly broke my rice cake after the first bite. Then the Shibuya sea bass roll-YUM. Look at that stack on the roll. As crowded as it was, the service was excellent. My only regret is getting full. I'll be back to try the rest of the menu!

Charming place, tiny but with efficient and experienced service so everything comes out fast. Huge rolls and nigiri. Doesn't feel as expensive because of the generous cuts of fish. Everything is tasty and I end up ordering more than I should given the large portions but no complaints. Sweet shrimp is exceptional as well as their crispy rice. The stuffed squid was good but I would ask for the eel sauce on the side because the crab mix is also sweet, so the sweetness can be overpowering. I don't recommend the ikura bc of the heavy sake marinade but you may feel differently. The ikura has been the one and only item I wouldn't get again. Everything else has been fantastic. This is an entirely different experience to sugarfish. Shibuya is willing to make dishes to your taste, so if you don't want something on a particular dish or you want a special dish not on the menu, just tell your server. Everything can be customized which I really like. Sugarfish by comparison is extremely simple and utilitarian and has a factory quality to it that Shibuya is the complete opposite to. They really shouldn't be compared. If I'm low on time and didn't plan well enough, sugarfish is a reliable spot to get adequate sushi without the preplanning and waiting, but shibuya is a superior experience, imho. Happy eating!

Chef Jae is talkative and clearly enjoys speaking with guests - this all lends itself to the homey feel of the experience - but some staff were so soft-spoken it was difficult to hear them as they introduced our sake pairings, and sometimes the service seemed poorly timed with the courses. I think with a little rehearsal of how they want to approach dinner service (mainly timing, introduction and flow) would provide some more confidence and better execution of the experience they clearly wished to impart. The food was fantastic, and truly felt like a journey. Everything is prepared in house, and of the best quality. My husband and I are sure to be thinking about our experience here for a long time, and will be recommending others to come check it out. Note: If an omakase experience is not in your budget, they also offer ala carte items.
