Nørrebro vegan burger and other non vegan burger (forgot the name lol)

Great vegan options. The options are a bit more limited from 3-5 but they still have smaller snacks like fries and banana bread. For the brunch and dinner times they have some solid meal options. Good for vegans and non vegans. I got the nørrebro burger which is quite tasty.

Blueberry pancake with the dense texture of a scone
    Foodie E.

Came for the pancakes since they looked so fluffy and delicious in the pictures. They look just as fluffy and delicious in person BUT they were so dense that the texture was exactly like a scone. Now I love scones but I didn't order scones. I ordered pancakes. The flavor was good and all but I couldn't get over how the texture was nothing like pancakes. Also they barely gave any syrup. When ordering the pancakes just know ahead of time that they are not fluffy. They are dense like a scone. If you know this before ordering them, you will not be disappointed.

Brunch bundle: eggs (totally overlooked and taste blend), roasted carrots & peppers, and falafels, which were the best part!

My friends and I got two of the breakfast bundles, blueberry pancake, and a giant chocolate chip cookie. The two breakfast bundles (falafel and sausages): eggs were wayy overly cooked, sourdoughs are not toasted and cold, and the roasted veges were alright. Falafel and sausages were the only highlight but the portions were so little!!! Like two tiny sausage link and two bits of falafels! The pancake was alright! And the choco chip cookies were super hard. Four of us split and paid around $10.20 or 65kr so it was worth it for the price but don't think we will come again.

It's a lovely place so close to Nørreport, among those shady looking ones. I usually referred to Kalaset as the Swedish cafe, simply because "kalaset" means party in Swedish and that they serve a lot of different pancakes. To sum it short, Kalaset is a cafe that serves brunch, Cafe food and turns into somewhat a bar at night (they have long opening hours for that sake). It's a cozy cafe for sure and that said, the food is nothing special. Their brunch plates are still like the old yore where they mix a lot of stuff in your plate, and despite the bacon was really nice, it was kind of boring. The only positive thing about this place, apart from the address so close to Nørreport, so central, is the vegan / vegetarian option. If you have a vegan / vegetarian friend, this might be the obvious choice to go.

Homemade ketchup, vegan burger, potatoes and wine

I love the idea they have here. All the food they cook is straight from grandma's recipe book including homemade ketchup and sauces! I dined alone and didn't feel at all judged or uncomfortable which is always a major bonus to! I had the vegan burger and a glass of house wine, it came quickly but I enjoyed it slowly as I savored every bite. I love CPH

Brunch! Banana and Chocolate pancakes and MorMor plate to share

Quirky, fun place to have a delicious brunch! The decor is a mix of retro, hipster and a flashback to the 60's which gives a great ambiance and environment to a yummy meal. You MUST try their raspberry hot chocolate with marshmallows! If you try it and don't like it, I give you full permission to send me hate mail. It is typically pretty busy for brunch/lunch, but I have never had to wait more than 15 mins.

Saigon salad! Wow! I loved it!

Kalaset is a cafe that is a safe option for a meal any time of the day. It is located very close to Nørreport and is always full of people. Good also for coffee in daytime or beers in the afternoon/evening. To start with I would like to give 5 points for the service. The staff is friendly and helpful and they have a smile while doing that. You order at the bar, they bring it to your table and you pay in the end. And on top of that, the service is fast. The interior is charming, with numerous radios and stereos hanging on the walls. Candles on each table, various different pieces of furniture and a bit old style feeling. It's cosy and good for a chill evening for a dinner. I have heard their pancakes are the must try, but still hadn't had the pleasure. I had the Saigon salad which included ginger marinated beef and noodles. It was delicious, well prepared and filled me up. It also included a fair amount of beef, so good value for money. Definitely recommended to ginger lovers!

    The homemade iced tea

The food was pretty good. It was a bit slower than I'm used to, but the staff seemed like they were having a busy day. My friends and I sat by the second door, which let in a great breeze. I had the homemade iced tea, which wasn't great. It didn't taste like iced tea, but I'm sure there are a lot of people who would love it. It just wasn't my thing. Their homemade Nutella was excellent.

Found this place on yelp and decided to give it a try. It was a nice walk over the bridge from my hostel and wasn't difficult to spot. At first I was confused and didn't know about the self-service component. When I walked in, I told them it was just me so they gave me a table and an English menu. Once I figured out what I wanted, I had to go up to the end of the bar and tell the waiter where my table was along with my order. You have to grab your own utensils and if you order a drink, you'll have to wait by the bar for that as well. The food came within a few minutes. The iced coffee was extremely fresh and their carrot cake was delicious! Great food at good prices - I definitely would visit again.

    chocolate & banana pancakes
    Jaana S.

The atmosphere was very eclectic, very crowded and very overwhelming. I ordered the banana and chocolate pancakes...the chocolate sauce was heavenly and the pancakes were nice and fluffy. This place is pretty good but it was nothing special.

Very good, very cozy, really nice service! I had the vegan brunch plate which was pretty good. The vegan Nutella and blueberry jam were definitely highlights of the meal! The smoothie was also so good (and I definitely wished it was a bit bigger). It gets pretty busy in here so show up a little earlier for brunch to avoid waiting.

Nice place but not that much of choice. The food is great. It's kind of a family atmosphere.

The layout of the cafe is very cozy and dimly lit, a perfect place for vegans to socialize over lattes and food. We decided on their brunch platter and croissant sandwich, so we could share everything. I got a matcha latte and she got a regular one. The cashier was very kind, and she gave us her recommendations on what to try. She even spoke to me in English (although she didn't have to!). I also decided on trying out a pain au chocolat. Wow, just simply wow. Their pastries are still buttery and fluffy while remaining amazingly vegan, and their ingredients are high quality. The "cheeses" did not taste like plastic, no, but tasted similar to authentic cheese. The croissant sandwich was full of flavors and everything on the brunch platter was delicious. I especially loved how they decorated and seasoned the avocado (and it was ripe!) The matcha latte was a lovely wake up, especially after I had a horrible matcha latte the day prior. After about an hour or so, we were both eyeing their options of "cheesecakes" and decided on sharing a slice of their pecan option. After we took our first bite, my friend and I just looked at each other. The pecans and sauce complimented each other so well, and the vegan consistency wasn't too mushy! The breading was not too crumbly and each bite was Heaven. All in all, I am SO EXCITED to come back to this delicious cafe, as it was my favorite restaurant we tried during our stay in Copenhagen.

Thankfully, Kaf is in the same neighborhood. It is a vegan bakery! There are a few gluten-free pastries, namely the cakes. The place was small inside and it was packed. Dog friendly . . . Five stars for that! There is an outside seating area as well. We ordered some items and all were so amazing! On their Instagram page they are always posting about their vegan fastelvnsbolle and so we got some. It is basically a cream puff the size of a child's fist. Oh my, one of my faves from Denmark. The vanilla whipped cream inside was so light and not to sweet. The dough did not get soggy. On the contrary, the bottom of the pastry was crunchy and sweet. Almost like the bottom of an almond croissant. I also recommend their vegan, raw cakes. Deep rich chocolate is involved, yay!

The market, I ordered the Oat Porridge which came with apples, roasted almonds and caramel sauce, my mom had the All In! and my dad had the oat waffle. All of us (mostly) left satisfied. My picky father loved his waffle. And I really enjoyed the porridge I had. The oats perfectly cooked, the apples and almonds gave it a nice textural contrast. Plus the caramel, which was more like a dulce de leche added the perfect amount of sweetness without being too sweet. My mom was a bit ambivalent because the All In was too sweet. But to be fair, All In includes all of their toppings. Including chocolate and caramel so her assessment was fair! The Grød at 7Eleven had this wonderful chia pudding, layered with yogurt, natural peanut butter, a berry compote and nuts and I was obsessed. So simple, yet so wholesome. So now I am happy to say I found my Ethiopian restaurant in Copenhagen. The variation that comes with the southern African sadza and the Ethiopian injera bread is what attracts me I think. Being a vegetarian I can freely choose what to eat and what not to. The same reason I'm also drawn to mezes and tapas. The restaurant in itself is quite anonymously located on Griffenfeldsgade and entering the restaurant will most likely leave you unimpressed. The lighting and interior is not that cozy. In all honesty though this according to me is genuine, many african restaurants have quite a sparse interior, I guess the food is the focus which I am all for and it won't affect my review. We ordered the vegetarian and fish dishes from the menu after consulting the friendly waitress. She then asked us if we wanted to share a plate since the plates are quite big, so we decided to do that. The beverage selection is quite limited, well, very limited to be honest, canned Tuborg is the only choice if beer is your thing. I would love to see some local Ethiopian beers or lacking that perhaps some beer that is commonplace in Africa like Lion and Castle, just to get the complete experience. Hopefully the will add this further on, but right now it brings my review down a notch. There are a lot of different flavours and eating it with your hands only adds to the experience. Prepare to get messy though. The different dishes are put on top of injera bread on a large plate, you eat by breaking of some of the pancake-similar bread and grabbing some veggies or sauces with it. Not only does it taste good, the food is plenty, you won't leave here hungry. Service was friendly and smiling. Upon leaving I told them everything was delicious and you could see the gratitude in the eyes of who I think is the owner. So we had a short conversation and he handed me a stamp card (10 dishes get one for free thing) welcoming us back. I WILL BE BACK! :)
