Wow. It's starting to sink in how bad my new insurance is and it is worrisome. I was just called a few hours before an ultrasound to see if I would reschedule for another patient. Despite the fact that I am very busy and all of my doctor appts are quite a drive , I said sure. Then she told me they were looking at almost a month out. I said I couldn't do that as I am at risk for cancer and need the ultrasound asap. She should have just said ok, thank you anyway, and we will see you here. But she guilt tripped me. So awkward! Every time I try to log on whether its on the mobile app or web browser, it says my user ID or password is invalid. that's completely not the case when I write down every account username and password I have. I literally have to request to change my user ID or password every time I try to log on and Im sick of it..... So worthless kaiser..... After LifeWise left Snohomish County my family had no other choice than to insure with KP. I was hoping to receive care equal to (if not better than) what I was used to with the Everett Clinic. No such luck. You can expect long waits, rude providers and an avoidance of any test, procedure or prescription that will cost the health plan money if they can get away with it. The provider service is on time and professional. However the Everett Pharmacy is universally loathed. They consistently lie about the time prescriptions will be ready and an hour long wait for prescriptions is not unusual. At least they know that people can't stand the system and they put out free water and snacks. Avoid the pharmacy at all costs. read more

My Daughters Dr. (Whitely) is nice, and very soft spoken to my child, but the staff is so bad that it's almost not worth the headache to get to her wonderful Pediatrician. I have been treated to hatefully when being connected with the Doctors office, receptionists answering the line with no more than "Yeah", or their name. Having no clue if I've been connected to the correct office, and when politely asking I get snapped at. I have tried to let this go, but this is every time I've been directed to speak with a nurse for a question in my daughters health. The Doctors there may be great, but the staff needs an overhaul badly. Even at check in I've been handled very rude. Also, there are constant issues with her chart. Recently, for instance, I'm no longer listed on my child's chart; I'm her mother. I get human error, but this is just getting silly. I've been a member here for 3 years, and in the past year it's starting to drastically decline. *Granted, this isn't the treatment with the customer service center, it's only when dealing directly with the office for her Pediatrician. The Customer Service Center seems top notch, but the office has some learning to do on common courtesy. read more

It took me awhile to find a provider I liked but after I did, I have been very happy. After I got pregnant in 2013 I met with Dr. Timothy Whiteley. He changed my outlook on doctors. I always had a hard time trusting them and relating to them. He helped me through my whole (first) pregnancy and answered all my questions and concerns. Never once has he made me feel stupid (I've had these incidents with previous doctors) and he makes me feel very comfortable. He delivered my son (I WAS SO HAPPY ABOUT THIS, he knew how important that was to me. I felt like he went out of his way to make me happy when in fact I know he was just doing his job) and is his doctor as well as my husband. I would recommend him to anyone I know. The reason for only 4 stars? His nurses can sometimes be rude and short with me. A couple of them I actually do not like seeing but what can I do? If that's the only thing holding me back from my doctor, I'll deal with it. The receptionists are kind and helpful. I had multiple questions about benefits and coverage while on maternity and they always pointed me in the right direction. Last thing....the parking garage sucks! :) read more

I used to love Kaiser Permanente, and have been a member since it was Group Health, for about 10 of the last 12 years. I've had the same PCP since I was 16 and I really like her. Overall, most of the doctors are nice when you can get in to see them. I do love my PCP, and I love the staff, which is why Kaiser got two stars from me. But my issues lie directly with Kaiser Permanente, and I guess I had never seen the issues until I actually had a real need for my insurance. I am pregnant, which is now requiring me to use departments I had never even thought of using before. The more I have to use Kaiser Permanente, the more dissatisfied I have become. Ultimately, I feel like there are "too many cooks in the kitchen." There is literally no reason that it should take a week of my calling Kaiser Permanente to get my follow up ultrasound to make sure that my babies spine is healthy because the ultrasound tech didnt have time to wait for the baby to roll over (she did give it a good effort for an hour though!). There is no reason I should have to call between Kaiser Permanente and The Everett Clinic several times during one day to iron out my referrals between departments because I was declared "high risk" at 20 weeks along. There is no reason that I should be having to advocate for my unborn child to receive the medical care she deserves. I haven't even asked for much: I just want the ordered tests and ultrasounds in a timely manner, and I want to know who my doctor is so I know who to contact in case of an emergency. I want to know who is delivering my baby. I want to know that my baby will be taken care of as a human, not a number. Sadly, I think Kaiser Permanente has taken the human experience our of their care of the patients they serve. We are not just numbers and we do have feelings, we do deserve to be treated as more than just the overweight high risk pregnancy, the baby inside of me is more than just a fetus and she deserves the best care she can get with the insurance I pay for through my employer. It is unacceptable that ultrasounds are booked out over a month out, and that it takes over a week to figure out that they need to refer out to another company because they dont have time to do a time sensitive ultrasound. It is unacceptable that I have to call in tears for the fourth time that day to get the referral to a new OB-GYN sent over again because I'm in limbo waiting to see who my doctor will be for my baby and her delivery and to oversee her care at 22 weeks and counting. It's crazy to me that when I got sick last week I had to call a consulting nurse who basically told me my only option was to go to a hospital for the stomach flu, or make an appointment to see a doctor 4 days later, which couldnt be my previous OB because she was booked out to the middle of next month, so I had to go to my PCP who doesnt do anything with pregnancy. So much for being able to see your doctor in an emergency, right? It's not comforting to be told that your doctors office is too busy for you. Too busy to look at the spine of your unborn child in a timely manner, too busy to see you when you're sick, too busy to talk to you because you're mid-referral that never got finalized, too busy to squeeze you in for any care despite the fact you're paying for it. I am left advocating for myself and my unborn baby, praying we dont miss anything critical while I now wait and hope for the best. It's really just a shame that the human experience has been removed from Kaiser Permanente. read more

I've been with "Group Health" since 1967. I and my family of wife and 4 children have never had a bad experience. I've never had an appointment canceled nor had to wait a long time for needed service. So far under Kaiser Permanente, I've no complaints. As for eye care, it's $10 co-pay for an optometrist and $35 for an ophthalmologist. You can take your prescription to anyplace you like for glasses. read more

Run from this clinic and find another provider if at all possible. Prior to Kaiser taking over, they were "Group Death" as we call them in Everett. Takes about 15 minutes of standing in line (you cannot sit) to pay co-pays, and then expect at least an hour wait to see a clinician of any kind. They always apologize in a really breezy, casual manner. "Sorry, it took so long!" Their member services reps cannot help you with anything most of the time, either. This is a cheap, crappy clinic that local employers love for its low price delivery of "care", and nothing else. If you require ANY "special medications" you have to telephone a clinical pharmacist there, who only have voicemail, and do not return your calls. You can't see a physician UNTIL YOU DO THIS, and you cannot get it done. You cannot fax or bring in a list of medications, YOU HAVE TO SPEAK TO THE CLINICAL PHARMACIST. Good luck! read more

Since Group Health sold out to Kaiser, quality of care at this medical facility has plummeted. They obviously are now trying to serve WAY more people than they have the staff or services available to handle. I am in there often, and the staff there are very frustrated by it also, they have admitted it to me when I have asked. Communication with my Dr's office is next to impossible. No one is ever available to take my call, so I get rerouted to some place not even at that facility. They take a message, and say that someone will get back to me before the end of the day... And then no one calls me back. I used to be able to stay in touch with my dr's office by email, and would hear back with 24 hrs... Now, often times it's up to a week before I hear back, sometimes not at all. And the pharmacy! Ridiculous... No way a person should have to take a number and then sit for 45 minutes, just to pick up a script refill that was called in a week ago and has been sitting on the shelf filled for 3 days! In conclusion - All I can say is, this is by far the WORST insurance and medical coverage that I have ever had. I wish I could give zero stars read more

We took our infant to the ER on a Saturday for a fever and the doctor felt her stomach, took her temp, and sent us elsewhere within 5 minutes. Dont waste your time taking your infant to this E.R., just go to Seattle Childrens Hospital directly. We learned our lesson. On the plus side, her regular pediatrician at this hospital is top knotch. They just dont serve infants in the E.R. read more

My husband is an older adult who joined this spring and we have had nothing but positive experiences at each encounter: lab, hearing, optical, physical therapy, specialty medical, pharmacy, and with his assigned PCP, of course. His new physician was very thorough and patient and good with follow-up. The receptionists are always friendly and helpful, too. As a caregiver, I was connected with community resources without having to ask about them. My husband has always had private care through traditional 80/20 insurance coverage before and this is his first HMO experience. We could not be more pleased with the holistic, thoughtful care we are receiving from Kaiser Permanente. read more

Group health has always been on the for front of technology and were one of the first to offer a mobile app that made my life easier. It's not perfect but I am so grateful for how good it is in so many ways! It is hard to see my PCP and specialists when I need to. Continuity of care is important so I think they are somewhat understaffed in providers. However, they work in teams so usually have a good idea and certainly all the info about you in their system for any provider to access. Everything else is really great! To be charged over $200 for a regular appointment and you already paid your copay and you had nothing done but have your blood pressure checked. This company is a scam and shame on them. I wish I could give 0 stars for how the nurse gave my baby her shots. She shoved almost all of the oral vaccine in her mouth at once and made her throw up. Then went right away and stuck two needles in her legs while she was crying and hurt her. Thankfully I don't go here anymore and I went to another doctor and my baby didn't even cry during her shots. My husband has a rare genetic disorder and we cannot get KP to approve an out of network visit to the specialist at UW that sees people for this specific disorder as Kaiser does not have a specialist for this disorder. I been going here for past 3 years and switch around to 4 different physicians and somehow I still can't find a physician I can trust. 2 physicians prescribed me medication that madeul my tongue swollen and extremely fatigue for a week. This place is a joke. I can't change my health insurance and wish I could because I would in a heart beat. This place turns you into an animal so they can experiment on you, this place should learn to treat you as a person. They should listen and understand you but they do not. No service is really perfect but this medical provider is better than 4 stars. I've been client for more than 10 years and have had bad experiences in the past. They have significently improved in nearly all areas, pharmacy, family practice, administration, professionalism, courtesy etc. Doctors and nurse practicioners are highly skilled. Quality of service is consistent over several years. They have seriously focused on improvement and almost always follow up with indepent, 3rd party satisfaction surveys. Wait times for appointments, lab work is low, 10-15 minutes. Appointments for routine care can be weeks but for current/new problems, same day or less than a week, but possibly with nurse practioner, who are exceptionally qualified. Walk-in care available any time. Team work good, staff communicate well. Coordination with mail pharmacy had room for improvement, but it has improved. Organization's policies are a bit rigid but have adapted to newer practices (cbd oil), but policies are well communicated to all staff, and consistently applied. I can be blunt and disagree with my doctor without damaging good rapport, or prejudlicing my treatment. Pretty good medicine. read more

This is our first year with Group Health after changing positions. I couldn't be more disappointed with the service level provided. My child often waits for 2 hours for service. (Yes, this is a scheduled appointment) Anytime they must have shots, we watch person after person (usually adults) come and go receiving their shots before event though we arrived before them. Its been an ordeal just trying to get a vaccine. I talked to three different people on the phone about it being covered. One told me I couldn't get the MMR vaccine unless a doctor wrote a note saying it was medically necessary, even though I needed it or I'd be excused from work for a week and a half. The third person was the one who corrected the misinformation and told me I could schedule anytime to do it, which I did for the next day. I had a 12:10 and wasn't seen until 12:50. Apparently my name was called multiple times, but being on the same floor at check in, and then in the waiting room while they did I never heard my name once. I'm extra annoyed because they know it's work required, and I need to get this paperwork back to my work by end of day or I can't go into work. I figured since this is now Kaiser instead of group health it'd have improved service, but no. Not happy. Will not continue insurance here. read more

Mammograms are no fun! But since they are a necessity for preventative care, I recommend KP. I have had many mammograms in my long life, but the experience at the Everett Kaiser location was one of the best. The staff kept the schedule on time. My husband and I recently switched insurance which meant we needed to find new doctors. We were totally happy with everything at Everett Clinic and both liked our doctors. So far our experience with Group Health has been "meh". The one thing that really set me off was a conversation I had over the phone about a week ago. My husband was in an accident a few weeks ago and had a collapsed lung, broken ribs and cracked sternum. He has been on strong pain meds like oxycodone and morphine and has been kind of out of it--either excessive tiredness and sleeping or being kind of incoherent. His doctor called him and left a message that he needed to come back in for xrays ASAP because they still see fluid in his lungs and he needed to make an appt with his doctor to be seen the following week. I come home and he tells me he was on the phone for 1 1/2 hours trying to make this appt which was not true because I can see via our phone records the call was only 20 minutes so I am guessing it's the drugs talking. He tells me his appt is with his doctor next Tuesday at 2:10. Then Monday he tells me the office calls him about something else and he says he's seeing his doctor the next day and the rep says that the doctor isn't even in the office until Friday. He says to me "That's weird because I have an appt with her tomorrow". He tells me this and I am wondering if he has everything confused due to the drugs. I ask him again if his appt is at 2:10 tomorrow and he says yes. I need to take a half day off of work to take him because he can't drive with his pain and on the drugs. The next day at work I text him to verify that the appt is at 2:10. He texts back "No it's at 2:40". Okay at this point I am not even sure if he has an appt so I call the office myself to make sure. I get on the phone with someone and I say "I just want to verify that my husband has an appt today". She says "I can help you with that". She asks for his ID number which I don't have on me so she then asks for his name and birthdate which I give her. She then tells me "I'm sorry, I can only give that info to him." Why did she say she could help me and then tell me she can't tell me anything?? I understand that there are HIPAA policies in place for privacy, but I'm not asking for his medical record, I simply want to know if he has an appt and if it's today or maybe it's NEXT Tuesday!. I explain to her that my husband is on strong drugs and told me he has an appt at either 2:10 or 2:40 today with his doctor but he was also told that the doctor isn't even in until Friday so I just want to make sure he does have an appt. She once again tells me "Sorry, I can only tell him, is he there?" No I am at work and even if he was here I would want to hear it for myself to be sure! So I didn't know if I was going to be taking 1/2 a day off of work only to drive home, pick him up and take him to the clinic and find out there may not even be an appt for him! I could have just as easily had one of my male coworkers pretend to be him and given him my husband's personal info in case they needed him to verify anything he would have gotten an answer as to if he had an appt, but yet, as his wife, I can't get any info! Turns out he did have an appt, but it was at 2:40 so I could have stayed at work longer, but instead we had to sit in the office for an extra half hour to make sure we were there for either a 2:10 or a 2:40 time. maybe I'm annoyed at how large of a facility this is, maybe Im annoyed at how much they rely in their computer program but I'm upset with how i was treated today specifically. I had an appointment at 10:45 this morning, was told to show up at 10:20. I checked in on time and then was told what area to wait in, everyone was complaining about long wait times so I prepared to be patient. I watched everyone who checked in before me come and go and then several patients after me too. An hour after my appointment was supposed to have started I tracked down the receptionist who signed me in, and my doctor had already left, they never actually checked me in. This appointment took me an month to get, and now I have an appointment later today with a doctor I've never met. im not sure how this problem could be resolved but I have serious issues with how everything is done online / through the computers and its so easy just to "Forget" a person sitting in front of you. Im 28 years old and have been in the digital age my whole life, I have no idea how patients from older generations deal with this. read more

Kaiser (Group Health) Permanente is the poorest health provider in perhaps the United States as they are only interested in billing and not healing. Not only do they charge patients a co-pay ($25.00), but when you leave the building they charge an additional $171.00 for the office visit - unless "they" judge the visit to be preventative! The patient, however, has no say in that determination. Although I had not visited Dr. Lenny Smith in more than a year, I scheduled a visit to have a hamstring pull examined "WHILE" I had routine yearly PREVENTIVE tests run, yet Dr. Lenny Smith did not refer to the visit as preventative and allowed it to be billed and not deducted from my $1300.00 a month health insurance policy. Dr. Lenny Smith is far more interested in cashing checks than caring for his patients. I do not recommend anyone have any dealings with any physician (especially Dr. Lenny Smith) or schedule any examines at Kaiser Permanente, as they are not interested in preventing problems only billing for their very poor service. read more

After a few years with Group Health, we are giving up & changing policies for next year. Even 2 stars is generous in my opinion. While we've had some ok experiences at other locations, Everett is the worst we've ever experienced for medical service as far as the ability to get answers or make appointments. I was seriously ill last summer & it was impossible to reach anyone or to make an appointment. I probably should have just gone to an E/R because we couldn't get out of the endless hold & wait & be transferred to someone in Spokane & then hold again & then leave a message loop. It took me over 4 weeks of trying to finally see my Dr. Then I was continually told different things by different people--we're talking important advice about drug interactions, etc, so that I never knew what I should really be doing. I felt like I got better information searching online. in addition, the pharmacy made several errors on some prescriptions & when we tried to get it fixed they seemed more interested in blaming someone else than just fixing the problem. When I told one Dr that I read an FDA warning & many articles saying that the 2 drugs I was prescribed should NEVER be taken together and in fact caused the very problem I had, he had never even heard of that advice. Now I'm trying to make an appointment for a recurrence of the problem & have been trying to reach someone all week & am again getting the "message loop". We pay a ridiculously high amount for insurance coverage we almost never use & it is horribly frustrating to be unable to talk to anyone on the rare occasion we need to use it. read more
