Less ice cream, bigger price! I used to enjoy it here, but its dirty and crazy expensive. Nearly 20 dollars for 2 small burgers and 2 small comes. 2 smalls used to be the size of dairy queen larges. Now they're tiny, and even more costly than usual. read more

Gross, disgusting and incompetent. Stay away!!' Run away from this hopeless place! I never make 1-star bad reviews, but this place fully deserves the award for Chehalis' "most likely to give you food poisoning" award. The Health Department needs to investigate it (if they haven't already). Stay away unless you have an enemy you want revenge on or a deep desire for gastric issues and ER visits. There system has completely broken down at this restaurant. I won't go into the more disgusting details of my experience, but from ordering to eating it was nothing short of a terrible nightmare. After placing an order from home, I drove expecting to pick up my order (seems simple huh?). I arrived to find the doors locked (covid regulations even though no one inside was wearing a mask and restrictions are lifted). I tapped on the door to have an eager male employee come to the door stating that they are drive-through only. He didn't ask me if I had an order, he didn't ask me if I was delivering the mail or had any other reason to be at the door. Just barked at me like an idiot. I explained that I already ordered and He stated that I needed to get in line in the drive-through even though I had ordered 20 minutes ago. So being a good customer that I am I got in the line of 15 cars wrapped around the building and waited has everyone ordered and got their food. When I approached the drive-through window I was greeted by a sweet young employee who asked me what I would like to order. " I already ordered my food" I explained to her, 52 minutes ago. She apologized and yet still went for my food which has now I've been sitting on the counter for 30+ minutes. I asked her if she was going to sell me the food that sat there for 30 minutes and her response was "it's still warm?" I paid for my food and headed home thinking maybe it would be OK. I was wrong, the food was disgustingly cold and after one bite I knew I had made a mistake. The rest of the details are not necessary. I would just avoid this place in the future. Apparently they can no longer combine 2 flavors in a small milk shake as it makes to much of a mess with their machine. I really didn't want a Med. and asked if they could just half each flavor to make one and was told no that it was the bosses rule! I went ahead and ordered the medium shake but the straw they gave with it what a joke! Seriously I couldn't even get the shake thru the straw because the straw would collapse every time I tried. Just under $13 for 2 cones and a med shake! Probably won't be going back anytime soon. read more

Thick shakes, generous servings of ice cream, fries are seasoned perfectly. The onion rings are the best you can find. I like they don't let people hangout at the drive through if there's more than one car so you can place your order while someone else waits for theirs. They'll run it out to when it's ready. They also have vegetarian options if that's your thing. read more

What a great place!!!! (If you don't mind high cholesterol counts and large thighs.) I'm open minded, I love it there. It is authentic greasy spoon with great food, great ice cream and good atmosphere, complete with the half of a 57 chev sticking out of the side of the wall where the clientel sit. Old records scatter the walls, old years books on the tables to read while you wait for your food, because this is not a fast food resaturant. Just a great hamburger joint, painted bumble gum pink with teenagers chewing the same gum serving you with that edge of "we could care that your here" attitude that takes you right back to the 50's and 60's. The part my kids like the most however, is the ice cream. If you order a small, for the price of a small they bring you a 6 inch tall thick ice cream cone, way to much for way to little. A medium is 8 inches tall and a large ice cream cone comes upside down in a large soda glass with a spoon! You order burger fries and drinks seperate so it is not a cheap spot to eat unless all you want is ice cream and given the grease level if you eat here often your medical bills will sky rocket, but the nostalgia and the great flavor makes us return ever so often, despite the (ever so tasty) grease! read more

I eat here sometimes because it reminds me of this burger joint I worked at when I was in college, however, every time it sounds like a good idea afterwards I wish I didn't. The food isn't awful but for the price you could do much better, you might as well go to red robin or what not. Also takes quite some time to get your food. If you are going to eat here I would try the western burger and a banana shake :) one fry will feed all, no need to waste the money on two. read more

I havent been to the Dairy Dan in a couple years, and i heard they had knew owners, so i took the plunge. Had my two young kids with me, and it was just...blah. The burgers used to be the best in town. The prices have increased, but the food has definitely declined. The ice cream is still the same and a great stop in the summer time, however if i ever have a craving for a burger, im going to the dairy bar. read more

Well wanted a good old fashion hamburger for dinner, so I went toairy Dan's. I ordered a double cheese burger, large fries, and small shake. I will say that it was all very good. Service was great and it was pretty speedy. The only thing that concerns me is I paid over $14.00. I can go to the casino and pay less and get a lot more choices and not still feel hungry. I could go to almost any Chinese restaurant and not pay more then 10.00 bucks. I can get like 2 large pizzas for the price of 1 dinner at 'Dairy Dan's!! I just don't think 4.00 is a fair price for frozen French fries. Or ovee 3.00 for an 8 oz shake. I love the restaurant but damn you killing me. read more

We came here on a hot day yesterday afternoon on the drive from Portland to Kenmore. My mouth was dry and needed a cool pick me up. This is a small quaint mom n pop fast food joint. My daughter's comment was oh that's a drive up. The drive up was two feet from the front door. We were only about the second party at the front counter. The party that was eating in was just finished. There were only 2 cars at most in the parking lot. Big menu of shake, sundaes etc. Their ice cream is soft serve vanilla or chocolate. Aly ordered a peanut butter banana shake and I got the girl scout thin mint shake. Glad we hit this place. One of the best shakes I've ever had. Soft serve was fresh, cookies were crushed seconds before mixing. The shake wasn't too sweet, not runny, just the right consistency. By the time we got our shakes and drove away, the entire parking lot was full. We're guessing practice just got out. There is a nearby athletic park. Its great that they're a quick jaunt on and off I-5. read more

Everything is amazing except their burgers. The burgers taste A little bit better than McDonald's. So why not save the money and just go to McDonald's. The burgers are expensive here. The staff is nice though. read more

I worked here when I was in high school and I have to say it was a fun little drive-in. The food quality and service has gone down hill in the last 5 years as the prices have risen. I have given this 4 stars as it is almost a historical landmark. Dairy Dan's was the first place that my grandparents ate when they found the town of Chehalis over 50 years ago. It is a must stop if you are headed south on I-5. This little joint is located a block from WF West High School and is a popular hang out spot. **THE SOFT SERVE ICE CREAM CONES ARE THE BIGGEST AND BEST THAT I'VE EVER HAD...HANDS DOWN** You can't go wrong when ordering the ice cream!!! read more

Typical burgers, shakes and fries but what gets you is the cones. If you can't eat 2lbs of icecream don't even think about getting a large. The food is good the cones are great. A large cone is about 18 inches tall and that is no joke. read more

We ordered an onion ring, foot long hot dog & a coney island. We had to wait behind the building for an hour for our order. When we got home, we had NO coney island, the onion rings were burnt & the hot dog was hard, it was so well done. Will not be going back anytime soon read more

Dairy Dan's restaurant in chehalis is a great place to eat. My sister and I went there on our lunch break today. It is in a very convenient location near the school so that students can get back and forth with-in our 30min. break period. This restaurant has a great home town feel and the employees are very welcoming. Our food, (two milkshakes and a large fry), took some time, but that is to be expected at lunch time. All in all Dairy Dan's can make a mean peanut butter milkshake and it's great for a once-in-while treat. read more

I have been coming to Dairy Dans for 20 years. In all my time coming here I have never encountered such a rude, arrogant and voile employee. I ordered a large vanilla ice cream cone upside down in a cup with blackberry topping. My friend with me wanted the same but with hot fudge. Instead we were meet with sarcasm that they don't have large and never have and that she had been there for over a year and a half and I don't know what I'm talking about. For $8 for two ice creams I am not paying for your attitude. My money's spends just as well elsewhere. I'll go to Safeway and buy a gallon of ice cream for $5 before I come back. read more
