Dorothea, David, all the wonderful patient young ladies who call out number after number for hours on end... let me put it this way, if you're sick and tired of being treated/mocked by the folks at the retail pharmacies: at the Kaiser Everett Pharmacy on Pine St (RIP Maple St) will make you feel like you're a patient, they work with you and your insurance always. they just get it. never have i had to worry that my meds wouldnt be ready. every time I've ever filled anywhere else, I've had to almost guarantee they'd find 6 different excuses as to why I couldn't fill my medicine. so if you like filling your meds at a pharmacy where you are treated like a human being, where people care and go above and beyond. then you will begin to appreciate the worlds greatest pharmacy staff ever assembled in the history of modern medicine, at the Everett Pine St Kaiser Perm. We live in Bellingham, about 60 miles north of Everett. My son's pediatrician (in Bellingham) was not available for more than 2 months; so, I reached out Kaiser to see they can get us in sooner. He was able to be seen the following week. The appointment went very smoothly from the beginning to end. Our appointment was right on time, which is rare with doctors. The provider (PA-C: Certified Physician Assistant) was not in hurry, spending time with us, and answering all of my questions. After getting x-rays, we were sent home. We received an x-ray report (prepared by a radiologist) within a few hours for us to access using the portal. I have to say their followup was amazing. A few days after the appointment, we received a message from the provider about follow-up. They were initially going to schedule an e-consultation with a specialist within Kaiser, but the care team decided to go ahead and refer us to a pediatric specialist outside Kaiser as they thought it was medically appropriate. After the referral was made, the Everett clinic called me to follow up. We have only used a Kaiser medical center once, but our experience has been superb. We drove 1 hour each way for the appointment, but it was well worth it. Horrible customer service. The people who check you in are rude and short with you. Parking sucks and it's just very inconvenient

Last year I made the poor decision to change my health plan from Premera to Kaiser PPO. I've been paying $1,200 a month for this plan which denied an osteoporosis medication (Prolia) that my bone density had been increasing on. I was shocked. I was told--by my wonderful Polyclinic doc-- that Kaiser said I had to show an intolerence to biphosphonates, first. Yikes. I agreed to a treatment of Reclast (actually a big deal-- an infusion rather than the simple shot I was used to) to satisfy Kaiser and receive treatment for my osteoporosis -- which was improving on Prolia. Of course, Relclast is cheaper than Prolia. Reclast made me quite sick; I'm pretty tolerant to medications, but a few hours after the Reclast infusion I felt poisoned. Seriously sick for 1.5 days. Ok, I thought-- I won't be taking it again, but at least my bones were covered this year. Wrong! I just got the results of my recent DEXA scan and my lumber spine density decreased by 19% on Reclast!!! It was shocking to see the radiologist's notes saying I was now at high risk of a fracture. So thank you Kaiser for risky health situation I now find myself in- until I can begin treatment on Prolia again. I'm fortunate that I can afford to pay out of pocket if Kaiser's poor judgment causes them to deny it again. Kaiser administrators-- I hope that you are happy with the $400 you saved by denying a medication that I was improving on. read more

Kaiser is really weird and intrusive in their care. I've never known a Health Plan who incessantly calls me at my hospital bedside and insists that I receive their care and only their care. (I have another Health Insurance Company, so Kaiser is not the only Care Plan that I have but has INSISTED that I only use Kaiser). THEY CALLED ME AT MY HOSPITAL BEDSIDE! Kaiser has ruined my $0 prescription plan by insisting that I make a co-pay, because they keep messing with my Medicaid/Medicare Plan. So now my previous $0 prescriptions now cost me $15-50+++! Kaiser is extremely intrusive and does not recognize my other Health Insurance. This is coming at a great price to me, because I am poor and Kaiser is ruining my credit and my life. I have been going to this location to see Dr. Barber for the last few years and I have never been more comfortable with a doctor. She is absolutely amazing! I have also gotten labs and a mammogram done here and all of the staff members were wonderful. The building is in an easy to get to location and I have never had any issues. A lot of the negative reviews on here are about the insurance and not the clinic. I don't think it's fair to post negative reviews about a clinic, when you're actually irritated by the insurance company. I'm so glad that I found this clinic! read more

I signed up for health insurance with Kaiser Permanente in 2019. I had been using The Everett Clinic for many years and wasn't happy with the cost of using them. HA - I got billed $210.00 for a 5-minute appointment with Kaiser one time. Kaiser was a complete and utter nightmare. The doctors don't listen to you, I should actually say the specialist don't listed. I had felt something tear in my right shoulder while swimming. I went to my regular doc to check it out & asked for an MRI. The doc checked me out & felt that I should see a specialist. I was able to see the sports ortho doc right away. She put me through the paces again & did a ultra sound on my bicep muscles. She said there were a few small tears & suggested PT. I told her I was also having pain at the top of my shoulder & once again asked for an MRI. She said that was just pain transference & denied the MRI. After several PT appointments & increasing pain, I asked for an MRI for a 3rd time - AGAIN DENIED. I ended up stopping everything & changing insurance companies so I could go back to The Everett Clinic & seeing the doc that did my left shoulder in 2017. Needless to say, I had an MRI ordered at my 1st visit in January 2020 & rotator cuff surgery February 2020. I had massive damage to the cartridge, torn tendon, bone spurs, fractured shoulder ball & muscle tears. May 2020, I RECEIVED A BILL FROM KAISER FOR PT SERVICE FROM 8/2/2019! I contact them via email & was basically given ZERO information as to why there was a HUGE delay in billing & if there were any other surprise bills coming up. Also, at one point in 2019 I was sent to collections. I called Kaiser & they said they couldn't talk to me since my account had been sent to collections. After several tries & getting hung up on, I'm sure accidently, I finally got someone in billing to talk to me. While on hold for about 30 minutes she was able to find the problem. Kaiser hadn't been receiving my payments correctly which caused my account to be sent to collections. I'm thankfully to her for getting that straightened out but it shouldn't have happened in the 1st case. DO NOT USE KAISER! They are only interested in their bottom line, not your care or health at all! read more

This isn't actually about the medical center, it's about the insurance company. Kaiser is the worst insurance agency. Period. I was on hold for over 4 hours trying to get my husband a referral. Once I finally got connected, the woman said she would only speak to my husband. He was napping, I told her I would see if he was awake and when I handed him the phone she had hung up. Worst insurance ever. Shame on that woman. I wonder how many people kill themselves each day due to this terrible company that suppose to help people?! Taken on way too many patients and have not increased staff or facilities in years! I used to like Kaiser; it was a nice one-stop place. This past year, however, they appear to have taken on way too many new customers without increasing facilities or staff. It is a 3-6 week wait for any sort of appointment. That hasn't been the case in the past. If you have a serious problem, but not severe enough for ER, you have to wait in discomfort and pain. Need an urgent pain-relieving surgery and want to interview a couple surgeons? Wait another one month to interview a surgeon, then another month to interview a second surgeon, then another month to interview the third one. Then it's a 1-3 month wait for your surgery. By the time I can get into surgery, it is going to be next year and I will be enrolling with Premera. read more

I paid 400 a month for 2 years for health coverage. I needed to see a dermatologist and thought, I'm paying Kaiser about 10,000 dollars for two years of coverage so it's time I scheduled an appointment. 2 months later I show up for my visit, the doctor they scheduled me to see was a very basic doctor and not a dermatologist (despite telling them the reason for my visit, which anyone hearing would know I needed to see a dermatologist). He told me after about 3 minutes that I needed to see a dermatologist. No way? (Sarcasm). So he tells me the dermatologists are more than 3 months out to be seen by them and he could send them pictures of my skin to see what the dermatologists recommend. I said yes go for it. A few pictures later I was on my way to wait for a few more days to hear what they told him about the pictures he took. He tells me they recommend vitamin K ointment. So I go back to Kaiser and have them fill the prescription. I was warned this stuff can burn your skin and to spot test it. I did. Look up vitamin K this stuff will burn the f out of your skin. I put it on a few times, it burned my skin so bad I was worried about scarring. Luckily it didn't scar. So then I threw that crap away, and decided to just live with what was ailing me. Luckily after about 6 to 8 months it cleared up. Needless to say I dropped Kaiser Permanente from my health coverage and would recommend you do the same. As far as I'm concerned they gave me zero healthcare coverage despite all I had paid. Definitely not worth a penny let alone $5,000 a year. read more

The doctor, Granger, was an egotistical asshole. Never once asked what I needed or why I took certain prescriptions. As he came into the room, thumbing through my file, looks up at me and scofffs, "You're not getting these prescriptions from me!" After being on these prescriptions for ten years...I'm sure they are successfully working for me! Not a "nice to meet you" or "how are you feeling now?!" That was it! Then I received a survey and told them how I really felt....nothing. Well after he denied refilling my prescriptions for depression/anxiety, I spent the next week feeling helpless, unheard, and in bed with pain. I guess I have to wait until next year to see my previous doctor I loved. You get what you pay for....or in this case--you get nothing but bills. I also went to the eye doctor because I'd recently had surgery and my surgeon wasn't covered for my follow up. I went to their doctor and my examination wasn't covered. Just got the bill in the mail--WTH? What the hell does this old educator have to do to get my healthcare covered decently?! So disappointing but at least I've learned from this process. read more

I've had group health forever and worked right next to this building for many years. I love that it is large and close to the freeway. I am also a fan of the big parking garage that does not charge for parking like some of the other medical facilities in Seattle. Whenever I come here its easy to get a spot right by the entrance. This is not the location closest to my house so I usually only come here for things the Lynnwood location does not offer. This tends to be mostly eye care. I have always been satisfied with the service I have received and never had reason to complain. On my most recent visit I saw that they eliminated the check in people and are now using kiosks. I was very satisfied with how easy and painless this was, although confused about who I talked to if I had a problem. read more

After being treated like trash by a pharmacy tech last week for the last time hopefully, I would like to leave a review. The Pharmacy seems to be chronically lacking in respectful patient service-oriented technicians. She said that I was misinformed about what the doctor had told me over the phone. It took a member services representative to fix her mistake. The technician was the one that was misinformed, imagine that. The behavioral health department gave me terrible medications that caused horrible side effects. I've seen two other psychiatrists that have told me how sorry they are about the poor quality of medications & treatment I received here. I now know where else to go for actual medication management, and it is not here. Please go somewhere else or assert your rights if they are not treating you the way you should be treated as someone with medical patient rights that override their problem with treating us & our bodies like trash. read more

The walk in is decent, and reasonably priced, and I have had amazing doctors as well as some of the worst I have ever seen. My main complaint is Kaiser in general. I have been using Kaiser mail order pharmacy, and every time I have a new prescription I end up having to contact them and tell them I don't want to pick the prescription up in Everett, a two hour round trip, but rather please mail it. You might think in today's computerized world there would be a way to flag my prescriptions so that it was clear I wanted mail order as the first choice. UPDATE. After requesting mail delivery of a prescription using chat, the prescription was not delivered as requested. You might expect if there was a problem that I would have been notified. I was not notified. I don't need to talk to a Customer Service person who's job description is to read policies and say no. Or even someone higher up that wants to apologize in private. I don't need an apology, I can take my business elsewhere, if this problem can't be fixed by Kaiser. This discussion is in public view. No medical details need to be mentioned, so don't hide behind privacy rules. Tell everyone what you are going to do to fix this specific problem for everyone. Not just for me. Everything is managed care these days and that hasn't really proven particularly beneficial to patients. I grew up being a patient of Group Health, which was recently purchased by Kaiser and found it to be a very eye opening difference when I reached adulthood, got my own insurance and used other healthcare. Don't get me wrong, healthcare in general has devolved into a pretty terrible experience but Kaiser is a standout in a pretty significant worst-of-the-worst competition. One standout annoyance are their in-house pharmacies. I was amazed as an adult to realize that my doctor could call my prescriptions into Walgreen's and I could just pull up to a drive-up window and get it in under three minutes. At Group Health/Kaiser, you can be on site seeing a doctor, have the doc send a Rx straight to the in-house pharmacy via computer, walk to the pharmacy and take a number, wait 10-40 minutes to have your number called, walk up to the counter and have the pharmacy tech look at their computer to confirm that the prescription was actually sent to them and then be sent to sit and wait another 10-40 minutes for them to call you back up to finally get the Rx. Re-freaking-diculous! They seem to be hiring their pharmacy techs straight out of DMV castoffs as well. I've received more notably rude customer service from the Kaiser pharmacy than from any other single entity. To be fair, the service seems to have come up a bit since Kaiser took over but I still see techs whom I've had past run-ins with glaring at me when I'm there picking up prescriptions for my parents. My Dad is a military vet, retired civil servant and Alzheimers patient and Group Health was his only option. My mom is a retired school teacher with severe dementia/brain damage and I care for them. It is a daily fight just to get basic care for them and getting a service like a worker to come by once or twice a week to perform a visual health analysis and help them bathe has been 100% impossible. We did manage to get that help for a one month period after a particularly significant health scare with my mom and what it turned into was me getting almost daily calls at work bugging me about one thing or another. It felt like they were trying to justify their existence with observations and recommendations and they didn't care that i was trying to work. It was extremely frustrating. The standout are their doctors. For the most part, I've been very pleased with the doctors who have cared for my parents and the nurses who work with them. Sadly, they're great people stuck in a bad system. I think a lot of them flee at the first opportunity. I know I never had the same doctor for more than a couple of years at a time as a kid and I think my dad has had to change doctors at least a couple of times since I've been caring for him and my mom because people have left. My bottom line is that you should avoid this place if possible. It's not worth the aggravation or cost. We can't even renew prescriptions that should just auto refill until a few days before my parents are completely out. My healthcare provider sends me three months at a time and they're usually there a couple of weeks before I run out. My parents only get one month and you can't even request a refill until you have less than a week left. read more

I have never written a review anywhere prior to this. That's how bad this is. I used to have Premera and cannot believe I made such a terrible decision to switch. I should have realized that when the payer is also the provider you are going to get professionals who are more focused on saving money than providing care. Went for a physical. Didn't get blood work. Asked why and the GP said they don't usually see a reason to check blood work on people who appear healthy. Blew my mind, especially since I know I have high cholesterol. Asked him to do blood work and he ordered it, nut I shouldn't have to ask. A couple theories here are that they want save money by not doing bloodwork, or even worse they don't want to discover something they then will have to treat. Next issue is I hurt my back in the gym. Like a legit injury, either a herniated disc or potentially a torn ligament. We'll never know. He refused to do an MRI and said lets start with Physical therapy. Fair, ill go that route. But they need to get the referral approved. 2 weeks later it was denied and I had to call the doctor back. He didn't understand why and made the referral again. Mind you my injury is untreated and far worse at this point. Finally get into physical therapy, 2 weeks later nerve pain develops and my foot is now numb. I call the doctor refuses to do an MRI and says I need to see the spine specialist. They call to schedule, and it is 7 weeks out. Meanwhile my foot is numb and things seem to be getting worse. On my first visit he took an xray and noticed an 11mm object either in my Kidney or Galbladder. Asked if we should take care of it and he says no. I ask why he said its not causing pain so no reason to deal with it. Now I ask him shouldn't we at least figure out where it is? After some discussions he finally says yeah you're right we should schedule an ultra sound. Because if it is in the kidney then we know at some point it will have to pass. Problem here is that I have a prior opiate addiction and cannot take pain meds. So waiting until I have severe pain and surgery is not an option for me. So I call back and say hey cant we just blast it and Ill pass it without pain meds. He says yes, that's a good idea lets do that. So now I am my own doctor. It would appear that having the payer and provider under the same name is a severe conflict of interest. They seem to not want to provide services beyond the basics unless you really press them for it. I have their most expensive plan available on the individual market as well. Spend the extra money and get something else, Kaiser is not the place you want looking after your health. The actual doctors are nice but it would seem they are stuck between being providers and being loyal to their employer. read more

CRUEL TREATMENT OF PATIENTS I had a biopsy on a Tuesday in Everett WA. Actually, I had TWO biopsies as they flubbed the first one, so did a second one. The doc was pleasant enough. His nurse assistant had no empathy for a patient having a very uncomfortable and painful biopsy. I hurt and bled for 4 days afterwards. The doc promised to call me as soon as the report was available. I called Friday morning, and the care team staff told me the report was posted Thursday night. But they couldn't tell me what it said. They left a message for my doc who was in that day. No call from the doc all day. I called again late in the day, but the office was closed. Then I called the on-call nurse line. The intake receptionist was very close to rude as I explained I was still bleeding and wanted the results of my biopsy. I waited over 15 minutes to talk to the nurse. She asked 101 questions and tried to reach a doc. No luck. The nurse called me back twice, but the on-call doc NEVER CALLED ME me despite being pinged multiple times. The nurse can read my report but can't tell me what it says. What good is an on-call doc if you can't get a response? The results of my biopsy have been available since Thursday night. The doc was in on Friday but never called as promised. He is off for the weekend and isn't working on Monday. So I have to wait for a phone appointment on Tuesday afternoon (subject to his availability - no guarantees) to find out my results to see if I have cancer or not. My mother died of cancer. I was her caregiver. Nobody at Kaiser gets that this is a very scary thing for me. They don't care about my physical or mental health. I have always felt like a number at Kaiser. I am a patient number - which is the first thing everyone asks you. They don't ask your name until at least question #3 after the number that is your birthday. I am also a monetary number. It cost me nearly $2,000 out of my own pocket to make the appointment and have the biopsy on Tuesday. My Kaiser insurance doesn't help with one penny because my premium is $575/month with a $5,000 deductible. I have to spend about $14,000 of my own money before I can hope to receive any help or benefits. You would think that my doc would keep his promise to call me or that someone at Kaiser would notice that it is just plain CRUEL to have a biopsy report available on a Thursday night, let a patient to know it exists, and keep her waiting without an answer not only for the weekend, but into the following Tuesday. Managed care? Managing to care about everything but the patient...... read more

What I like about GH? Pharmacy is always pretty quick and always polite. The ladies in the lab are always quick and friendly. Getting my mammograms are always done quickly and by great staff every time. My dislikes about GH hate check in up on the second floor. They are usually talking to each other and ignoring the patient that's standing there wanting to check in. The nurse in my Dr office is never the same one. Quite a few of the nurses come into the room and don't even make eye contact with you. Think we are going to switch insurance this year. read more

The pharmacy here is the worse I've ever dealt with. I went in Friday for an appointment and was prescribed two medications. I was in and out within 15 minutes. I didn't realize until I got home that they only filled one script and by then they were closed. They ended up emailing me that they filled my second prescription 7 minutes before they closed for a holiday weekend. My husband went to pick up my prescription and he's been waiting for almost an hour. How is that even possible? I even asked my provider three times to fill it at Safeway and they sent it to their own pharmacy instead. I'm extremely disappointed in their pharmacy and their overall health care. I have to say I'm a little surprised by some of the negative reviews. I mean going to the doctor anywhere is a pain and I suppose Kaiser P. isn't much different. But my experience has been positive. I have only had the insurance with GH/Kaiser for a couple of years but went in recently for a physical. The doctor, did a quick look see and said he thought I was healthy but he wanted to do a CBC (complete blood count) which we did that same day. He emailed me later and said my there was a minor concern (not his words) in my blood count and he was referring me to a hematologist. Long story short, I have a treatable condition that wouldn't have been discovered without a CBC. I have had a physical two other times at other places but they only checked my blood for sugar and cholesterol. So kudos to Dr. O'Campo for ordering that test. Once I was seeing the hematologist, he was sensitive to my needs and to the fact that I had high deductible insurance. He only ordered tests when I gave the okay. In the end I got a bone biopsy which was so professionally done that it was less painful than going to a dentist. I will say that the only problem with the hematologist is that his office is in Bellevue. So while the jury is alway out, and I could change with some bad service, I feel like KP has been pretty positive. I also like that my lab tests are done and up on your dashboard the same day. PS., it does sound like the pharmacy can use some help but I don't get my prescriptions filled there. read more

I've had Group Health/Kaiser for over 15 years now, and have never had an issue. I love that I pay my co-pay when I check-in, then that's it, no matter what tests or departments I'm sent to, other than pharmacy. As for the pharmacy, it can be slow because they tend to always be busy, but once you have your prescription, their online mail-order option is awesome! I order online and within a few days, my meds come right to my door. I've had everything from sinus infections to pulmonary embolism, which required 2 hospital stays, and again, all went well, never a bad experience. I highly recommend Kaiser Permanente. read more

Everyone do your self a Favor, go down to costco, get a brand new membership ($55) Get their eye exam ($80), get their top of the line glasses and lenses ($160) and save your self a bunch of money. I've had nothing but positive experiences there. The wait times have been less than at all the other places I have been, the lab is fantastic and gets the results to you quickly, scheduling is very helpful and when I was unable to get an appointment quickly with the in house specialist they let me schedule with my old doctor (not in house but still contracted). All the doctors we have seen have been friendly and seemed very knowledgeable. And they listened. I never felt rushed. I have not yet tried the walk in clinic because I have been able to get appointments when needed. read more

We joined Group Health in 2013 and we were extremely happy with the care and service a. Of course, at that time we had no real health issues. Annual check-ups and minor illnesses were all we had. There was only one real situation that irritated me and I just chalked it up to lack of bedside manners on the doctor's part. She had called and left me a voice mail stating she was dropping me as a patient because I had not responded to her offices messages. I had just talked to her two days before, office staff too. But to me that wasn't a real biggie. It did not affect my HealthCare. Then my husband and I started to have a few health issues. My husband went to go see his regular doctor about some knee pain. It turned out that he had cartilage build up that needed to be scraped off. The doctor he was seeing in Everett pretty much blew him off as if it was not important enough to take care of, like my husband was just supposed to suck it up on the pain and deal with it. It took five visits for him to be able to get his knee taken care of. That was just to get the surgery scheduled. Every time was a specialist co-pay. With me, it took almost $500 of seeing specialist for my eye that needs surgery but they were waiting for ......not even sure. I got so many stories I am not sure which one was accurate. I needed the same surgery over 20 years ago. At that time, we lived in AZ and it took a total of 5 visits to get it done. Two of the visits were post op. Group health, 15 specialist doctors' visits @ 30 a pop and I still have the same problem with my eye. I have to use drops in my eyes for the pain that I would not have had I had the surgery. Today, well it was the icing on the cake. I had submitted a request for my husband's high blood pressure medication two days before we planned on picking it up. When we went to pick up the prescription there were a ton of people there waiting to do the same thing. We waited for 47 minutes before getting called to the window. Once we were at the window we were told by the person that they did not fill the prescription that we ordered two days ago because they did not have a 90-day supply, they only had a thirty day and asked if we would like that instead. We were baffled. No one could pick up a phone in the past two days to let us know or to ask that question before we came to pick it up. Now it was going to be another thirty-minute wait. We ordered ahead of time so we would not have to wait. I asked to speak to a manager and was told by another person, a little on the snippy side person, there were no managers there on Saturday and that we should have plenty, enough for 42 days at home anyway and insinuated that we should not be upset because it was not an emergency. I said I don't care what your computer says, we only have enough for two days, meaning he will be out come Monday morning. After digging a little further on the computer, she realized that when the doctor submitted the order for the medication the system took it as being filled. Not her mistake but her attitude that filling my husband's prescription was not an urgent matter irritated me. What if it had been someone she cared about? Really funny thin is my husband received an email while I was speaking with them that his prescription was ready. Really???? I firmly believe Group Health is only concerned with the bottom line, NOT the care of the patient. I would not recommend them for a Health Care Choice. We will not be returning in 2017. read more

Wow. It's starting to sink in how bad my new insurance is and it is worrisome. I was just called a few hours before an ultrasound to see if I would reschedule for another patient. Despite the fact that I am very busy and all of my doctor appts are quite a drive , I said sure. Then she told me they were looking at almost a month out. I said I couldn't do that as I am at risk for cancer and need the ultrasound asap. She should have just said ok, thank you anyway, and we will see you here. But she guilt tripped me. So awkward! I'm not really sure why that other patient was more important than I am. read more
