I had a taste for Ramen so I started my Google searches and that is how I came across Gom Ramen in El Paso, Texas. I have been down here for the last two months for work, checking out various restaurants in the area and I randomly thought to myself, I've not had any Texas-based Ramen just yet. The service was great, I was helped as soon as I walked in the clean establishment. The prices of the food were great and the quality was superb. I would definitely recommend this to someone looking to get their Ramen fix here in West Texas. I had the flavorful Mandu fried dumplings, Gom Ramen Spice level 2 and a Hot Yuja. Don't let the exterior of the restaurant fool you. The interior is clean, cool, calming and quaint. It reminded us of a small restaurant in Korea. The dishes were very well made, as if the owners were preparing them for themselves. We could tell a lot of care went into preparing them. I ordered Gom Bibim. The dish was visually pleasing and delicious. The flavor of the noodles was light. Often, the noodles in bibim kooksoo are drenched in sauce. These were prepared just right. The bedding of mixed greens were very fresh and paired nicely with the spicy noodles. My daughter ordered Gom Tang. The dish was good. The broth was a bit saltier than the traditional gom tang. She said that the egg was good. My sister-in-law ordered Gom Ramen. She said that it hit the spot. Delicious! We also ordered mandoo. They were served with a light kochojang sauce, and were hot and crispy. I highly recommend this restaurant. We are in town for the BTS concert. Okay, this restaurant is absolutely adorable and so cozy. My husband said it made him feel like he was back in Korea. The Spring Rolls came out super fresh and had the perfect veggie ratio. I ordered the Ramen with a level 1 spice..was playing it safe but next time I will definitely be doing level 2. Ended up dumping quite a bit of chili powder onto it, haha. Overall it was a comforting bowl with a flavorful broth. My only only thing is I wish the egg wasn't so well done. Tried the gom ramen and mandu(fried beef dumpling) and a dalgona candy. The gom ramen was subpar; very small amount of meat in the ramen itself. I would suggest to get additional meat with it; the fried dumplings had very little taste to them, very bland flavor, unfortunately. This restaurant is relatively cheap compared to others. This is the kind of local, charming place I am happy to give a 5 to. Easy. The food is wholesome and yummy. The service is good. Location is out of high traffic areas. And the ambiance is super cute. I really respect that their menu is small. Its like them saying, "We know what we're good at and that's what you get." Gom Ramen was an unexpected (good) surprise while visiting El Paso for work. Gom isn't too far from the airport and was really close to the hotel that I was staying at. I started out with the beef dumplings and would highly recommend trying them. Rather than the normal steamed dumplings, these are fried in oil making them extra crispy. They were very flavorful and not too heavy. I then had the Gom Ramen with a spice level of 1 (the levels go from 0 to 3). I have a moderate spice tolerance and the level 1 was perfect. The broth was great and the ramen noodles were fantastic! The only thing that left me wanting more was the thinly sliced beef. It was a little tough for me but still pretty good. I would 100% come back here and dine again. I would consider this a must stop for those looking for something other than steak and tacos. The service was quick and prompt. My only wish is that there was more noodles and beef in the soup, but you can order additional sides of each of you wish. I really can't understand all the good reviews. I've legit had better ramen from a pre packaged bowl. If this is what korean ramen is supposed to taste like, then korean ramen sucks. I visited this place to try the GOM Ramen (spicy-3). The place is quaint and nice. I ordered what I came for and noticed that a GOM option with rice was available to I ordered it "to-go" I finished my GOM ramen but slightly disappointed on the savory level of the broth. It seem watered down and spiciness was at the good level. When I eventually ate my "to-go" dish, I thought it was far more savory than the ramen version. Perhaps the ramen noodles was not thoroughly expelled all the water after boiling before mixing it in the bowl. I try other dishes next time. read more

Food was delivered in a timely fashion Spicy levels 1-3 (i asked 4 and it was perfect for me) Noodles were a little undercooked which is understandable considering the temp of the ramen will furth soften them. However, the size of my appetite was far greater than the amount of noodles i received. If you can eat, get extra noodles. Broth was really good. Being a Korean-American, this place was very nostalgic for me. I absolutely love the simplicity of the menu, because their recipe for Gom Tang is truly perfection. They absolutely do live by their motto, which is keeping a short menu and being highly proficient at creating dishes they are confident in. I love when El Paso gets new asian food, especially when it's this good. Ambiance - Set in an old whataburger, the inside is clean and simplistic. The overall setting is very homey. Service - Attentive and quick. Food - You know a place is good when they only sell and specialize in a selective amount of things. The gom suyuk which was delicious. The slices of meat were decent but the sauce that comes with it added a hint of tang and complimented the dish. The ramen itself was also good with just enough spice to be pleasant. And they're Korean ramen noodles, not to be compared to Japanese ramen noodles. - The place is small and interesting. But the 5 stars is for the ramen, not the digs. There's nothing wrong with the atmosphere or service, but sometimes great food is all that matters. - Normally, I love spicy food, like the spicier the better. Like give me the hottest chicken wings in your area and I'll eat them. No cap. But here, while the spicy versions are great, I would consider a less spicy version just to appreciate the noodles and soup. They're that good. - If you get take out, there's handwritten Korean (hangul) on the lid and an adorable bear which might look like a certain character popular in Korea but don't want to get anyone in trouble. It's just a cute, nice touch. I couldn't believe that this place was in El Paso, TX, not exactly somewhere that I'd expect to have great Korean food, but this place delivered on my favorite Korean ramen of all time (including ramen in Korea). read more
