The coffee was delicious and carefully crafted, but the venue itself was as good or better than the coffee! Staff was super friendly, the coffee was incredible and the menu items were very diverse and very affordable! I wish I lived closer. This coffee house would be a regular for me! The only minor issue with seating is most of the small tables are slatted, so I took a larger table for 4- 5 for myself to work on things I needed to write on. I tried not to stay too long and take up that extra space. They offered amazing gluten free baked goods from local spots. I visited Kala Coffeehouse while in the area. It wasn't very busy, so I was able to order right away. However, it took awhile for someone to acknowledge me. I reviewed the menu and I decided to go with the snickerdoodle latte, as they have a variety of flavors. They only offer one coffee size. The barista was helpful in making it to my liking by making sure it was sweet enough. They do offer seating inside but I got mine to go. In Mason for a competition and dropped by real quick between events. A little hard to find since it's in what appears to be a warehouse with several other places, but it wasn't too difficult once I got to the back parking lot. Very spacious inside and lots of seating. A lot of food options available, not much left in terms of pastries when I went, but it was 11am. I did get the maple sweet potato pecan loaf and it was quite delicious. Very straight forward menu. I do wish they had pour over available and not just drip as I'm not sure how long it's been sitting there. Got some anyway, and it was okay. Nothing great. Nothing bad. So behind a church off of the main road in a small (appearing) shop next to a gym is Kala Coffeehouse. You drive around to the back and it is the the corner of the L in the building. So when you come I will say things took a little bit for my order and they yell out your name. I got an Arnold Palmer which is odd for me as I normally get a coffee. But I wanted to try it. I had originally gone there because I knew they carried Paleo Primal's Valentine's doughnuts that I had wanted to get for my bible study for that evening. Thankfully they were stocked! I then decided to try one of their February specials, "The Chocolate Covered Strawberry Latte," which was SOOOOOOOOOOO FLIPPIN FANTASTIC!!! This is a recently discovered favorite coffee house of mine! Don't be fooled by the exterior. It's behind a church and next to a CrossFit location. At first I wasn't even sure if I wanted to go inside, because it looks so unassuming and the location is so different. However, this is an absolute hidden gem! Inside is a warm, friendly, and inviting space. Plenty of places to sit and work. The loft upstairs has comfortable chairs and couches and a long bar with lots of electrical outlets to work. I stopped here on a work trip based on the reviews and wow was it good. The cinnamon dulce latte was so smooth and creamy. I tried their overnight oats, which were warmed up instead of cold, but still good and I got to pick a couple of toppings to make them my own. The drink was delicious, not too bitter or too sweet, and the toast was very different; I am not sure I was the biggest fan, but I guarantee others would love it. The best part, as mentioned before, was knowing that everything I bought was helping a charity through a simple tip. It took 20 minutes to get a latte, a cold brew, and 1 piece of pb banana toast. My drink came out after at least 2 others' drinks who ordered after me. There was also way too much ice in the drinks. The latte tasted watered down by the time it was half gone. They asked if I wanted cinnamon on my toast and I said yes (that's how it is listed on the menu). There was no cinnamon on my toast. Overall a frustrating and disappointing experience. Not worth $16. read more

Kala is AMAZING! I wish their hours were extended - being open only until 5 makes it hard for me to ever get there, but WOW they are worth the trip. The first time I went I had the cashew coffee (drip coffee blended with salted cashews, sea salt and honey) which is my new all time favorite coffee drink. It's so creamy and delicious! I also had a paleo carrot cake donut which was delicious. The second time I went I had a golden milk latte with coconut milk and avocado toast with dukkah, a Middle Eastern seasoning. Boy was it yummy. The space inside is beautiful with string lights, succulents, exposed beams, couches, pallet wood, and even a conference room to work!
