More food than I could eat in two sittings and the quality was outstanding! My wife ordered the veggie dinner and a spicy tuna roll. The sushi was great too! The atmosphere entertained my three year old daughter long enough for us to eat as much as we could! I'm looking forward to the left-overs for a midnight snack tonight! Yelpers! GO HERE! This place is our favorite place to eat when we go through Amarillo on our vacation. The food is amazing! They have a benihana type grill ,sushi bar or table service what ever you prefer. We always select table since some of us eat sushi and some don't. We are from California and know good sushi . Their sushi is the bomb! My daughter ordered the tipan steak with fried rice and vegies. Everything was fantastic! Yes it may be a long wait at the tables or other areas but food is ment to be enjoyed and relaxed environment. If you want fast food this is not the place. Kabuki sushi is fresh, and always pleasing. The sushi chefs are great and are accommodating to anything you ask for. The owner of this restaurant is always walking around making sure you are 100% satisfied, and that's incredible. Always a pleasure to eat at Kabuki and sit at the sushi bar. read more

This restaurant is horrible will never go again. Asked sever for butter multiple times. Man said he did not have time too get us butter he was very very rude told us we all had a bad attitude was very insulted when we asked for sauce with our rice. His rice has absolutely no taste therefore we needed sauce to drown out his horrible rice. He told my husband if he asked for butter one more time he's gonna refuse too cook for us packed up his things and left us with only rice while food was still on grill so me and my family got up and walked towards the door. If he's gonna walk on us we're gonna walk on him. Then he started screaming "LOCK THE DOOR" and manger came out and said what's the problem. We kept walking and left. WE WILL NEVER EVER BE BACK. This is a surprise for Amarillo. I did not expect this level of Japanese restaurant here .At Rico's suggestion I had a Bento box with grilled salmon cheeks with seaweed salad, squid salad and a lettuce salad with rice and miso soup. It was delicious and I was very pleased. I have never had sake at three dollars which was the happy hour price! Kabuki was one of the most entertaining dinners I've been to in a long time! The cooks put on a great show and the servers were just awesome! The design of the restaurant is super neat too. You're literally having dinner on a boat. Occasionally there is a waterfall that happens in the middle of the restaurant. The food was cooked perfectly! read more

Terrible customer service. My husband was fond of their chicken fried rice, so we were eating there between 1-3 times a week for months. One day, our ticket was $20 more than usual (for 2 people) even though we ordered the same thing as always, two chicken specials, and we were told that it was charged to us correctly. We tried to take it up with management because it's not like it was our first time there and we are well aware of how much we had been paying. We were told that we were incorrect and basically to shove off. That was the last time we will ever eat there. I'd recommend taking your money to Tokyo on Bell. It's more affordable and twice as much food. read more

More than that, 4,5 tables are visibly empty right in front me, taunting me. I totally get when a restaurant is busy and there's a wait time, but at least be honest and communicate how long the wait is so I can make an educated decision based on how hangry I am. Instead, I got the "next 10 minutes or so" couple of times. It's a shame that the food here is actually decent. read more

Used to be a lot better. The Filet Mignon and extra fried rice. The stake was NOT a filet. It was full of fat and hard non-chewable meat, so much, that the cook couldn't cut it and he placed chunk of it on my plate with nothing to cut it with. Then the flavor was like a greasy roast. The vegetables were under cooked, and we received about the same amount of fried rice as the others at the table. Drink came out slow, but they were busy which might explain the under cooked vegetables as well. But when you pay $31.60 per plate, it should be perfect every time. So i was really excited to go here for my anniversary since both my wife and I love Japanese food. So we got there about 10 minutes after it opened and there were already about 4-5 families waiting to be seated. Hostess said it would be about 30-45 minutes to get seated. Thats only because we HAD to sit at the grill. We actually went there to sit at a regular table but they didn't have a waitress to work the tables. Anyway, i took the pager and waited almost an hour before i went back inside to check on the wait time. Apparently, they had forgotten about me even though i had the pager and was literally standing in front of her when she grabbed other people to take the seats we were waiting for. After i asked whats the wait time, she says she thought we had left. Thanks for wasting an hour of my family's time lady. I get they have a low amount of workers but to forget the customers even exists. Well cant even rate the food since we didnt even get to eat there. Good luck if you give this place a try. My colleague JR got to choose the restaurants on this trip to Amarillo, and he was damned and determined to try Kabuki. Can you say indoor rain storm, moat, and crazy cool waterfall installation behind the bar? Definitely gets some points for unexpected decor and the lightening rain storm. The food, however, was just alright. I got the chicken hibachi and it was cooked well, but the sauce that came with it was odd, and the chef looked like he would rather be somewhere else. Place is getting progressively worse with each visit. Money is NOT being spent on upkeep and repairs. Sushi looked and tasted like it was amateur night at the sushi bar. Ordered lobster (2 lobster tails) - got 1 medium lobster tail at best. Never turned on inside "rain" feature which our son loves and was only reason we came. *I would not give this establishment ANY stars if I had the option* My family and I called in our order and upon arrival, with no one else in line, we had to wait in the drive through for a lengthy time. During that wait, we inquired about getting some tea and were advised that other than alcoholic drinks, they had no drinks available. When we got home and opened our plates, none of the food was warm or tasty and it was not worth the (over) $50 we were charged. On top of my rice I discovered a piece of what looked to be either lint or part of a washcloth that had fallen into the food. We returned to the establishment for a refund and were denied because, "it was over an hour". It was explained that we live nearly twenty (20) minutes away and that we had immediately returned. Yet, no refund was given, even after speaking with the manager. I will NOT visit this establishment again and I WILL encourage my family and friends to avoid them, too. read more

This place takes the cake for worst dining experience. The staff at the front had no clue what the estimated wait time was, just handed us a buzzer. So we went to the bar to have a drink. The bartender, sweet and cute as she was, had no clue what she was doing and had to look up directions for every mixed drink ordered. The water feature behind the bar and the bar area itself looked old and dirty. After we thought we might have been forgotten about (there were whole tables open) we finally got buzzed. Unfortunately, we chose to sit at the grill. I say unfortunately because unlike most japanese style steakhouses, this place did not turn off the grill tops or have vent fans above the grills. So, my ice water turned to warm water and my face felt so hot, I had to get up and take a walk. I had time to do so because out of the dozen plus grills they have, there were only four cooks. I started feeling so bad that I was feeling faint, from the combination of an empty stomach and the drink I had at the bar plus the extreme heat, we requested a regular table away from the grill. We were moved to a table near the bar, where people where clustered everywhere waiting for tables. A guy with a beer was literally leaning on one of our chars and another guy kept coughing and we thought he was going to throw up right next to our table. Wait staff and customers at the bar were bumping into each other behind our chairs. After we moved (after about 45 mins sitting at the grill, everyone just looking around awkwardly with no food) one of the grill cooks finally showed up. So they still just cooked our food at the grill and put it on our plates, then brought it to us...cold. I spoke to the manager about our disappointment with our dining experience overall. Her answer was basically sorry we suck, here are some 5.00 coupons for next time. She took my name and number to give to the owner, who I doubt will call. Thanks for the useless coupons, I won't be using them. :( read more

Yes I love the food here but when we walked in the hostess was very unfriendly. She just asked how many and just handed us a buzzer, no wait time was given. She acted like she didn't want to be here, no smile or anything. If you want to work in customer service at least smile or something. There are so many people waiting for the grill, which only extends the wait time. Staff looked bored. One of the girls said "Have a good day" without even looking at the people who were leaving.
