    2. Sashimi and Sirloin Steak Teriyaki Dinner
    Darlene M.

Food was good, but portion sizes are small for the price. I had the bento box for lunch. I chose teriyaki beef and sashimi. It came with three pieces of sashimi, a salad, rice and teriyaki beef. The teriyaki was good, though nothing over the top. Service was satisfactory, and so was the ambiance. Dining area is small with a few cluttered spaces that they use for storage.

First time dining with family for dinner. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We had a good time and were comfortable. It felt we were at someone's home eating home cooked meal.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere was relaxed and quiet like a mom and pop. Very local feel.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] So if you are looking for a fancy or upbeat sushi restaurant, this is not for you. Portion size was good. We were filled up and had some left to-go. Home-cooked flavors. Fish was fresh. We ordered tempura, lion king, pork katsu, sushi steak, French kiss, sake nigiri, thai tea. Service met our needs.. We were there until closing and the lady even offered to take our pictures in the middle of cleaning up and told us not to feel rushed to leave. There was no small talk or over the top trying to please. They were attentive, straightforward, efficient, and authentic So if you are very particular and like to be pampered when you are dining, this is not for you. We will be coming back.

A decent spot to grab some bento dinners. I don't think their rolls are the best out there, but the bento boxes are decent tasting. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a casual place for a quick lunch/dinner.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Heads up that if you pay with cash it's 5% off the bill.

Tried this out for the first time while me and my friends were out over here and it was really good! [[HIGHLIGHT]]It has a homey atmosphere and the lady serving us was really nice.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The steak teriyaki was def my fav!!

I went to Kaigan Sushi as I was in the mood for a Dragon Roll and it was close by. It's a cute little restaurant, the staff and chefs were very nice. The Dragon Roll was flavorful. What I noticed however was that the avocado was over ripe, it was brown. That was my only issue. I wasn't very hungry, so I didn't order anything else. Overall, the service was good and I would consider going back to get a full experience.

We tried the salmon tempura roll, mango roll, spider roll, unagi roll, a kids sushi combo, takoyaki, and a few other rolls and a couple of items on their specials menu. Besides the takoyaki, everything else was a bit disappointing. The soft shell crab didn't really have a taste other than the batter, and the mango tasted really artificial. I'm not sure what was going on there, but no one liked that roll. Even my son, who absolutely loves mango and sushi, didn't like it. My youngest son barely touched his sushi combo. The unagi roll was good, but really tiny and not too much unagi in it. I'm not sure if it was an off day, because it was one of my mom's favorite places. But even she was disappointed and said she probably won't be back. One thing I did appreciate though was how they have modified chopsticks for kids! That was a nice touch. Service was okay.

This created a whole scene that other customers eating there got involved making it look like I was the bad person. He ended up just telling me that it was on them. Which all could've been avoided IF he had listened to my solution. I don't care about the 'free' meal at this point. It was so embarrassing! Word of advice, if you're ringing up a check, make sure you ring up the correct bill! Other than that, the food was good. One of the best Hawaiian food in the area. I do recommend the Aloha plate. It's just very unfortunate that one mistake caused me to never want to come back.
