I don't come here often, but it's always been a simple process picking up a prescription. Depending on the time, it can take a while to get the prescription, but today I got here right before the rush (thank God). Pharmacists are quick and helpful. Never an issue with them. The pricing is good, but it really comes down to your individual plan. I always get the items I need and they never have any issues filling the prescriptions. Overall not a bad location, but I wish they were open on the weekends! Would be nice to have that change and I'm not sure why it's not open in the first place. Hope this helps! read more

I waited for 2 hours to get all prescriptions I needed for me and my son. Two hours for four prescriptions. One is not even available. I was on my third tri pregnancy lined up all the way to even to the Occupational Therapy department. Even if I had checked in, used the app for notifications. I was called, but asked to still line up again in the pick up line. There is even a KP personnel that called me. And yet, did not even told me that the other prescription is not fully covered by our insurances. Can you believe that. Too crazy. read more

The pharmacy rep just hung up on me, the patient, because I was upset that the Kaiser transition team got most of my prescription dosages wrong. I did not yell or curse - I was literally in tears of frustration. I have had to fight for the correct prescription every time and they don't care. It is a complete conflict of interest for an insurance company to run medical offices and pharmacies. The customer is not the priority. They will not answer so that I can fill my prescription and I can't do it online because the dosages are incorrect. I have tried calling 3 times and they will not answer. read more

Minus 10 stars would be a compliment. Good luck in talking to someone to fix an error they made. You call their provided phone number where you get a recording prompting you to call another phone #. A new recording telling you waiting time is 1 to 4 hours. Would you like a call back? Yes, please. So after hours of waiting you finally get a call. But no, no a life person but yet another recording praising their services and their wonderful website. Listened to this for about 15 minutes. Ten I hung up. One time I waited an hour in the pharmacy and they told me my doctor had canceled my description without an explanation. This made no sense as it was on a weekend and I didn't think that this situation would require a cancelation on a weekend. Following week I asked the doctor why he canceled. I was checking pharmacy hours for the Kaiser Rancho location and see they only have a 2.5 star overall review. That was very surprising. I've utilized this pharmacy's services for a number of years and have never had an issue, ever. There is rarely a line to wait. Usually, I'm in and out in a few minutes. The pharmacy techs are friendly, helpful, informative and did I say quick? There has never been an issue getting a script or an issue with the script itself. Terrible! This Pharmacy Rancho Cordova International drive is the slowest Kaiser pharmacy I've been to which creates long lines. I've been a Kaiser member for more than a decade and have been in this location for years and it is still slow. Feel sorry for the elderly and disabled costumers who are waiting in line. read more

It's nice not having to drive all the way to my neighborhood pharmacy & wait 45min while they process my request. Dealing with Kaiser is awesome. I had several different insurance carriers before and they are by far the most helpful and friendly and caring. When I picked up my prescription I noticed that because of the "Affordable Care Act" my price had doubled for my prescription. The lady behind the counter was nice enough to suggest a generic version for me and also recommended that in the future I could even check with a different pharmacy outside of Kaiser in order to save even more money. The only reason I doctor them a star was because at this particular location I went here yesterday and they had already closed by the time I got here which was at 6:00 PM. i got ripped off my re-ordering a prescription from Kaiser on-line pharmacy. I re-ordered Jublia toe fungus treatment on-line. I've been ordering this for years at $20 per order. On the site, I re-ordered my prescriptions and also ordered Jublia. I got a response that one of my orders required research. I eventually received all of my orders. On my credit card statement, I noticed a Kaiser Pharmacy charge for $760.63 which I thought strange. So, I disputed the charge. Due to ID thefts, the credit card company cancelled my card and is sending me another. Today, I opened the bag with the Jublia, and find that it was this order that was the $760.63. I called the on-line pharmacy and was told that the Jublia is no longer in the list of approved medications for Kaiser so that is why the higher charge. They said they call when the prices go up. They said they tried to call me, and no response (I doubt). Their procedure is if they try to call and no response, to mail the prescription as long as they have a credit card to charge to. No mention on my prescription list that the product is no longer covered, no email, no nothing but a large bill. I called the on-line pharmacy, they referred me to member services, who referred me to Grievance line, who took my verbal grievance and referred me to KP.org. What a run around. Kaiser sends me emails on everything, they get sued and pay, but do not inform members of drugs that were previously approved that they are no longer approved. Kaiser Senior Medi-care gets 5 star ratings? Doctors are good, but the one-line pharmacy is a rip-off. I am not paying but just making others aware of the practices of Kaiser. From $20 to $760.63 with no notice? Why didn't they just refer me back to my doctor? After over 50 years, I am considering moving from Kaiser. read more

I had a great experience at this place today. I'd not used Kaiser in *years*... a long, long time, but when I called to set up an appointment with my brand new policy, they still had me in their system and assigned to my former doctor. Score! I only needed a script recheck and refill, no biggie, so I could wait a little. But my original appointment almost 3 weeks away, they called me this morning and offered me a cancellation this afternoon. When I got there, everyone was pleasant, people were in a good mood and before i even had my copay paid, the nurse came out to say the doctor was ready for me. I swear, my appointment was at 3:50pm and I was seen by the doctor, had my prescription filled and was home on the couch by 4:58pm. There was some confusion in the pharmacy, but you know, it was so minor. And everyone was in a good mood about it, so it was almost non-existent. I'm really surprised. I don't remember Kaiser being this good when I was there before. It appears they've not only hired a good marketing team, they've really followed through internally. Kudos, Kaiser! read more

I'm recently back with Kaiser having been with Cigna for the past few years due to a different job. I needed a prescription transferred from CVS to this Kaiser Pharmacy since it's close to where I live. I've been in OB for nearly 5 years now and had no idea that Kaiser was so close as it's tucked behind a few strip malls off of Midway. It took two calls to get the Rx transferred because the phone rang for quite some time without being answered. When I got someone on the line, they had told me my Rx would likely be ready by Monday since I had called so late on a Friday. She suggested that if I didn't receive a call by Monday noon to call and follow up. That following Monday I ended up calling to check on the status of the Rx and was told it would be ready by noon the next day. I came in around 4pm that Tuesday and there was no wait. I was able to go right up to the pick up line and was out the door less than 2 minutes later. I also signed up to have the Rx mailed to me each month so that I wouldn't have to go into the pharmacy. Pros: - It's nearby my home and convenient - When I did come in, it was fast service with no wait - Rx refill service can be delivered via mail without additional charge Cons: - It took 2 calls to place my Rx order since the phones appeared understaffed - Hours are only M-F, 8:30am -6pm read more

I love coming to this place for zyrtec generic. You pay $10 bucks for 100 10mg. pills and they work the same as zyrtec and helps me with my allergies. The pharmacy's the only place I've been here and it's nice and never crowded so you go in and out if you're in a hurry. read more

Most of the staff is pleasant and nice, however, i needed pills quickly for my friend who was in surgery. The lady said it would be 10 minutes. It was almost 20 minutes, and i asked her for a second time, and all she would say is that they " are working" on it. Just in a very uncaring way. I am pretty sure, they could have gotten my pills quicker, given that i was in a rush to get back to the hospital. If the drive was more than 30 minutes i would have raised hell. Instead i had to leave, pick up my friend, and come back and get the pill. A little bit of human consideration given the situation would have gone a long way. I cannot recommend anyone to kaiser. Also.. you HAVE TO use a Kaiser Pharmacy , you cannot go to Vons or Rite Aid or anywhere else... so they are not convenient at all, especially in San Diego with only 3 facilities for the entire county. read more

I normally don't write reviews but I feel I need to write this one. I am a new Kaiser member and after reading all of the poor reviews on this site from others, I was prepared for the worst experience at the Kaiser Point Loma Pharmacy. Most of the poor reviews appear to be from 2012 and earlier. My experience was simply great. Had a doc visit last Friday and he ordered meds for me and said they would be ready Monday. I went into the Pharmacy today (Tuesday) at 4:05 pm. The pharmacist asked me politely if he could help me. I explained my situation and he checked and said he would have to get my meds ready. He told me to wait and they would call my name. I waited only a few minutes and left only 12 minutes total time after I walked in, with all 6 of my prescriptions for a great price! This pharmacy has apparently turned around their customer service to great currently. This was far better service than I have received at any Pharmacy in San Diego before. read more

Nurse Practitioner Ann Cooper was hands down thee least helpful medical professional I've ever come into contact with. Just told me I had the flu and goes "There's nothing I can do for you, but just keep drinking fluids, etc.." And basically shooed me out the door when she stood up first and held the door open. On the other hand, Amber at the front desk who was working the AM shift was fantastic. She ushered me right into the waiting room regardless of my apt time. read more

I ordered my refill on kp.org, and stopped by on a Friday afternoon to pick up my prescription after work. Apparently this is a very popular time for everyone else, so don't be upset if they can't get through the line before they close at 6. Get there early! There is a check-in line and a prescription pick-up line. Make sure you get in the correct line so you don't end up waiting in the wrong one unnecessarily. It was very crowded, but the man in charge (Leo, I think his name was) was on top of it! I was seriously impressed. He was running back and forth handling both the lines, and multi-tasking like a pro. After I checked in he told me the wait would be 15 minutes, and I honestly didn't believe him looking at the line out the door. He was efficient, and remembered my name when it was my turn and noted to the other pharmacist that my prescription was already ready on the counter in the middle of explaining another woman's prescription to her. Every time I come here, it's crowded. There is usually only 1 to 2 pharmacists working and they are VERY slow. The oldest lady with glasses is always with an attitude. I had multiple experiences with this same person. Very unprofessional come on, pull your stick out of your ass woman! Don't like working with people? Get out of this job! Decent pharmacy, pretty busy but the people are polite. What others seem to forget is it's not open weekends, and only until 6PM weekdays. I've never had to wait any longer at Point Loma than I have at any of the other Kaiser pharmacies, and they usually have less people working and more of a crowd. I know being a member for 40 years that there are valid points in criticizing Kaiser Pharmacy but I want to make a recommendation for the best Kaiser Pharmacy that I encounter and do business and for me that will be Kaiser Permanente at Kellog Ave in Corona. Finally after a long search even though it is not my area I gave them 5 star especially Michelle of the Pharmacy Dept. I went to pick up my meds although it was a week earlier and she still took the effort of looking for it and when I explain that probably it was sent back to stocks which usually happened she took the meds in question and re-ordered it for me and was told to wait for my name to be called. It is amazing that after just 5 minutes my name was up and ready. I couldn't believe what I am seeing this never happened to me with other Kaiser Pharmacy but what more can I say except I salute Michelle and their pharmacy for making Kellog Ave branch a model to follow.
