I visited kalispell for work for 4 nights. rather than stay at a chain hotel in the midst of strip malls, i opted for the kalispell grand hotel, located right in the heart of downtown. I was skeptical- given the almost unbelievable room rate- but the place was perfect. Convenient walk to everything and it was nice to be in a historic area. the rooms were clean and the staff was friendly and helpful! i would stay here again- easily your best bet in kalispell! read more

We loved the Kalispell Grand! We reserved the economy room (not listed on the hotel website, but you can ask for it by phone) and were very pleased with the cleanliness and the fluffy towels. We arrived after a long week of hiking in Glacier, and this hotel was a relief after the much more expensive but less accommodating park lodges. The desk clerk gave us a copy of a wonderful walking tour and offered to set breakfast out 1.5 hours earlier than what's listed on the website so that we could eat before our 6 a.m. flight. The plates of chocolate chip cookies, peanut butter cookies, and popcorn were constantly refilled. We really enjoyed being able to easily stroll to many restaurants, the library, and other spots on the walking tour. We have one suggestion: our room faced the side street and the windows have nice wooden vertical blinds. However, due to the streetlights our room never got dark at night despite the closed blinds. Some curtains or blackout shades would have allowed us to sleep through the night. read more

Great stay. Very nice staff and the cookies in the lobby are awesome! The bed was very comfortable and the continental breakfast was good. My only complaint is it was kinda of loud at night when a crew of revelers came back to their rooms on our floor at 3am. We could also hear our neighbor snoring through the wall! Loved this nostalgic hotel. We stayed 2 nights in the cheapest room which was very small but we knew it would be when making the reservation. It met our needs. Comfortable bed and very clean. Our family of four stayed here for four nights in October 2010. We had a Family Room with 3 beds. The kids had a room connected to ours with 2 beds, and our room had one bed. One bathroom for the family. Two TV's. It was a great setup for us. The room was nice and cozy. The street noise was noticeable but not a big deal. We liked being in town. We got lucky and were there for the High School's homecoming parade. What a treat. Seriously! Breakfast was great. The staff was very friendly. Cookies and popcorn in the afternoon. Nice hotel. This is not a chain and that is a perk. They give out free cookies. Sounds cheesy but it's nice. It's close to a lot of different items in an older section of Kalispell. Rooms are a little small but if you are spending too much time there then you are doing something wrong. The breakfast is unique with a homemade feel. This is now the only hotel we will stay when visiting Kalispell . You are welcomed by staff who smiles and are friendly and the smell of fresh popcorn and warm cookies that are free. Convenient location to restaurants and shopping. My husband and I parked our car and never used it until checkout. Very reasonable rates. Keep in mind it is a historical hotel so you won't have a large suite with refrigerator and microwave. However, you will get a delicious complimentary homemade breakfast and enjoy history throughout the hotel along with VERY clean rooms! read more

Love this historic and grand hotel. Located on Main Street in Kalispell Montana and close (walking distance) to a number of restaurants and services. The hotel is staffed by very competent, and refreshingly happy employees. The hotel is kept in a very clean and comfortable condition. The beds and bedding are of good quality. A continental breakfast is included and many of the items are made by employees including quiche, breads, and cookies. The cost for the hotel is far less than the competing chain hotels and the experience is superior. WiFi is free. read more

I have stayed at many lodgings in my time and this place is A-OK. I would not recommend it if you are traveling with anyone that needs handicap accessibility due to the age of the building and the restroom in our "suite." The staff is friendly and helpful. There are some awesome free cookies. It is a bit pricey for what we got, but hey it is the Summer in beautiful Kalispell, MT. The choices are limited especially if you are frugal. There were small attention to detail type things wrong with the room but it is what it is. I would stay there again so I guess that is the important thing. read more

Rooms are small but very comfortable. I love the historic nature of this place, it's over 100 years old!, but has been updated to be suit modern needs. An especially nice touch is the downstairs corner that offers yummy coffee and breakfast options in the morning and fresh cookies at night. A great place to stay if you are heading to Glacier Park for hiking, and it's conveniently located near Whitefish and Columbia Falls. read more

We stayed 5 nights during our vacation. The downtown Kalispell location of the Grand is centrally located to visit all the attractions in the Flathead valley. The friendly staff was helpful providing local information and suggestions. We were surprised that the Grand was priced less expensive than the chain hotels in the area. I travel through Kalispell often and always stay here. It is so quaint and comfortable with thoughtful amenities and a great spread for a complimentary breakfast. Always clean and quiet with comfortable beds. The staff is exceptional and personable, great customer service plus the price is outstanding! read more

Loved this hotel. The price was very reasonable for what you get. The beds were very comfortable! The best part was the front desk staff. We were driving in on a road trip and asked what there was to do in town. They told us about the rodeo and we took their advice in going because my boyfriend and i had never been to one before, it was so fun! The next day they told us about bar stool races in Martin...we missed the race but joined the festivities after. Their homemade cookies and pastries were fantastic as well! We just got back from our trip to Glacier Park. We stayed at the Grand Hotel in Kalispell from Aug 19 through Aug 23, 2012. The front desk employees were very helpful. I needed a vacuum cleaner hose to compress my space bags when we were packing and no problem getting that. The breakfast items were fresh and it felt great not having to drive somewhere everymorning to get breakfast. (Hot coffee, juice, yogurt, pound cake - lemon raspberr, cranberry, etc., cereal, milk) The fresh chocolate chip and peanut butter cookies became a necessary for my son each night after we got back in. The hotel is located in the center of Kalispell so many places to walk to. Also a great location to stay if visited the park. Only about a 30 to 40 minute ride to the entrance of West Glacier. Considering the prices of the lodges in the park, well worth it at about a $107 per night. I would recommend to anyone. The historic ambiance with an actual key to the room, not electronic cards, just made the whole experience great. The only thing con was we were on the side of the hotel where there was an Italian restaurant. The smell of the food came into the room but the smell only made you hungry as it smelled fantastic. read more

My husband and I stayed at the Grand for four nights during his business trip. We were not sure what to expect from a century old hotel. The Grand is a wonderfully, charming hotel! The staff could not of been nicer or more accommodating. We started the day with breakfast choices, hot coffee, hot tea and such! Throughout the day and into the evening, they set out yummy cookies and popcorn along with drinks! It is super vintage but tastefully updated. Our room was very clean and comfortable. Our bed was perfect. We opted for the larger room with a jacuzzi tub. This was a great choice! The elevator was a little scary and we did have some outside noise but it is downtown. Overall, we absolutely loved staying at the Grand and will plan on staying here again during our future trip. read more

Incredibly LOUD street noise. It's almost midnight and the locals are drag racing up and down Main Street, for the past 5 hours ! Non-Stop !! Hotel is super clean, historical and seems great, until the fools begin racing down Main Street. Unbearable and unacceptable ! DO NOT STAY HERE !! read more

My girlfriend and I stayed here for two nights and in addition to the superb 5 star services that this fine establishment provides, they make some of the best oatmeal bars that I have ever had. Lovely historic hotel right downtown. Very clean and the bed was soft yet firm. They served a huge breakfast in the morning and popcorn and cookies in the evening. The only drawback was that you are right on highway 93 (Main St) That didn't keep me from having a wonderful night's sleep because I use ear plugs. read more

This hotel is fantastic! It is quaint and historic, and is in the heart of downtown Kalispell near equally quaint shops and restaurants. The staff is very friendly, and the breakfast is to die for! The homemade quiche and quick breads rival some of the best bed and breakfasts I have stayed in. Snacks and drinks are also provided all afternoon. The location is good at the center of this small town. We were going to stay in one of the chain hotels nearby (rates are comparable), but I'm so glad we ended up staying here. Such a wonderful little gem in Kalispell! I started searching in April for a hotel to stay in for two nights in July, and was shocked at the costs I was finding for motels and just couldn't bring myself to pay over $100 for a poorly rated motel... so I started searching for hotels without online reservations, and came across the Kalispell Grand. I was awed at how charming it appeared and requested a reservation through their website. I am extremely glad I did so! This is possibly the best little hotel I found in Montana! The employees are extremely nice and helpful, they actually DO have fresh baked cookies out through the day, they offer a small continental breakfast in the mornings, and it's GOOD. We showed up almost 2 hours early for our check in and it wasn't an issue. The hotel is historic so it has it's creaks and groans, but it's extremely well kept, clean, with a friendly staff, and so very charming. You feel welcome from the moment you check in! The hotel is dog friendly, with no restrictions. Was lovely to see the 4 legged guests get treated just as well as the 2 legged. We spent 2 nights there, and honestly, if I return to Montana, it's the first place I'll ask for a reservation at! Soft pillows, good mattresses, and clean sheets that are actually changed and washed daily! I honestly cannot say enough good things about this hotel. read more
