I think out of the Kaldi's, the best coffee is the one made by Grant. I believe Grant was working there today at the Kaldi under the bridge! I had the iced ube latte, it's decent for Kaldi. It's not bad, but I think the syrup definitely has that sticky or artificial taste? There's usually a long wait here because this place is packed so if you don't mind waiting or don't have anywhere to rush to on campus, get your coffee made here. Place has lots of seating inside with tables and booths and even outside. Two iced Americanos were about $3 each. read more

Another great coffee shop in ATL! Location and Parking Located on Eagle Row near Emory, parking is tight, but I usually just walk over on my lunch break. Venue and Atmosphere Such a cute converted train depot! There is plenty of seating and it does get busy around lunch time. They do not have an online "order ahead" option, so be prepared to wait at the bar. Service Service was prompt, courteous, and efficient. Food and Beverages I've had the berry smoothie, mango kale smoothie, and vanilla latte, as well as the avocado toast. All of them are delicious and I would gladly order again. When I learned that Dunkin' Donuts was about to be replaced by a local coffee shop, I was beyond excited. I imagined having smooth, strong coffee, perfectly foamy lattes, and crumbly, buttery baked goods, all within a 2-minute walk from school. Perhaps I set my expectations too high (I do make a pretty mean French-press at home), but Kaldi's has just been ok at best. I've tried their house brew, "Birds and Bees," many times, and it's always been super bitter and burnt-tasting. Their rotating brews haven't been much better, either. Thank goodness for their pastries, which are supplied by the famous H&F Bakery. The pumpkin bread is really moist, cinnamon-ey, and satisfying. I've tried 2 of their whole wheat scones, blueberry and cranberry-almond, which were both pretty tasty. Everything else on display also looks fantastic. Another plus-side at Kaldi's would be their breakfast and lunch menus, which offer a large variety of selections like quiche, burritos, croissants, and sandwiches, many of which are from other local businesses. Unless you come at a really strange time, expect a line here, as well as filled tables. But that's pretty much expected at Emory's DUC. If you get a regular coffee, I recommend buying a pastry to help cut the bitterness of the brew. All in all, I still think Kaldi's is a welcome change to the old Dunkin'. read more

I am kind of in a state of shock at the cost of their coffee in their tiny tiny cups. Let me back up for a second. I wanted a decaf coffee which I don't normally get because why would anyone get decaf if they're drinking coffee? Don't judge me. It was 5pm and I needed something to fill my stomach right before my workout and give me a teeny boost without keeping me up all night. I thought I would try Kaldi's since I've been seeing their signs all over campus. So I go up to order my simple decaf coffee. I order and the woman who helped me smiles and says, "is that all?" and I respond with a "yes, thank you". She then proceeds to tell me they actually don't have decaf coffee, but they have a decaf americano which is "just as good, I promise". I say, "okay... that's fine, I guess". She puts in the order and I am charged $3.25 for a 10oz decaf americano. I'm sure some of you are probably thinking I should get over myself, but I felt I should have paid the price of a decaf coffee. Yes, I got a decaf americano, but the substitution was offered to me in a way that seemed like I would get my drink for $2, the cost of a coffee. The 3/5 stars is not for that price mishap, though. It's for the drink itself. The americano was good, but there was an acidity to it that I am not a fan of. Or maybe I just don't like americanos. It wasn't worth $3.25 for me. I guess if you're ~fancy~ Kaldi's is a good spot to hit, but if you're trying to save some money, I would go to Rollins Cafe where they serve Starbucks coffee at Starbuck's prices. read more

I'm not gonna lie. I am super jealous that Emory now has a legitimate coffee shop. From what originally was a decent Einstein's to a terrible Dunkin (when I was an undergrad), Kaldi's is an amazing addition to the campus. The space has been altered to provide plenty of study space to accommodate individuals and groups. You're given the choice of comfy, single sofa chairs, high top tables with stools, and extra long tables, in addition to a plethora of outlets. I loved receiving a mug of the London Fog I ordered as well as a cup of pure Earl Grey tea alongside it. I've never received my tea like that, but I feel that they both provide a great palate teaser since they obviously compliment one another. Prices are as expected from a company that provides fair trade and farmer-supportive beans. I'm rooting for this place to be a permanent feature to the frequent changes to Emory's limited dining scene. read more

Kinda pricy but a nice break from work when I have the chance to get away for a bit. I have been to Kaldi's a few times since joining my team almost 2 months ago and have enjoyed the drinks that I have gotten, which include the Vanilla Latte, Rosemary Latte with Brown Sugar (rosemary flavor sort of elude me though), Matcha Latte, and today, the Rooibos Chai. These days, I try to not consume too much caffeine, which isn't really a problem since I don't consume it regularly anyway, so even when I get the small coffee lattes, I end up drinking about half. Today's Rooibos Chai is nicely spiced and is making me feel little kicks, which is funky. :D Anyway, cool place to swing by if you are on the Emory campus. Prices are somewhat high but like Myles says, it's just Emory. Drinks have been high-quality and very tasty, so I will continue to go every few days after hours of churning code. read more

Ordered the macchiato and not quite what I expected but I was very delighted to tried it. It came out as a traditional cup. Cute tiny cup serve with carbonated water. The taste was strong just the way I like it and the water after wards was very refreshing. Nice little find while visiting Emory. read more

Kaldi's Coffee takes the place of Dunkin Donuts at the DUC. I have had a greek yogurt and a small cappuccino at here so far. The yogurt is fresh and thick, with granola, fresh strawberry and honey. The yogurt itself is not too sweet as other yogurt parfait would taste like. The cappuccino is AWESOME. It is searing hot, which I always like. The furnishing is gorgeous, though a little bit off with the interior of the DUC. The drink comes a bit faster than at Starbucks. It is a new go-to with healthier options. read more

The staff was friendly, but I was served the wrong sandwich after waiting 15 mins to receive my order, my drink lid was faulty and leaked liquid everywhere, and my lemon bar was so gross and weirdly prepared that I had to throw it away half-eaten. Kaldi's will do in a pinch, or if it's just for coffee - but otherwise, it's not worth the $16 it cost for a truly unsatisfactory lunch. read more

Update: Coffee prices and sizes have stabilized. Before they had only 1 size for the iced coffee and charged it as a large. Thank goodness that's gone. Still expensive but that's just Emory I guess. My favorite coffee place at Emory! Their pumpkin latte is better than the one at Starbucks. And really, overall their coffee is better than Starbucks. Usually, I also enjoy the sandwiches. But lately, the quality has been inconsistent. They forgot to give me the buzzer for my sandwich order twice now. Not a huge deal. But now I am disappointed in the quality of the sandwiches that was once so high. The basil avocado is almost always good. The black bean burrito was amazing a month or so ago, but now is often burnt on the tortilla, too much cheese, and something is just different about the taste. Just ordered my first breakfast sandwich (requested no ham because I'm vegetarian) and after waiting for a while (because no buzzer), I ate the sandwich noticing bits of pink in the sandwich. Then I saw chunks of it...HAM was cooked in the sandwich and then roughly taken off. The sandwich should have been remade if there was a mistake like this. So what would have been a 5 star review for this place is now a 4 star. Still a great place! read more

Best coffee and cookies on campus no doubt! The Turkish latte is really good, but it's only around in the Winter time. Service is excellent. A little expensive, but hey that's why I bought Dooley$$ right? Not super impressed with the sandwiches here; they're a little bland.
