The staff did not seem concerned about the risk to my child. They also did not seem educated in preventing allergic reactions for future patients. The clinic was clean and the staff were polite albeit uneducated in food allergies. Those with a tree nut allergy be warned.

Unfortunately my wife has had a ton of work done on her teeth throughout the years. We've seen dentists who recommended doing a full mouth reconstruction $60k. She's had multiple root canals and crowns. We went to our normal dentist who said she needs a new crown because a cavity is forming. But we weren't sure. We heard about Kaio Dental from another dentist friend and drove the hour drive from OC to see him. Let's just say we found our new dentist and are willing to drive that hour every 6 months. Dr. Tram is amazing. He taught at Western so he's knowledgeable and skilled. He understands its a changing field and one way is not the correct way. He also knows that explanation to the patient is key. He actually explained to use and showed us with a CT scan why she should hold off on the crown. There was a possible infection in the root so he recommended the imaging being read by an endodontist because if he replaced the crown and introduced bacteria into the area, it may cause even more pain. Something we had no idea on. He has amazing ethics. Isn't in it for the money. Just wants to be a good dentist. He doesn't do same day crowns anymore as he said it's too rushed and he wants focus on the quality since he does it himself. Great team, great office, clean, good parking.

They placed a temporary crown that fell out after only two weeks. I have had temporary crowns before and have never experienced anything like this. When I called for an emergency appointment to have it fixed, they told me they had no availability and suggested I go to CVS to buy temporary tooth repair putty and fix it myself until their next available appointment. That is not the level of care I expect from a dental office. The billing issues have been even worse. After spending over a month going back and forth between the office and my insurance company, I discovered they had charged me more than $1,000 out of pocket for work my insurance had already paid for. On top of that, they billed me for two premium crowns that I never approved or received. I actually received standard porcelain crowns. Their explanation was that these were all "coding mistakes." To make matters worse, they acknowledged that they owe me a refund of over $800, but I was told I have to wait seven days because the person who processes refunds, Kristie, is on vacation. Between the poor dental work, lack of emergency care, repeated billing errors, and the inconvenience of waiting for money that should never have been charged in the first place, this has been an incredibly frustrating experience. I would recommend looking elsewhere if you want quality dental care and accurate billing.

The dental work has since been corrected, and I am thankful that she took ownership of the issue and worked toward a resolution. Situations like this can happen in medical or dental care, but what matters most is how the provider responds, and in this case she responded with professionalism and care. Unfortunately, my negative experience with the office manager, Toni, remains a concern. The way the situation was initially handled and the tone of communication felt dismissive and unnecessarily rude. Patient concerns--especially when someone is in significant pain--should be addressed with empathy and professionalism. That said, I want to give credit where it is due. My critique is not of my experience relating to the type of care received, but rather the operation as a whole. My family has been coming here for what WOULD be 2 years, but that ends today. To understand where this review is going - this is a corporate dental office where bottom line comes before patient care. Corporations, as we all know, put money before people, and will even go so far as to inconvenience clients to ensure they meet their quota of patients and out of pocket expenses (this is allegedly based on customer AND employee experience for this dental group). The 1-star reviews are a quick tell of that - heed the warning. I have had my husband and kids coming here for some time and while I have nothing negative to say of the children's experience, my husband has also had a substandard/subpar experience as well. Imagine an ongoing infected tooth requiring a root canal with swollen gums/sensitivity, NO antibiotics and delayed healing. He later required another 2 root canals, to which it was observed that there was an infection on the last one (negligence/dental malpractice). The cavity filling that they did also didn't last very long before falling out. One of the temporary caps he needed on his most recent visit was so poorly placed that he was gluing it down 2x a day in order to eat. This is of course AFTER he had already gone back for them to fix it. Good thing the permanent was done well without issue or complaint and antibiotics were administered, after the fact. As for me, I hadn't been to the dentist since COVID (5+ years) and when making my appointment, I emphasized that I hadn't had any kind of dental exam or cleaning in that time and specifically wanted a deep cleaning. Day of my appointment, I'm promptly seen for X-rays and the exam. During the exam it is noted that I have beginning stages of perio, where the dentist thoroughly informs and educates me on the matter. LOVED that! She then tells me I need laser treatment that is not covered by insurance. I do not love that. I ask her if I'll be getting a cleaning today that IS covered by my insurance. NOPE. I have to wait *7 months*. So as I am leaving, I am absolutely dumbfounded on why I did not get the one thing I came for and being haggled into paying $130 for something when they couldn't even CLEAN MY TEETH AFTER 5+ YEARS. That should have been the last straw, but alas, here's the review. I did have one prior appointment in December where things went normally and I did get my teeth/perio cleaned and the experience was standard. My appointment today was at 3:30pm. I got SEVERAL notices to check-in, fill out, and sign documents before my appointment. DONE. I even called them to confirm what the appointment was for and it was a follow-up perio cleaning (2 limited deep cleanings in 3 months for preventative perio disease). I have kids, so I dropped them off early to avoid risking being late, get to the dentist at 3:05pm and wait. And wait. And wait. At 20 minutes past my appointment time (45 minutes of sitting and waiting), I just got up and told them to cancel my appointment, and left. This place is not great or exceptional or consistent and I think it's no fault of the dentists and hygienists themselves, but rather the corporation they work for and the management that is responsible for overbooking and managing appointments. I don't even want to comment on the front desk staff because the attitude seems to be standard across the board for people who sign up for that job. Dentists already have a bad reputation of charging unnecessary services and procedures. Now put that into a corporation's hands and you are literally a walking cash cow for these people. Upgrade your dental plan to PPO and avoid corporate greed.

George Tao is a crook!…read more Not only was my time wasted keeping me in the waiting room for over 45 minutes beyond my appointment time during each visit, but had the gall to up-charge my twice-yearly cleaning (with Delta Dental Insurance) by $300 claiming it as "deep" cleaning. And that was just for the upper teeth on my first visit. Additionally, Tao claimed that a previous filling was suspect and that I should have a crown placed over that tooth. When I told him that I would consider that at some future point in time, Tao threatened me by telling me that if I did not take care of this right away because he recommended the procedure, the insurance company would not help pay for it if and when it became a problem. So, on my second visit a week later, yet another $300 up-charge for the lower teeth! Then Tao began to administer a numbing agent in order to prepare me for the crown he recommended. I had to remind him I would consider that at some future point in time, and at this time I do not approve this treatment. Additionally, Tao recommended a dental rinse (with the reference that his dad uses this every night), and failed to mention that would be another $45 added to my bill. I was then scheduled for a third visit, an earliest time available follow up visit 5 months later, of which I had to reschedule, so 7 months later, Tao says I missed my "3" month cleaning and would have to charge me an additional $150. When I mentioned I have Delta Dental insurance and they say I get a dental exam with X-rays and 2 cleanings per year as part of my coverage, Tao claims he was taught in dental school how to perform in his practice and not what Delta Dental Insurance covers. So I got up out of the dental chair, accused Tao of nickel and diming his customers through up-charges, and walked out of that facility. Tao abuses his privilege as a professional, and preys on the elderly for additional income. Not recommended !!!

Dr. Tram is extremely professional, knowledgeable, and truly one of the best at what he does. He takes the time to explain everything, makes sure you feel comfortable, and you can tell that he genuinely cares about his patients--not just their teeth, but their overall experience and well-being. The entire staff is friendly, welcoming, professional, and always goes above and beyond to make every visit as comfortable as possible. It's rare to find a dental office where you feel this well taken care of. If you're looking for a dentist you can trust, I highly recommend Kaio Dental and Dr. Tram. Unfortunately my wife has had a ton of work done on her teeth throughout the years. We've seen dentists who recommended doing a full mouth reconstruction $60k. She's had multiple root canals and crowns. We went to our normal dentist who said she needs a new crown because a cavity is forming. But we weren't sure. We heard about Kaio Dental from another dentist friend and drove the hour drive from OC to see him. Let's just say we found our new dentist and are willing to drive that hour every 6 months. Dr. Tram is amazing. He taught at Western so he's knowledgeable and skilled. He understands its a changing field and one way is not the correct way. He also knows that explanation to the patient is key. He actually explained to use and showed us with a CT scan why she should hold off on the crown. There was a possible infection in the root so he recommended the imaging being read by an endodontist because if he replaced the crown and introduced bacteria into the area, it may cause even more pain. Something we had no idea on. He has amazing ethics. Isn't in it for the money. Just wants to be a good dentist. He doesn't do same day crowns anymore as he said it's too rushed and he wants focus on the quality since he does it himself. Great team, great office, clean, good parking.
