LOVE this place! I've been to noon-o-kebab which is right across the street and I love that place. Kabobi is basically the same thing (just as good) but much more casual. There was no air conditioning inside the restaurant when I went and for that i'd take a star away and the table was dirty. As far as food goes, delicious! The best Persian food in town. As I'm sure everyone already knows enormous portion sizes. The beef Chengeh and Beef Koubideh are always tender and juicy. Cooked to perfection. My husband and I always order one of each, I like the plain white rice and hubby prefers their dill rice. The rice is a whole ' other story. It is so perfect and fluffy you can literally "fork" the rice. Have been here a dozen or so times and have yet to not enjoy their dinner. The vegetarian sampler is fresh with great portions. The Baba Gannouj is one of my favs. Husband loves their hummus, the dolma are your average cold dolmas. Really like the cilantro and garlic yogurt. They have bomiyeh which we always take to go. I order delivery from this place at least once a month. Their food is so fresh and so delicious. I always get dill rice with my entrees. As for entrees, I often get lamb koobideh, and then kabobs. Do pay extra for a filet mignon kabob - amazing! Love the free humus I get if I order more than $20, which I always do. Chicken lentil soup and baklava are also delicious. The food is ok (nothing spectacular), but the service sucks. I've been going there since they opened, and they have screwed up my order EVERY SINGLE TIME. How is that even possible unless they're trying. When confronted, they act like it's my fault. So many times, they "forgot" to include the pita bread that comes with their platters. Other times, they forget the garnishments, and yet other times, they shortchange on the rice they give with their platters. Also, they are also just like Chinese restaurants in that they charge for every little thing. I'm surprised they're not charging for air we breath while at their restaurant. So, in conclusion, food is OK. But add to it their horrible service, lack of friendly staff who take orders, and cheapness, and you can definitely have a better dining experience elsewhere. Heck, anywhere else would be better. This place sucks. read more

We came here for lunch and were pleasantly surprised they have quite a few choices for lunch specials. The restaurant has plenty of room so bring a crowd or just bring yourself. The portions are huge, I spied most people taking a doggy bag after their meal. If you like Persian food, the fluffy dill rice, buttery humus and the juicy koobideh and the kebabs, this is the place for you. Service is also friendly and fast. Noon O's quality has been sliding since they start expanding, and Kabobi is here to reap the benefits I guess. with a really great char over their kabobs, delicious dill rice and ridiculously huge portions (seriously.. they serve the food on tradition persian steel trays instead of your usual plates), kabobi has this down like an art form. The best part is every entree is served over fresh lavaash bread which soaks up the juices from the meat and lets you scoop up all the goodness by hand. Great tea, great food, great ambiance.. the kind of place where you're bound to run into a cousin 5 times removed or a friend you only see at nowruz but still... you'll run into people you know because everyone's getting in on this action. read more

This place is fantastic, the portions are huge and you should probably be advised to share a platter or be prepared to take home the left overs for another meal (I got two out of mine). I absolutely love their kashkeh and their hummus and pita is on point. The only thing I was down on was the falafel as the ratio to crispy exterior to soft interior favored the former over the latter. No sweat though, more room for those delicious dips. Whenever I go there, I have to have their chicken koubideh and chicken breast kabob combo platter. If you prefer chicken, definitely give that a go. So far I've been twice and really like this new addition to Albany Park's Kedzie Corridor. The build out of the restaurant is quite inviting, especially for a summer day. It's really nice to sit there with the windows fully open and enjoy the breeze. I found the food very good and fresh. The portions were very good for the price. Definitely affordable and you get a lot for what you pay for. My only gripe is they don't serve enough pita bread with their dippable foods. The first time I went I ordered the vegetarian combo which had hummus and baba ganoush. It only came with one pita bread. The second time I ordered just baba ganoush and kashka badmajn for carry out. They only gave two pieces of pita bread with the order, and the order was to be shared among four people. I will be back, but next time I will be more vocal about ordering extra pita bread. read more
