Undercooked Pad See Ew with boring gray beef.

Decor, lovely. Service, friendly. Tom kha gai soup: outstanding! But the pad see ew was undercooked with no char on it, unfortunately! I would return just for the tom kha gai.

Had lunch today and really enjoyed the Pad see ew beef. The staff were very attentive and kept checking on me which I appreciated. Filled my water glass without needing to ask. The water glasses had a slice of lemon, and tasted great. They have some very gorgeous chandeliers, which makes it feel elegant dinning.

Excellent service and conversation from the owner and staff. I've been here on many occasions and they never disappoint. The food is excellent and they recently got new chandelier. Cleverly clean as well. I got the Prawn and scallops over rice and my mom got the seafood stir fry's I think I may have the names wrong.

Came here with my family for a post Christmas celebration. Food was amazing! There were so many selection from the menu. I wish I took all the photos of the food presentation. The service from Pom was great. She attended to us every minute. Our water and jasmine tea was constantly topped off. They also didn't rush us. We made a a reservation and it was good we did. The place is not that big and gets busy immediately as it opens. Ambiance was perfect. The decor was beautiful and my family enjoyed our luncheon experience. This was my only second time here and I will definitely be back again. Please visit this hidden gem. Ample parking outside since it's in a mall. Also the price is very reasonable. Do note that gratuity is added for party of 6 or more.

Pearl Thai Cuisine is a small restaurant, but it definitely hits the spot when it comes to Thai food. Customer service was excellent, and the food prices were reasonable. It was my first time trying Tom Kha, and it completely changed me. I've been ordering Tom Kha ever since my visit here, but out of all the ones I've tried, Pearl Thai Cuisine's has been the best. It is incredibly flavorful and warm--perfect for rainy weather. Their Pad Thai was probably my second favorite. The sauce was very creamy, and the crushed peanuts and bean sprouts added so much depth to the texture. The pineapple fried rice and grilled beef short ribs were also delicious. I especially enjoyed the marinade they used for the short ribs. This place is somewhat of a hidden gem--I'll definitely be visiting again!

    "Green" curry from Pearl Thai

I have ordered from them for years but this will be the last time. I was bamboozled. The portion size has been cut and they had the audacity to say it hadn't. The picture is my proof! For scale, the small size spice to show the $19 worth of soup I got! Green curry and it is not even green. Very disappointed.

Been eyeing Pearl Thai Cuisine and finally got to try it for the first time. The restaurant looked clean and decor was festive, but surprisingly empty around dinner time. After my experience, I can see why. While the food menu options are endless, the prices are high for the quality of food. The cost for a beef salad (which was under cooked and looked grey), small plate of calamari, and chicken pad thai was $70. I don't feel the food was worth the cost but that's just me. A couple of folks trickled in for takeout orders so maybe it's not too bad. I've tried many Thai restaurants bc i love Thai cuisine, but this place just didn't do it for me.

pad see ew was delicious 10/10. the egg roll appetizers were also very yummy. the drinks were very delicious, and the rose straws were a nice touch. staff was really nice and we got seated quickly :) would definitely come here again

We called in our order before arriving, and I'll admit--it was the easiest table experience ever. Our food was brought out once, and that was the full extent of the service. The food itself was decent, but the portions were surprisingly small--about half the size of what we're used to at other Thai places--and prices were roughly 30% higher. What really surprised us was the automatic 20% gratuity added to the bill. We were two adults and three kids (ages 6-11), and when I asked about it, they said it's their policy for parties of five or more. For a meal where no additional service was provided, that felt excessive. It might work for some, but between the pricing, portion size, and added gratuity, we won't be back.

Was craving Thai on my way home so I stopped by here.. food was hot & fresh to order. I tried their pad ke mow/drunken noodle with shrimp & beef & it was (for me) a 7.5/10 but their Thai green tea drink?! BEST one I've had in the Bay Area thus far. Service was attentive and friendly. I loved that the chefs in the back waved hello when I picked up my food. Ambiance is cute! I love chandeliers. I'd come back if I was local.. esp for that Thai green tea. As we say in the bay- it was hella bussin'!

I just wanted to really give a shout out to Pearl Thai. Most Benicians know but in terms of service, Pearl Thai has the best in town. Hands down. I still believe this place has some of the best Thai food in the area. That also is probably pretty well known. But the main reason I wanted to do another review is because I always can appreciate when customer service has gone beyond 110%. I came here on a whim last week to eat dinner despite them closing in about 30 mins of our arrival. And you know what? They still allowed us to sit down and eat. While some might not be impressed by this one kind gesture, it means a lot when I've been turned away by another restaurant in town with the same exact situation. Me and my party had actually got there around 45 mins within closing and were advised they were only doing take out only. I was a little bummed but it just meant I got to go up the street to eat some other bomb food in town. My neighbors who had came with us though were pretty irritated that a restaurant would turn us away with sufficient time to serve us but hey. What can you do? That's their rules. Makes me think of those signs that say, "We reserve the right to refuse service." But getting back on track, when we sat down at Pearl Thai that day, it made me think of that night we got turned down. It's so nice to have a restaurant like Pearl Thai that treats anyone who comes through their doors like family. When you leave they usually say, "See ya tomorrow!" Heck, maybe they WILL see me again tomorrow for some more food...

Havent been here in years...but the food taste even better than I remember it. Sunday afternoon... first people in for dinner after 4pm...our group was waiting around eagerly for some yummy Thai. I was craving calamari and thai iced tea...made it so quicly. Omg ...I dont know what batter mixture they had, but it almost tasted like the best fried chicken I've ever had in life... I need that recipe in my world frfr!! Our waitress recommended the matcha thai iced tea...it was so refreshingly good. With orders of druken noodles, house fried rice with strips of fried chicken, and panang curry. Job well done! The inside seating and decor was very inviting and comfortable along with the soothing musical background. This is definetly one of my top fav thai restaurants and I will be making another trip soon. Ciao for now.....

This time around we decided a 6 page booklet with desserts, entrees, appetizers, etc. went for lunch and had a couple items on their seperate chef's specialties and lunch menu. We are family style and still had left overs for a table of 4. Salt & Pepper fish- yummmmm and great size portion for our table. Complex flavors that were more sophisticated from what you would find at a Chinese restaurant. I love salt & pepper fish and this one was well seasoned. Sautéed eggplant- I don't typically like eggplant cooked this way but I was pleasantly surprised by the flavor. Chicken kebat- really good and went well with our crab fried rice. We had it made mild which went down well with all 4 of us. Crab fried rice- I wasn't a fan of the Tobiko because I felt like it took way from the fried rice. There were such huge chunks of crab visible in the dish but it was majorly overpowered by the chucnks. Mango sago- Delicious. I have to say I've never had mango sago like this with the blended mango and without coco de nato.

I would say it might have been due to my friend ordering a drink not realizing what she ordered and when brought to the table she set back instantly. I don't blame him, though he never showed his frustration, he came to the table maybe twice and we had to ask for our check through someone else. We decided to sit outside, close to edge of patio, beware their pits are behind the fences and ashes fly over fence. I had to cover my drink. We ordered: Burmese Chicken Wings 10/10- so worth the price even though you get like 4-5 wings. Garlic Noodles 10/10 - a perfect balance of garlic and flavor. The sauce gives more flavor Black Peeper Beef- 10/10 I love the meat was sliced thin and full of flavor. Honey Walnut Shrimp- 7/10 huge shrimp, I rate 7 because I am not a fan of seafood so probably much higher rating who eats seafood like that. A perfect sweetness and crunch from the walnuts. The server was great to offer to bring me hot sauce on the side since my friend was not a fan of spicy and if you ask for the hot sauce it is hot, say take in moderation to fit your spice level. I would definitely be back to try different things on the menu since it all looked so yummy.

This place is located in a small multi tenant shopping center located near the entrance of Hiddenbrooke with ample parking-so that was nice. This restaurant is for sure a local restaurant that serves the Hiddenbrooke community with most of their patrons being locals from the community. That was what we found upon arrival, most of the customers did seem to be locals in for a quick lunch. I would describe this place as an Asian fusion restaurant.-the depth of their menu was surprising-like "Cheesecake Factory-esque" level depth of menu.Their sushi menu was many pages and I hadn't even planned on getting sushi but after looking at this menu,I had to try something-so went with a simple Spicy Tuna Roll ($12.95). Off the Thai menu we decided to go with the Trio Meat Fried Rice ($20.95) Virgin Drunken Noodle ($18.95) Pad See U ($16.95) and Drunken Noodle ($16.95) Well I don't consider myself an expert when it comes to Asian fusion but I've had it more than a handful of times-so I can say with confidence that the food here was pretty good- very tasty-the Virgin Drunken Noodles were Interesting due to their use of glass noodles-the beef in that dish was seasoned well.I ordered my Drunken Noodles spicy and for that they delivered, quite a spicy dish. The Pad See U had really good veggies on it-very tasty and snappy. The Spicy Tuna Roll was pretty standard-the highlight being I somehow got my mother to try sushi for the 1st time by eating a piece of this sushi roll-she didn't hate it which I think is a pretty good review from a 73 year old Native American woman trying sushi for the 1st time. In closing,if u ever find yourself out in the Vallejo or Hiddenbrooke area and you want to give a small local business a try-this place is a pretty good choice-with a menu this big, your bound to find something on there that will make you happy. I ordered the tomato prawns with linguine and toasted French bread. My partner had the prawn cocktail with a side garden salad. We also ordered iced tea, which turned out to be Brisk literally Brisk, not fresh brewed tea. For a waterfront restaurant overlooking the Carquinez Bridge, with entrées running around $29, I expected a little more attention to quality. My linguine tasted like what I can only describe as an upscale cafeteria meal. The tomato sauce had a noticeable heat to it that I don't remember seeing described on the menu, and the overall flavor lacked depth. I ended up needing plenty of lemon, Parmesan cheese, and butter just to bring some life into the dish. The prawn cocktail was extremely spicy and also missed the mark. Between both meals, the food simply lacked luster. There was also an odd metallic aftertaste that made me wonder whether some of the food had been sitting or prepared in industrial metal pans. I can't say for certain what caused it, but it was noticeable enough to affect the experience. The bright spots were the strawberry lemonade and the warm bread, both of which I actually enjoyed. What disappointed me most was that the restaurant wasn't particularly busy on this Saturday afternoon, so I expected the kitchen to have a little more room to put care into the plates. Instead, the food felt like it lacked love, effort, and the kind of detail that makes you feel good about spending nearly $30 per entrée. Sailor Jack's has one of those settings that should make the meal memorable. Unfortunately, this time the view carried the experience more than the food did. Would I return? Maybe but probably just to try a burger, enjoy the scenery, and keep my expectations much lower. Overall: beautiful location, underwhelming food, and definitely a meal that lacked luster.
