Never been disappointed with Benicia Poke, and it's been a local favorite for a few years now! Any time I crave poke I try something new on the menu. Everything and anything is good here. Best for takeout since it is a small hole in the wall kind of joint. Nevertheless, the order is always fresh with delicious, quality ingredients. The service is quick and concise with easy ordering online. What's not to love?

Stopped by here after a long day at work and it was just what i needed! Super fresh, delicious, and good customer service! I will definitely come back!

Best poke in the Bay! Service is excellent too! But Only 2 small tables to sit down and eat.

Build your own with spicy scallops, tuna, and spicy tuna. Get the matcha sparkling drink. It's lovely.

Fresh ingredients (both protein and veg), friendly staff, quick service and so many options when it comes to build your own bowl. I highly recommend getting the regular build your own bowl with half brown rice and half salad. The bowl comes with 2 scoops of protein of your choice and quite a selection of veggies you can add to your bowl. They have suggested bowls that lists what's in it too if you aren't sure what you want you can give that a try. The wasabi cream and spicy mayo is a good combo to sauce up your bowl.

Yummy! Fresh Fish. Great customer service. The only thing I wish is that they gave a little more protein for the price. I will be back.

Tasty poke! I paid 21.77 for a regular (two protein) bowl. It was delicious as everything looked and tasted fresh. The rice was perfectly cooked, the fish melts in your mouth, and all the veggies were nice and crisp. The service was great, the employees all greeted me when I entered. The employee who helped me was super nice and patient as I thought about what to get. The place itself is on the small side, so there really is not a place to sit and eat inside. However, I opted to go to the park and eat, which was a nice and short walk. Overall, would come again when craving poke!

Found this amazing place through Yelp as I was searching for places to eat in Benicia. Took me a while to go since we are only in this area whenever we have an eye appointment. A couple weeks ago, I finally got the chance to pass by and try them out. Parking is a bit tight but I was fortunate enough to get a space just right in front of them. Place is cute and cozy! Very clean, well organized and owners are very friendly and welcoming! I got some help choosing a couple bowls to take home and share with my daughter. We got the Classic Hawaiian and the California bowls. My favorite was the California with additional fresh salmon cubes! The other one we got was pretty good too! I cannot wait to visit them again! I'm very much drooling just thinking about it while I type this review! lol Wishing this establishment tons of success!

Tuna, scallops, crab and seaweed salad, pineapple, corn, pickled radish and many more items. Very tasty.

It has been a long time since coming here. Decided to stop by again. Greeted upon arrival. The process was patiently explained to me. Started making my choices and asking for suggestions along the way. The end result with tuna and scallops, crab salad and many more add-ons was delicious. Everything was fresh and tasty. You will enjoy their food.

Stopped by this place on the way up towards Sacramento. It seems to be a local favorite. The quality was great. The main draw of this place is the up-charge for a lot of ingredients that are particularly popular among most all poke places to be included in the price of a bowl. I also felt like despite me choosing 3 sauces, I could really only taste one of them. The staff was friendly though and this is a good grab and go place since they don't have any sort of seating. I'd return again in the future to give it another try.

I kept seeing Sienna post this on her IG and have been wanting to try it! Coincidentally, I was getting my hair cut and colored a couple weeks ago around the area and even my hairstylist recommended my brother and I give it a try, so right after our appointments, we went straight there. We were immediately greeted by the nicest workers with such warm smiles and they were willing to answer questions if we had any. The place is decorated so cute and although it's small, the place feels so homey. I built my own poke bowl with tuna and salmon (all time faves) and my brother got the same but added spicy scallops as well. The portions were pretty big and they absolutely do not skimp on their toppings as well. When I got home, I was so excited to try the bowl and when I did, it hit me beyond my expectations. The poke melted in my mouth and the toppings complemented the fish so well. Ever since I went, i've been dreaming of this poke bowl and have been wanting to go back. My mouth is salivating just wanting another one! I 100/10 recommend this place to anyone that loves poke or has been wanting to go out of their comfort zone to try something new! I promise you will not be disappointed!

I've been searching for poke in the area and so glad I stumbled upon this place. I love that there are multiple bowl size options. The ingredients tasted super fresh and there is a large variety of protein, toppings and mix ins. They even had real crab salad. I'll have to try that next time. The staff was friendly and it's very clean and cute on the inside.

    Limu, spicy tuna, tako

Wow! I am so happy that a friend recommended this place to me and also so sad that it this long to know a good poke spot was so close to us all along.. It's a small place (no tables indoors and a round table outside with two seats), but it is super clean, the staff are SO FRIENDLY, the fish is fresh and the poke is legit. I made my own bowl with limu poke, spicy tuna and tako and it was delicious. Their limu poke was my favorite. The portions are big and they put a lot of care and thought into creating the perfect bites for you. The lady who took care of us had amazing hospitality and service and really crafted our bowls for a great experience! And it's not even a sit down restaurant. Everything was distributed nicely (you know how sometimes you order a burrito and the top half is rice and the bottom half is beans and meat only in some places because of the way it was made/wrapped? this was the complete opposite!) the sauces were great and full of flavor. The only hiccup was my husband asked for cucumber in his bowl, but got carrot instead--didn't notice til we got home, but was not a big deal at all. 10000% coming back to this gem of a poke spot and would definitely recommend.

    House Bowl

Love that there is a poke place more local to me so I don't have to travel too far to satisfy my poke cravings. This poke joint sits near downtown Benicia, across the street from the library. The inside has a modern, sleek vibe, and the ambience is mellow and cozy. I debated whether to make my own bowl or try a preset bowl, but I ultimately chose the latter and went for the House Bowl. The poke bowl was really good, though I wish the portion was bigger for the price. The bowl looks big, but the bottom is shallower than other poke places I've been to. I also wish there was a bit more sauce, so next time I'll probably try making my own bowl so I can customize it more to my liking. Service was quick and smooth, so no problems there. No dine-in, but there is a park nearby with picnic seating if you'd like to enjoy your poke bowl on a nice day.

Neither of us…read moreknew much about restaurants in the area, but we "Yelped" a bit, and Pearl Thai caught our eye. Very glad it did! We were greeted by a gentleman with a fun sense of humor - can't really explain it, but he made us smile. The place is small, but very welcoming. We were shown to a window booth, where we chatted a bit before we looked at the menu. The server came to take our order and we had barely even looked. She told us to take all the time we needed. Eventually, we made our decisions. My friend got one of the lunch combos - a chicken curry (she chose red curry, you can also choose green or yellow), and I don't remember what the other combo item was. But everything looked delightful on her plate! On our way into the restaurant, I spotted a sign with a lunch special on it - crispy chicken kao soi, a noodle dish, and it looked good, so that's what I requested. It was quite yummy! The best part was the deeply flavored sauce that the noodles were nestled into - I could put it in a cup and drink it, it was soooo good, lots of savory fish sauce and just enough spice to keep it interesting. Besides the noodles actually in the sauce, there were crispy fried noodles on top as well, adding a nice texture variety. The picture doesn't really do it justice. I was hungry and dove in before I remembered to take the photo, oops. The chicken was breaded and laid on top of the noodles in thin slices, very nice and crunchy. We had Thai hot tea with our lunch - not the sweet kind, but the nice clean-flavored hot tea. It went perfectly with our dishes. I don't know exactly when either of us will get back to Benicia again, but if and when we do, I hope we can stop by Pearl Thai again!

*** Vegetarian Review ***…read more None of their dishes have fish sauce so you don't get knocked over the head with the smell when you walk in. They remind me every time I order, but as a vegetarian, we've all had that fish smell delivered to us at a Thai restaurant at least once (probably twice, more likely three times) in our eating lifetimes. It is such a relief to not have to worry about that here. Would I Come Back? Yes, when I'm in town, I make it a point to come here. Did I mention they don't use fish sauce!? Parking is is incredibly easy so that's never an issue. It's a shared parking lot with many stores and other restaurants. I typically go on a Sunday for lunch, and even with a party of 5, I haven't had to wait for a table. Seating capacity is probably 45-50 guests so if you're planning a large party, definitely best to call ahead and make a reservation. The Food: Roti & Yellow Curry ($14, Grade A+): Fried roti with a yellow curry dipping sauce. It's a super savory dish, and honestly, I should have had you at "fried." If you're wondering what roti is, think of it as a buttery, flaky, pan-fried flatbread. It's large enough appetizer to share with 3 people, but you're pushing your luck with 4. Pad Thai with Fried Tofu ($16, Grade A): I've had this dish 5 times now. To be completely transparent, it's the exact reason why I can't give Pearl Thai a full 5-star rating, purely because of consistency. The first time I got it, it was perfect. The second and third times, it had no sauce and was dry. The fourth time, I asked them to make it saucy, and they obliged to an almost soupy level. For this fifth time, I just ordered it straight up and zipped my lip on any alterations. As they say, the fifth time was a charm! When it's made with the perfect amount of sauce, this dish is excellent. The noodles have that exact texture you look for in a pad thai, and the egg gets that great scorch from the wok for an added layer of flavor. Also, the tofu has been incredibly fresh every single time. It never tastes slightly spoiled, which happens a lot in smaller towns that don't heavily support plant-based diets where tofu just sits in a fridge eagerly awaiting someone to order it. Mixed Vegetables ($14, Grade A): Sautéed wood ear mushrooms and mixed vegetables in a garlic soy sauce. If you've ever had Pad Pak, you already know this flavor profile. I really enjoyed it, but next time I'll ask for no carrots and maybe half the garlic. Overall, it's a perfect dish that absolutely requires steamed rice to soak up all that great flavor. Sweet Sticky Rice with Mango ($8, Grade A): The classic dessert we see at all Thai restaurants, but they serve it with purple sticky rice, making it a visually yummy dish. It's plenty of food to share between two people. Bottom Line: The service here is great and very friendly. It's a small, local shop with "Best in Town" awards highlighted on the walls. The environment is clean, and the food is served hot and arrives at the table quick. One Last Word: Don't leave here without ordering the roti with yellow curry for an appetizer. Pure savory goodness!

I ordered the tomato prawns with linguine and toasted French bread. My partner had the prawn cocktail with a side garden salad. We also ordered iced tea, which turned out to be Brisk literally Brisk, not fresh brewed tea. For a waterfront restaurant overlooking the Carquinez Bridge, with entrées running around $29, I expected a little more attention to quality. My linguine tasted like what I can only describe as an upscale cafeteria meal. The tomato sauce had a noticeable heat to it that I don't remember seeing described on the menu, and the overall flavor lacked depth. I ended up needing plenty of lemon, Parmesan cheese, and butter just to bring some life into the dish. The prawn cocktail was extremely spicy and also missed the mark. Between both meals, the food simply lacked luster. There was also an odd metallic aftertaste that made me wonder whether some of the food had been sitting or prepared in industrial metal pans. I can't say for certain what caused it, but it was noticeable enough to affect the experience. The bright spots were the strawberry lemonade and the warm bread, both of which I actually enjoyed. What disappointed me most was that the restaurant wasn't particularly busy on this Saturday afternoon, so I expected the kitchen to have a little more room to put care into the plates. Instead, the food felt like it lacked love, effort, and the kind of detail that makes you feel good about spending nearly $30 per entrée. Sailor Jack's has one of those settings that should make the meal memorable. Unfortunately, this time the view carried the experience more than the food did. Would I return? Maybe but probably just to try a burger, enjoy the scenery, and keep my expectations much lower. Overall: beautiful location, underwhelming food, and definitely a meal that lacked luster.

The BBQ chicken was the star of the plate, juicy, flavorful, and finished with a beautifully caramelized glaze that delivered just the right balance of sweetness and char. The macaroni salad was fresh and creamy, though not quite as sweet as I've enjoyed at other L&L locations, which is simply my personal preference. Most guests would probably never notice the difference. I also appreciated the finely shredded cabbage, which added a crisp, fresh contrast to the richness of the meal, different from other locations where it is steamed leafs.
