We walk in on a Sunday evening roughly 7pm party of 2. The place was not busy, but steady. The hostess was very nice and accommodating, she sat us and advises our waiter would be with us shortly. Our waitress comes to us and takes our drinks and orders. She came back to advise us that they were out of the cucumber salad. I ask if she could add something to my order (I wanted to add an egg to my ramen, not on the side but in the ramen) to which she acknowledged. Roughly 10 mins later, a new waiter brings me out an egg in a bowl! I politely told him I asked for it to be in my ramen, not as a side. He looks at me as if I've lost my mind, then asks if I want it in a to-go box... why?? I told him a second time, that I asked for it to be on my soup, the ramen! He walked away. Another 15 mins goes by and yet another server comes and brings out our food. Everyone around us is getting service, like multiple times, but we have yet to see our waitress. We asked a 3rd waiter if we could get sauces, which he brings out. We eat our food, and guess what...? Still no waitress. We finish our food and had to ask a fourth waiter for a to go box, and finally our waitress comes out and asks if we need anything, to which I tell her, no, we've already been taken care of! She walks away with what seemed like an attitude. Brings our check. Another 10 mins goes by and we don't see her... every other table is gettin their service from their waiters/waitress and we don't. So we get up and pay for our bill, ourselves at the hostess table. Our waitress comes up to take our bill, doesn't say anything at all. No, I'm so sorry I'm waiting multiple tables, or hey sorry I'm working both inside and outside, nothing. Besides the less than par service the food was really good!! I visited JINYA about 3 years ago with some girlfriends and loved it so I brought my whole family back for my fiance's birthday. I forgot to take a picture of the crispy rice with spicy tuna but holy moly that was DELICIOUS. My partner got the black ramen and I got the garlic fried rice bowl and we were both very happy with our selections. The drinks were also very good (I didn't take a picture of my partners drink because I didn't think about it until after). The dragonfruit fizz had a unique flavor that I personally loved and felt like a more tropical type of vibe when I drank it. Able to finally check this place out. Great welcoming space where everyone who walks in is greeted in Japanese. Love the lighting, art, bar area, which is where I sat. I got their lunch special: Jinya Tonkotsu ramen & crispy rice. The ramen was a big bowl of pork broth, pork chashu, green onion, spinach, seasoned egg & nori. Their noodles is some of the best I have had, as was their broth. It really was delicious! I am typically not a fan of crispy rice but I will say that this one was really great. This review is a little bit late, I went there a couple of weeks ago- so I don't know if the same ramen I had is still available... Service was really great. The server was very nice, attentive and made sure things were to my liking without being overbearing. I went during happy hour, which I've never been here before so I didn't know they had one. That was cool. I got a Chef's Special ramen and it came with a Demon slayer soup spoon. Dinner with a gift? Take my money. I had a big enough dish to last for 2 meals and to be honest, the ramen broth tasted even better the next day. The noodles were cooked nicely, great texture. The matcha tiramisu? Meh. I'd skip it. I love matcha and each component itself was nicely done, but together it was just okay. (They do have it on their happy hour menu if you wanna taste it for less than full price). The cucumber salad was 10/10. I'd eat it every day if I could. Flavors were great, all complemented each other and you got thick chunks of cucumber so it could really hang onto those flavors. Even if you don't normally like cucumber salad, you'd want to give this a try. I asked the server about the salmon poke tacos. He said he didn't eat seafood but it was a frequently ordered item. Obvi I had to try them. So, the wonton shell had a nice crisp crunch to it. It wasn't so thin that it would fall apart easily, which is great for the messier people like me. Flavor-wise, it was a little flat for me, even with lime squeezed over, it was just okay. (Tbh I do have extremely high standards with poke, so keep that in mind). I got some extra stuff to go. They have a kids meal which I didn't get for mine, but she probably would have loved it. I just got her the spicy chicken ramen. When you get the ramen to go, the put everything on the side which is nice and give you a separate bowl of ramen so it doesn't change the texture on the drive home. I also got a regular pork chashu bowl. I didn't try it but was told it was pretty good and the bowl was empty. If you have a bigger appetite, you might wanna spring for something a little bigger. They have a regular size and a small size and it was apparently not filling enough. This is an adorable place to go for a date night. It's laid back, open kitchen, and the music isn't too loud. Came for restaurant week and been here a couple times as it a local spot for me . No complaints I typically get the vegan options and they are always yummy and filling . All the dessert a good and the vegan rice bowl and vegan ramen bowl very yummy. Always a solid experience at JINYA! I don't really change my order up too much- the tonkotsu black with thick noodles and the fresh pressed garlic is my go-to and it never disappoints. I will say though, I do notice some differences in quality between this specific location and the Chandler one. Not too sure what exactly it is, but I do prefer the Chandler one food-wise. My only qualm here is that for a chain, the ramen pricing is kind of expensive. Is it a really tasty bowl? Yes. Will I continue to come here regularly? Yes. But I do feel slightly guilty paying almost $20+ a bowl. I did notice this time that they had a great lunch deal, so I might have to opt for that next time. This place isn't bad. I was a little hesitant because when restaurants that want an upscale concept try to do ramen it's not always good. Clever Koi for example. The crispy tuna was very very good. I liked that. The rice was not too crispy or mushy and the tuna on top made it perfect and it was delicious. The shrimp wonton ramen I added tofu and mushrooms. It came in side bowls which was interesting but in a way I didn't mind. It was really good. I had thick noodles. I think I would've preferred thin egg noodles. The broth was not spicy an tasted very good. The flavor was there. The only thing is the wontons were not as impressive. Inside the wonton is just shrimp. There's no seasoning which made the wontons fall short. So it wasn't as enjoyable as the rest of the ramen. Our waiter was not bad. He was nice but a little too attentive. I stopped by Jinya Ramen for an early dinner after work. The place was not packed. They have outside sitting as well as bar and counter seats. I chose to sit inside the restaurant but the lighting was really dim and I had a hard time looking at the menu with the low light conditions. I know it's a bar but I think they should have better lighting conditions inside the restaurant. Moreover, I was shown the seat at the corner of the restaurant since I was by myself. That made it even harder to see the menu as it was furthest away from the door or any windows. Other than that, the food was great and the service was also good. But they had to lose a star from me cos of the poor lighting conditions. I may have been better off sitting outside, but my guess was that there could be other guests smoking when seated outside, which i wouldn't prefer. Lighting is too poor in the restaurant. read more

I occasionally add an extra topping or two, but the bowl as-is is perfectly satisfying and flavorful every time. It's the kind of bowl that keeps me coming back. Ramen has certainly come a long way. Right? I ate it in college for pennies, now I spend $20+ a bowl on it! Service & Vibe The staff is always friendly and welcoming, which makes the dining experience even better. We ordered take out from here the other day. I tried using the online ordering system, but it wasn't working and I had to phone in the order. The woman was nice and my food was ready in about 20-30 minutes! The parking lot is small but the restaurant looks like a fun place to eat it! I ordered the Tonkotsu Black and my husband did the Premium Tonkotsu Red lv 8 spicy. When I got home and mixed my broth with the noodles, I noticed that there wasn't a lot of broth. It barely covered the noodles. My husband seemed to have enough with his. I tried to call the restaurant back to see if they could help fix the situation but no one answered. The ramen was still pretty good despite the small amount of broth provided. My husband enjoyed his ramen and said the spice level was perfect. To much more and it would have been uncomfortable. As a longtime fan of Jinya, at the Studio City, CA location, I was very excited to find out that one of their newer locations had come to Phoenix. Let me say, the location is absolutely beautiful! Wonderfully accessible among other great restaurants, it provides the much needed asian taste that Phoenix needs more of. This restaurant is one of my top favorites and for good reason, the food is phenomenal. For the record, this place is one of my favorites because of the consistency of their food, no matter what location. Consistently fresh, consistently delicious. I love getting the appetizers, but this time around I just simply wanted a nice bowl of noodles. (If you are going to get an app, I do HIGHLY recommend either the Takoyaki or the Spicy Shrimp Tempura. As for my choice this time around, I went with Tonkotsu Black. Its perfect. Our waitress was quick and pleasant, making suggestions and checking in on us at the right times. My only issue with the whole experience is that the music can sometimes be a little loud, but that's not always the case. Everything else by far outweighs that little issue. JINYA hit the spot for ramen, and I would prefer this spot over Mensho any day. I am a huge black garlic ramen lover, so I was so excited to see Tonkatsu Black on their menu. The broth was so flavorful! It was not too thin from the oil, and the perfect balance of everything. The pork was not too fatty, the fried onion added a nice crunch, the seaweed is always welcome for me, and the egg was the perfect soft boil. As you can tell, I was a fan. My boyfriend has never had chicken ramen, so he tried the Chicken Ramen, and he thoroughly enjoyed it. He said it reminded him of chicken noodle soup in a way--an elevated, elite version--and he does love chicken noodle soup. He didn't even need to add chili to it because he liked it as is. The noodles were also well made! As a starter, we did do the "crispy fried chicken," which is essentially chicken karaage. It was very crispy with tender chicken inside, and it would have been even better if it came with a spicy mayo. Their prices are still fairly high ($17-18), but that's just ramen nowadays, I guess. Luckily, they have a happy hour special everyday (3-6PM), so the chicken was on that menu + the two lycheetinis were at such a good price. The drinks were strong, but I love lychee-anything, so I was a fan of it, as well. We sat at the bar on the outside patio, and it was the perfect balance of both sides of the restaurant. I did enjoy how we received service from the bartender, so we were attended to very thoroughly. For a Sunday around 3:30pm, it was also not too busy. 11/15/25: Cool place. The only reason it didn't get 5 stars was because the drinks were a bit tame (matcha lychee lemonade & kiwi sparkler), in that they did not have a lot of flavor. Flavorful, plentiful, and tasty. We ordered appetizers (JINYA bun, edamame, pork gyoza, nikuman). The buns were light & fluffy, the meat tender, edamame excellently salted. I do not like seafood so was a little worried about being able to find something edible for me; there was no problem. Substitutions are allowed, if not even encouraged. The JINYA tonkotsu black & pork chashu bowls were ordered. Both were wonderful. Desserts were the mixed mochi ice cream and matcha green tea tiramisu. I loved how the tiramisu came out in a small wood box. That was a first for me, & what a great way to stand out. Ambiance? Every time customers walked in the door, the staff shouted what I believe was something akin to "glad you're here"; when someone walked out the door, the staff shouted "arigato" (thank you). Restaurant has extremely limited seating, and it really needs to be in a place 2x the size for the people who want in here. The bartender with the Afro messy bun had a weird attitude when we requested to sit outside. He moved us outside with no silverware plates. My food came out, I asked for silverware, he proceeds to hand me chopsticks... being nice I opened them, tried to use them for 2 minuets. Struggled. I asked again, can I have silverware, he replied "so you don't know how to use chopsticks?" I replied that I just wanted a fork. Simple. He gave me my fork. I ate my food and I was ready to recieve the check. My friend asks for our checks. When he gave it to us we requested for it to be split. He then looks at me and asks me if I want anymore noodles. I said, "no." He replied, "d*mn you just don't give a f**k." Flabbergasted I said, "sir I don't know you, I'm done with my meal." He stated, "d*mn what do I gotta do for you." We've been here a handful of times now and each time the food is delicious. I have no complaints there. Tonight, though, left us feeling if we should ever come back. This is the most authentic tasting Ramen. I've had in the valley now. From the perfect straight thin noodles to the perfectly cooked soft boiled egg, marinated and soy sauce. This broth is so flavorful with the garlic oil is a perfect dish. My shrimp tempura were actually really good too super crispy and pretty big pieces. 1 star for bad service! We did not get waited on while seating at the bar where you can watch them cook. We tried to get someone's attention but no eye contact at all from the wait staff or the cooks. Roughly almost 15 mins went by and we just walked out, we told the host that after you sat us no one came by and he was shocked and just said sorry, so we left. Haven't gone back since, and sadly we go there for lunch a few times and I forgot his name, but great server. But this incident was in the evening, and it was a little busy hence why we didn't make a big deal about it at first, but close to 15min wait with no acknowledgement is crazy! read more
