Unfortunately my wife has had a ton of work done on her teeth throughout the years. We've seen dentists who recommended doing a full mouth reconstruction $60k. She's had multiple root canals and crowns. We went to our normal dentist who said she needs a new crown because a cavity is forming. But we weren't sure. We heard about Kaio Dental from another dentist friend and drove the hour drive from OC to see him. Let's just say we found our new dentist and are willing to drive that hour every 6 months. Dr. Tram is amazing. He taught at Western so he's knowledgeable and skilled. He understands its a changing field and one way is not the correct way. He also knows that explanation to the patient is key. He actually explained to use and showed us with a CT scan why she should hold off on the crown. There was a possible infection in the root so he recommended the imaging being read by an endodontist because if he replaced the crown and introduced bacteria into the area, it may cause even more pain. Something we had no idea on. He has amazing ethics. Isn't in it for the money. Just wants to be a good dentist. He doesn't do same day crowns anymore as he said it's too rushed and he wants focus on the quality since he does it himself. Great team, great office, clean, good parking.

The staff did not seem concerned about the risk to my child. They also did not seem educated in preventing allergic reactions for future patients. The clinic was clean and the staff were polite albeit uneducated in food allergies. Those with a tree nut allergy be warned.

They placed a temporary crown that fell out after only two weeks. I have had temporary crowns before and have never experienced anything like this. When I called for an emergency appointment to have it fixed, they told me they had no availability and suggested I go to CVS to buy temporary tooth repair putty and fix it myself until their next available appointment. That is not the level of care I expect from a dental office. The billing issues have been even worse. After spending over a month going back and forth between the office and my insurance company, I discovered they had charged me more than $1,000 out of pocket for work my insurance had already paid for. On top of that, they billed me for two premium crowns that I never approved or received. I actually received standard porcelain crowns. Their explanation was that these were all "coding mistakes." To make matters worse, they acknowledged that they owe me a refund of over $800, but I was told I have to wait seven days because the person who processes refunds, Kristie, is on vacation. Between the poor dental work, lack of emergency care, repeated billing errors, and the inconvenience of waiting for money that should never have been charged in the first place, this has been an incredibly frustrating experience. I would recommend looking elsewhere if you want quality dental care and accurate billing.

I've had one of the most enjoyable dentist's appointments I've ever had at Persona Dental Group thanks to Dr. Shaw and the Persona staff. If other dentists that I went to were like Dr. Shaw, I would never be afraid of going to the dentist. I have had amazing experience with this office! Prior to scheduling my appointment, I spoke directly with the dentist, Dr. Lee regarding a chipped front tooth that I have had bonded since I was 8 years old. I explained that my primary reason for becoming a new patient was to have the bonding evaluated and repaired, in addition to receiving routine X-rays and a cleaning. During that phone conversation, the dentist assured me that he performs bonding and indicated that it would not be an issue, although he would need to evaluate the tooth first. On the day of my appointment, I waited over an hour past my scheduled appointment time before being seen. After reviewing my X-rays and examining my tooth, the dentist immediately began recommending a crown or veneer. I clearly stated that I was not interested in either option and wished to continue with bonding, as I have successfully done for many years. At that point, his explanation became confusing. He stated that he would need to make a mold and send it to a lab, which did not align with my understanding of a standard bonding repair. I directly asked about his experience and comfort level with bonding procedures. He ultimately admitted that he was not comfortable performing the bonding because there was existing bonding material on the tooth and he could not easily distinguish where my natural tooth ended and the previous bonding began. I then asked directly whether he was refusing to perform the bonding because my tooth already had bonding material on it, and he confirmed that was the case. What made this especially frustrating is that I had specifically discussed this exact situation with him the day before my appointment. Had he been honest and forthcoming about his limitations or lack of comfort with this type of bonding repair, I would have sought care elsewhere and avoided wasting my time, taking time off work, and sitting through an appointment that was never going to address my actual concern and well over my appointment time. Instead, I left feeling misled and pressured toward more expensive treatment options such as a crown or veneer that I had already stated I did not want. There is nothing wrong with recommending alternative treatments, but patients deserve transparency from the beginning. If a dentist is unwilling or unable to perform a procedure, that should be communicated before scheduling an appointment not after the patient has already invested their time and money. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this office based on my experience.

review okay here we go …read more.. I would strongly discourage anyone from coming to this dental office. The quality of the work has been unacceptable. They placed a temporary crown that fell out after only two weeks. I have had temporary crowns before and have never experienced anything like this. When I called for an emergency appointment to have it fixed, they told me they had no availability and suggested I go to CVS to buy temporary tooth repair putty and fix it myself until their next available appointment. That is not the level of care I expect from a dental office. The billing issues have been even worse. After spending over a month going back and forth between the office and my insurance company, I discovered they had charged me more than $1,000 out of pocket for work my insurance had already paid for. On top of that, they billed me for two premium crowns that I never approved or received. I actually received standard porcelain crowns. Their explanation was that these were all "coding mistakes." To make matters worse, they acknowledged that they owe me a refund of over $800, but I was told I have to wait seven days because the person who processes refunds, Kristie, is on vacation. Between the poor dental work, lack of emergency care, repeated billing errors, and the inconvenience of waiting for money that should never have been charged in the first place, this has been an incredibly frustrating experience. I would recommend looking elsewhere if you want quality dental care and accurate billing.
