This place seems to be a hidden gem. It's been around since 2019 but I've never heard of it. The vibe inside is anime but not a ton of it. The service was pretty decent and if I could recommend one drink it would be the sakerita..tasted amazing. We got the phuket nachos which has a little spice to them but not much and the flavor was great. I got the steak strips with kimchi slaw. The kimchi slaw just wasn't anything special in my opinion but the food was so good overall that I'll go back to try out some different sides.
Tried it with friends. Got their pineapple cream soda which they offered; it was very refreshing since i hadn't tried one in a while. I'm pretty sure it's not made by the restaurant but they do offer them. Tried the crispy pork belly, chicken katsu bao, the crispy pork belly bao is crisp on the outside, moist and tender on the inside with a nice relish to go with it. It was a perfect way to start the meal. The chicken Katsu bao is mild and didn't have much flavor to it. For the main course, I tried the spicy miso ramen (firm noodles+garlic on the side+extra pork belly), the broth was decent; however the noodles weren't firm as requested. On a positive note, the mushrooms had excellent flavor to contrast the broth. For dessert I tried the Japanese cheese cake and harajuku puff girls. The cheesecake is on the dry side with mild flavor to it. The puff girls is excellent and would highly recommend for anyone visiting the place.
What a fun spot! Let me preface this review by saying we just got a dessert for pickup, so we can't comment on the full, dine-in for dinner experience! When I called to order, the staff was friendly and informative. We ordered the harajuku puff girls ($6), which is black sesame and ube cream puffs with matcha ice cream. They told us it would be ready in less than ten minutes, and were true to their word! Although we just did pickup, we got a few pictures of the inside because it was so cool and the ambiance was great! Post-covid, we will definitely be back to enjoy the full dining experience! We got the puff girls home and they were so fun to try out! We had never had black sesame or ube, but recently read a BBC article saying ube is the new fad flavor and just had to try it! We definitely preferred the ube puff to the black sesame, but both were delicious! The matcha ice cream also had a bold flavor and complimented the puffs well. Like I said, we will be back (hopefully soon!) for the full dining experience! One note: make sure you are looking at the most current menu when you go to order!
Great little Ramen place! The place is small and cozy and the food is excellent! A bit more pricey but we'll worth the taste! The appetizers are delicious and the Ramen was on point! It also has a motif of Dragon Ball Z so if you're a fan this is your place! Will go again...thank you to the servers and the cooks -everyone working there was very friendly and welcoming! Cheers!
Texan Japanese fusion? It was a bit off putting at first, but definitely has a unique charm with some unique foods. Ambiance - There's a lot of japanese decoration with some texan decor scattered throughout. It's a bit odd, but definitely has a unique charm. There was even Naruto playing on one of the tvs! Service - Very professional and helpful. There's an open kitchen setting so you're able to see what's going on. The system in the kitchen seems to be a bit chaotic, but they recently just opened with time to improve. Food - Started with the pork belly bao which they combined the traditional bao with an hot/bbq sauce that was spicier than expected. While the idea was pretty good, the pork belly and bao itself were dry. The naruto ramen was pretty good broth, noodle, and egg wise. Chasu was too fatty and needed a better fat:lean ratio. Chicken katsu was delicious with an interesting kimchi type of coleslaw and pandan infused rice. Lastly, the japanese cheesecake which was more like a NY chesecake than a japanese one. Overall, I think this place has great potential with a creative, quirky menu. There's just a couple of tweaks that probably need to be worked out, but it's not bad considering they're fairly new. I'd definitely be interested in coming back and checking out the other items!
I stopped in Nomi after having a long lunch at Koze next door. I was greeted by Andrew. I asked how they packaged the to go orders as I had an hour and a half drive ahead of me. He confirmed they package broth and noodles/ toppings separately and I placed an order. I ordered two bowls of tonkotsu with extra pork belly. Andrew was exceptional and took care to make sure I understood how to reheat and cook the noodles. He even made sure they gave me uncooked noodles so I could have them fresh. He gave me plenty of garlic chili paste and I used it all. The ramen made it safely home and I had it the next day. Everything was flavorful and delicious. I know there's a lot of ramen in El Paso and I need to try all of them, but I'll definitely be back because Andrew made the experience AMAZING.
Lovely little hole in the wall on the West side. Spectacular integration of anime culture and dining. Not overdone or gaudy decor. Looks like an anime tea house. The food is flavorful , fresh and well balanced. We were celebrating a birthday and they even sent a delicious surprise. This will be our new go to for Ramen
Fantastic. A few coworkers and I had seen that this place was on Yelp's Top 100 for 2022. Some of us had been here before, but for me it was a first. I had heard good things, and I wasn't disappointed. We started with the pork belly buns. Solid, especially if you get a side of chili oil. We also started with the dragon ball Z. Not my favorite, but it was well prepared. We all got the spicy miso ramen. It was delicious and the mushrooms in it were stellar. The broth was rich and the pork was perfectly tender. Dessert was fantastic as well. We got the puff girls and the cheesecake.
Came for dinner close to closing time & had a great experience! Wonderful service - great customer service skills with recommendations, friendliness, and professionalism. The food was great too! Forgot to take a picture of the food because we were so hungry Ordered the chicken katsu for kids, entree of chicken katsu with soy chili salad, and brisket with corn. All tasted fresh, were prepared quickly, and presented nicely. The Japanese cheesecake was good too! Definitely different from the usual cheesecake, but still pleasant. Highly recommend
This restaurant has probably the best Nachos I have ever had. I dont like shrimp so I took the shrimp off and it was still amazing. I also had the pork belly which was very tender on the inside and great texture on the outside. Nomi salad was good, probably worth the $2 upgrade The margarita was also one of the better ones I have ever had, great mixture of Margarita and sake, called the Sakerita. Miso soup was decent, but would get a different soup The cheese cake was very light and fluffy, was made perfectly, worth getting.
Very pleasant date night experience here! The atmosphere is beautiful and the service was very good. Food was a bit slow coming out, about 25 minutes and we received all the food together despite ordering appetizers. Be aware you're right on top of each other with tables! Definitely worth a stop in! read more
The best thing was the steak skewer. Honestly, the tonkotsu ramen needed more salt and the pork belly was overcooked and rubbery. I have never said ramen needed more salt before... The chicken katsu was equally overcooked because the breast wasn't thinned out before frying. That's like rule #1 for katsu. It's a shame because the breadcrumb coating was really good, too! The service was quite slow, and my water ran out and was never refilled, and our server sort of kept disappearing despite it not being a busy afternoon. read more
Ya know. I really like this place. The food I have gotten is usually really solid, today being no different. But I can't help but admit that I have to stop giving this place the benefit of the doubt when it comes to its service, especially regarding its wait times. Every time I have come, there is at least an hour wait, this last one we were at the restaurant for 2 hours and we waited for our food almost 1.2 hours. I'm all about being understanding that maybe they are understaffed or maybe the server is new, but there were periods of waiting at times where it even took forever just to get water. We had a large group sit outside, and granted it was about 14 of us, but the reality also is that there was zero communication that things might take a while. There were literally 4 tables total inside so the possibility that it was because it was too many tables is also out the window. Plus, this place is now in my opinion way over priced. They need to update their menu prices because my Chicken Katsu entree was $17 and the tea, which wasn't even that much, was $3.50. And on top of all that, even though this waitress honestly didn't even deserve a tip, the restaurant has a 6+ seating gratuity added of 18%. The atmosphere of this place is still nice. Cozy/homey inside with a fun outside, but I no longer suggest this place unless you have a while to wait and it's only a few of you. This place wasted my time today and I doubt I'll be back soon because of it. read more
Really cool vibe in the restaurant itself with some amazing fusion plates. Pork belly was delicious, the chicken katsu wasn't thinly sliced as it traditionally is but was also very yummy. Definitely higher end cuisine and worth the price. Waiter also had good recommendations. read more

Service was great and so was the food. They have a lot of anime decor on the walls. Usually not a fan of crab but the Dragon Ball Z appetizer came out perfectly in terms of decoration and temperature. It paired well with the white tartar-like tzatziki sauce that was offered with it as well. The tonkotsu was delicious. Of course, with me being a little piggy, I opted for extra cha shu which was fairly priced for an ample amount of extra protein! Just sad that they ran out of the pork belly and brisket baos we read all the raves and reviews about. Oh well, we will have to try it next time! Was too full to try dessert this evening. read more
Rating is based off the food. I understand this is Texas, and Asian food isn't something the area is known for. I give this place a couple stars for effort. It is an Otaku Texas themed fusion restaurant, trying to mix multi Asian cultural Korean and Japanese cuisine. The food is definitely created for the American fusion crowd. I was only able to try the Tonkatsu, which unfortunately was drenched in sauce, and was obviously frozen microwave out of the box item, then reheated. Typically in Japan, Tonkatsu is served without sauce so you can choose to eat the cutlet with the amount of sauce you choose, as well as eating a couple pieces without sauce to enjoy the texture and taste. I would assume they drench the cutlet with sauce to hide that it's instant and frozen. The side of rice was some type of lavender Jasmine rice, and the salad was also drenched in dressing. The place was clean, the staff was friendly, except for one of the kitchen staff who arrived at the same time, opened the door and told us to hurry up in Spanish. I guess he thought he didn't think we would understand? In reply to the owner: Thank you for your reply. I am very aware of what Japanese Tonkatsu is, as I also live in Japan. I only stated this as I was trying to figure what it would be the closest relation to an actual Japanese dish . The "katsu" was definitely pre-made and not made from scratch. You can tell on how the breading thickness is around the meat, as well as the meat was a little frozen inside, I make this at home. read more

Here we are, helping out the El Paso business economy. My wife and I enjoyed this cozy Japanese restaurant. Natalia, the hostess and our waitress was very courteous, and polite and also helpful in helping us decide on what to order from many dishes. The beers were very cold and very tasty (Sapporo and Real Ginger Brew). We ordered Dumplings, Thai shrimp and Tonkotsu ramen noodles soup - very very delish!! M. read more

2nd time I've been here, first time it was amazing, 2nd time? EVEN BETTER!! Love it here!! Staff is super friendly, ambiance is great as well!! If you're an anime fan you'll fall in love with the decor! If you don't feel like sitting inside there is also a VERY beautiful patio area outside! For dessert ask for the Sakura Creme Brûlée!!! Simply devine!!! Great taste, perfect crack!! I loved it!! The brisket bao is O-M-G!! To die for!!! The BBQ sauce paired greatly with the brisket! 100% recommend it!! As my entree I had the Tonkutsu Ramen, if you've never had Tonkutsu, great started for authentic ramen, WAY better than Maruchan! Haha :P As far as prices go, if you've never had Japanese food, the prices might surprise you. But if you have had Japanese food in the past, it is VERY reasonably priced! I did order a lot today so I did pay a little more than a regular customer would pay, but oh so worth it!! read more
I loved Nomi when we had dinner there earlier this year. It reminded me of some of the great meals I have had in NYC and Chicago. I cannot wait to check this place out again in the future. Yum! This was a delicious and refreshing change from the typical Mexican fare in El Paso. We started with the unique shrimp nachos. I agree with everyone's recommendation on this dish. It's delicious. The show stoppers though were the pork belly bao sliders. Amazing! The skirt steak entree was also fabulous with super tender skirt steak and the rice was well flavored. read more

Food was amazing! We found out about this restaurant from a friend. Sad we found out about it soo late! We went during lunch time,and the restaurant was empty. The restaurant offers a variety of items with a broad menu. We started with the brisket bao bun and the pork belly bao bun. The pork belly bao bun was my favorite out of the two. I had the berry acai as my beverage which is delicious! It tastes like a berry sprite, highly recommend it! My husband had the orange soda which was also delicious! I got the Tankotso ramen as my main dish, which was soo good! I've tried ramen everywhere and this ramen is by far the best and is very light! My husband had the eel which was amazing! Im not a huge fan of eel, but this dish was to die for! So scrumptious! Made me an eel believer! We finished off our meal with a desert, their fluffy cheesecake. In regards to the service, the service was great! Our waitress was very attentive and helpful in offering us with her dish recommendations. Overall, great service and delicious food! I highly recommend their ramen and their bao buns. Everything was amazing about this restaurant, the restaurant is small but the design is beautiful! If your a fan of anime, their is anime characters all over the restaurant. Definitely will be returning here! read more

We went here for Mother's Day and the experience was stellar. The food and presentation-- chef kiss! The customer service was amazing and although that day was crazy busy our server made us feel taken cared of. The only thing that I wish was different was there pandan rice.. it was not as appetizing as it sounds. It tasted like it was cooked or submerged in rice too long that the pandan flavor was overwhelming every dish. A plain good old white would have made it great. But overall the experience was amazing. I just need to request regular white rice next time. read more
Very lovely asian fusion cuisine! I had my heart set on trying this place for a few scrumptious looking photos that people already posted. So i was ready! There was no wait for lunch and i was greeted promptly by the staff to sit anywhere. I chose a cozy half booth spot near the windows which had a couple of either pillows or seat cushions. Either way, it served me no purpose so i set it aside awkwardly lol. I mostly wanted this spot so that i can admire the anime wall art, especially Sailor Moon! I wasnt aware that there were different menus for lunch and dinner so i was very confused when i didnt find the dragonballz at first. My waiter explained that it was on the dinner menu but they would still be able to bring them out for lunch. I also ordered their har gow dumplings, Nomi salad eith shrimp added, papaya salad, and the rickshaw sticky rice for dessert. I had their berry acai soda as well. I did not care for their har gow unfortunately... nor their soda. It tasted like Robitussin soda to me unfortunately. I also was sorely disappointed at how little filling there was for their har gow. I explained both this to the waiter to which he insisted that due to its fresh wrap and fresh broth, it was to justify they 10$ price. I understand quality, but i insisted that they revisit their approach since i believe people expect more meat for a $10 appetizer. He was kind enough to take it off my bill without my asking or even implying, which i appreciate. Everything else was delish!!! I loved their dragonballz and their Nomi salad was perfect! Not too heavy or salty from its dressing. The papaya salad was good too with a sweet and savory taste, but i wasnt into how almost spoiled tasting it was to me so i couldnt finish it. The dragonballs were a delish New England flavor to it which wasnt expected but worked well! The finale was when i was delivered the Harajuku puffs instead of my rickshaw... i was confused and told my waiter. He took the fault for putting in the wrong order and allowed me to have it for free! Boy was i one happy girl lol. I loved the sticky rice part of the rickshaw but not so much the matcha flan on top of it... didnt quite work for me but damn was it good! But truly, the star of the desserts so far are those puffs! The ube and black bean cream puffs were sooo decadent and delicious and eating them with the matcha ice cream was HEAVEN! highly recommend that dessert to all! I will definitely be coming back to try more! I think the highlight of this visit was that one other customer apparently overheard my feedback on the food and asked me if i was a food critic. It's a nice fusion Japanese and Texan, it's next to one of my favorites restaurants and it's by the same owner. We got there starving and the server was so nice and fast to get our order. We got these bittersweet skewers with chicken. I was craving ramen so much so I went with the chicken one (not spicy) and my date ordered shrimp curry with rice. My dinner at Nomi was absolutely Yummy! Attentive Costumer Service, abstract and fun decor. All the food was good but my favorites were the nachos and grilled octopus. If you love Naruto or you know anyone who does Nomi is definitely the place you should eat at. read more
This review was for my experience a few days ago before COVID took over. This place could easily be one of my favorite places in town. The aesthetic and decor is filled with anime characters and homage, something I really appreciate. On the walls are anime characters and on the shelves, Japanese figures and toys. The atmosphere is really chill and you have the option to eat, facing the kitchen. The food was delicious. The ramen I would say is the best in town. The skewers are tasty and the curry was a surprise hit at my table. I would highly recommend the curry. While the food slightly more pricey, I would highly suggest it as it is delicious. The drinks are also very solid as well! The reason I am giving it 2 stars was due to the service however. When we went, we went on a weekend night. We ordered appetizers, the skewers, curry, and the dragonballz, expecting it would all come before the ramen as it normally does. The skewers came first and were delicious. Then came the curry, which we asked to come as an app. However our ramen came literally immediately after that. This is understandable as timing can be tricky sometimes and places get busy- we were understanding. While the food was good, we wish there was some time in between. However, our Dragonballz never came. We were expecting it to come a little late during our ramen. Again, not a big deal. However, we ended up finishing our whole meal before our our last app came. When we asked the waiter, we found out it was given to the WRONG table. We asked for it to be taken off since we were already done, but they said it was already on its way. A good amount of time later, it finally came. However these apps were cold and unenjoyable. The staff quite frankly was very unhelpful and seemed clueless during our wait. It seems like if we never brought it up, this problem would have never felt addressed from our point of view. This place would easily have been 5 stars had it not been for this experience. I understand mistakes can be made and I am typically very forgiving of them. However, giving another table our appetizer and not realizing it, giving us a cold appetizer when it finally came, and not being accommodating during this process really ending the experience on a sour note. I will give it a 2 stars for now, but I will be back to give another review, where I hope my score-and service-will improve. read more

It is true this place has potential. Ramen noodles reminded me a lot of the those that come in a bag, to be completely honest. I would have also enjoyed if they were more generous with the pork belly, instead of just one strip. Broth is very tasty, I ordered the Spicy Miso. Unless you enjoy spicy food this might not be the one for you. I also ordered the Flourless Chocolate Torte. It is a mixture of cheesecake with a chocolate cake. When you enter you are asked to pick where you would like to sit. Very quiet/ clean. Tables available range for two people, or six. Very opened space inside. Walls have some nice well known decor. You can see the cooks working in the kitchen area. My server Aaron was very polite, he made sure my cup was not empty and refilled it three times he was very attentive. read more

The ambience is pretty cool. The decor was relaxed, intimate, casual and lovely. Bleach anime was playing on the TV in the background. My daughter wanted to sit next to me so we sat at the bar. Oh my, the open kitchen concept was on point and watching the flames and plating was delightful for my 5yo. The Spicy Miso ramen did not disappoint and my daughter thoroughly enjoyed the Naruto ramen. The ajitsuke was perfectly seasoned. The broth!!!! I don't always know what umami is but I know when I taste it and the broth had it. The Sakerita was heavenly and might be my new favorite drink. This place had Lychee Ramune which is my favorite flavor and a change from the usual flavors offered. The Japanese Cheesecake and Flourless Chocolate Torte were on deck. My daughter ate the cheesecake so fast. It was surprising because up until today she had not liked any Japanese Cheesecake thus far. The Green Tea ice cream was, well I can't exlain it but it made me close my eyes to savor the flavor. Take that however you want. The staff was beyong friendly and helpful. The cooks engaged us as they were cleaning. The waitress and host even got down to my daughter's level to engage her. She can be extremely shy so this was a big deal. It felt like home, cozy and familiar but with tons of seating options. At the end of the meal my daughter said this is her favorite place in El Paso and wants to have breakfast, lunch and dinner here. As we left she handed out high fives and fist bumps. Yelp alerted me of a new Ramen place in the area and I went that day with another ramen enthusiast. When I got in there, the ambiance was spectacular. Alot of shine on the walls with relics of the old Japan scattered around as well. What I didnt expect was the Texas things that was incorporated with it. They also have a bike hanging from the ceiling. Let's start with the food. I first ordered the Japanese salad. I havent had Japanese salad in about 2 years, so seeing it on the menu made me do an impulse order. Their take on the japanese potato salad had carrots incited but it dodnt matter. The taste was on point. Brought me back to the days of taking mac salad from grandma's to the beach. (That good). The carrots didnt disrupt this taste. Now the ramen. The soup base was light, not thick as other places have. Not too much fat on the top to float around either. The color was a mild tan and toppings were laid out over the bowl in a very pleasing way. When tasting the soup, nothing was over powering. It tasted a bit sweet, but that could have been just me (later found out why) The ramenccame in a smaller bowl, unlike other places that serve it in a bigger bowl. The noodles were cooked right with enough chewy-ness for ramen. Pork The pork was a rectangle cut. With some bits and pieces thrown in as well. The pork had a sweet taste and was very soft. Not a melt.in your mouth type but a great taste none the less. Parts had too much fat but I do enjoy a good part with fat on it. Eggs One of the few places that do eggs correctly. Soft boiled with a liquid core, then soaked in a type of soy sauce. Very firm and very delicious. The topping were a first for me. Shitake mushrooms were a first for ramen toppings in El Paso. Most just do the same as everyone else, but this place goes a little outside the box. At the end of the night I had the soft cheese cake with raspberry sauce and green tea crumbles. Reminded me of the japanese cheese cake from the bakery in hawaii. It was awesome. Overall this place was great. Good atmosphere and food. For a fusion place they only have 4 things of ramen. The rest are just regular food orders. They have a curry I do want to try though (i super miss coco curry) Please go here and try ot out yourself. read more
