Finally got to try this place as I unfortunately live quite far because I'd go more often for their lunch special. 2 half bowls of the dry ramen for the price of one makes it perfect to try different flavors. I ordered karaage to start as I chose the Homura and Curry dry ramen lunch special. thought the curry was fantastic and would order that again. Homura was good but the fishy taste is quite overpowering in the dish. It wasn't bad, just wouldn't order it again personally. The interior of this place is very open and clean. I appreciate the friendly service and they had 2016 carti and uzi blasting so this alone was fire.

First time at the new AZ location after trying it in Cali! We were really excited since it was so yummy when we had it before. We were seated right away. I was in a soupy mood so I actually got the to katsu ramen, despite the fact that they specialize in the soupless type. It came with one slice of chashu, and no egg. The noodles are different from the ones they use in their regular sobas, and the soup was pretty low in the bowl. Overall definitely not the worst ramen I've ever had, decent toppings, and nice flavor. The star here is the soupless ramens. On Memorial Day they still honored their lunch special, which is 2 half bowls of your choosing, for the price of the more expensive one. We got the curry bowl, and the homura, which was a spicy mincemeat sauce. I personally really liked the curry bowl, I dressed it up with chili oil and vinegar and really loved all the parsley that was included, it wasn't very salty so I thought the light curry flavor was really delicious. My boyfriend really enjoyed the other one, the flavors were more explosive and had an overall more satisfying bite. The lunch special was the perfect way to try two different ones! This is a sitdown restaurant, and there was only one server, but it was a small place. I'll definitely be back in probably will bring some friends soon!

First off, the service from Kenzey was excellent. She was very friendly and very attentive, always made sure our water glasses were filled. She was great! I met my friend for lunch here because I love ramen but never had Soupless Ramen. We met at 11:00 am, right when it opened. The vibe is modern, casual, fun murals. It has both indoor and patio seating. I ordered a beer while looking over the menu. My dish I got was the Nikumori Aburasobo (spicy minced pork, pork slices, green onion and choice of egg) and my friend had the Tonkotsu Ramen. To note: my friend does not eat pork so they were kind enough to substitute the pork with ground chicken. when the dishes came out the were hot and looked good. I thought my dish was OK, the poached egg was perfect, but the whole dish lacked flavor, was not spicy to begin with at all. I had to add a lot of hot oil to it, which I try not to eat so much oil. The noodles were heavy and by the time I finished, I felt I had a lead ball in my stomach. I think I'm just not used to eating soupless ramen... but I'm glad I tried it, but won't be back. My friend liked her Tonkotsu Ramen though. If you haven't tried soupless ramen you should and judge for yourself. Atmosphere: modern, casual, fun murals. Service: excellent. Food: OK

Kajiken Ramen Desert Ridge Soupless Ramen sounded intriguing Gyozas I believe came 5 to an order were good Wagyu Roast Beef was very flavorful, very full of different spices and combinations. After a while became kind of thickening, don't know if that was because of the yogurt, to almost to an overload. Have to say, got to the point where I could not eat anymore, so took home about a little less than half. I actually reheated it at home a few days later, added chicken broth and hom made Char Siu and the flavorful sauce was actually disbursed very nice and the broth was excellent. Kajiken Original was ordered by my daughter and she enjoy her selection, good and full of flavors throughout her meal. The restaurant is pretty good size, close to the AMC Theatres, very casual atmosphere and good service. I would come back to try other bowls.

I thought they did well in highlighting the raw quality of the individual ingredients, their flavors, and the sauces. I personally love their thick egg noodles and their mushrooms were great. The meat was okay, in both dishes they were a little firm/chewy, not as tender as expected. I really liked the wagyu dish though because the garlic cream sauce that came with it was so unique, so I'd recommend giving that a try. It was pretty filling too. I'd come back for it. We loved our server. Inside was trendy and clean. All I can say is, these are Los Angeles prices in Arizona and I'm not sure if we're ready for that lol. But overall, worth giving it a try! (Just be open-minded, it's very different from ramen and that's okay! It's not meant to be the same!)

Best ramen dishes!! Brothless ramen dishes that are so flavorful ~ no broth needed!!! From tender noodles, perfect potstickers (gyoza) and crispy chicken dishes, to amazing bowls and so much more!! The most attentive, friendly staff, that never rush you and help you pick out the best meal!! Very airy, super clean modern restaurant!!

The food was amazing!! We got the potato croquettes, the wagyu roast beef aburasoba and the tonkatsu ramen. The dry ramen was really good and super flavorful. My husband loved his ramen too. The server was really friendly and checked on us multiple times. The food also came out pretty quickly. The inside was nice and everything looked clean.

Lower prices and more food? Yes please. My partner and I enjoyed a huge variety of food since they were trying a lower priced menu, which brought us in. Great miso soup, rice that tastes like clouds, extraordinary ramen and so much more yummies. What else can a place provide? Chopsticks that are sturdy Plates that look Michelin star And some very helpful staff. I believe that if the owners change up the seating and refine this place that it could go far. Definitely a place to bring a friend or two and try every option imaginable!

We arrived and there was no one at the door to greet after standing there for a bit. We order off the iPad at the host stand and turns out that wasn't the process to be seated. Abura soba is a soulpless ramen with sauce instead. Once we got seated we ordered the original Kajiken ramen with char siu and homura ramen with minced pork. Our app was the chicken karaage. Soupless ramen was new to us but so glad we tried it. Both ramens were very flavorful. The noodles had the right amount of chew mixed with the toppings and sauce. The karaage tasted less crispy than others ive tried. It came with a seasoned mayo but there was a small jar of vinegar that the karaage tasted much better with.

We tried Kajiken at Desert Ridge and now I get why people like it. Abura soba is basically ramen with no broth, just noodles mixed with sauce and oil. Sounds simple, but it's actually really flavorful. I got the Kajiken Original. The chashu was thick and tender, the egg was perfectly jammy, and once you mix everything together, it's savory and very satisfying without feeling too heavy. It's a pretty good size restaurant, and the servers were nice and friendly. We went around 3pm, so it felt more like a tea-time snack than a full meal, which was kind of nice. If you're into ramen but want something different, this is a fun change. I'd come back.

Our party of 5 came on a Saturday afternoon to celebrate my aunt and uncle's birthday. It was a 30 minute wait list which was accurate. The host was rude when my aunt thought he pointed at a table for us- "Nope definitely did not say that but I can help you," and when we told him we'd joined the waitlist "Yep you joined 5 minutes ago." We asked about dining outside since there are tables and heaters but the host said they weren't staffed for that. The potato croquettes appetizer took a good 15+ minute wait and was also pricy at $8.50 for 2. Afterwards when our food was being brought out, my Wagyu roast beef was brought out first- a bit of a faux pas as dishes should be brought out together? Everyone except my brother opted to mix in the chili oil and vinegar- otherwise it was too dry. My husband's Homura was reminiscent of dan dan mien and I preferred it to mine, as the minced pork was "soupier." Overall it was fine. Nice to try something new, but I need broth!

Came by on a Sunday evening. Very busy as the waitlist was 2 hours. Finally was called to be seated and after reviewing the menu, it took awhile to put our orders in. It also took awhile to get our orders out. We get that it was busy and didn't greatly affect our overall experience. Notable appetizers included the Takoyaki and Potato Croquettes. Both were done nicely and were piping hot. For our Aburasobas, we went with the Kajiken Original, Nikumori, and Soboro. Each bowl was well portioned and well seasoned when mixed properly with the sauce at the bottom of each bowl. There is extra chili oil and vinegar at the table if you feel the need to fine tune the flavor. Overall, a nice experience with very friendly staff. Not really my type of ramen as my heart belongs to the broth version, but worth a try!

Stopped by Kajiken this afternoon with my husband and was thoroughly impressed! The restaurant is open and it is clean! Looks so nice on the inside and designed well. It's a very comfortable spot and the tables are big enough where you can have multiple food and not feel overwhelmed. We were seated right away and the service was quick! I feel like I barely looked at the menu and he was ready to take my order. They're on top of it! Once we ordered the food was out shortly after! We ordered the Nikumori and the Homura, both were delicious. We didn't have any to spare. No left overs! We devoured our plates. We highly recommend adding some chili oil and vinegar as it completely enhances the flavor! Those that think, "I'll pass on the vinegar," just add a little, you'd be surprised! The pics look good still but don't even do these dishes justice. Once you mix all the different ingredients together, every bite is heavenly! It's creamy, savory, with umami flavor! My husband left saying, "I don't think I'll ever need the broth again." Well done and if calories didn't count I'd be back tonight!

Was very excited about this place because I came from Seattle where I've had some of the best ramen and noodles. I was especially excited because the website talks about how these noodles are packed with flavor since there's no broth. We got two bowls to go: the one with curry and the one with ground chicken. Presentation and packaging for take out was nice and stayed good with travel. However, we were both disappointed by the food - it lacked flavor. I wanted salt, spice, umami, and we got bland. We both determined that we probably wouldn't need to go back. read more

My fiance and I have been eyeballing this spot since it opened. We finally went after valentine's day. The front service was helpful, polite, and quick to welcome us. We were seated within 5 minutes after arriving, asked for outdoor seating. It was nice weather outside and not too loud inside. Our waiter was quick and provided recommendations when asked. I ordered the curry ramen and miso soup, my fiance ordered the waygu ramen bowl and fried chicken for my toddler. Everything was delicious, please note that the ramen is brothless but the sauce coats the noodles very nicely, definitely NOT dry! We would go back and hopefully it gets added to ubereats. I only gave it 4 stars instead of 5 due to not having a kids menu or kids drinks (no kids cups). read more

I was so excited to try this place after seeing an Instagram reel of it on my feed. It was about an hour wait. We came on a Sunday night about 6pm. They're in their soft opening phase right now and it's right next to AMC theater and Cupbop at Desert Ridge Marketplace. I ordered the Kajiken original soba which has chashu and I added kimchi and a seasoned egg. I wish i ordered the extra chashu because it only has 2 slices. My boyfriend got the Nikumori which had spicy minced pork and pork slices. For the choice of egg which is included he got a poached egg which I really wish I got it looked so good. My seasoned egg was really small and just ok. I've never had soupless ramen before but this was so delicious! The noodles are perfectly seasoned and oily enough so it doesn't taste like you're just eating dry noodles with meat. For our appetizer we both got miso soup which was just ok. And for dessert we both really wanted the matcha cheesecake with ube ice cream but they were sold out. :( so we settled on the tiramisu which was absolutely delicious. Missed the mark for us - we ordered take out on a Friday night and it was very busy which is completely understandable for a new spot. Took about an hour from the time we placed the order to get our food but we didn't mind waiting. Ordered the tofu noodles and chicken noodles and both dishes tasted the same, except for the difference in protein. I did miss the broth as I felt like a mouth full of just noodles doesn't hit my ramen spot! read more

The service was great: we were greeted in a very friendly manner and our server was nice and attentive. The food took quite a bit to arrive even though the place was not full. Everything tasted ok - nothing to write home about... A good part of my noodles were one big hard cold ball - let's assume this is not the norm. I also had to add a good amount of chilli oil to get a kick. Another thing is their glasses - 8 or 10 oz tiny metal things... Soda comes with refills, but how many times can you ask a waiter for one? Please, get bigger glasses! This is a nice addition to the Desert Ridge mall, but, I think, once the novelty wears off, this will not be a star attraction. read more

I was so excited to try this place bc of a much needed ramen place in this area. Flavor was good but prices were a bit high for what you get. Ponzu karaage was just ok as the breading on the chicken was not super crispy and small portions for the price of $10. Original ramen was good flavor but egg was only half of one and it was slightly overcooked. I added cabbage for extra $2 which only a few strips of purple cabbage. I don't think I'll be back due to the overall value of the food. Service was great tho and ambiance is nice. read more

I love Kajiken! The Wagyu roast beef dish is amazing! The first time I had it, I had to come back the next day for the same dish. It's super tender, flavorful, and just melts in your mouth. I came here for lunch with my son and this might not be a fair review but here goes. I do t eat red meat or pork and I wasn't in the mood for mushrooms so I got the Bahn mi. My son got the waygu ramen and enjoyed it, once he realized he had to mix it all up. It smelled fantastic. I wish they had a ramen with poultry. My bahn mi was huge. A lot of sandwich for $10. You get a choice of chicken katsu or pork. The meat was so thin I had to ask the server twice if he was sure it was chicken because I could not tell. It tasted good, bread was crispy on the outside, soft on the inside with good fillings. The meat (whatever it was) was very tough and made the sandwich hard to eat. I would rather have a smaller sandwich with thicker, identifiable meat than a humongous sandwich with meat too hard to get through. So maybe go for the ramen and skip the bahn mi or the chicken katsu. read more

I'm honestly still thinking about this place because it completely flipped what I thought ramen had to be. No broth? I was skeptical at first!! but wow, the flavor absolutely speaks for itself. Every bite is rich, bold, and somehow even more concentrated than traditional ramen! That being said, I did notice they recently added a new ramen option that does include broth, which is really cool for anyone who wants a more classic take. It's nice to see they're expanding the menu while still staying true to what makes them special. I have to shout out Frederick, his hospitality was next level. The way he took care of us genuinely felt like stepping into a small town spot where everyone is just... happy you're there. Super attentive, warm, and welcoming without being over the top. That kind of service is rare and made the whole experience even better!This place is 100% worth checking out. We'll definitely be back with our fam! read more

Amazing service! "Q" was an amazing server and explained everything beautifully! Food was 10/10. Did not love the dipping sauce served with the Oroshi Ponzu Karaage, but that's a personal taste thing. Ramen was to die for!!! Takoyaki was absolutely delicious!! Honestly, the hot spice level did not taste spicy at all, so I would recommend going extra hot if you like spice. They also provide chili powder on the table if you want to add more spice yourself. The ramen broth itself could have used a tad more flavor. I lightly added some soy sauce to the broth which is something I often do to add a little kick. I loved all of the toppings included, from the green onions to the kikurage (wood ear mushroom). My favorite part was the pork chashu, which was really tender and delicious. I also appreciated that the ramen came with a full soft boiled egg rather than half an egg, and the egg was perfectly runny. Before leaving, we ordered their tea special that was buy one get one. We got a matcha milk tea and a cafe latte which I forgot to take a photo of. I felt like the cafe latte could have used a little more sweetness to balance it. Also, I found it neat that Nishikawa offers a rewards program, not something I see often at ramen shops. Visited Kajiken Ramen on a whim on a Wednesday night - a day after their grand opening. Service was quick and efficient, and our waiter Q was exceptionally attentive and kind. He brought great energy to the table and made us feel genuinely welcomed. We were seated promptly, parking was easy, and the decor was clean, modern, and inviting. The menu was also quite robust, with plenty of options to choose from. We started with the potato croquettes and the oroshi ponzu karaage. Both appetizers were crispy, flavorful, and well executed. The karaage came with a very generous portion of wasabi aioli, but honestly, we didn't even need it because the chicken stood well on its own. The croquettes were also very tasty, with a satisfying crunch and a lightly sweet sauce drizzled on top. For our main dishes, we ordered the Homura Aburasoba and the Original Aburasoba. For anyone unfamiliar, abura soba is a soupless ramen where noodles are tossed in a savory oil and soy-based sauce rather than served in broth. Both dishes were excellent. The Homura had a mild, pleasant heat from the Szechuan peppercorns, and the ajitama egg was deeply flavorful and perfectly marinated. The toppings were abundant and well balanced. The Original Aburasoba was just as enjoyable, without the spice, and the chashu was incredibly tender. The presentation was great too! Portion sizes were very generous. Important note for first timers: if you are specifically looking for traditional ramen soup, this is not the place. Kajiken was honestly one of the best ramen spots I've tried. The aburasoba completely surprised me, I didn't think brothless ramen could have that much flavor. We ordered the Wagyu Roast Beef, Tonkotsu Deluxe, Ponzu Karaage, and Takoyaki and every single dish was amazing. You can really taste the quality in everything. Definitely worth the Michelin recognition and a must try if you love ramen. read more
