I visited on a Saturday before noon. As the only patron in the restaurant, I was waited on and greeted upon entering. I ordered a Chicken, Gyro and hummus. The meal was ready within five minutes. It was almost like they knew what I was getting through some sort of restaurant AI! Upon first glance, the gyro was LOADED with meat. I don't think I've seen this much chicken in a gyro before. The first bite was very good. The tzatziki sauce was not overwhelming and the chicken tasted fresh. The pita was warm and perfectly thick. Overall, this was a quality sandwich. Not the flavor profile I was expecting. I got the Greek salad with a side of beef and lamb gyro meat. It does not come with pita, so you need to ask for that separately. The salad was lacking flavor. I didn't like the green peppers in there. They didn't seem to belong. The feta also seems like average quality. Dressing/salad didn't have much oregano/spices. Overall bland. The gyro meat really threw me off. I'm used to the slices of meat that almost seem like "a thin slice of firm meatloaf". This was like shaved beef. I don't know if this is...better quality? Maybe I just like the street vendor type of meat? I just didn't like the texture or flavor. Pita bread was fine. Overall, just not impressed. read more

The gyro here is a delicious protein bomb, I opted for beef and lamb, must've been half a pound of sliced meat from the rotisserie on a warm soft pita, about $16. If you get everything it has lettuce, tomato and sauce in the bottom; also a few fries, which the man offered to put on the side, and actually I would choose that option next time. Has seating for a dozen people at two and four tops, but I think most people take out. If you were wondering, a "cut roll" is your choice of protein in a wrap, cut into slices (a little bit like a sushi roll) then doused in tomato sauce. Also, "marouli" is the Greek word for lettuce. Vegetarian rating: 2 stars for the salads and felafel, which is the only non-animal protein option for a platter or gyro. Maybe it's just me, but I would enjoy the gyro more if it were a little better balanced between the meat sauce lettuce & tomato. Give me the option, don't crush me with meat and charge me a couple bucks less. Same people own this and Azure, the sit-down Greek restaurant on Pine Street. read more

This little, unassuming gyro joint has really fresh and well-prepared gyro and salads. The slaw served with the doner is shredded lettuce, carrot and raw beet: crunchy, fresh and perfect. The beef and lamb gyro was Percy seasoned and fresh. The pita and Greek salad were excellent. The counter-person was pleasant and efficient and the service was quick, event fairly late on a Sunday night. I'll be back to try the rest of the menu. read more

Kind of dry, frankly. Salads good, but again not "over the top' as we've heard. Perhaps our expectations were out of line? Appears most of their business is DoorDash style for the local hipsters, and not for the more critical diner. But, having said all of that, they deserve another try for sure! read more

Kalimera Gyro offers tasty, freshly made, and reasonably priced platters, gyro sandwiches, and salads in a very casual ambiance. Everything on the menu is cooked-to-order, so place your order at the counter, grab a canned or bottled soft drink from the small cooler, then have a seat at a table while your food is prepared. The dining area, which is open to Morris Street when the weather is cooperative, offers only a handful of tables for two or four diners. On our first visit for dinner on Saturday night, the seating area was fully occupied and we decided to go elsewhere in Motown rather than wait for an open table. On a follow-up visit for a late lunch on a Sunday afternoon, we were able to snag a table for two. I opted for the Bifteki Wrap ($13), comprised of a ground beef kebab served with romaine lettuce, tomato, red onion and french fries on a grilled pita. The wrap was freshly made and fairly tasty, but I wasn't expecting the fries to be served 'grease truck'-style inside the pita. My dining companion had the went for a healthier selection and had the Chicken Wrap ($13), comprised of a shredded chicken served with romaine lettuce, tomato, red onion.. and french fries.. on a grilled pita. Both of us wound up picking the french fries out of the sandwich to eat them separately. My dining companion and I both enjoyed our wraps very much but we each thought that the portion size was vaguely disappointing particularly considering the description and the price. If anything, the menu should offer more sides to go along with the sandwiches/wraps. Overall.. a mixed experience.. the food was freshly made and tasty, but the small dining area isn't conducive to dining in or waiting for a table to open up, the beverage options are limited to Poland Spring bottled water and a handful of canned sodas, and the portions seem too small considering the price point ($32 for two wraps and a bottle of water). read more

Seems like a fine late night Greek joint in what's essentially a converted garage. The only vegan menu item, the falafel wrap was disappointing and the Greek fries were really underwhelming even for greasy late night food. The guy said that they don't make the falafel in house, which is fine, but just three balls on the pita is sad compared to the meat options. read more

Definitely agree with a few other reviews that this didn't taste or significantly resemble a traditional Greek gyro. I got the chicken gyro and other than it being presented in a pita, the fries/potato included inside and red peppers felt out of place along with it being fairly bland tasting. We ordered takeout as well and unfortunately by the time we got the spanakopita home, it wasn't crisp or flaky. Definitely wasn't worth the price either. Overall very disappointing. read more

Wow!!!! We went there on Saturday for lunch and my kids are addicted. The chicken pita gyros are fantastic and the owner couldn't have been nicer. We've ordered from there 3 times now and are looking forward to trying the rest of their menu items. Highly recommend. read more
