NEVER again will I bring my dog here. The lack of communication is pathetic. They do not answer emails, never answered my VM to confirm the boarding booking that I made. I finally texted after waiting a day for a return call. The excuse was that she was having phone difficulties!!! Don't believe that one! When I did call, after leaving 2 emails, Laura answered. She told me that my dog did not need to come for an evaluation which I thought was odd as most boarding facilities require that to make sure your dog gets along with others. Was told that she would contact me a few days before hand and never did, that's when I started calling, and texting. Upon arrival as a first time customer their was no direction as to how to even enter the facility. So here I am in the drive way texting again to let them know I'm here. A young girl came out, barely spoke to me, told her it was my first time and could I see where he will be sleeping. She had to go ask! Another person comes out and lets me in. He shows me the crates and I was so disappointed. Crates lined up along a dark filthy room. Smelled, dirty, dog hair everywhere! I should of left but I was in a bind as we were leaving first thing in the am and I had no backup! A week later I picked him up and again texting to let them know I was there. My dog came home filthy, smelled and half of his food was still in his container which obviously was left outside as it was covered in dirt. Your website and other reviews say that you send pictures throughout their visit, I received nothing! I also feel that as a first time customer that the owner would at least greet me at some point. A L Animal Care is dedicated to making certain your furry loved one is well cared for and happy. I rarely left my Basset Hound until I happened upon A.L. RON goes for day playtime with other dogs his size and he just finished a nine-day overnight stay, when I had to leave town. Laura sent photos during his stay and kept me updated as to his activities, which involved a lot of "nose to the land walking the perimeters of the property." I could leave town knowing he was well cared for and loved. (Plus I do believe RON has more fun there than at home!) They also are excellent for grooming. He comes back smelling clean and fresh, with a darling cloth star adhered to his collar. Honestly, I love A L Animal care and HIGHLY recommend it! read more

My fiancé and I brought our French bulldog puppy, Nahla, to potentially stay for the day for day care. When we walked in, Laura did not acknowledge our pet, instead she was talking to my fiancé about his broken leg for ten minutes. Nahla started eating a piece of wood, and Laura said, it's okay, you can let her, puppies have stronger digestive systems than regular dogs do.... We waited for a bit longer for one of the "classes" to be over, but she did not spend time with Nahla at all. Once it was 9:30am we headed to the back, where apparently our dog would be staying the whole time. We walk in and there are about 5-6 other big dogs. Nahla does not do well with 5 big dogs chasing after her. I could tell she was a bit scared so we told Laura we were probably going to take her home. I said, I think the dogs are just too big for her. Laura replies, too big for you, you mean? She said it twice actually. I ignored it, but was thinking to myself, the audacity of this woman. Oh and by the way, dogs were bathing and peeing in the water my dog was supposed to be drinking for the day. It was 88 degrees today and the heat is tough for Frenchies. We begin to walk out and Laura follows us, asking me if I usually walk away from things that are uncomfortable or "make me nervous". I'm like, listen lady, I am taking my dog home and that's the end of it. If you care at all about your pet, I wouldn't bring them here. read more

Her her shop is on a little ranch like property and the dogs get to roam free at your discretion. My dogs had a blast! Grooming was great! My dogs had the worst experience in their lives. I left 3 standard poodles and my old Bichon with for 3 nights. When we went to pick them up we were horrified. They were all covered in shit and the smell was so bad we rode with the car windows open. We immediately bath all 4 of them and they still smelled. The were also extremely hungry. Most of their food was handed back to us. Oh and Laura left on Saturday to take horses to Utah and left my dogs with her son. I believe he crated them and never let them out or bothered to feed them. Please don't ever use this place if you care for your pets. PS: when they opened the dogs to the house the smell was overwhelming of shit. read more

Last night I called 6 places to find a cat groomer but everyone only grooms dogs not cats! Finally after calling around I found this place in Poway and Laura said she would groom my cat Maeve so we had an appointment scheduled the next morning. I took my baby in this morning and I was greeted outside the entrance and felt really welcome. When Maeve was almost done I got a text so I headed over and she was waiting for me!! my kitty's fur was sooo soft, my entire car smelled so good from the smell of my cat, and she seemed like she enjoyed the whole experience because she was calm on the car ride home. Couldn't have asked for a better experience! Took our 3 rescues here when we went on a week long family vacation. 3 yr old lab pit mix/3 yr old shepard mix/6 month old very shy puppy. They were well exercised, Laura even matched them with dogs they could play well with. This was especially important to help bring our shy puppy out of his shell. The dogs obviously adored Laura and Allan. Laura even took the time to go get more of their dog food from the store when we miscalculated how much they would need for the whole week. No lame extra fees for bringing your own food, treats, or play time. It was apparent they had taken the time to get to know each one of our dogs and they even sent us photos of our dogs while we were away!
