I'm honestly debating whether or not I should post this review, but I think I should speak on behalf of my experience. I haven't been to this nail salon in years, just because I usually go to another spot in Kaneohe, since it's closer to home... so I decided to give this place a shot because I was desperate to get a pedi, despite the not so good reviews.. my nails were looking crusty, dusty, musty. I love that I was able to get a walk-in appointment immediately. Convenience is a plus, there are many chairs & staff available. The massage chairs are outdated, I couldn't read the buttons BUT it did do the job. Now for the service, it was good, my massage felt nice & relaxing, the results came out nice, but everyone & their mama is saying it only lasts for a week.. so we shall see. Little disappointed because I didn't get the mask for my deluxe pedicure... I guess the biggest downfall is the customer service. I just felt uncomfortable how my nail tech, and the one beside him were speaking in Vietnamese, snickering, & laughing. We all have that thought that comes to our mind if people are talking shit or not, but it really is peoples' body language, demeanor, and vibe they give off, which makes me feel this way. I know they are aware of this. Now, don't come for me saying I'm a racist haole, Karen, from "Krylua." I'm actually hapa, asian / white / Hispanic, & my mom is an immigrant from Okinawa. I can speak Japanese and I think it's beautiful to embrace your culture & language. That is NOT the issue. It's giving that negative aura & attitude that comes across as they're being disrespectful / are probably taking behind your back or actually in front of you. I didn't like the way that I felt, so unfortunately, this nail salon will be a pass for me, and I won't be coming back.. which is a shame because I would've been a good customer & I tip good. read more

This place is ok. The polish started to chip off in two days. The services are not clearly labeled on the menu and what you might expect from a nail solon is not standard here. You will not get a massage unless you specifically request it. I selected one of the mid priced options because I did not need my legs rubbed with oranges. They consider a sugar scrub a massage, they do the scrub but no lotion so your legs will be very dry when you leave. They do have a large variety of color options, the polish brand is unknown though and could be why the quality is not high. read more

The salon looks like it had been remodeled and clean. The gal who I do not remember her name as I went a few weeks ago. I showed her an inspo pic and she helped me pick out colors. After that is where I started getting frustrated. I had to inform the gal that I needed my nails cut shorter, but she proceeds to ask me several times and every time I responded with yes please cut. She then tries to just file down my nails but I informed her yet again I wanted shorter. I also had to inform her several times on the shape of what I wanted. Finally got the shape and length down. I wanted a regular manicure. She pulls out the grinder and I told her I am not doing gel polish. It damages my nails way too much. I prefer regular polish and yes I know it doesn't last as long. She tells me she can't do the simple design of stripes on one nail because I was not doing gel. Doesn't make sense to me why she couldn't. I ended up getting the two colors on different nails. Just really wish nail techs would listen to what the customer wants and not be so pushy to do something that they don't want. Over the years this is why I have opted to not go get my nails done regularly. read more

The only positive thing about this salon is that they'll take walk-ins quickly without an appointment. Unfortunately, that's also the downfall if you're new to the area and don't know which nail tech to avoid. I went in with my boyfriend for pedicures. His turned out great--he had a nice technician who took her time. I, on the other hand, got paired with a man wearing glasses, and it was a completely different experience. He rushed through the entire pedicure, didn't cut or file my nails properly, left them uneven and crooked, and barely touched my cuticles. I even had to go home and file them straight myself. When I asked him (twice) to remove dead skin and fix my nails, he acted like he didn't understand me, which felt dismissive and frustrating. Instead of relaxing, I felt rushed and annoyed. I ended up just paying and leaving, even though I wasn't happy with the service. Personally, I won't be going back. If you're new in town and looking for a salon, just beware--your experience will really depend on who you get. read more

My friend went to Jenny this afternoon and did not receive spectacular service. Sup par at best. Jenny nicked her cuticle and made her bleed. My friend asked for coffin shaped French tips, did not receive what she asked for. Instead, she got rounded tips and one shade of pink and white which is translucent. Got my nails done by Diane. Here's a rant... After having such a great day, we decided to end it with a pedicure. I've been to Kailua Nail Care many times before, and it's always been a decent experience however today felt like I walked into some alternate reality. My daughter and I sat down. She was wearing shorts and was given a towel to cover her legs. I, on the other hand, was wearing a skirt and wasn't offered anything. Even more frustrating was that I noticed other clients had towels, too. So why was I the exception? That felt off from the start. Then, the foot bath I was soaking in was nearly overflowing, and she filled it with so many bubbles it was rising above the basin up to my knees. Totally excessive and messy. But that wasn't even the worst part. The nail tech cut my left big toenail in such a jagged way that her glove kept catching on it every time she rubbed my foot. Then she used the "cheese grater" on my heels and for some reason thought it was okay to hack at my foot. It was aggressive and careless to the point where she nicked my ankle, and it started to bleed. It was also rough on the top part of my foot and only noticed that a cut almost opened up there as well! I calmly told her what happened about the jagged toenail and the cut on my ankle and instead of apologizing, she had the nerve to ask me if I had ingrown toenails. Like... are you serious? You're staring directly at my toenails. You just cut them. Don't ask me a question you already know the answer to. And then, without saying another word, she slathered thick lotion right over the cut, which burned like crazy. I asked her to wipe it off, and instead of acknowledging anything, she went to grab a towel, wiped it off and just disappeared and sat at a manicure table alone. Another tech, who had just finished my daughter's pedicure, awkwardly stepped in to finish mine. He looked completely uncomfortable. The tech I'd been to before (seated nearby) told him not to charge me. Apparently, he wanted to give me a discount because he told my daughter that, which is wild considering the circumstances. To top it all off, when we got outside, my daughter pointed out I still had lotion smeared on the back of my leg. Just careless. What really gets me is the complete lack of accountability. I truly don't understand how a business can treat someone like that and not even truly acknowledge it. No apology, no concern, not even a basic explanation. Just silence and awkward deflection, as if nothing happened. Sure I didn't have to pay but why not apologize for the service. Absolutely awful experience. I won't be going back. Love Love LOVEEEE this place. I have been coming here since October of last year and have not been disappointed since. If you are able to go I HIGHLY suggest getting the appointment with Yenvy. Every time I come in we have a great time and chat it up and my nails come out even better than I expect every time. I also tend to get a lot of designs and 3D works on my nails and she is able to produce beautiful and high quality work each time. Shes also just an all around fun person to chat with while getting your nails done. But, I wish they had OPI polish like they did in the past because I don't care to get a gel pedicure. They do have a large selection of colors though. I took off a couple stars because the last few times I've been there, I was asked if I wanted a gel pedicure. I politely declined. The one lady asked me 3 times if I wanted gel. She saw the woman next to me getting gel and said "See. She's getting gel." Another time the lady asked me twice. I had Julie as my nail tech. I feel like the basics of a pedicure is to remove the dirt from under the toe. She didn't even after I had pointed it out. It was so obvious, both my big toe nails didn't have the dirt cleaned from under. Also at the end, Julie was very pushy about her tip. She gave me her Venmo QR code....I was mid convo with my friend and she said "I can't see the Venmo " before I could even get out of the chair. Didn't want to cause a scene since they seemed so busy. My mother-in-law and I went the other day for our first time. We came in for pedicures without an appointment and they accommodated us quickly. We both were given the options of different types of pedicures. We both clearly told our technicians that we wanted the basic pedicures... which were $37. My technician was quite rough with my feet. It was not a great experience. After finishing our pedicures and asking for the bill, they charged us each $58. We explained that we asked for the basic pedicure and they said they gave us a gel pedicure and it was $58. After some back-and-forth they looked at us as blankly and asked for the money. BEWARE! Thought I'd give this place a try. I live locally so why not. I was excited to bring my husband w me as it was his first time getting a pedicure. What a mistake! I usually go (for the past 4 years in Waikiki) I looked at the reviews . They were a mixed bag..... my two employees had just gone the week before and they said it was great. My experience was a 1 out of 10. To say the least we both felt like we were in some sort of get in get out situation. No care, in and out. On my feet she didn't even get the dead skin off of the bottom. I had to go home and take a Palmerstone to the bottom of my own feet and get off all the dead skin. I'm embarrassed for the fact that I took my husband there as it was his first time that's not a good experience for your first time. I'm also sorry that o have both of them a tip! I've always been nervous to get hot gel done because I am mean to my fingernails and didn't think it would last. I do mechanic work on my car that breaks my nails and work in healthcare and wash my hands a million times a day - these nails survive it all. Definitely recommend John for hot gel service! He'll make you a super tough set of talons! I even accidentally scraped them a bunch of times with a dremel and just wiped off the scratches with a finger! 10/10 read more

I have been coming to Kailua Nail Care for years!! They are amazing. Jessica and Bella always take great care of me and my daughter. The staff is friendly and accommodating. If I had to give a friendly suggestion, PLEASE FIX THE AC!! Sometimes it's a bit hot and the fans blow powder everywhere. Got a nail fungus from here on my thumb. Tools were not sterilized. I asked about it but they did not understand me. (Or pretended not to) My friend got a pedi and got a cuticle infection. Fungus went away after a few months with a topical solution I got from target. (My friend had to go to a doctor and get antibiotics) I had been coming here for a year or so but that just Convinced me to just a $40 gel/uv Kit from Amazon. Just proceed with caution! It seems like they care about giving good treatment to long time clients. I was not asking for much, it was simple but I don't think the woman's technique was clean enough so I kept making corrections since I'm paying for them! I had like three employees come up to my area and five of them be passive aggressive towards me. I have to be honest, I completely forgot about an even I needed to go to and didn't schedule to have my gel polish removed. I walked in at 9:30am needing mainly gel removal. John (the nail tech) asked if I wanted polish and I told him I needed to be done by 10am. He said he could do it. So I took him up on the offer. He ACTUALLY FINISHED at 10am, both the gel removal and gel manicure within 30 minutes. I seriously don't recommend doing a rush manicure, but if you need one pronto, John is your guy! read more

Indifferent service. Poor quality. Overpriced. I am sadly disappointed with the way my 87-year-old mother was treated for her first time experience here. We won't be back. My mother recently moved from Kaneohe and her nail tech at the Windward Mall retired a couple of months ago, so she's been wanting to find a salon in Kailua. This place was conveniently located, and she walked-in for a simple mani-pedi (no color) to try it out. There was no waiting and that's the only good thing I can say about the service. I helped my mom check-in and then left her there to be taken care of while I went to run a few errands. I came back about a 45 mins later and wished I had not left her alone, maybe she would have been treated better. The vibe is like a factory, loud and impersonal. The website says "premier experience" and that's a joke. This is not the kind of place where you can relax. The technician was not friendly or kind to my mom, or considerate of kupuna. Since all my mom wanted was her nails trimmed, the lack of attention to quality or customer service was surprising. No soaking, no buffing or "pampering" of any kind like the website advertises - just a little nail clipping and filing and that will be $57. Frankly I've had poodles treated to better & friendlier nail-clipping jobs at dog salons. read more

My nails turned out great here, but I would have to say that my nail technician was extremely rude to me and saying that it was cleared that I hadn't gotten my nails done in a while. Which yes I hadn't but my nails didn't look that bad to begin with. I gave a tip just to be polite. This is my first time getting acrylics and my friend recommended this place to me. I've been before, but that was for pedicures. I haven't been since they expanded their space. I would come back, but I would request getting somebody else. This was the first time in over a year that I got to have a self care day and I was so excited to get a manicure. The guy who did my nails was rude when I didn't know what kind of shapes there were for the acrylic tips and then said that round would look bad on short nails so he made them fat and square. They are glued to my skin on the sides of my nail, they are so thick yet somehow separated from my actual nail, they are not smooth or even or painted on the tip. Worst salon. Did a gel set here and it wasn't even high quality but I didn't complain. I literally had to go home and try to file to adjust the nails myself. then I come to remove and they told me a time to come and then when I came they said come back in 1.5 hours. I put my name on the list and came back 5 min before that time. Then they said come back in 30 min. Like no one has all day to just hang around.
