My wife and I love this new restaurant which is the second of its kind to open (the Boulder location opened a while ago). It's a nice fast casual option that is tastier and healthier than most and has an awesome patio that all the guests are drawn to. They also have a great throwback music (think Sinatra) and a surprisingly nice wine list. It all adds up to a nice dinner out even when you only have so much time. Highly recommended! read more

Okay this spot is SO fricken good. It's located in an inconspicuous looking strip mall, tucked between a couple beauty shops. I ordered the gyro wrap and it absolutely did not disappoint! The gyro was cooked and seasoned perfectly and the veggies that accompanied the wrap were fresh and tasty. The service is really quick and the prices are fair. Wow. Absolutely fantastic. The lamb gyro was about the best I've ever had. Use shredded lamb. It was cooked and seasoned to perfection. Order fries extra crispy and they were outstanding. Fresh, not double dip in the fryer to add crispiness, and perfectly salted and seasoned. Avgomono soup was good but could have been a little warmer. Service could not have been better. Dining room is clean and parking is convenient. All in all an excellent experience. read more

The kalita style chicken gryo was to die for. They put a spicy sauce in replacement of taziki which elevates this wrap so much. The sauce is abit spicy but nothing overwhelming in my opinion, its just a great mellow kick of flavor. The people here are friendly and do mot rush you or your food. Haven't had dolmas and baklava in years, so of course I had to try their veggie dolmas plate and get baklavas for dessert (for me and my folks). The dolmas were a bit more tart than the ones I used to get at Trader Joe's, but they were still very delicious. They were also very generous with the portions--it looked kinda small at first, but don't let that fool you. We got quite full not even half way through the meal, but that didn't stop us from enjoying our dessert lol. The baklavas are a must whether you're dining in or taking out. Staff was friendly and the line moved relatively quickly. I'd come back again for sure. read more

I got the falafel plate because I love every single thing about it... the sides are really delish! I took one star off because the falafel was SO dry... even when drowned in the delish tzatziki sauce. Also, when I looked at my receipt, I noticed they calculated the 15% tip on TOP of taxes. Not cool. Next time I go (and I will), I'll pass on the falafel and do a straight $$ amount for the tip on the total - BEFORE taxes. read more

The food took forever when I walked in and they did not appear to look busy at all. I've worked in the food service industry, managing several restaurants so I know technically how long it takes to cook certain items so I definitely understand needing to wait but it was so excessive and a little ridiculous. How so many people came in after me to order and left way before I did. I was sitting with an earshot of what they were ordering paying attention so it was just blowing my mind as five people who came in after me left way before me. I ordered the chicken souvlaki platter, highly disappointing. It was too very small skewers that were cooked so fast at such a high temperature that the outside was hard as well as the inside. Inside the container the skewers were on top of 3 tablespoons of rice, not even exaggerating. The quality of the little cup of hummus was awful. It was so thick. It just felt like they had ground up the garbanzo beans and didn't add any flavor to it with no spices, tahini, oil, heck not even any water it was thick and dry. Definitely shocked at the cost vs value of the product ESPECIALLY because as I was sitting there, listening to what people were ordering I was also watching people that dined in there and what they got, and the portions were massive. On a positive, the customer service was great, everyone was super friendly, and the restaurant was so clean! I can't imagine this is actually the kind of quality for takeout. We ordered the chicken shawarma plate. The chicken was dry, the rice was not seasoned well, and the humus was a little pasty in texture. We also ordered the falafels, which were dry and for sure needed tzatziki (which was good) to get them down. We ordered the ground beef dolmas. They are definitely an acquired taste, which I have yet to acquire. The best part of the meal was the salad and bread. Very fresh salad and pillowy texture on the flatbread. One of my favorite places for a quick bite in Boulder. I am OBSESSED with the Kalita gyro and could eat it every day. That sauce is FIRE. Every time we order we always order a side of it because it's that damn good. $12.99 for a gyro may seem a bit steep but they do load you up with meat and toppings. The meat is usually spot on but there have been a few times where it's been a little dry. Let me be clear, by no means is it bad because their lamb/beef is amazingly tasty regardless but you can usually tell when it's freshly made. We've tried a bunch of other things on the menu, but always come back to the Kalita gyro. Did I mention the sauce is addicting? Love this place, but come on guys - tiny side of rice for $3.45? It's tasty, but I don't think it's worth spending that. That's my only critique. These gyros are the best around. read more

Just really stellar Greek take out at a fair price. I discovered this place during the pandemic and have become supremely thankful for their existence. I usually get a Chicken Shawarma wrap, though my husband tells me that their plates are excellent as well. The Bougatsa is to die for and no meal is complete without an order of Greek Fries, though I'm going to need to take a step back and try some of their healthier sides. The wait can be a little long some days as it seems they can get a little overwhelmed with online and phone orders, so plan ahead. I've taken to calling ahead just to help speed things up a bit. It tends to help. The location is a little easy to miss as it's tucked back in a shopping center, but at least that means there is ample parking. There are a couple of outdoor tables, but not any indoor dining currently. Masks are required. The staff have all been friendly and courteous and the food is delicious. Kalita Grill Greek Cafe is the spot for the most authentic Greek dishes, owned by an impressive team of Greek background!! The owner totally rescued our original plans for lunch AND was incredibly patient with my diet restrictions. I was uncertain what to order; I didn't feel confident after the other spot, completely left us hanging!! Kalita Grill Greek Cafe, was located in the same shopping center as the other restaurant that left us at "less than desirable!" Kalita was memorable and a good ending to our day. The restaurant was incredibly classy from inside and out- We loved the gorgeous wedding bouquets, the design of the tables- the interior was gorgeous. We ordered a Veggie Combo Plate, that came with a side of Greek salad, (My favorite) spanokopita, 2 falafels, 2 veggie dolmas, hummus, babaganoush, tabouli, pita bread and side of tzatziki sauce. Nick ordered the Meat Dolma Plate, which didn't have a lot of meat as we thought! It was a good thing: Ground beef, rice, stuffed in grape leaves served with Greek salad, pita bread and side of tzatziki sauce. We ended up swapping most of our dishes with each other and fell in love with a slice of their savory Baklava treat. It was just an unforgettable experience. read more

I order from this place every time I'm in Boulder! Their shawarma wraps are a huge portion and so good.

I ordered at 4:05pm on Sat. A simple chicken gyro to go. There were only 3ppl inside, not crowded, not busy. I even tipped 15% when paying and was told that the order would take 10 to 15 minutes. I sat and waited at a table. And after about 20 minutes, I got up and stood at a table across from the counter, subtly letting them know that I was there...as I watched about 4-5 people chatting with no-one working on anything. At that point the one who took my order noticed me and asked asked me what my name was. I saw him then hand the order to someone who only then started working on my order. Another 10min went by and after a total of just under 30min they gave me my order. No apology for the delay, no acknowledgment that they dropped the ball. Nothing. I have worked numerous customer-service positions and, to me, this is a big fail. Sure, mistakes happen but their complete lack of acknowledgment to my waiting 2-3x longer than I should have, is just wrong. If I were on the other side of the counter I would have first acknowledged that they dropped the ball, maybe offered something (a drink) while I waited and/or offered a free desert when they finally handed me my order. Something, anything. Yes, I did get a decent gyro but by that time I was upset that I had to wait 1/2hr for a simply to go order especially when it wasn't busy that I didn't really enjoy it. So, will I be back...probably not. read more
