It was my first time visiting your practice! I had a great experience today knowing the fact that Doctor Chonway Tram was honest in explaining the process in repairing my mother's teeth. On the other hand his dental work on my loose crown was extraordinary fast and precise to the point I didn't need a root canal. We love Dr. tram... He is honest ... he doesn't do work he doesn't need to do and he doesn't an excellent job on the work he does do when it's needed. We travel from an hour away to see him (as do some other friends of our who recommended him) because we feel he is that good and honest . I am a loyal patient to my last dentist if 13 years but I now love an hour one way from her office so it just wasn't something I realistically would keep up with... I searched for a few months reading reviews until I landed on Kaio Dental. I scheduled easily by calling in and arranged for a cleaning and cavity fill. I went in today for said appointment. Unfortunately, they prioritize the cavity filling which is not bad. I'll be back again on the 19th, but I was hoping to just get it all done in one day. They are very comfortable very good bedside manner answered all of my questions gave me feedback on what they were seeing and did a great job. I'm not upset that I have to go back. I've been coming here for years and I truly believe my dentist is the best -- his work is excellent and I've always appreciated the care he provides. However, I recently had a disappointing experience with the billing process. After my treatment, I paid the remaining balance and even asked the receptionist if I owed anything else because I wanted to make sure everything was settled. I was told no. Later, I received an invoice reflecting the balance I owe, which turned out to be charges not covered by insurance. While I completely understand that insurance doesn't always cover everything, what bothered me was the lack of communication. A simple heads-up about pending charges would have made a big difference. When I called to clarify, the receptionist pointed to the disclaimer, but after years of being a patient, I had forgotten about it. Unfortunately, the interaction left me feeling more like a number than a valued patient. To be clear: the dentist himself is outstanding, and I have nothing but praise for his work. I've been a patient here since they first opened and brought my whole family and we really liked Dr. Tram. In the last few years, things have changed a lot, I haven't seen Dr. Tram in quite a while. The last dentist who came in the room, I don't even know what they look like because I was lying down when they introduced themselves. I have been coming to this office for a few years now. I've always felt very comfortable with the staff and treatment plans they've recommended. I've never felt the type of treatment plans that have been offered were too much, they always aligned with my needs. Now it's my turn to review Kaio Dental. I was previously with another dentist for close to twenty years. I am a very loyal and consistent person. After moving to Rancho Cucamonga nine years ago, I would travel back to West Covina for my dental appointments. My wife got tired of the drive, so she started looking for a dentist in Rancho. After she started at Kaio she raved about how good the dentist was, and the service they provided. I was skeptical at first, but decided to give Kaio Dental a try. I had a consultation with Dr. Tram and was very encouraged by his demeanor and easy going personality. I started with X-rays, and a dental cleaning. Dr. Trams staff was phenomenal. They were attentive and caring. I was very impressed by my overall experience with Kaio Dental. I became a believer. If it's one thing that disappoints, it's definitely when a business says they'll call you back to schedule your appointment and NEVER do. Cherry on top- the receptionist was a pleasure to speak with... said no one ever. She was not welcoming at all. She might as well just have said, "I'm sorry, I'm too busy for your call," or "I'm not interested in taking new patients." What ever the reason for her churlish tone, it is definitely not okay. I came to Dr. Tram on the recommendation of my mother-in-law who had major work performed by Dr. Tram in the form of a Root Canal and she spoke highly of him. I, myself, had not been to the Dentist in at least 5 years for anything routine or maintenance related, and I feared going due to both cost and just being scolded for (what I felt) were teeth in pretty poor condition. I made an appointment with Dr. Tram last year that had to be rescheduled, and I honestly didn't decide to follow up again until these past few weeks but I am extremely happy I did. First of all, on the payment front, Dr. Tram accepts most major insurance providers which allowed me to have a low payment. Even then, I mentioned to the receptionist that I had double coverage on my wife's policy and they were able to make sure I had nothing out of pocket. I am glad the receptionist took the time to look into it as it saved me even more on what could have been a moderately expensive dental trip due to my lack of upkeep on my end. I knew I was going to need work as I had at least two fillings that fell out over time, but I was worried there would be far more damage. After taking a full x-ray of my mouth from at least 20 different angles, Dr. Tram was able to review everything and present to me what was necessary, what could wait, and what to watch for in a really comedic and easy to understand way. He was very personable and didn't make me feel wrong for my lapses on my part. He made me feel understood and like we would get everything in order and continue on with the better habits I have developed over the years. With that, we scheduled another appointment just 4 days later to begin the work. Dr. Tram was able to knock out a crown (no temporary crown, meaning no return at a later date with some weird feeling tooth for a few weeks! If you've ever had a Root Canal, you'll understand and appreciate what I am saying) within an hour. While he was creating the crown, we knocked out another major filling, removal of some old fillings to replace with newer, better material, and filling a minor cavity that I had. I was in and out within about an hour and fifteen minutes to repair 4 teeth. I thought it would be at least 2-3 hours and was blown away when I looked at the time and only an hour had elapsed. That in no way means the work was rushed or not thorough, as Dr. Tram made sure to explain everything to me and take his time in shaping the fillings and crown so they looked and felt like actual teeth and not just chunks of something placed to fill a void. My teeth feel whole again, and I am really grateful for Dr. Tram and his team for their stellar work. Needless to say, Dr. Tram has renewed my enthusiasm about dental hygiene and my need to take my dental health more serious. I still have to go back for another filling and cleaning, but I am happy Dr. Tram and his team have taken me in as a customer as I will be returning on at least a yearly basis. I have a fear of dentists and haven't been in an embarrassingly long time. I am very, very wary of dentists and took my time scouring the internet to find a dentist that seemed trustworthy when I finally received my new dental insurance. I chose this office and thankfully, they accepted my insurance. I made an appointment and went in for a checkup and cleaning. I came in 10 minutes early because I knew I would have to fill out some paperwork, and the very nice ladies at the front got me started immediately. They were all very nice. I only waited a few minutes before Yanyan (I'm unsure of the spelling of her name) took my to get my xrays done. I always have trouble with dental xrays, but she was very patient and nice. In fact, she was very nice throughout the whole entire process of xrays and cleaning my teeth! She was very gentle and it did not hurt at all, which was what I was so scared about. The doctor came in mid-cleaning to let me know his recommendations, and I was so happy and relieved to hear that I did not have to really do much. He seemed very genuine and gave me no pressure to get anything done. I already knew I needed to get my wisdom teeth out, but the way he explained everything was so gentle and genuine. He was also very funny and friendly! After he made sure I had no more questions, Yanyan finished my cleaning and I was out of there. The best dental visit I have ever experienced. The staff was attentive, knowledgable and articulated each phase of the procedure to include an itemized cost of the procedure. The Dentist was kind and confident. He didn't try and push any additional work.The complete Crown work took an hour or so to complete, but all the work was finished in this one visit. There was no temporary crown with a later appt for the fitting of the permanent crown, one appt, and that was it. When the dentist applied the anesthetic, there wasn't even a mild pinch. I chose this dentist because of the good reviews I'm not sure now. So far I've been here 3 times and each time I'm seen 20-30mins after my scheduled appointment. Last time I went for a crown. My appointment was at 12pm I showed up 15mins early to check in. Then another patient shows up at 12pm and stated he was 30 mins late to his appointment. They decided to take him in instead of me. I continued to wait and by 12:20pm I confronted the receptionist about the situation told her I didn't appreciate them taking a patient that was late and pushing my appointment when I showed up on time and asked if I needed to reschedule since I wasn't being seen in a timely matter. She said they didn't have any rooms available for me and as soon as they did I would be called in. I did not receive a kind of acknowledgment or accountability for having to wait so long. I wasn't called in until 12:30 and my procedure didn't started until 12:40 when my appointment was at 12pm I found this incredibly inconsiderate of people's times and unprofessional to take a patient that was late over someone who was on time. The patient that was late should have been turned away or made to wait. When I finally saw dentist I mentioned having to wait so long to be attended and he completely ignored my complaint. Only person to acknowledge my complaint was the dental assistant. Then in the middle of procedure the dentist stopped to once again attend the patient that was late. Anyways I didn't leave the office until almost 2pm because of my procedure constantly being stopped to attend to other patients or other issues in the office. read more

First Time Patient: Great customer service, from the receptionist, dental hygienist (Vanessa) to Dr. Kaio. They were friendly, courteous and more importantly informative and helpful. The facilities are very clean and modern. I had very little wait time. They also have a tv on the ceiling, where you can watch a movie of your choice, while you lay in the dentist chair.
