We found this spot in early January, and have been coming back ever since. The bulgogi is a personal favorite, and the kimchis are always amazing. We got to try to Tonkatsu today which was super yummy too! We also recommend the chicken Kalbi, and the vegetable pancake. However, I am sure whatever you get would be equally as delicious! The lady today (5/14/26) was extremely sweet, and the guy that usually works the weekends is also incredibly considerate so we always enjoy the staff and feel welcomed each time we have stepped in. Authentic Korean food run by Korean family. Service was exceptional and food was delicious. Galbi was perfectly seasoned and it wasn't too sweet unlike most Korean restaurants. Grilled fish was as expected. The Soontofu was delicious too. It has small shrimp and clams inside which added nice seafood flavor. The portions were on the smaller side, so plan on ordering extra if you are hungry. Two of us finished three entrees to the last bite. The banchan was underwhelming though. Enjoy! I don't know when this place was established but I've known about this place for at least 15 years. Each time I come back to El Paso I come here at least once and tell people how great the food is. The food is and has always been amazing. It is my favorite Korean BBQ spot hands down. The food served is fresh and hot because when it comes to you, you can hear it sizzling and get all that wonderful aroma! Kalbi Ribs is my favorite, the meat is tender and seasoned very well. I also love their Sundubu Soup (Spicy Tofu Soup), very very good! The service is great. The lady cashier that used to be still always remembered me but this time she was not here. She's retired good for her! That's how long I've known this place to exist. Some people say that the area where this is looks sketchy but I've never not felt safe. It looks like they've changed the floors to make the restaurant look brighter but they need a little more decor. But I guess it's working for them. But if you're here for the food not the ambiance you're good to go! I really love this place. They received four stars because even though food and service is a five the portions are not as much as before. But I understand, inflation! Some of the side items they don't serve anymore because it's "expensive" per the server (maybe owner?). My family enjoys authentic Korean cuisine and we heard the Northeast has great options. So we opted to try Kalbi House. It's a small locally owned place. We came on a Sunday for dinner and were greeted and seated immediately. I would describe it as " a hole in the wall." However, I have experienced great food and service from smaller establishments. It was on the warmer side inside, but I have noticed that is not uncommon during heat waves in El Paso, Texas. Their menu is authentic Korean food. The waitress was very nice and accommodating. I ordered our usual of bulgogi and short ribs. It came with the usual Korean sides and white rice. The bulgogi was good but the short ribs were very chewy and had a lot of fat on them. I would love to try some other options, specifically their soups but will try them next time. read more

Netflix with Kdrama was on tv I tried this place last year but only the fried rice because that's what I was craving and let me tell you, it was amazing!!! One of the best fried rice I've had in my life. So we can back and got it again and it was delicious! The onion was still crunchy when you bite it and it's the perfect contrast to the soft rice. I'm so sad to write a non- stellar review for a place that I'd been going to for decades. They used to serve really tasty, quality food. It was my favorite Korean food restaurant. Over the last several years, though, it stared to decline but I thought maybe it was just a slump that they'll overcome. Unfortunately, it just got worse. The last time (and sadly, will probably be the actual last time) we went, the food was not flavorful at all, and definitely not fresh. We saw them microwave someone's dish! Really great service! Generously walked us through cooking the meat and vegetables and preparing the meal because it was our first time doing it. The meat was great quality and the banchan was fresh and portioned enough to go around. We also had the kimchi jjigae because I'd had it on a previous visit and thought it was delectable, such a rich and spicy broth--it was just as I'd remembered it! Best Kalbi in town! We love Kalbi House! We had been here previously on a day when they were extremely busy and the service was really poor. We decided to give them a second chance and were pleased to see that the first visit really was just an off day. The service was quick and friendly this time. Don't let the appearance or location of this restaurant steer you away!! The food is AMAZINGGGGG! We decided to give this place a try as we were in search for some cold noodle soup. We saw that this place offered it so we made the drive. Upon arriving we noticed that the location is not too pretty but we didn't mind. We were the only ones dining in at the time and there were more then plenty of tables to choose from. The waitress quickly came on over, gave us our menus, and took our drink orders. We ordered the cold noodle soup but unfortunately she said that they didn't offer it anymore, bummer. We ended up ordering the bulgogi barbecue that comes with lettuce, white rice, and all the sides. She quickly brought out the grill and we began cooking! The meat tasted great and the lettuce was fresh! We were given so many different sides and they are not stingy with the portions. From radishes, to bean sprouts, to kimchi, to some spicy broccoli and some yummy potatoes! She checked up on us several times even though at this point there were other people also dining in. The sodas do come in cans and they don't offer refills. We ended up paying $40 for the food and service was great. Their eft machine was having a glitch that day so we ended up getting charged twice. I had to call this restaurant to see if they were still in business - a lot of restaurants shut down due to COVID. Luckily they were still open, so we decided to check it out. Definitely a hole in the wall restaurant - we weren't really impressed with the exterior, it seemed like a really obscure place (I mean, it IS on Dyer). We each ordered bulgogi, and it came with rice and banchan. The side dishes tasted fresh and the meat was flavorful! Everything tasted authentic. We're from California and we've had our fair share of Korean food. The portions were decent but there are other Korean restaurants here that give more. Visiting El Paso and my friend Donny recommended we visit this authentic Korean restaurant. I had only ever eaten very little Korean fare, but since Donny has Korean heritage I was interested to see how his recommendation would turn out. I was not disappointed! Kalbi House is a tiny hole-in-the-wall ethnic eatery that has wonderful dishes, sides and appetizers. I ordered the signature Kalbi dish (Korean BBQ short ribs) for my entree. It came with rice and was very tasty. The sides were very interesting and good as well. Most of them highlight vinegar based flavor with some spicy adds. Soybean sprouts, sigeumchi namul, oi bokkeum, gaji , oil muchim and more. I liked the bean sprouts a lot. With the hot tasty glazed short ribs everything worked very well. The staff was kind and helpful. While the restaurant is obviously old, small and family run, the clientele were almost exclusively people of Korean heritage, attesting to the accuracy of the ethnic flavors made and served here. read more

Really solid Korean food! The banchan is plentiful and the selection includes some of the Korean dishes you wouldn't find at some of the more "Americanized" Korean restaurants. Had the sundubu (soft tofu soup) and jeyuk bokkeum (spicy pork). Both great but not quite as spicy as I like. read more

I like the Spicy Bar-BQ Pork (Duegi Bul Gogi) in general. The flavors were there but wish they cooked the pork a little more. It wasn't undercooked, but would have preferred a little more time in the pan. The side dishes were good. They added two potatoes dishes which I hadn't seen before. One was seasoned and the other was like cold hash browns, didn't really eat that one. Didn't like the broccoli side dish either. Surprisingly i liked the bean sprouts side dish. I returned to this establishment after 13 years. Exterior looked almost same as I remembered--non-descriptive store front look. Inside was remodeled/painted, so it looked a lot brighter than what I remembered. Food is as excellent as I remembered. The price has gone up as you would expect for inflation of the past decade. However, for lunch menu items of $7.99 to $8.99, you cannot go wrong because the serving is wonderfully generous. 11 selections of banchan (side dishes, cf. photo) are more than generous. If you leave this place hungry, there might be something wrong with you for sure. I opted for kalbi (grilled marinated Korean short ribs) lunch plate. It was excellent. Generous amount of rice, a half egg roll and cabbage soup and aforementioned banchan was more than enough food for lunch for me. I will certainly be back to enjoy other menu items for sure. The Korean vegetable pancake has been raw the last couple of times that I went there. It is difficult to get a refill on tea, or an extra napkin. The lady seems as if she is always tired and has no energy. The Korean bbq plate that I tried was mostly fat and not meat! Was very excited to eat at this restaurant with my wife and try it out after i went to cafe korea and had a wonderful meal and experience. From the beginning the server told us we couldn't get the food we wanted because they were too busy so we ordered something else, we waited about 20-30 minutes and when our food was finally ready we noticed the server got my wife's order wrong, we mentioned it to her and politely told her that wasn't what we ordered. Came across this place while looking for another Korean place my husband remembered back from his Army days. First off, don't let the outside fool you. This is good stuff! Between all of us, we had Korean BBQ beef, white rice, and fried rice. At first I thought the prices were a little too high, however, after seeing the portions, it made sense. I was able to share the BBQ chicken with my daughter. Their meals come with white rice only, but for $10.99 you can get a very nice portion of fried rice. I think it's expensive for the quality of the meal. The stuff wasn't really nice too. I get it. They were busy with many customers during their lunch hours but I did not go in there to get yelled at... This place is near the base so it gets pretty packed during the lunch time. This food is absolutely atrocious. I ordered the lunch special chow mein and bibimbap. The noodles smelled really weird. We took a couple bites and that was it. The bibmbap was at least edible. The bachan is atrocious as well. Not sure why this place is even open. Really makes me appreciate the Korean restaurants back in LA. The ambiance is really run down. I can't comment on the food because I never actually ate here. I was missing home and craving Korean food really badly so I looked this place up and went. It was before noon on a Saturday and the place was empty. There were only two other tables there and both were paying to leave. My friend and I stood in the doorway and no one was out front to greet us. We awkwardly looked for menus or something to occupy our time while we waited to be sat. Finally a woman comes out from the back and I ask her where we should sit. She told us to sit anywhere. We sit and she hands us menus. She doesn't offer us anything to drink and instead starts bussing the two tables around us. She then takes a phone call on her cell phone and continues to ignore us. We were pretty hungry so we ended up leaving. Worst customer service ever. Maybe one day I'll do a follow up with an actual review of the food, but if you don't have much time to sit down or are super hungry, this is not the place to go. read more
