Let me start by saying I am extremely dissatisfied with both the service and how this situation was handled. After paying for repairs, the original issue was not resolved. The vehicle continued making the same noises we initially brought it in for only louder and is now accompanied by a burning smell. When we returned to address the unresolved problem, we were informed that an additional part (a water pump) would need to be replaced at extra cost. This was confusing and frustrating, as the initial diagnostic failed to identify what now appears to be the actual issue. We were asked to pay again despite the concern we originally brought the vehicle in for never being corrected. We requested and retained the original parts that were replaced and later had them inspected by an individual who previously worked at Ford as both a mechanic and service writer. We were advised those parts appeared functional and should not have required replacement. Based on this, we believe the service department should take accountability for the incomplete diagnosis and cover the repair related to the water pump, which should have been identified during the original visit. Our concern has never been about avoiding payment, but about accountability for an incorrect or incomplete diagnosis that resulted in unnecessary expense, lost time, and nearly two weeks without reliable transportation. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Unfortunately, communication during our visit became unprofessional. A staff member walked away from the discussion, and assistant management refused our request to escalate the concern to higher leadership or ownership.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They also told us that the service director/manager was gone the whole week to Arizona even though we we supposed to have a meeting with him to come to a resolution. When we picked up my vehicle today, the service director/manager was back, so they told us false information so we couldn't discuss with their supervisors or owner.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We were also told that if the dealership chose to cover the repair that was the actual issue, they may refuse to work on our vehicle in the future simply because we questioned the situation.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We asked only for transparency, an explanation of the failed repair, and a fair resolution. Instead, we were met with defensiveness and dismissal from the service department.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] At this point, we cannot recommend this dealership due to poor customer service, lack of accountability, and unwillingness to properly address an unresolved repair concern. At this point, yes after the discussion with the service department, they are now doing my water pump fix which should been resolved in the first place but I'm glad they are doing it now but I am not pleased that the lady at the service desk said "well if we do this, then we are parting ways and no longer will work on your vehicle in the future". Simply because I mentioned facts that she told me were "your opinions" on what has happened, the incomplete diagnostic, that I was charged over $1200 for something that wasn't the issue in the first place. I brought my F-150 here for a simple oil change and it was enough for me to never come here again. Firstly I pull up and tell them that I bought my own oil for them to use in the backseat. AFter they goof around with my truck for nearly 45 minutes (I watched them from the show room) I noticed them putting in their own Ford oil. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I went in to complain and they said they didn't see any oil in the backseat. I open the door and there's the 6 qts of oil that I bought right there in plain sight. They apologize and said they'd fix it.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Okay, simple mistake. another hour later (what's taking so long!?) someone comes into the showroom and lets me know that my truck is ready. Despite their mistake they still wanted me to pay for their oil that they mistakenly added when I specifically told them I was providing my own oil. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When I refused, they got all sour at me and the advisor literally threw my keys down on the counter. How professional and respectful![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] In my 49 years of being a loyal Ford customer I've never run into anybody at a dealer with that attitude. As I drive home I look in my rearview mirror and see that there's one quart bottle left that they DIDN'T USE! I pull over immediately and check my manual and under capacities, boom. 6 quarts of oil. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I turned around and drove back hoping it didn't cause any damage to my truck and when I politely questioned them, they had the gall to say that I "likely went and bought another quart to frame us after an honest mistake".[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Who does that anyway? To add insult to injury the bottle said "not for individual resale" so explain how I would be able to just buy that? And to assume I'm a dishonest crook because I didn't want to pay for their mistake? I'm honestly disgusted. I can't imagine how they treat other customers who genuinely don't know any better and trust them with their expensive vehicles. I went and dumped the oil in my truck and left that cesspool of a dealer. STEER CLEAR OF KALISPELL FORD! By the way, I literally created a yelp account just to make this review if that says anything. Outstanding customer service. I only write reviews if an experience is exceptional or terrible and Kalispell Ford really outperformed. Our adulting son purchased a late model used truck from them. The truck began shifting erratically, and was unusable in the snow. I had numerous mechanics in our circle of friends look at it and nobody could fix it without a new transmission(5k). I called Kalispell Ford and they agreed to look at it. They did not have to do this but choose to stand by the truck. Turns out they found a small pin on a microchip had failed. Without them we would have replaced a transmission and still not solved the problem. We cannot thank the team of people at Ford enough for answering all our calls and solving a complicated, potentially expensive problem the best way possible. Thank you. read more

My visit started out as a 0/10. Having to schedule a time for express lube was more than a simple inconvenience as I work on call and out of town. Once in, it took longer than an hour to do my oil change in the express bay. I was less than thrilled, but knowing that other services were coming up I decided to talk with a service writer. I ended up getting Hunter. He had the displeasure of having to tell an already irritated customer more unfortunate news. The service department is booked out for several weeks, which isn't his fault. We went over the calendar and he tried to make it work. He took the time and had the patience to make sure I didn't leave as an upset customer. Due to my work schedule, I wasn't able to get onto the books. He did represent the dealership well, and I'll keep trying to get in for a service. Glad to know there's still employees at valley businesses who understand customer service! My visit ended with a 10/10. read more

This review is specifically for Kalispell Ford's Service Department. For any readers of my review of Kalispell Ford's sales acumen, you know I'm not a fan. However, my friends and neighbors kept urging me to give the dealership's Service Department a fair shake, citing it was managed and operated at a much higher and professional level than the car-sales side. Indeed, that appears to be true. I bought a Ford (not at Kalispell Ford) and was looking to have the oil changed and get a "used car" inspection completed. In short, I experienced 360 degree satisfaction from the Service Department. They exceeded my expectations, in both expertise and courtesy, and helped me fairly and accurately evaluate my recent purchase. And just as an aside, the place is super clean and organized - no small feat for what is (foundationally) an auto repair shop! The Service Manager made me feel like a truly important customer and the level of service was high; I will definitely return and recommend them for your vehicle service needs. I bought a second hand explorer a few months ago and it didn't even come with a license plate holder in the front and the back plate is flapping around. I have had no follow up from the dealership about how I'm getting on with the car. The car has 11k miles on it but there seem to be a few things not right with it. read more

I live in a small town half way between Kalispell and Missoula. It is an hour and a half drive into town through the middle of nowhere so it is important that things get done right and on time. Service started on my 2015 F350 right on appointment time and I was updated on the progress. I have owned Fords for the last 30 years and always get them serviced at the dealer. I was a little worried that all of the service personnel looked so young. How experienced are they? As it turned out they were not only knowledgeable but the most helpful and courteous service people I have experienced in a long time. I will definitely be back. My only disappointment was I was hoping to shop for a new truck while I was there and the new car lot looked like a ghost town. Very very little inventory. read more

When you want to buy a vehicle now days most of us do a lot of shopping online since the dealerships all put ads on there. I contacted them about a vehicle on their lot and was immediately called by their internet person who then passed us off to a salesman Mark who promptly called me back to get a little more information. We live about 60 miles out of town so connecting with him was hard due to our busy schedules with building etc. He was diligent in sending me info on several trucks with the info I gave him in what we were interested in. Eventually we found time to come down and meet with him and look at and drive a few different trucks. He was extremely thorough and informative on every one we drove. To our surprise we chose something totally different than we thought we wanted. In the process we were trading in a larger truck to something more fitted for our current needs. CAREFUL - their advertised discounts are quite misleading!!! They use the TOTAL BEFORE DISCOUNTS figure off of a Window Sticker as their starting MSRP instead of the TOTAL MSRP. When I called them, their representative did not deny it (as if he could) however, he tried to suggest that is an accepted industry practice. Being new to Montana I was intrigued by his statement so I tested it against the next ten (10) FORD dealers in Western and Central Montana. Not sure on the bad reviews from the service department, my service was EXCELLENT. We drove from California 2019 F150 4WD, all is well until its not. My 4WD was malfunctioning, getting a notice in the truck that the 4WD is temporarily disabled. It only does this when you need it, when the wheels are slipping. I took a chance and called Kalispell Ford, spoke to Matt Sieler one of the service advisors. I called at 7:15 Matt answered before they were supposed to be open (8am). He told me they could see me for a 9am appointment, and scheduled 1.5 hours with the truck. I get there I meet Matt who couldn't have been more friendly, not surprising everyone I have had contact with in Montana is so nice. He took the truck, and showed me to one of the nicest waiting areas I have ever seen. Coffee bar, TV's, Wifi, etc. Matt was keeping me posted as to the progress, I am here on vacation/business and I need a vehicle. I was contemplating the rental situation, how long I would need it. I was given the bad news, broken right front axle shaft, hub, and actuator. I have no idea how it happened but it did. Matt was honest and upfront from the start and was not sure how long it would take to get it fixed. Mainly due to parts, they had all but one of the parts (the shaft). It was snowing and deliveries were delayed. The dealership gave me a ride to the rental car place. I rented the a vehicle on 2/17-2/20, and we extended our stay. Giving the dealership through Monday to get the work done, and waiting on that part. I called Matt on the 18th in the afternoon hoping to hear this part came in and it did not. As it turned out the part came in the morning on the 19th. Matt called me to say my vehicle was ready at noon on the 19th. I could not believe it. I returned the rental, and picked the truck up. So far so good, and as a future full time resident of Montana a huge fan of Ford I would not hesitate to use Kalispell Ford for service or purchase. Picture this...a mom and her two sons that are Special Olympians drive onto the lot in freezing, blowing snow, just so the Mom can actually "see" how tall the ford vehicles are before she researches more online. (She needs major headroom/legroom for her very tall sons). She's already been burned by the Chevy dealership, who at the time still has her 17 year old suburban in their service dept, of which they've offered her $0.00 for trade-in (only willing to forgive the forthcoming repair bill). The Mom only wants to LOOK at headroom outside, not talk to a salesman because 1. It's Freezing, and 2. She's annoyed at the whole car process due to frustration from Chevrolet, and 3. She has her boys with her, not a school day, so she doesn't want to be hassled. But out in the blowing snow comes walking a salesman...alllll the way down to the end of the row where she's wiping snow off a vehicle to check headroom height. The man's name is Micah. Micah looks harmless and not bothered at all, and offers her the choice of checking the car she's looking at...Inside where it's warm and not snow-covered. That sounds sensible. She comes in. Doors are opened for her (literally--someone opens the entry door every single time she comes in and out). Huh, interesting. The vehicle in question turns out to be too big overall. Micah asks if she'd care to see something smaller in length, offering that he can drive up a couple of cars and wipe them off, so her boys can actually hop in and check real headroom before she does more research. Welllll okay that sounds reasonable. Fast forward, one of the cars a son falls in love with (HUGE sunroof for watching airplanes), and plenty of headroom & legroom for over 6 foot tall boys and their two small service dogs. It's a 2018 Ford Edge with only 3,000 miles. A great deal for a still new car but at last years price. Mom takes a couple of days to think it over. Mom does her research and comes back for a test drive, decides it's The One. Micah walks her through the process step by step. She meets Jim Harris who is helpful with the warranty process, not high-pressure, only informative. Mom walks away with a new car, new safety features for her family (alot's changed in 17 years), excitement about better gas mileage, and overall positive feelings of getting a good deal. Would give no starts if it was an option. It's a good thing I'm a Chevy guy anyway, because this is the worst place of business I have ever entered. I have never felt so unwanted or that my presence was so bothersome to people. I wanted to look at paint samples, I was sent to a counter where no one came to offer service, and after waiting for 10 minutes or so, the person who was deliberately ignoring me in the back literally turned off the lights in the area I was waiting in, plunging my into darkness until I got the picture and left. I'm just glad they showed their stars this way before I got involved with them as a customer. This is probably a great place to buy an overpriced, Mexican assembled pile of utter garbage, if you're one of the recent yuppie imports to the valley who wears their value on their Versace sleeve, but for the rest of us... Bought my second new truck from Kalispell Ford. Bought a New 2020 F-150 from them in March 2021, ordered a 2022 F-450 in July of 2021 and picked up in April of 22. The sales and service team at Kalispell is second to none in my opinion. I live in Maryland and drive 2600mi to purchase from them. Hitch, my salesman is easy to deal with and Seth the Sales Manager is the best in the business. I can't wait to buy more vehicles from Kalispell Ford. Their customer relations are unmatched. Great nice building with great waiting area if needed. Poor service, did not review work order. Several visits and excuses to get anything repaired. Poor diagnostics, went in for front and back brakes, was told the backs were ok, so I got the fronts done. went in a week latter for another issue and was told the back brakes were bad. After unable to diagnose a vibration, was told that vehicle was operating within specs. Nothing wrong, yet had vibration with rumbling sound, clunking noises over bumps and squeeking brakes even when pedal is not being touched. Not recommended, if your looking for a vehicle in the Flathead area stay away from Ford. read more

So I brought my car in with some front end noise, had them diagnose it (mind you I have one of those overpriced 3rd party extended warranties, because I bought my Ford with 100,000 on the clock). It came back needing a couple of sway bar links and struts. Now, I have canned food in the cupboard older than these struts (one year old), so I knew something was fishy... opted not to replace them. They changed the sway bar links, and a motor mount. Made a passing comment to me about an exhaust hangar missing, and that was probably the knocking I was still hearing. Still had lane drift, but the roads here aren't great, so whatever. I'm out walking around the car yesterday, and kick the tire... it knocks and bounces! Drive home carefully and put car on jack stands... grab tire... shake... spindle/wheel/tire moves -not a little-! Go to take wheels off, lug nuts severely over tightened... too many Ugga-duggas guys! Break 3 lug nuts, find out that the passenger lower ball joint is very bad... squeaks and pops. My 11 year old daughter would have been able to see this was the problem over any other noises, because it should be one of the first checks you make!!! I love my Ford... own two as a matter of fact, but I can not recommend using Kalispell Ford's Service Department due to this oversight. Will be changing that entire control arm myself! read more

I won't be buying a Ford in Kalispell Montana. This place is GARBAGE. I have now heard from five completely different sources that they will: not honor warranty work, scheduling is at least 3 weeks out THREE WEEKS OUT AT A DEALERSHIP?!?!, and no loaner cars for warranty repairs. How can a large dealership that is closest for any Ford owner in the Flathead Valley (roughly 100,000 people) be so booked they are three weeks out. Most people pay for the higher priced service because of the time and ease; not the case. Don'K is the only Subaru dealer in the valley and you never hear about this. I know that Toyota and Volkswagen are also under the same umbrella in the valley and you NEVER hear about these issues. Get a clue Kalispell Ford. read more

We are in Kalispell visiting from Washington. On our drive here our engine light turned on, we drive a Lincoln Navigator. We have a Ford warranty, just stopped by Kalispell Ford and they wouldn't even use the handheld device to tell us what the code meant. We just wanted to see how serious the problem might be as we have 650 mikes to drive home. They wouldn't even do that! Said they were not "allowed". I have to retract my initial review for the Kalispell Ford Company. Yes, the staff was friendly and helpful and the new building is beautiful but it turned out to be a bad experience for me. On 2/6 I bought a Chevy Equinox. The salesman Micah seemed nice enough, helpful and willing to answer all of my questions and get the information I asked for on this vehicle. He told me that Ford does a thorough inspection of all the vehicles and if they get anything that is not mechanically sound and isn't worth their time/money to repair and sell at a good price to the consumer, that those vehicles go to the buy here, pay here lots. He showed me the seemingly clean car fax, he showed me the inspection papers and how the point system works and from what the paper said the few minor things the vehicle scored on wouldn't need to be addressed for some time, i.e., seal leaks and such. I test drove it twice and it ran nice and smooth. I made a few statements about still being skeptical because I heard some things from a reliable source about this particular make, model and year, but I was re-assured Ford wouldn't put anything out that wasn't worth selling. Needless to say I bought the vehicle, despite it being grossly marked over fair market value, Kelly Blue Book and Edmunds. This was Tuesday the 6th I drove it home and parked it. On Wed. the 7th, I called my trusted mechanic at Howie's and had it scheduled for an inspection on Monday the 12th just for peace of mind, I always do this when I buy a vehicle. So I drove it just around town, back and forth to work and up to Big Mountain that Saturday, nothing too extreme. By Saturday however, I start feeling a difference in the way it was driving compared to when I test drove it and drove it off the lot. It was a little more unstable and a lot more give in the rear when I was going over bumps and such, didn't think too much about it considering it's just a new car to me. Well thank goodness Ford has a 7 day return policy and thank goodness I had it inspected! I dropped it off Monday at 8 with my mechanic and he called me by 8:45 and said BRING IT BACK!! The entire rear end is about to go! Come to find out the right front strut was completely collapsed, the sway bar links were broken and the rear differentials were completely a mess not to mention a few major leaks! My mechanic actually deemed it NOT SAFE TO DRIVE. How could something so significant be missed on what Ford said to be such a thorough inspection??? Even I could spot a collapsed strut if you put the thing on a lift! I picked it up on my lunch break and drove it back to my office 2 miles away and it rode really poorly, so poorly in fact, I called Ford to come pick it up because I was returning it and didn't trust driving it all the way to Ford that evening. They offered to have it fixed for me if I really liked the vehicle but at that point I couldn't trust anything they would fix on that vehicle if they let it go off the lot in that condition in the first place. So in my mind 4 things either happened. 1) A Ford mechanic highly neglected to his job thoroughly and correctly, 2) They knew this was an issue with the vehicle and just withheld the information when I bought it, 3) they flat out lie about the quality and thoroughness of their inspections on the vehicles they sell, or 4) They did a temporary fix on these issues in hopes the vehicle would last beyond the 7 day return policy, whatever way you look at it is completely and utterly unacceptable!! The integrity of this business in my eyes is ruined! I will never buy from Ford and I will never give them a good name after this experience. When I was picked up by the shuttle driver the day I returned it, the salesman Micah that sold me the vehicle basically hid, he never once came up to me to apologize for my experience, he never said a word to me, he could have said something!! This was infuriating after what I had been through, even more so than the vehicles condition, some customer service! What a joke! Buyer beware! read more

My wife and I came to the dealership around 5:30-pm Tuesday 4/23/19. We were looking for a possible trade deal for a nice 2015 Blue Ford Edge SEL with low miles. We have a 2013 Genesis 3.8L sedan to trade, also with low miles and similar condition. The sales person, "Hitch", was very easy to talk with, knew his job very well, offered no pressure other than the usual, "If we can find the car you want today are you willing to do a deal"...We took the car for a test drive while the team inspected our car. I mentioned that we were only interested in a changeover price... not what our car was worth and what their car was worth, etc... I had done some advance checking on the KBB and other similar cars to ours, and had a fair idea of its value...even at a dealer price... We were SHOCKED and very disappointed when the manager came over with the offer! We were offered $7,500 trade for our Genesis [see KBB], and the Ford was priced at over $20,000. Way below KBB for our car and at the top of the curve for the Ford! WOW!!! What a 'greedy' manager. Then the Manager had the nerve and audacity to suggest we could buy a 2011 Ford Taurus and pay several thousand extra...again WOW and WOW again!! He must of thought that we were desperate idiots! His greed killed the deal! We really liked the Ford, and the interaction with "Hitch" was great...but, it was the manager that killed the deal as well as totally change our opinion of EVER buying a car from them or any of their affiliates!! It is a pity that Hitch was not able to do the deal... We were CASH + trade buyers too....no finance! I hope that "Hitch" can be promoted to manager soon, as the existing one will probably lose the company a lot of customers!
